Bayo and hendry doing well on loan are they an option for next season. hendry may have needed more time and bayo free from injury.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

03 Mar 2021 00:33:13
Both have future fee clauses in their loan contracts I think so no guarantee we get them back even if we want them.

03 Mar 2021 01:53:06
Mallythetally Hendry won't be back, he will sign for that Belgian club he is at.

Agree1 Disagree0

03 Mar 2021 07:19:36
Anyone got any idea how Bolingoli is getting on? I know it's hardly a popular opinion, but in light subsequent issues regarding quarantine breaches etc it would be a bit hypocritical to punt him for that infraction alone. I thought he looked dynamic on occasion and would be happy for the new boss to have another look.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2021 07:46:03
Think we should have given hendry the season away to see how he developed, some cbs come on quicker than others, stones at city couldn't get a game last year but he's a mainstay now, yes he's got pep but he still made mistake after mistake. but the improvement is they're to see.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2021 07:58:40
Both are not good enough.

Agree2 Disagree0

03 Mar 2021 11:10:28
Bolingoli is definitely a no go to ever play for Celtic again.

Agree1 Disagree0

03 Mar 2021 12:21:34
Bayo has found his level.

Agree1 Disagree0

03 Mar 2021 13:49:46
Ad rather have bayo than klimala. players can develope and you only have to look at Christie and mcgregor and ajer all deemed not Hood enough. i don't know about hendry but the reports out of Belgium which is a better league than ours is very good, maybe like ajer regular games has developed him.

Question will everyone renew season ticket not knowing who manager is or wait till its announced to renew. Am waiting till at least may. Will definitely renew anyway club needs us to back them.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

02 Mar 2021 19:38:21
Fk all to do with the club needing it I’m renewing with a heavy heart cos I love the team but I begrudge giving them any money. They owe us after this year.

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Mar 2021 20:01:42
I’ll be renewing because I’m a CELTIC supporter.

Agree5 Disagree0

02 Mar 2021 20:51:55
Well if everyone renews before the new manager is named you can be sure we will get the cheap option, every St holder should wait till the last possible moment to renew and give the board a pause for thought let them know we don't want a cheap option we want the biggest and best we can draw here and let every club in Scotland know we will never have a cluster **** of a season like that again.

Agree2 Disagree0

02 Mar 2021 21:03:34
Won’t work tho mate we have dates to meet I’m fortunate we buy through an intermediary so get longer to pay but also ias I’m in standing the waiting list is huge so I need to confirm asap I can’t give mine up it means too much but doesn’t mean I’m not happy with the way we’ve been treated.

Agree2 Disagree0

02 Mar 2021 21:06:36
Yep fed up but one horrendous season in 20 faithful through and through.

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Mar 2021 21:28:53
Another season ticket renewal here because I love the Celtic.

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Mar 2021 21:30:52
Not at all Mally I can take a poor season seen enough of them it’s the disconnect from the fans during a C.V. that we’ve all forked out for yet nothing from the club. They sell a rubbish stream that gives them a go to all fans that they can reach out to yet nothing we deserve more. As Killy says I support celtic so will always be there but the club owe us more respect is that wrong?

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Mar 2021 21:49:39
renew without a second thought.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Mar 2021 22:04:57
I definitely agree about renewing we all should. Tho I think the board should be made to wait till near deadline date if they don't announce decent manager and dof.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Mar 2021 23:07:40
Am I wrong or just different to those on here.

Agree1 Disagree0

03 Mar 2021 00:36:33
The only power fans have over any board at any club is holding back your cash. If you want to renew regardless of what happens then great but don't have a go at those that want to use that power to send a message.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2021 07:47:00
Will be renewing but agree with Welshy88. Club have treated the support with utter contempt. From a plc that seem only intrested in money. The players never kicked a ball all season. No fight, no commitment and with Frimpong comments yesterday. It was of a case of shoulder shrug we can't win everything.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2021 07:49:40
Welshy that wasn't a dig mate that was my thoughts for myself, av got mates who say they won't renew but I will, because I know next season when it kicks off and fans are back I'll regret it if I wasn't there.

Agree1 Disagree0

03 Mar 2021 08:24:05
Supporting Celtic is a life-choice through and over the piece people born in the last half-century have experienced plenty of highs, records broken, great players and trophies won, to outweigh disappointments and even disasters, or cheating opponents.
We know the clubs reputation on penny-pinching and budget buying, like it was with The Kelly's when I was a kid, but we prevailed.
There are signs that at last, lessons have been learnt after such a horrendous season (for several reasons) and change is coming.
A full Celtic Park will happen again soon and who would want to miss-out after a season of exile? The only place to express any sort of emotion is inside Celtic Park. Deep down we know things may have been very different with the support in the stadiums; plus, for any book not being renewed, there are plenty of takers waiting in the 'wings'.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2021 09:46:36
Think we're all missing something here lads, everyone is presuming that fans will be back next season, I doubt that very much, possibly at start of season you will be allowed 25% capacity but as next winter sets in it will be back to lockdown/ no fans. I doubt very much if we will ever see full capacity stadiums again. Hope I'm wrong but the world is changing, all future events whether it be football, concerts, festivals etc will be reduced capacity at best IMO.

Guys why kid yourselves on, wake up to what's happening in the world. People believe when everyone's vaccinated everything will return to normal🤣 I'm afraid there is going to be a "new" normal in the world. The word "variant" which is the latest buzz word doing the rounds will make sure this continues for many years to come. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news to those of you who are asleep .

{Ed007's Note - I know everyone's moaning about the lockdown and not being allowed out but has anyone went the other way and thought "This not going out lark is alright"?
I've hardly been out the door for 10 years except for going to Chapel, doctor's appointments and things like Christmas & birthdays, I miss going to the football but that's about it.}

03 Mar 2021 13:03:43
I'm with you all the way Gar. Unfortunately if the powers that be make rules like reduced capacity / no capacity there is not a lot we can do.
Ed I'm at the age now that apart from not getting to the football it doesn't affect me hugely. If I was younger I'd be going stir crazy🤣
JFP get back to the doctors and get that vax reversed🤣🤣.

With the news of the Scottish cup being played does this give us some hope of us maybe getting something from this season.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

02 Mar 2021 19:42:51
We are still nowhere near top form, fitness or consistency and in my opinion several players are still not performing at their best.
The sequence of events that have taken us to this point have really taken their toll and every team knows how to score against us.
The new manager might not be named until after the season ends, so in the meantime, we plod on with JK and try to be professional.
However, we are THE BEST Scottish Cup team in Scotland so who knows?

Agree1 Disagree0

03 Mar 2021 00:37:42
Wouldn't hold out much hope but it would be good to take something from this season.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2021 01:20:27
Not for me I just can't wait for the season to be over. And agree with all negatives about the team, don't think we'd come close to winning it, and if we did Kennedy might be given job in the showers.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Mar 2021 19:01:06
ED007 can you clarify, if you are able, these loan contracts.
Apparently Hendry and Bayo are doing well in Belgium and France and they have a clause agreeing a fee to sign them that even if Celtic wanted them back we cannot get them, yet the opposite seems to be the case with Nitcham's loan in that if Marseille do not want to pay agreed fee they can ship him back to us.
Has our Board screwed up here again.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - It just depends on the individual agreements, Tim.}

Has there been anything reported on what sort of money Dom McKay will be on at Celtic? Lawwell's salary and bonuses were a massive bone of contention, especially when the issue of achievable player wages was brought up. Obviously I know its not the sort of thing that just gets announced publicly.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - You won't find out for certain until next year's accounts come out.}

02 Mar 2021 17:07:25
It won’t be minimum wage.

My only concern with McKay is that Christie gets a wage rise for being able to kick the baw over the bar and out the park. His next trick will be picking it up and running with it.

McKay said he loves the scrum Celtic do before games. 🏉 🏉🏉.

We will get a manager the board deems suitable, we won't get a Marquee signing of a manager we get a Steve Clarke or Alex Neil or Jack Ross. When we need a manager like Benetiz or atleast one of similar stature the board will take advantage of us again as they always do. They won't make any announcement till after the ST money has hit their bank account.

A NEW ERA FOR CELTIC IS BEGINNING

Now that Lawwell and Lennon are gone the "New Broom" can begin it's work

We need a DOF, Manager and new players. We also need a whole NEW APPROACH FROM OUR BOARD

If stories are true DD is handing over running of Celtic to one of his sons, who seems to be more interested.

Let's have a Spring Clean and get rid of all the deadwood and any players not wanting to be at Celtic Park. I hope the club is already working on all this already and the International Break coming up gives our Board the time to interview candidates and appoint manager and DOF ASAP, even having them ready for start of new season.

We should be able to bring in a decent calibre of player, even if we sell French Eddie, Ajer, Christie and maybe one or two more, even with so called "reduced transfer fees" stories we ought to be able to still get a fair price for the three players mentioned which must all go into our transfer budget or most of it anyway.

Finishing second poses Celtic problems qualifying for CL but at least I hope the Board have everything in place to give us the best possible chance and also to go and win back our title from the currents.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

02 Mar 2021 14:26:32

New era, time to think big and get the punters back onside as they're the life blood of the club. we have a challenge from sevco, and between now and the start of next season is huge, eff it up and sevco could dominate for a good few years.

Good morning Ed, how are you doing and how's the home studio looking?

There's a rumour suggesting that Gary Penrice and Nick Hammond are set to leave Celtic.

Have you heard anything on this and if it were true, do you think it would point to a D. O. F. coming into the club?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I'm good thanks and the "studio" is getting thereI'm just waiting on my nephews to do some moving stuff about for me and going to the dump with the rubbish.
If the stories about Hammond and Penrice are true - I don't trust the source of the original story but it's hardly a big exclusive and more an educated guess considering the Club is going through an overhaul - then the question is who is making these decisions?
It could well be that the DOF is already working behind the scenes.}

02 Mar 2021 12:02:09

Don't often pay much attention to anything Charlie Nicholas has to say it's usually gibberish. But he raised an issue this morning that has been on my mind for a while. It's not a verbatim quote I've translated it into English.

'Celtic fans need to see and hear if Dermot Desmond still has the hunger and desire to take the club forward'

'The Irish tycoon might officially be a non-executive director but everybody knows he is the voice and the decision maker at Parkhead. '

'Neil Lennon has left and Peter Lawwell is leaving so Desmond's voice is the only one that matters now'

'Now it is time for him to stand up to (tell) the heartbeat of the club - the fans - how Celtic is going to move forward from this season'

'If Desmond has lost interest then the possibility of a new purchaser coming in would concern a lot of fans. '

It all comes back to the owner and it is now up to him to deliver. '

'Is Desmond truly determined to get Celtic back to the top? '

So is he?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

02 Mar 2021 10:29:46
Well we all know what happened after the semi final defeat to the Orcs.
I think we are about to see the same reaction.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Mar 2021 10:51:02
Jonbhoy that was a while ago. When you get to a stage in life their are fights that we might have fought years ago that we wouldn’t fight today. There comes a point sometimes in business, or for footballers or boxers that we’re just not up for it. Do we know DD is?

The thing that points to a yes for me is appointing his laddie. If he isn’t up for he’d be sending him to fight with one hand behind his back. I don’t know the man but don’t see a father doing that.

I have no idea. But do we know he’s definitely a up for the cup?

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Mar 2021 10:57:39

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Mar 2021 11:13:32
Agree with the bhoys.

I think DD will and is already taking personal charge of this matter for the reasons already given, DD is not an individual who conducts his business via the media let alone halfit ex players trying to be relevant.

Keep the faith, HH.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Mar 2021 11:29:38

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Mar 2021 11:54:59
We will find out soon, hopefully, if DD has decided to take King on after he called him out. If he does we will soon be back on track, but he's presided over our decline these last few years, so it doesn't seem a forgone thing. I hope Kings taunts had the same effect on him as it did on the rest of us. Bring that barstewards down. Over to you DD, you going to take it and roll over or start throwing punches?

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Mar 2021 12:07:55
i posted a while back that i thought the way we were going that it looked like dd had had enough of playing with his toy and was passing it on either to a family member or a buyer but finding a buyer in the current climate wouldn't be easy so it would probably stay in the family for now.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Mar 2021 13:52:20
I can’t see DD allowing his son to have a seat on the Celtic board after years of dominance and then sitting back to become 2nd best. No Chance.

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Mar 2021 13:59:18
Desmond is doing what he has always done. He appoints people to the board that he has faith in. He gives them their remit and let's them get on with it.

He will give them free reign to make decisions and will only get invloved when necessary. He wants Celtic to be a strong business and self-sufficient but is smart enough to know that to obtrain that, they need success on the park because of the sphere in which we operate.

Now people may or may not like him for the way he handles things but you can't argue with the success both on and off the park, that we have had under his tenure.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

02 Mar 2021 09:24:53
Collins in my opinion, was the problem with Ronnie.
I liked him as a player but his ego would not allow him to play second fiddle to anyone.
He is such an expert and yet clubs are not exactly falling over themselves to get him as a manager or DoF (Touting himself for the Celtic job maybe? )

jock had bobby robson lined up and fergus wanted a foreign manager robson had agreed to come as well.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Mar 2021 09:25:50
Normally that is the correct sequence of events and I do not have an issue with that.

What I do have an issue with is how the board did not have something in place as Lennon's departure has been a long time coming, so they have no excuse for not being prepared for it.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Mar 2021 10:46:44
If Kennedy was to stay on they could do worse than JC. He should never been an assistant to Ronnie. But they should find a role for him and big yogi are great coaches Romny and JC put down the foundations of a good young team Brendan derailed the juggernaut and Lenny got the rap for the crash.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Mar 2021 11:20:40
Mally, on your question - I'd say yes.

If we're going with a D. O. F. then he'd need to be appointed first with the Manager/ coaching staff to follow shortly after.

My understanding here is that the structure is put in place by the D. O. F. and the Manager and players are brought in to fit into that structure/ playing style/ ethos.

A bit like square pegs in square holes, not your best midfielder playing at LB against your biggest rivals or 3 strikers sitting on the bench when you're playing a midfielder upfront.

02 Mar 2021 11:56:01

So someone has posted on here asking what players they think will leave/ return to parent clubs (Moi, Duffy, Christie, Eddy, Laxalt, Ajer, Ajeti, Ntcham - are my favorites. ) .

But who would people like to see come in? Realistically but also pepper in some fun too guys!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

02 Mar 2021 09:12:41
Ntcham is hardly playing in France so I wouldn't bet on him making that move permanent. Moi I think we will try and sign.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Mar 2021 13:11:46
How much do you think it will take to sign Moi? And I just don't see a way back to playing for Ntcham. I think his attitude is poor and it's shows. Don't get me wrong - he's a talented player but I don't see him getting back to playing well with us because I don't think he wants to do it.

What about looking at some signings? We need a centre half (or two? ) , A GK, a centre mid, strikers, and more. I think we need to spend quite a bit or use loans with option to buy to see how players settle etc.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Mar 2021 16:17:43
Kev I'm almost certain when i was last watching the french league, I'm pretty sure the commentators were saying that there was an issue with the transfers of 3 or 4 of their players and Ntchams was one of them, didn't quite get all the story so not 100% sure.
