So a move is afoot to remove (allow out as planned) Mathers and Stockbridge before sevco accounts are published? Joining green and Ahmad on the walk away job done travellator. Green in the building temporarily to make it happen.

Green tells them job done club saved you've got your history, no titles stripped, we bag the cash, cheerio now you get on with it.

Easy work and easy money when there's a compliant helpful SFA.

The truth is that this is actually a criminal enterprise designed to defraud creditors and investors but is covered up as the authorities are too weak or have no motivation to do anything. It happens every day. CW is the architect of this 'good old switcheroo'. The history of those 2 football clubs is a pollution of the sport.

Get bus number 2, 61 or 255 and they will drop you off at Janefield St next to the Forge Retail Park.I'm sure there will be tims on board so you know where to get off.

You can't send the guy to parkhead without sampling the gallowgate! Get onto argyle st and walk up from there, plenty of good celtic pubs with the songs blaring, along with a few pints it gets you pumping for the game.I'm sure it's to be dry for most part of the day, so the walk shoul be good.

Just seen Peraltas celebrations after his goal for Sevco on Wed . Durrant s reaction is priceless . Wonder if that celebration will catch on? DH

Believable0 Unbelievable0

What did he do and where is is the clip mate. green jhedi

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry to say GJ it has been removed from everywhere . I saw it on You Tube last night and I know it was on their official Sevco website . They are still advertising the video of the goal but guess what, nothing . Peralta scores a peach of a free kick and celebrates by running over to the bench . When he gets there he blesses himself . Durrant looks dumbfounded and turns to Sneaky who has been clapping the goal but immediately stops then folds his arms and turns his back on the player . Just wonder if we, ll hear anything in the unbiased and unbigoted MSM about it . FFS Sneaky wants to cleanse the place . I see where he's coming from now . DH {Ed007's Note - I can't find it anywhere either now DH, I seen it earlier, but the link my mate sent me has been removed. Maybe the 'Dark Forces' at work again.....

I see the laptop loyal were up to their old tricks again yesterday by asking our new signing about the tribute act in the 2nd division . Couldn't our club just pre warn players when they sign to answer questions about Sevco with the reply " They are not my problem and don't concern me " . It was the same when Balde signed, when they gave him a scarf and told him to kiss it only to make fun of him in all the Sunday Zombie columns . I just wonder what slimeball asked him the question . Suppose it could have been 99% of the so called journos who were there . DH

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Gotta admit I was fekn raging when I heard that. This is a Dutch player being signed by Celtic what on earth have a first division club got to do with it? Our PR people need to make it clear, no questions about sevco or it will be your last presser. green jhedi

For the first time I had a proper look at Alfred Finnbogason of Heerenveen. I know YouTube can make many an average player look like a world beater but this lad looks like he's a bit of class. He doesn't seem to do much other than stand in the right place at the right time to poke the ball into the net but sure isn't that the main role of a striker?
He has that second sense of knowing where the ball will end up. Looks like he'd be worth a punt if Lenny can prise open the hands of Lawwell & Co.

Chico Green returns to the sevvies in advisory role, timing couldn't be more of a slap in the chops for the poor deluded zombies.

Sold as many season books as they are going to sell so its time for the Yorkshire racist to bring his embarrassing lies and sounbites back into Scottish football haha.

Seriously though when will this mob cotton on? The way that club treats there fans is a disgrace, to the point it bothers me a wee bit which is something that's surprises me. Probably Because the only newco fans I talk to or associate myself with are good lads who have been put through the ringer over the last few years. Where is the fight though, the fan power? They just lie down and take it.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Practically hours after Mathers rabble rousing speech to boot! I wonder how much Chuckles will charge in 'consultancy fees'? Looks like Kevin Doyle is going to be the striker to fire us to euro glory. what the hell are they playing at @CP? I'm sure he will score goals in the Prem but so will Watt, Stokes, Sammy and Balde. What is the point in getting rid of all the dead wood (Murphy et al) and then bringing in more? Why don't we just sign Dion Dublin, Ian Wright and J P Doumbe again? A little ambition goes a long way. Please give us something to get mildly excited about.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We need to get past this obsession with Doyle and his scoring record. Has it occurred to anyone that he was brought in to do a different job? I watched Doyle play up front alone for a season at Wolves.Any time I saw him he done exceptionally well in this role. This is what I think he is wanted for. Think back to Europe last year, how many times did the ball stick up top for us while our midfield got up to support? Not much I would say. In this role he will do a job I have no doubt. green jhedi

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought doumbe played well for us just unlucky with injuries but agree with the rest of the post
Baccibhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

If we are bringing Doyle in for his hold-up play and experience; who do we have that will score 30 goals a season?

Jungle Jim

Agree0 Disagree0

Gj,, the obsession is because a stikers main job is to score goals, 27 goals in 4 seasons is shocking for any striker of any type eg poacher target man, if he comes and leads the line and his poor scoring rate continues where do the goals come from , I can't see our midfield dramatically upping their goal rates with doyle leading the line, if we sign him and no other striker would you be happy going into the coming season?would you honestly rather have doyle than say finnbogason,,, deep river bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

@deep river bhoy; Of course I would rather have Finnbogason mate, but I just can't see it happening. On Doyle, it depends on who Lenny has coming from midfield and the shape we play. let's say Doyle up front with a five man midfield, that would allow three men to burst forward. When this works it is hard to counter, in the SPL it would murder teams. green jhedi

Agree0 Disagree0

Gj, we have lost a proven goalscorer and imo we should try to get another of the same ilk or better in, and this should/could take the pressure of balde (or even watt, atajic) to prove he is that target man we need, i'm not acting the james hunt but I think doyle is an honest hardworking but very average player, anyway according to other posts it seems nl has said we have no interest in him ,,,, deep river bhoy

Elfsborg will need to come out from a defensive posture and try to score next week. For me, this means Celtic will capitalise on our chances and score a few.
Still awaiting that marquee top drawer striker though. The kind of guy that brings fans through the turn styles.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

02 Aug 2013 11:23:02
Like many of you I had assumed that with last season's CL money and the sale of Wanyama and Hooper that we would be in a strong position to make a couple of really strong signings with excellent pedigree. Yes we have made a few signings but we have lost a few too and I wonder if we really are going to be any stronger than we were last season.
We keep hearing that the CL group stages are holy grail as far as financial rewards are concerned yet we seem quite content to play fast and loose with our real chances of qualifying this season. We might make it but we could easily go out next week too. It's all a bit too close for comfort in my opinion. And unnecessarily so too.
Am I alone in this line of thinking?

Hail Hail
ChrisBhoy

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think we all have that fear mate.Even a victory next week leaves us with another tricky tie to negotiate. We need to face facts as well.We carried a slice of luck last year and were torched by Juve when it ran out. If the worst comes to the worst and we wind up in the Europa league I would expect a decent run in that though. green jhedi

Agree0 Disagree0

We did carry some luck as we were out-played in most games but we managed 10 points and then came down to earth with a bump. But we gained respect.
The SPL campaign was also not our best with a lot of dropped points in a so called one-horse league, but we still are the Scottish Champions and should be aiming for the Champions league EVERY season.
The club sold arguably, our too best players and have been reluctant to replace them and that is a big worry for a club that hopes to compete at the highest level. We have more than enough cash to buy even one 'class' player who can score the 20/30 goals a season needed to compete on all fronts.
The Europa league is a real possibilty, but it will be seen as failure and will hurt us financially as well.

Jungle Jim

reading we have upped our offer for doyle, I hope this isn't the cheapest option striker we are going for again, he is 30 in september, has had two good seasons in his carreer (19 twice) and in the last four seasons he hasn't broken the 10 goal barrier and scored only 27 goals, now I have no doubt that if he signed he would be a hard working player but is this good enough and is he even better than stokes?, on a lighter note we now have derk sammi commons ledley mulgrew vying for a lw/lm position and young forrest on the right himself, lennys favourite indeed,,,,, deep river bhoy

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Ledley has always been a central midfielder. Lenny played him there but he will move in to centre mid this season. Mulgrew will move to centre back he is more of a lennys pet than Forrest is.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lennys pet? What is happening with celtic fans these days, totally miserable. Charlie is one of our best players and gets into the team on merit. I feel much better with him at cb than Ambrose or Wilson

Hi bhoys and ghirls, after wed night performance I would be willing to take Kevin Doyle for a minimum fee, now before you all shoot me down in flames here is why . He is an international in a descent rep Ireland squad he has a lot of experience playing at a high level, he is very good in the air and will give a lot of help to balde and watt, I watched celtic sign Sutton who was dead in the water at Chelsea and we all remember him. give him a chance . and another thing the only way amido balde is going to get settled at park head is if you play him, he is very capable and can be great but he's got to give him a game the lad cost a lot of money and was a regular in the Portuguese league which is a lot better than ours! Comebacks welcome!

There's got to be a good striker sitting on the bench somewhere in Europe for a big club who isn't getting a game as the first striker is outstanding.
We'll probably get another loan deal as I said a few weeks ago, similar to Miku.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

02 Aug 2013 10:02:13
One paper saying we've increased our bid for Kevin Doyle to £750k. I cannot believe our club thinks a 750k striker from tier 3 in England is what we need. Totally ridiculous if true. His stats are crap and he's slow and too old.
CL is fraction of a second stuff. That's what gets goals.
Hooper missed chances as he was fraction of a second out. Not about bad luck or anything else, just not quick enough.
Celtic need a proven goalscorer in group stages.

This guy Doyle isn't as good as dozens of strikers in the championship, so why are we even considering him? We need a £5m man.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

02 Aug 2013 09:32:17
Really sad at our constant link of signing Kevin Doyle to replace Hooper. Surely there must be someone younger, more mobile, player than this guy, I am not expecting Celtic to spend the entire Hooper transfer on one player. But surely our scouting system should have given us a chance of buying in someone again, who could hopefully do the business then in a couple of years move him on for a substantial profit. This is a step back and will backfire on Lennon.

Big Jason.

When you see the money Real Madrid are going to spend on Bale, from a country that is almost bust and people can't get a job, its a bit sick .on top of that the way the "champions League" is set up to suit four or five countries .Surely something has to give, football is not the game we love anymore, has not been for quite a while with smaller countries not given a chance, unfortunately another Lisbon Lions just can't happen.cheer up eh!

I think it incredible that celtic supporters come on here and slag the so called red tops when a poll is being conducted here to see if Anthony stokes should receive a new contract and the bad mouthing of so called supporters (BET HALF OF THEM DO GO TO CELTIC PARK AND WATCH THE TEAM ), I've one thing to say do you remember the great come back at rugby park and which player started it!, he's still young and I, ll be taking my seat on Saturday and cheering the champions that's every player who pulls on the hoops hail hail

Believable0 Unbelievable0

02 Aug 2013 08:33:37
Although it is early days, it does seem as though Amido Balde is not good enough. And from what I've seen in the friendly matches he is very slow with a 1st touch like an elephant.Seems a waste of 1.8m to me and would have been better put towards a striker with a better goal scoring record ie Finbogassan, Hossiner etc. Wot do u guys think of Balde? Hail Hail Gbhoy.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Early days but you could be right.
Looks like we've opted for four 2 million guys instead of two four million game changers. We need game changers but are going for our limit two million bargain basket as usual. Same old strategy Peter gives you same old results, we have an opportunity to really up our game with this cash.

Commercially, we've only really had four recent good successes; McGeady, Ki, Wanyama and hooper. But you can stack up 15 expensive forgettable guys against that, Lawwell and Lenny's record on spending our money needs improvement. Doyle isn't the answer to the striker question at Celtic park.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not one league match played and you think he isn't good enough, we better get rid of him then, you probably want nl out the door as he hasn't won the league yet,,, deep river bhoy

02 Aug 2013 08:33:10
Jordan Rhodes not getting talked about much anywhere just now, would be great signing for the hoops even though could be expensive would be worth it in my opinion. don't see him getting linked with many clubs, anyone know if there have been any real offers put in for him from any clubs?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

02 Aug 2013 10:07:40
It's sad to see that we're going back in with another bid for Doyle at all, let alone the fact that we could, and should, be spending more than £750k on a replacement for Hooper, a 'goalscorer', at European or International level. Aye Doyle will 'do a job' but is that all we're aiming for these days? There's time yet, for the optimist inside me at least, but the activity in this transfer window is largely concerning so far and a bit of a p!$$ take to be quite frank. Yes, keep one eye on the financial future of the club, but come on Peter, what we've raked in the past year we at least deserve better than this.

Having lost Wanyama and Hooper, both of whom were brilliant at connecting with the midfield, does anyone else thing that Bangura looked like he could do a job for Celtic in the same sort of way Hooper did with his link up play? I'm not saying for a moment he could do everything Hooper did, but that sort of fluency and directness seems like something we could use at times.
