Apparently NL is trying to arrange a bounce game to get LG some match sharpness. I said a few week's ago I thought the wee man's day's at Paradise could be numbered and if I'm wrong I'll be delighted, seeing him back doing what he does best - scoring goals for Glasgow's Green and White - HH.

Will need him if Ajeti is going to be out for a bit and - worse case scenario - thee is a big offer for Eddy?

29 Sep 2020 23:43:30
He is mercurial, might just be the difference we need this year. One thing he does well is score goals, just a dafty at times. Which we all can be lol.

Ajeti should be back for the filth game if it goes ahead .

Just saw a clip of Charlie Nicholas goal over in Holland against Ajax from early 80s what a player he was. crap pundit tho.

I can remember listening to the game as a youngster on the radio and when the last minute winner put Celtic through, I was jumping on the bed. Good memories.

Same buzz think mcluskey got the other one and that was after a 2-2 draw at paradise.

Big Billy had built a great team in the early 80's and apart from the goalkeeper (s) , I think were all Scots - as far as I can remember?
Danny McGrain, Davie Provan, Tommy Burns, Murdo Mcleod, Roy Aitken Charlie Nicholas, Frank McGarvie, George Mcluskey and Tam McAdam, among others. I think Davie Hay took over not long after for a very mixed period, before Cesar came back for the amazing Centenary Year.

Nicholas was a cracking player, although his punditary cheapens what he did on the pitch. I preferred McCluskey to McGarvey as his striking partner as McGarvey was a headless chicken. He hadn't a clue what he was going to do next and when that is the case though the defenders hadn't a clue either which could open up possibilities.

Sadly, we had the death of Johnny Doyle In the early 80s.

Agree2 Disagree0

29 Sep 2020 20:36:40
For years after Johnny Doyle’s death there was a great framed photo in our living room of Johnny with my parents taken at a supporters dance.
I can remember Johnny and my dad with massive knots in their ties.
That must’ve been the fashion back then.

We’ve got to applaud the club for making this happen especially with Celtic playing away from home.
At least the club are doing all they can to soften the blow for paying out for season tickets the fans can’t attend.
Yet if we listened to the noise we are in serious financial trouble.
If that was the case Celtic would be charging the season ticket holders extra at every opportunity, similar to what Sevco Scotland are doing to their gullible supporters.

29 Sep 2020 16:11:38
What s the scoop there buzz what are they getying charged for mate.

Agree1 Disagree0

29 Sep 2020 19:11:26
Under normal circumstances our fans would get the first European home game free with our season tickets and then we would have to pay for the rest of the qualifying home matches,
Celtic gave both our home qualifying games with our season tickets and today they have announced we will also get our playoff away game included.
Premier sports showed the Riga game.
The Sevco fans had to pay for both games in Gibraltar and Holland.
I’ve no doubts they will also be forced to pay for their home game against Galatasaray because if it was for free, it would be all over the media by now.
But according to the Sevco fans they are financially secure.

Agree1 Disagree0

29 Sep 2020 19:12:07
Buzz the priest at Mass on Sunday asked me ‘are you still paying for 2 season tickets to watch Celtic in the hoose? That’s what I call charity. ’ And you’re wanting me to applaud the club for me getting to see a game on feckn pass. Forgive me for being feckn underwhelmed. 😂.

29 Sep 2020 20:27:46
Surprise, Surprise
Sevco season ticket holders will have to pay £10 for their home game against Galatasaray.
Non-season ticket holders £15.
I know what your saying JFP but under the circumstances Celtic are trying their best.

29 Sep 2020 21:17:25
Do u think they’ll have the cheek to charge for any possible group stage games even though they’ll be on bt sports.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Sep 2020 21:38:31
They are capable of anything Steph.
Starting from this season going forward,
Sevco came up with a plan to charge their fans an extra £50 every season for the luxury of having their names put in a ballot for away matches.
All these extra expenses their gullible fans have been charged in their desperation to try and stop Celtic winning 10 In A Row.
I think they will be demanding refunds when they realise it’s all been for nothing.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Sep 2020 23:08:09
They won't demand refunds, they are the goose that lays the golden egg, and the goose can't stop laying, and The rangers know this, and will exploit it anyway they can.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Sep 2020 13:22:53
yep they will pay there £10 and shut it,
The celtic board etc and management are handling things convincing a wee win tomorrow lads will do nicely for me. one game at a time.
does anyone know the stats to how well we started compared to other years,

Eds what are we hoping for this busy week? We have deadline day coming Monday with twi games ahead of that in top of this we have i think an extra day in europe to have inbetween games so in terms of getting players in will it be left to last min or just to be tied up by Monday.

{Ed007's Note - I can't put a timescale on when signings will happen but games being played won't affect it.}

Cool so lwb in hopefully and keep the rest.

{Ed007's Note - LB/LWB and probably a RW (Atsu?) as well. As things stand I will be surprised if Ntcham is still here when the window closes and I think it's touch and go with Christie.}

29 Sep 2020 14:00:15
The last left footed CB Celtic signed was Martin Compper and he only played one or two games for Celtic.
The last left footed CB to play regular for Celtic was Charlie Mulgrew under Ronnie Deila.
I’ve counted 14 right footed players who have played CB for Celtic since the prodigal son.
Maybe it’s a lucky omen not to play a left CB in our team because we have won every domestic competition since the days of Charlie and Ronnie.

Buzz Bomb my friend Enrico agrees. Celtic are doing the business and have been since Charlie last wore the hoops.

Enrico thinks the team is looking good and like capitano Broony says we have more gears to move up.

Was Kelvin Wilson left footed? I know he played LCB but can't remember which foot he preferred.

Kelvin Wilson was another right footer and after him Van Dyke and Jason Denayer were also right footers.

I know some people may not like this comment but if we were to sell Ajer, Ntcham, Christie and Eduoard before the end of the transfer window I would still be able to forsee us winning the league even without any replacements coming in.
Let me explain: Ajer position could be taken by El Hammed with Welsh on the bench Soro for Ntcham Turnbull for Christie and Griffiths for Eduoard with young stars stepping up.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

29 Sep 2020 14:08:54
I think we could lose ntcham and it wouldn't be a big loss we have turnbull soro and bitton to step in and when he does get a chance he never really takes it.

Agree1 Disagree0

29 Sep 2020 14:27:18
Couldn’t agree more Jonace, 3 of them have been touting themselves from China to the states since June, and eddy has now downed tools. The replacements that you have outlined are good enough and with more money in the bank we can buy well in January.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Sep 2020 14:30:04
Losing two of them wouldn't be the end of the world, especially if it was Ajer and Christie but if we lost all four there is no hope in hell of securing the ten without bringing in first team ready players. I for one would love if we sold Ajer for a big fee and had a good replacement, I think he is a liability for us right now and it seems clear that he wants to move onto, what he thinks are bigger and better things.

Losing Eddy would be a disaster, a fully fit and motivated Griffiths is unplayable but our backup in Klimala is still unproven and I fear if we had a longish injury to either Griff or Ajeti, we could struggle for goals without Eddy.

On bbc website there is an article about andy halliday signing for hearts and it says "he knows how to win. "

However, they missed out ". feck all".

Believable4 Unbelievable0

29 Sep 2020 11:02:20
The BBC should’ve changed the headline to “he knows how to win minor competitions” and that’s probably why Hearts signed him for the Championship.
Halliday won a minor league medal with Livingston in the 3rd Division.
He also won 2 minor medals in his time with Sevco,
A Championship minor league medal and a minor Challenge cup medal against Peterhead.

I was reading denis berkcamp is looking to get back into coaching.

In the article he said he would like to be involved in developing young players and helping them transition to the first team.

He also said he loves golf.

I think he could achieve both his goals and Celtic and our youth could benefit greatly learning from such a great player.

Come on Lawwell make it happen.
