On BT Sport just now Roma Juventus, fireworks, smoke bombs and flares everywhere commentator says "what a great atmosphere" Celtic fans light ONE flare and UEFA contact Interpol.

Believable6 Unbelievable7

03 Mar 2015 00:01:33
We'll just have to wait and see, if eufa treat everyone the same, I don't see any need for someone setting of flares in a crowded area, and if eufa punish celtic and don't punish the other teams, eufa won't have a leg to stand on if celtic appeal, me, I would fine any team whose supporters heavily the first time, then double it the second time, then make them play behind closed doors for the next home game if it happened a third time.

03 Mar 2015 11:25:04
I hope the powers that be at Celtic (I would say SFA/SPFL, but that would be ridiculous, right?) saw it and can quote it as evidence if nothing is done; it seems all too common in Europe and we rarely see or hear of any repercussions for them.

Comedy gold on Clyde tonight, one of first callers quoted King as ploughing in minimum £50m, aye pal maybe with the tax he never paid in SA lol

Believable3 Unbelievable7

02 Mar 2015 22:14:43
They just don't understand how shareholdings work. Then again, they don't understand very much in the real world. Let them get on with living in their own wee world. Dave King the saviour? Tells its own story if they want someone like him in charge. On a side note, I can't wait until they kick, cheat and scrape their way to a European spot in 5 years or so then UEFA say sorry guys not enough coefficient points, a la derry city.

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Mar 2015 23:54:37
Nobody in their right mind will pump that kind of money in without a return on their investment and Ashley already owns most of the profitable parts.

Agree1 Disagree0

03 Mar 2015 11:36:14
I think the fact that Rangers fans are hailing a tax cheat as the saviour of their tinpot club, says everything about them. Over the years they have cheated and swindled their way to titles and cups, and failed to pay taxes to the monarch they are supposed to worship.
Dave King being a convicted conman, is undoubtedly the most appropriate man for the job, he and Rangers were made for each other.

Just want to make a post congratulating Billy McNeill on his 75th birthday today. Hail Cesar!

What a guy!

I was out for a family meal in Inverkip, ordered the Sirlion Steak. Waiter says to me, sorry Sir we have no more Sirlion but we do have the Fillet

I replied, it's ok I don't like fish

Big Caeser was sitting at the table next to me and burst out laughing, my own mother then apologised to him for my stupidity.

Ah the embarrassment!!!

Looking at our team, the areas that need new or additional players.

Goalkeeper: To push Gordon.

Defense: CB 1 or 2 & LB
Midfield: Totally covered.
Forward: Winger to replace forest and a quality striker to assist Griffiths.

Thoughts anyone???

In Ronny we trust.

I think CB has to be priority number one. I'm scared we lose both VVD and Denayer next season and get left with a very weak backline.

Agree2 Disagree0

02 Mar 2015 23:46:12
Agree with you about defense and gk. I think we need cover in cm as we don't have good cover for Brown and biton.yes we have players who can play there but none fill me with confidence. If guidetti stays we are ok up top but need new striker if he leaves.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2015 12:22:32
Business needs to be done soon as the windows opens on a CB or 2 none of this dwelling and penny pinching as we will be playing the CL qualifiers in no time! Just hope we have some good targets lined up already

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2015 12:50:34
I think they will promote Fasan to first team next season and zaluska will be off.

2 CBs, LB, ST possibly 2.

For the off:

Stokes
Guidetti
Forrest
VVD
Denayer (if he doesn't extend loan)
Boerighter
Pukki
Balde
Rogic (possibly)
Fridjonnson
Wakaso
Tonev

Would like to see players signed that would have immediate effect and more invested in youth development

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2015 16:03:45
Cant argue with any of that DN30

Agree1 Disagree0

03 Mar 2015 19:18:57
Have to agree with most of what you say, though I hope we can keep Denayer and VVD. Maybe VVD has done us a favour with his performance against Inter. For the sake of banter I see you havnt mentioned CG. Where is he in your plans as you have Fasan in 1st team.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Mar 2015 17:43:03
Rayman I reckon they will start GC as number 1, with Fasan playing games as required to start with. I think Fasan is GC long term replacement and in future see GC demoted to number 2 over the course of a few seasons.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Mar 2015 14:50:19
Of the players we signed during the summer, J I Berget excluded, does anyone know if any of them were RD's targets or even scouted by him.

Thanks.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

02 Mar 2015 17:29:42
I'd imagine Denayer because he seems to have decent contacts within Man City.

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Mar 2015 14:46:43
Now we are in a good position, what are everybody's thoughts for team on wednesday bearing in mind the tough schedule we have had. I would rest some of our more important players like Johansen who has run himself into the ground, Brown, Mathews (he is our only fit right back we have, yes I am NOT counting EFE) play young Fisher and some of the U21's alongside GMS and Armstrong who are cup tied anyways, up front give the likes of Stokes, Scepovic and Wakaso a run out to keep most of the first team fresh for the cup games coming up.

Believable1 Unbelievable7

02 Mar 2015 15:33:31
No keep the same team, get the points in the bag then gives us breathing space to rest some players.

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Mar 2015 15:34:00
We always have been in a good position, it was more a case of a segment of support not wanting to give Deila a chance

Agree3 Disagree1

02 Mar 2015 16:23:21
Timalloy I can't see him resting anyone unless they are an injury concern. The team have a winning mentality and everyone is playing well and even more important everyone seems to be enjoying themselves. I would keep playing the strongest team.

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Mar 2015 17:34:39
@Timalloy I can see where you're coming from but remember earlier in the season every time Ronny made changes it went t*ts up. I'd maybe rest two or three.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Mar 2015 18:26:14
We are in the healthiest position for years regarding depth of squad and we can now name a full 'game-changing' bench, which is a huge advantage over all the other teams.
I would tinker here and there but would always play our best available team until we have actually won something Tim.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Mar 2015 18:44:58
Johansen may be running about a lot, but that doesn't mean he has ran himself into the ground. Play him, I say, until his form or fitness drops off. Trust in the sports science department at Lennoxtown to look after the players.

Agree3 Disagree0

03 Mar 2015 12:33:39
Only places we can change is the front 4. Not sure on the wing back situations with Izzy and Lustig. But I'd like to see Scepovic have a crack maybe start Stokes and Forrest and rest GMS and Armstrong for the weekend. Or bring them off when the games wrapped up quickly

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2015 15:44:18
Bankie bhoy . You are spot on . The Celtic Science Dept. Will know if a player needs a rest . After the good work on Sunday we need to put out a strong side and keep the pressure on .

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Mar 2015 16:11:03
We can't ever be complacent you just need to look at past games under NL where he rested players and lost most of them I am sure RD will not go down that path

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Mar 2015 14:20:15
We're getting to the business end of the season now and I know rayman has firmly nailed his colours to the craig gordon mast but who does everyone else think should be player of the year? My top 3 are

1. Stefan Johansen.
2. Scott Brown.
3. Craig Gordon.

If we win the treble I'd maybe swap the top 2 as captaining us to a treble is a damn fine achievment.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I'd have the same top two but have Biton as my third choice, he's the most improved player I've seen this season and is an integral part of the team now. In fact all three of Biton, Brown and Johansen have all upped their game a notch, Scott Brown is fast becoming one of my all-time favourite players.}

02 Mar 2015 14:44:29
I would also add VVD to that list. While I agree with Ed007 that Biton has been great since coming into the team and has steadily improved, I would not have him in the list as he missed half the season.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Rab is that not a post that disagrees with me? Look up contradiction in the dictionary.}

02 Mar 2015 14:48:08
Johansen for me, but with special mention for Brown, without Brown's donkey work SJ would not be able to pop up with all those important goals. Look at how much we missed Brown in the CL qualification campaign

I acknowledge Gordon has had some great games but he has made some vitally important mistakes too so I wouldn't give it to him.

I think if Biton had a bit of devil or controlled nastiness (maybe wrong word, agression might be better) in him he could develop into a fantastic player.

Agree2 Disagree0

02 Mar 2015 15:13:11
Always puts a smile on my face AH knowing that you missing me lol. I would be happy with any of the 3 but as you say CG would be my personal choice. though ed makes a good point about Brown, he is different class these days.

Agree1 Disagree2

02 Mar 2015 15:44:30
With Biton I think all he needed was a run of games, which untill this season he never got chance.

Im looking forward to seeing fringe players moved on in summer and Deilas plan of a smaller squad. Reason being players like Biton will get chance to develop to their potential and youth players will have a better chance of progressing at club.

Can see a clearout in summer

Agree2 Disagree0

02 Mar 2015 16:00:33
I think I would pick Brown. There was a big improvement in the team when he came back from injury.
I think the other players have responded to him, and their performances have picked up.
I think of all our players, he is the one we would really struggle to replace.

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Mar 2015 16:39:30
ed don't you think that Broony will consistantly miss out on awards like player of the season because everything he does is now expected. Dare I say even taken for granted. If he was a new signing from another country the award would be his Already. Would love to know how many player of the month award he has. With biton I agree with other comments made by others he has been our most improved but only since end of dec when he started getting a run. He has been a massive bonus for us this season but with that will come the epl vultures very soon. If I was pushed I would say
1 johanson 2 Gordon 3 brown but would have no complaints with any of those

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - That's a good point about Brown, I'd never thought about it like that.}

02 Mar 2015 16:42:00
I was on a few weeks ago and suggested Johansen was the nearest thing we have had to Stan Petrov for years and I think the guy can get even better.
He has energy, tenacity, guile, skill and can score goals.
The midfield with him, Brown, Bitton, Armstrong and GMS is the strongest for a few seasons and they are still young men.
The defence has been solid for a while too with Denayer and VVD looking very commanding in most domestic games, while Mathews and Izzy are back to their best; so there are a good few candidates.although the SPFA may vote for Rooney ha ha

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Mar 2015 17:31:32
The thing about broonie is that he does a lot of the dirty/ hard work, that fans don`t see, unless you have played in that position, you cannot fully appreciate the work rate required.

I think Broonie will get POTY.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Mar 2015 19:24:27
@ED007 Is Biton eligible for Young Player of the Year?

@Rayman of course I miss you sweetcheeks but don't be getting any TTTS types of ideas. I only mentioned you because you've been the most vocal about poty and to get a bit of debate going rather than the panty wetting sesion over what's on Twiter

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Good spot, AH, he's 23 so yes he is.}

02 Mar 2015 19:52:09
The best compliment I can pay Brown is that he is maturing into an excellent player and is now reminding me of 1 of my favourite players of last 20 yrs. Paul Lambert.

Agree1 Disagree1

03 Mar 2015 00:53:58
Why not wait untill we get to the end of the season before we decide this, one game, seemingly can change peoples mind of how someone has played over the WHOLE season, for me its between scott brown and craig gordon at the minute, but will wait to the end of the season.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I'm sure it's round about now that the votes are cast.}

03 Mar 2015 01:02:29
Well its Graig gordon for me then.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I remember reading about how early the in the season the votes are cast and thinking how strange it was.}

03 Mar 2015 09:21:57
If we're doing it now then Brown. cprs i've been saying that for ages now. Just a couple seasons ago I had to defend Brown by saying exactly that. Anybody that plays knows what a fantastic player and captain he is. Just glad he's finally getting recognition - although I can also agree he's improved with experience.

Bitton young player for me too. Busquets' replacement one day. Is that a bet that tops your Brown to be Celtic manager Ed?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Have you been into AH (smoking) stash?}

03 Mar 2015 12:36:17
I thought you would have had Craig Gordon as your top pick Ed :)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I thought about it but every other player at the club except Forrest ended up in front of him on my list.}

03 Mar 2015 15:51:38
For every year apart from Scot Brown's first year with Celtic, I would have thought
Scott Brown would have been on most players top three for player of the year. Aindoh I am not sure we need to wait until the final ball is kicked in the season to speculate about player of the year but without any competition over and almost 30% of the SPL still not over, I agree we are much too early speculating to be accurate .

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - The awards ceremony is next month so it's not too early to be speculating about it. I'd hazard a guess that everyone has already received their papers or will be soon if they ceremony is next month.}

02 Mar 2015 07:12:07
If I could have one request it would be for phrases that are used by a minority on twitter to stop appearing on this site!

You have no idea how cringeworthy it is. I know I might get abuse now for writing this but I live in the real world and fire away, it will not make stuff like 'panty wetter' all the more credible.

Stop copying stuff from twitter, cheers in advance x

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I must have missed the memo telling me we were asking posters advice on site content. We only do requests on the 3rd Wednesday of every month, we call it Panty Wetter Wednesday.}

02 Mar 2015 12:10:11
ED007 and Mrs E I have never been on twitter or and the more I hear I am so glad I am not, latest is the young Downs syndrome boy has had some abuse aimed at him on twitter what kind of people are they who would post such vile stuff, they call it "social media" more like "UNSOCIAL media"

Agree1 Disagree3

{Ed007's Note - It's nothing to do with twitter, Tim, there's nothing ever been said on twitter that hasn't been said in pubs and workplaces up and down the country. I've no idea what you're on about with Jay, sorry, was it abuse or an opinion? I know a couple of supporters (one a school teacher) who got abuse on twitter for saying the whole thing had went way overboard and it was time to give it a rest. According to the #celticfamily (puke) you shouldn't be saying that, according to the #celticfamily you're only allowed to think the same as them, anything else sees you accused of 'harming the club'.
You should see some of the posts we have to delete on here, the bleeding heart handwringers would need to give up their job to have enough time to girn and bitch about it and try to get lads the sack or arrested. If there is worse kind of people in our support I've yet to meet them, I'm ashamed to see people like that in our support. They were even backing up the MSM lies about the charity night with Feyenoord fans, a charity night the club backed and a great time was had by all.
Last weekend it was because there were a few wolf whistles at the Accies physio! CFC supporters were accused of being sexist by members of our support - that's the warped mentality of the people we're dealing with.
Who or what gives these people the right to tell others how to behave or how you should be supporting the team?
Yo're better off avoiding twitter mate, it would sadden an old-timer like you to see what a section of our support has become.

02 Mar 2015 13:58:52
whats the view like from up on that big high horse of yours mrs E

Agree2 Disagree1

02 Mar 2015 13:59:03
Like all types of media that uses predictive texts!, I feel most abusers of social media can type quicker than they can think, leading to very dangerous scenarios.

If you wouldn't say it to a persons face, don't say it over the internet.

I can only imagine Ed how much crap you have to delete, couldn't hack it myself.

I must admit I peed myself laughing with your reply to Mrs E, thanks be to God you don't drink is all I can say!

Agree1 Disagree1

02 Mar 2015 14:26:31
ED007 sadly it was an abusive post aimed at young Jay, it's all over BBC and the papers. Your argument about saying things in the pub is one thing, only a few will hear it but if you post something dodgy on line more people will have access to it so surely people must engage their brains more before hitting the send button. I can only imagine the stuff you have to delete ED007 yourself and the other EDS try their best to edit without censorship a big difference, to end, as for twitter can you imagine the abuse I would receive on there when I see what deragatory stuff I receive on here, no twitter you can keep.

Agree1 Disagree2

{Ed007's Note - I've seen it now, Tim and it's disgusting.
My point was that the things are still said so you can't blame twitter for it, blame the people saying it instead of looking for an easy scapegoat.
The thing with twitter is, Timbo, if you don't like what someone says you can block them or mute them so you don't see their posts, and if someone dislikes twitter so much why even be on it?
But then there's nothing left for them to find things to get offended by, they're that nosy they're scared in case they miss something.
I'm rarely on it for the simple reason that's it's all bollocks and has been wasted by the perma-offended members of our support, they've taken the fun out of it. My dad taught me never to trust a grass.}

02 Mar 2015 17:15:49
Glad we've cleared that up and we can stop quoting individual twitter accounts like School Teachers lol

A charity night in a Nightclub (most expensive drink prices in town) well it's a good job it had to be moved to somewhere less expensive is all I can say :-/

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Mar 2015 19:40:49
@Mrs E Didn't I read last week you had left Twitter? You seem to have a bee in your bunnet any time it's mentioned and here you are going on about it AGAIN.

Do you ever challenge the people on it who upset you or just moan on here about it.

It's nice to see you're here to keep us right about what we should and shouldn't be saying but I'm a big Bhoy and can decide fr myself thanks.

It's obvious that the panty wetter jibe hits a nerve and if you've only seen that on Twitter that's nobodys fault but yours, must be the people you mix with up on that high horse edinbhoy mentioned.

What type of person goes on a forum and tries to dictate what can and can't be said because it upsets them!

I don't believe for a minute your sense of self importanc is so high in real life.

You've shown classic panty wetter symptoms over the term panty wetter, that's more ironic than a Alanis Morrisette concert!

I'll try to use it as much as possible now just coz it upsets you :) You should try and be like me , a happy go lucky type of person who happily sits back and watches everyone else get angry over nothing.

Have you ever thought about taking up fishing, the online kind.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Mar 2015 20:12:42
AH, have you ever known anyone to be upset be the phrase? I haven't

The folk using it are usually more upset than anyone.

Do I ever challenge total strangers on social media when I know nothing about them? Bit of a waste of energy is it not considering it could be a couple of high school weans at the wind up. My point, which has went *whoosh* over some heads, was if I want know discuss what's on twitter then I'll discuss it on twitter and I'd prefer not to see it repeated.

Use it as often as you want, as it said, it's cringey and up there with Celtic family :-)
