NOT an accurate calculation but just some rough figures given the talk about how high our wage bill is.

Based on the above by June we could have reduced our wage bill by around 157k per week. £8.1M per year.

This isn't taking into account other players like Sinclair, Ntcham, Bitton, Gordon, Simunovic, Griffiths who MIGHT look to move on for one reason or another.

Obviously others will come in but our squad is huge and in need of a proper cull.

It would be ludicrous to keep adding to that wage bill to appease supporters who want to sign 6 or 7 players every transfer window hence why the loan option is appetising for the club. You get a guy who earns 30k per week for a fraction of the cost. If we owned Weah, Burke, Benkovic etc our wage bill would not be sustainable in Scotland.

Hopefully we can get the dead wood moved on and sign a few players of genuine quality to have a proper go at the CL qualifiers next year. I'll always be happy with loan players especially if they are of the quality of Benkovic/ Roberts and contribute on the pitch.

So the young winger in but going back to club will c him at some point. BR says tonight we know what we want to do tomorrow hoping to do some business but not to busy more outs hopefully will c soon. Some reports says a rb and possible CB papers reports but no name for CB.

Remember some loan players have to get their full wage or partial wage paid by us as well.

Hi Ghuys. not posted in a while. Glad to be back on. Anyways. our wage bill is unsustainable. I do believe there's tension behind the scenes, and I do think this will be BR last season (Hope I'm wrong! ) . We NEED to move players on. I think we all recognise that. I think Ntcham might be away this time tomorrow. I for one, would take a good offer from Porto or anywhere else. Think Broony staying indicates this. HH Bhoys n Ghirls.

How can so many people with not an iota of evidence keep reminding us Brendan is for the off in the summer .
None of us has a notion, if he was going P L would be aware and would be building a squad to attract the new manager . He wouldn't be allowing squad to be run down .
If Brendan decides to leave, he has said he will get the message from our fans . He may be getting that message as some less educated fans think it's smart to hurl abuse and insults at players they don't like.

6 points clear and 12 goals better off let's really kick on now and maybe get a few good signings done between tonight and tomorrows deadline.

The gap is only going to increase over next few games. Hopefully RB is signed by tomorrow. I'm not holding my breath for a CB although I do think someone has been lined up for summer.

Can't praise the guys enough for a perfect January.
Four wins twelve goals scored and none conceded (by Bain) !
OK games were at home against very beatable sides, but we have faced packed defenses, goalkeepers playing out of their skin, with several of our big names missing through injury/ Internationals.
Not to mention the distraction of the dreaded windae!
Well played Bhoys.

Is it just me or has anyone else lost the plot the transfer window?
The amount of rumours seems to be incredible even by our standards.
Can we agree in the summer window just to debate Robbie Keane whereabouts just like old times.
I'm sure it was much simpler.

Afternoon Ed nearly there now transfer bliss after morra night. I hope that Benkovic injury is not as bad as fears. Further scans are to be taken I hope that it’s just weeks rather than season.

Few rumours it's just 4 weeks.

I have been watching the usual sports outlets and heard nothing about the extent or type of injury - only that he was being assessed?
Maybe it may not be as bad as feared after all?

Ed with reports coming thick and fast now of a right back coming in and looking at some LB from Sunderland as well as a bid from Celtic being rejected by Atalanta for one of our top br targets what reports are true? Why go for a loan rb and try to buy a RB you know the price is too high is this to try a peace the fans?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Aye that'll be what it is.}

30 Jan 2019 14:48:00
😂😂😂 It'll all be over with tomorrow Ed.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Only a Celtic fan could come up with that 😂😂 Anyone else would see it as a sign of how desperate the Club have been to get a RB in - isn't it called having a few irons in the fire?}

30 Jan 2019 15:20:34
Was the bid for castagne not earlier in January. Thought that was why we shifted onto other targets.

Toljan is another Loan signing. This is really odd. Why a Loan? So when it comes to the summer we will lose.

Weah
Burke
Boyata
Benkovic
Izzy
Lustig
Gamboa
& now Toljan.

3 of them start in our defence.

We are going to go so far backwards. I like Loan signings but not in that right back position. We don't have any guarantees.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

30 Jan 2019 12:05:03
Totally agree.

Surely the 3 right backs we have can see out the rest of the season? It’s next season we should be buying for.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jan 2019 12:06:30
If it has an option to buy I don't have a problem with it, if it works out sign him and if it doesn't then we aren't stuck with a player.

30 Jan 2019 12:08:15
KenLikeEh

it looks like the Toljan deal will have an option to buy in the summer so hopefully he has a good few months and we can get him tied down permanently in the summer.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jan 2019 12:09:36
I agree. No addressing obvious issues now with permanent signings will most probably cost us CL football next year.
I shudder to think about going into the qualifiers with jack hendry or nir bitton at centre half.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jan 2019 12:10:32
We have 3 right backs on the books, Lustig, Gamboa and Ralston. I would imagine 1-2 of them will be leaving in the summer and we will see a permanent move then.

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Jan 2019 12:19:56
Lustig is starting to struggle domestically. Gamboa can do a job and Ralston is injured. We need to buy now. We’ve had a month to get a right back in and we’re leaving it late again I’ll hold my breath on anymore signings. Especially loans. Weah Burke and Benkovic all good signings but we should have a limit on the loans we bring in.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jan 2019 12:21:28
I agree with this loan try before you buy wee can get him in the summer if it works out.

Toljan is a cracking signing👍.

30 Jan 2019 13:12:45
Hate to harp on about this; but with the size of this extortionate squad and players either reluctant to leave or not wanted by anyone - we have very little choice but to take temporary steps with loans.
Otherwise we are just throwing money away on wages for 'redundant or idle' players, or buying guys just for the sake of it.
Obviously we made a coo's arse of it last summer; but January is not the best window to get the most options for the right price and we need to get it absolutely right this summer in and out the door.

30 Jan 2019 13:40:04
One a boy who’s fault is it then its certainly not the fans fault for buying players who aren’t up to the task mate really starting to get annoyed the way the club goes about there bussiness these days fingers crossed it works out.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jan 2019 14:13:12
Obviously not the support at fault and the blame lies squarely at the person (s) responsible for recommending and agreeing the signings.
The fact remains that we have over a full team of misfits that are picking up wages for nothing and bleeding the clubs finances.
More effort and persuasion should have been used to loan-out, sell (even at a loss) , or even terminate contracts to make room and cash for better quality in the few positions, we are crying out for class.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jan 2019 14:20:57
We are put in a situation where we will be left with one of our starting front 4 after the season finishes. Then we will be stuck and have no time to invest unless we sign now.

30 Jan 2019 14:45:52
Correct mate too many sucking the resources from the club sitting doing nothing on top dollar.
