Celtic Will be playing a 3-4-3 formation under Rodgers. 2 of 4 in midfield will act as wing backs one of which is Tierney. From our current midfield it will be Between Brown Rogic and Johanson who will be staying. This is not taking into account any players Rogers brings in. Front 3 of Roberts griffiths and another which will not be Stokes.

Sorry to disappoint lads but no I ain't Rogers. I know one of the game analysts who works at lennoxtown has just been reappointed to same job he did for Lennon which funnily enough Deila didn't wish to do. Nobody specific role of analysing other teams prior to games these games is mental.

Does he cut the grass at Lennoxtown and has he got a gardening role as well.
Rangers use to have a man like that too& he knew damn all about football.

I'd cry with joy! But I'm pretty sure he said he was too good to go back to Malmö, so that pretty much rules us out haha.

Applaud the new appointment, but again we haven't seen any evidence of a clear out or intent to bring in the calibre of players we deserve - oh and meanwhile it's a case of blind faith as we've to renew our season tickets. PL will be laughing all the way to the bank!

02 Jun 2016 22:58:54
The players aren't back in until 20th of June. Surely you wouldn't want Rodgers to punt players without even meeting them? No matter now bad they are the new manager will want a look at them. Don't renew your ticket if that's your thoughts, it's quite straight forward.

Whilst I still share your pessimism, it's early doors dude.

Last week everyone was optimistic and I foolishly thought Rodgers would probably get 6 months of a honeymoon period before our begrudgers would start trying to destroy his and the team's confidence . Now one week on with nothing to go on only daft rumours from the MSSM, some are beginning to have doubts .
Surely it's better that B R hasn't rushed to get a signing any signing to please some whether than waiting for a worthwhile player.

We could easily afford zlatan. We would only need to play Gordon, efe and zlatan. And win every game in the league.

I have had a feeling that the big man was going to sign for us. Did he not say previously that he wanted to play for Celtic one day. He hasn't committed anything with regards to Man Utd. Imagine the faces across at the asbestos dome if we got him.

It couldn't happen could it? 2nd favourite to sign for us now. Could put my season book up to £2000 if we signed him I'd happily pay it. We can only dare to zlatan after all.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jun 2016 16:27:55
He certainly doesn't need the money and could easily afford to live off what we'd be able to offer him . But would his ego allow him to?

02 Jun 2016 16:45:36
he could do what beckham did at psg, give his wages to charity, i remember him saying he would like to finish his career with us.

02 Jun 2016 17:19:42
I also mind him saying about Beckham it was good him giving his wage to the Paris children charity but the children should pay him for being in Paris. 😂 got to love him.

Re beckham.
I Never bought completely into the whole noble soul giving his wages to charity gig. He was still making millions from sponsorship. Someone more savvy might be able to shed a bit more light on this. Did he not work for "free" to avoid French wealth tax? Again I could be wrong but I was told that he would of had to declare 1.5% of his holding and wealth and be taxed on it to even work in France in the first place?

So what is everyone's thoughts on Rodgers going for Liverpools Joe Gomez on loan (reported in S*n today) ? Bit underwhelmed with the loan element as we would have no chance of signing him after, but prefered position is CB can play both LB or RB very well apparently. Seen him playing LB myself a few times and looked a very tiday player so kind of not sure how I feel about it myself. could be good back up for all 4 postions at the back I suppose.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

02 Jun 2016 12:47:05
Sounds like the papers guessing to me I can't see us doing many loan signings to be honest! He would be another Denayer great for a season but no realistic chance of us ever signinging him permanently waste of time in my eyes we need to build a solid foundation at the back.

Agree2 Disagree0

02 Jun 2016 13:02:39
Six month loan deal is pointless.
We should not be taking any loans in if there is no option to buy

Agree2 Disagree0

02 Jun 2016 13:07:09
hope he dosent sign anyone for back up tompo, when he signs players i'm hoping its the level of player that should be first choice, i think by clearing the club of players first is a good sign, i just hope that we don't leave it late as seasons b4, would like our buisness done early for a change.

Agree2 Disagree0

02 Jun 2016 13:22:10
Never been a fan of loan signings as we have had a very mixed bag over the years and if they do work out like Denayer did - it only papers over the cracks and doesn't have a long term benefit to team building and consistency and we have problems finding similar replacements.
If I remember correctly, only Samaras became permanent after a loan period and that had mixed fortunes.

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Jun 2016 14:11:34
Fraser foster as well which worked out rather well!

Agree2 Disagree0

02 Jun 2016 16:25:34
I personally have no issue with using the loan system if its the right player in the right position. Fraser Forster was a great loan signing and eventually signed full time and brought in a good transfer fee for us. If the player isn't realistically going to move permanently then they should be here either to cover long term injury, part of a bigger plan like being in place of a youth player who is out on loan gaining first team experience before coming into our own first team or like Roberts is an exceptional talent and is a long term loan. We've had too many dud loans who have barely played and must have cost the club a fortune in fees and wages.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jun 2016 20:00:08
But it is the 6 month part of it, what would be the point of a six month loan, is crazy.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jun 2016 20:49:03
We wouldn't take him for 6 months we are looking for a year. Similar to Roberts Man City were only keen for 6 months deal, but we persisted and got the 18 month loan sorted so anything is possible.

Hey bhoys and ghirls new member and first post 🍀 I reckon breaking the wage budget sounds good but could cause unrest in the dressing room. Absolutely delighted to have BR i live his brand of football and he reminds me of Tommy Burns and I was at paradise when he was introduced and the atmosphere was incredible. We are entering a new era that is going to be special and the board and DD deserve massive credit and have taken rangers seriously. I think BR will have targets in mind and he knows the English market and there is hidden gems in there but we need to trim squad then he will have a look and knows what he needs. Hail Hail.

02 Jun 2016 10:36:50
apparently 46000 ST sold so far lads, I've got the fever for the new season myself, looking forward to the first signing, might give us a clue to the calibre of players were going aftert.

The fans have responded, any thing less of a world class striker or creative midfielder will be a kick on the teeth from Lawwell and his sidekick.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

02 Jun 2016 09:46:00
no world class striker will come to scotland ttts, i do however think that we will sign a better calibre of player, i don't see how you can give the manager a massive wage and not the players.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jun 2016 10:34:11
I can't see us getting any world class players TTTS but it wouldn't be a stretch to buy much better than what we have recently.

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Jun 2016 12:22:53
Agree there lads! No world class player will come to Scotland, not a chance! But there's plenty of quality players out there who would if we just upped the wages. and this it would cause dressing room unrest to me is nonsense! Ever since I started watching football the better players get payed bigger money! If someone came in on a bigger wage than what any of our current players are on and they had the cheek to complain after what they've served up these past couple of seasons, then they can leave the club! It really is as simple as that. your Scott Browns of the team are on wages way above what his ability actually merits! Bring 3 or 4 quality guys in on 30-35 grand a week mark and get rid of 7 or 8 of the deadwood taking money for doing hee haw! Its not rocket science!

Agree3 Disagree0

02 Jun 2016 20:18:34
surely we expect a reduced role in the selection of players by Lawwell and his side kick.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jun 2016 20:32:53
If we had world class players, then, surely we could have got a reasonable manager from say the third division, if he was any kind of manager he would sweep all before him with world class players, surely the point of paying all this money to a manager is for him to get average players to play like world class players, to take a team that was underperforming and to manage it in the right way so that it started playing at a much higher level of performamce,

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Jun 2016 21:46:03
Aindoh One of the reasons B Rodgers is now our Manager is to encourage a better class of player to the club . If u pay the manager pea nuts u are likely to have monkeys as players .
