Would like to see Bain keep the No 1 shirt regardless of Gordons fitness. He has done well, hopefully the good performances continue and he plays until the end of the season and we get him on a long term deal. Would rather see someone else come in to challenge Bain next season and have Hazard out on loan again for the season.

I think Brendan Rodgers remembers who has served him well and despite some fans on here faulting Gordon before he had even put the gloves on to play for us Gordon has served us well with his consistent level of performance .
Bain has done well in the few games he has played and Celtic would be well served next season if both keepers were available.

03 Apr 2018 21:41:32
I would choose Bain over him already on what i have seen Chris.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Bain's a better goalkeeper than Gordon.}

03 Apr 2018 23:34:04
Ed007 .
Are you an impartial observer, I remember you saying Gordon wasn't good enough before he put on a pair of boots at Celtic .
You doubted if his body would stand up to the strains of SPL
You know ED I am the first to praise you and agree with you when you get it right .
I hope u allow me to point out when you are wrong.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - How many big games has Gordon's mistakes cost us in even back to RD's time and remind us all how long has he been out injured for? When he signed I said it might not be next week but at some point he will pick up another serious injury, I just hoped it was during an open transfer window.... Voila, Chateauneuf du Pape!
I don't think in hindsight anyone can truthfully say that we never took the cheap option in signing Gordon and could and should have signed better. Do we need to go over all his mid air flaps, getting beat at his near post, his awful distribution and palming the ball into opposition players feet AGAIN?
Remember Brendan Rodgers wanted to replace him with DDV, what does that tell you? On what planet could anyone think DDV was better than Gordon? Was Brendan THAT desperate to replace Craig Gordon?}

04 Apr 2018 07:42:29
I rated Gordon before he came to Celtic Chris. Since then no, flaps at cross balls and his distibution with the ball at his feet is nothibg other than woeful. Dinking the ball over opposing players heads and more often than not kicking the ball out of the park. Not what i like to see in a Celtic keeper. We should have taken the cash Chelsea offered and got rid. Bain is my No 1 at the moment and i hope next season we bring someone else in to fight for No 1 position hopefully Angus Gunn. Ditch CG and DDV.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Apr 2018 13:11:49
I have always had a soft spot for CG but he is not a good no1. He is a brilliant reactive shot-stopper but he is not a modern goalie. Everyone above has commented on distribution, flapping etc. Great and happy to stay on the goal line but modern day goalies are a lot more than that.

Do you think we will sell Boyata, Compper, and Simonovic in the summer and buy new central defenders and should we bid for McKenna.
On a side issue hasn't the development been very poor this year or is this only because of the young age of the squad. Would a change of coaches be in the offing.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

02 Apr 2018 16:46:39
Can't see Compper leaving or any coaches changing.
As for Mckenna we already have better young CBs at parkhead so wouldn't touch him either.

We won the league on this date last year we're not far away this year.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Apr 2018 17:31:41
Kev . mckenna is a natural left sided cb our current ones are all right (footed) sided (If memory serves) apart from comper and that s why he was brought in? Even in youths I think robbie deas is only left sided cb (and he can fill in at lb) . get him out on loan to see how he cuts it at all level? If money was right it wouldn't harm the team to buy him and even loan him back to Aberdeen for season / 18 month as people are always pointing out how we let guys like McCarthy get away.

Agree7 Disagree0

02 Apr 2018 18:09:01
DRB it doesn't matter if he's left sided if he won't get in the team. He won't improve the squad one bit.
We have 2 really young centre backs. We have an older experienced CB. We need someone between the 2. Someone with good experience but time on his side. Not another young project signing.

02 Apr 2018 18:35:49
I'd take McKenna, thought we should have bid for him in the window before he signed a new contract.

Agree1 Disagree1

02 Apr 2018 18:56:39
Ajer has proved that you don't have to be old or experienced to be the stand out CB.

Agree1 Disagree0

03 Apr 2018 18:50:06
If Rodgers can persuade Boyata to sign a new contract then Boyata would be a very good asset to have . I don't know why we would sign a player of Compper's experience and sell him without giving him a worthwhile run of games
Why in the name of God would we be changing coaches . An attacking team and the least goals conceded and many of these down to one off individual error . Yet someone wants to change the coaches .
McKenna, I don't know enough about but I think he was substitute against us recently . I am all for buying Spl players but I would normally want them regulars with their team.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Apr 2018 10:49:26
Persuade boyata! Good asset to have! What utter pish that is. boyata shouldnโ€™t be anywhere near the first team and if weโ€™re trying to persuade him to stay then I hold no hope for us in European football next season! Boyata is no better than ambrsose, and he was Shoite! If we want to do anything in Europe next year then boyata and jozo canโ€™t be our first choice Centre halfs!

Letter to the SFA So once again the SFA embarrasses football by taking no further action against Andrew Davies of Ross county for his criminal tackle on Scott Brown. If that crime had been committed outside a nightclub on a Saturday night the perpetrator would be facing charges of aggravated assault. In addition if the tackle had been the other way around Scott Brown would not play again this season. This association is rotten from the very top all the way down. No wonder Scottish football is a laughing stock when it's management are a joke and a clown outfit which would gracbecome involved and destroy once and for all the charade that you believe is the correct and proper way to run football in this country. e any circus. I truly hope that against all the rules you grant rangers another illegal licence to play in European competition and UEFA.

A Celtic Blog site I am on in facebook had a member post about her sons' team winning the Fleetwood football tournament in Blackpool yesterday with Finnart fc
Dion Dublin was the guest at the presentation and when he was giving his speech he said "And I played for the biggest team in Scotland" a Gers fan in the audience shouted "2nd biggest team in Scotland! " to which Big Dion Dublin replied really? Do you support Kilmarnock ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ place erupted ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ€.

All our injured players are getting their fitness back and should be right up for a hunskelping. Wee Bain looks more comfortable every game. looking forward to securing the Final and the League in the next couple of weeks.

I agree that we have plenty of options - fully fit - and a much superior squad to choose from and confidence will be very high.
My only concern would be Boyata, but we have Lustig, Simunovic, Ajer, Hendry and KT to choose from.
Sevco and their media mates, were bumping their gums big-style before the 10 man win at Ibrox and I believe that they gave it their all and it still came up short - and since then they have been well and truly put back in their coffin. So we can only throw this away?

I have no problem with Boyota leaving, if that is what he and BR wants . However it puts a bad taste in my mouth when half drunks by their abuse at games gives him and Brendan little option .

I was delighted with Paddy Roberts little cameo in the one minute of additional time on Saturday . Pity so many of our fans missed it as it was the first bit of real brilliance Paddy has delivered during this loan period . Hopefully his injuries are behind him and he can demonstrate his greatness in the later games of the season.

having watched it few times from different angles there is only one conclusion, davies deliberately tried to END THE CAREER of broony. there can be no other decision.

The ball was beyond Broony, and davies, he actually waits for him to fall before going in, seen a chance to END A FELLOW PRO'S CAREER.

It was one of, maybe the worst, cowards tackle i have ever seen. Anything other than banned till next season, and maybe a carry over would be in order given the violence in the tackle, will be unacceptable.

Believable2 Unbelievable5

02 Apr 2018 10:52:56
Can you imagine the coverage and headlines had it been a Celtic player who committed that assault on the field. People like Davies are cowards there is many in Scottish football who can't compete against Broonies strength and skill. Davies will get to test his skills against similar like players next season, in the Championship where they belong. The quicker bigger clubs like St Mirren, Dundee Utd etc replace this dross the better.

What I cannot believe is that the MSM are talking about him only getting a 2 match ban and nothing else.
As other people have said, if Broony or any other Celtic player had done that the media and other managers would have been screaming for a 6 month ban.

Not only is the two match ban pathetic but the SFA and the so called Compliance department are also pathetic and have but one goal in life and that is keep the Rangers afloat, no matter what rules and laws are broken . In the meantime players can kick, punch and stop us in whatever way they want and if the referee happens to card the offender, minimum punishment will result.
