Is there any chance the game will be on tv on Wednesday? Hope the Norwegians sell the rights over here.

{Ed007's Note - I'm sure someone said it was on that Premier Sports.}

{Ed007's Note - My nephew said he paid to get the Linfield match on and they charged him for the game and a Β£5 registration fee so keep an eye on that if you're going to get it.}

30 Jul 2017 00:36:58
on sly I think you need to pay for a month, so if you paid just before the first linfield youd be okay.

its a con tho, bt have the rights but chose to pass it to premier, probably a subsidiary. I got BT Sports free with ee - beam to the tv so ill be okay if they progress,

I thought ed said earlier on in the week that teams held their own rights to the qualifier's if that is the case it must-have been Celtic that sold the rights to premier sports .

yep I got a got hd line on the last game. (lol welshyvision)

Good picture but there was a pop up kept coming up in the middle of the screen during the whole game.

Evening all, I'm know back in my Hotel.
I was at the Sunderland game today with my wife and daughter. I believe there was a bit of trouble after the match. After leaving the bar about 6pm the Police stopped us and advised us to go a different road. They said Sunderland fans had started trouble a few streets down. I never seen any trouble. If this is true, I'm vvery disappointed. We where drinking with Sunderland fans before and after the game and they couldn't have been any nicer.
I hope everyone is ok?
But I can't let this deflect from the the great day I had with my family and supporting the team I love.
Hail Hail.

That's reassuring to hear GT, good to hear you and family had a good day.
But unfortunately Tony Robinson the right wing bigoted idiot intimidated our fans waring an appropriate suitable Sevco top.
Hope the local constabulary will charge him for intimidating trouble to the Celtic fans?
As if lol. πŸ€£πŸ˜‚.

Cheers LeedsCelt, my daughter has now showed me the footage of the scum bag Tony not very bright Robinson!
He's going on about a Celtic fan with a Union Jack on his face. He preaches EDL crap, but doesn't relies it only becomes a Union Jack when it's on a Flag Post on a Navy Ship.
These people haven't got a clue or the intelligence to have a debate on anything!

The atmosphere was brilliant before the game apart from where the edl tool was in Hendon. Quite a few of us sat in the east stand amongst the mackems and there was only friendly banter. After the match the mood in the town centre changed as it seemed every bouncer was telling the locals that our fans had been attacking kids and women and refusing to let us in with our colours on. Went back to the premier inn about 9 and shortly after two bhoys stumbled in having just been bottled up the road.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jul 2017 10:53:39
Is it really true that Celtic fans attacked a shop that Robinson was in with flares and stones and other missiles,?, or was that a made up story,

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jul 2017 11:35:03
I heard that some of our youngsters were provoked but I think most of its edl propaganda.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jul 2017 11:52:29
Was reading again that there is videos posted on line showing 20 or 30,Celtic fans throwing flares and missiles at fletchers off-licence, no amount of provocation should justify that,

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - You got a link to the video? I've seen a few from the shop and not seen any flares or that. I read Robinson had been instigating and provoking trouble all week - which the police are investigating - and as usual he had his juiced up hired goons in the area causing trouble and when the Celtic fans turned up Robinson as usual shat it and locked hmself in the shop until his Klansman got back there to protect him.
Were the missiles SAM missiles in the sky?}

This incident Ed? There's something smoking seems to get popped through the door before they all run off.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - That's not a flare it's a smokebomb but what a bunch of complete idiots - did none of them think to use a petrol bomb? It is Tommy Robinson in there after all.}

30 Jul 2017 12:31:13
Looked more like a smokebomb to me too.

30 Jul 2017 12:49:53
Nah, couldn't find anything apart from a flare was lobbed into the shop, the headlines and Robinson said flares and bricks and missiles, but the report says, a flare, singular,

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - And we all know that one daft smoke bomb doesn't make a sensational anti-Celtic support headline for their rags.}

30 Jul 2017 13:28:52
total set up and some of our younger fans took the bait.

You'd think with police ahem intelligence they would have parked a car out front.

I think BR got it totally wrong last wednesday. I don't think anyone of us realised the impsct of losing Roberts. Then BR played the new signings and players out of position. He got too clever. Today we see more of the usual formation but Sinclair looks way off the pace. Maybe we might get through on wed but it will be close.

Don't know what the situation is at present with Armstrongs contract? I had read that he wanted a two year deal as opposed to the 3/ 4 years on offer. Why not just get him signed up for two years and see if he can maintain the form of last season and even improve? It would mean a better deal for the club if he developed his potential fully and still wanted to leave in 2019.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

29 Jul 2017 15:33:08
Gotta feeling that Armstrong may want to leave. Especially if CL is not on cards same with Dembelle.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jul 2017 17:30:37
I agree OAB. If that's what he wants, and would be happy and committed in that time, I'd just settle with that and give him it. I'd rather have him for another 2-3 seasons than see him leave this window or worse, next summer for nothing. He's got a lot to offer us with his energy and drive.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jul 2017 19:00:13
Dembele is going no where. Aramstrong may be different and i think we will need to sell him as the contract won't get signed. That apart we won't lose anyone else we don't want to lose.

What about aron johannsson as striker? linked with him I think under Ronnie, scored 1every2 in Holland, moved to Bremen but not had much playing time . could be another Scott Sinclair signing, comes here to get his career back on track while scoring goals, can play as the 1 up front and maybe out wide if needed .

Believable0 Unbelievable2

Too old for a sell on fee.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jul 2017 20:44:01
He's 26, plus we don't need to sell everyone on . Who says we will find another demble and sell on for a huge profit . If it was that easy wouldn't we have another young striker here already for when demble leaves, and who could've played Wednesday . Just a suggestion of a player who has scored goals, that might not cost much as he hasn't had much game time lately, and has something to prove again . Would give us sometime to try and find a new gem . I'd also try and get a older striker 30 plus who wouldn't mind being a 3 choice who can step in when problems like we have the now happen again .

Agree0 Disagree2

29 Jul 2017 13:21:59
@Campsie Bhoy if you mean betting wise, I never bet on my team, but hopefully we can get at least one away goal. Celtic were long odds on at Celtic Park but over there we are 6/ 5 still favourites but as we Celtic fans know to our cost, Celtic seem to suffer from "travel sickness" just hope Brendan has found a cure. Also I think they play on a plastic pitch which we always find difficult (have I got eneough excuses in yet lol)
We need Griffiths fit but if not, I would give young Aitchinson a chance as he at least plays that position and would give team a focus, what we MUST do is play our players in their proper positions and go for it HH.

Agree0 Disagree1

29 Jul 2017 22:20:13
Ad like to see the young man given some time on wed too mate if Grif doesn't make it! Am sure there pitch is a grass Astro mix mate if we turn up and play they way we can we should beat them with ease good too see you back.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jul 2017 12:01:58
Maybe just my usual pessimistic self but I've got a bit of a squeaky bum and not sure this Rosenberg game is a certainty for Celtic. The Moose out to September and Griff out too is a massive blow for these qualifiers. When I questioned BRs wisdom in letting Christie go on loan somebody asked which midfielder would he have replaced on Wednesday night. None but he might have been a better bet up front that Rogic. I'm not sure we're actually in a much better position this year than we were last year for qualifiers apart from Sinclair given MD isn't available. Shame to have lost him and it's nobody's fault these things happen and must be honest not as concerned about (BR QUOTE) losing 'our best centre half Boyata' as BR seems to be. Bringing small Patrick back would be a step in the right direction if the laddies up for it. Meantime it's a pray, hope and try not to worry case. ☘️.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

29 Jul 2017 12:24:50
Av got the fear for this one to if griff makes it would be a lot happier. and have no probs with going with ajer again. but we need to turn up or we're oot.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jul 2017 14:05:32
I think we were very premature in letting Christie go on loan - especially with Roberts missing and Florist back to his underwhelming self. However I appreciate that it would have been arranged to sweeten the Hayes deal.
Hayes is yet to establish himself, but I worry that he will take time to get used to such a huge club - like Armstrong, GMS and to an extent Rogic, found in their first seasons.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jul 2017 20:01:02
Hayes is a better proposition than Forrest. Play Aitkinson or McGregor up front then play everyone else in their ususl positions. don't play Griffiths. He has been out and will never be 100% for wed.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jul 2017 06:43:40
Ed, seeing reports this morning that Brendan's going in for wee Patrick Roberts. Realistically what do you think our chances are of getting the boy back to Celtic? . I'd love us to bring in a quality centre half but if we only bring in one more player as Brendan suggested on TV last night I'd love it to be wee Roberts. The boy is absolute class with one thing on his mind as soon as he's got the ball, get forward, take on his man and create or score opportunities. Would absolutely love it if we could entice him back up here.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I've said all along that the only problem with signing Roberts would be the price Man City want for him. He won't be a City player by the time this window closes.}

29 Jul 2017 11:55:50
My opinion on the Roberts chase and I don't think it is NOW the Fee but wages! The fact is that Teams like Bournemouth Brighton Huddersfield can offer Roberts 50/ 60k a week!
THIS is the issue.
The only other thing imo is would he come before Qualification has been secured for CL.
I dunno but I get the feeling that the lads head may be swayed by the money.
Whats the thoughts?

Agree2 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - Roberts will know the money Celtic are offering him and the Club will know what Roberts is looking for. If they were so far apart in terms of the finances the manager wouldn't come out and speak publicly about it and the Club wouldn't waste it's time trying to do a deal.
If Roberts agent told Celtic whomever Roberts goes to he's looking for Β£50/60k a week there's no way we'd be able to get a deal done and with Roberts keen on a return he already knows that he won't get that money up here. Remember Dembele chose Celtic for game time and that's happening with more and more young players, Ntcham and Benyu done the same and Chelsea are losing a load of their stockpiled youngsters as they realise they need to play more rather than sit in the reserves picking up their wages, Solanke will have had guarantees about game time.
Roberts moving back here would be a seamless transaction for his personal life, his best friend's here and now his ex-City team mate Ntcham is here, he's played for the manager he knows the Club,the players, the support and the city. He'd be up here winning more trophies, playing European football and developing into a player who when the time is right could move back down south and light up the PL in a few years making us a tidy profit.
I wouldn't be at all surprised if we have a deal already agreed with Roberts in principle and are just just waiting on City.}

29 Jul 2017 12:11:34
I've said it before, all the money from VVD and another Β£5m on top and he will be worth three times that very soon. Celtic go for it. Driving me nuts.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jul 2017 12:13:12
Well with the crazy money being offered down there, he will be well out of Celtics reach I would think, would Jamie Walker at hearts not be s more realistic target, he is a good winger.

Agree0 Disagree1

29 Jul 2017 12:31:36
Spot on ed hope he signs we miss his creativity.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jul 2017 12:57:08
Ed, Surely it's a finance thing they must be waiting in either the expected VVD money or knowing CL monies pending?

I know we take this gamble every flipin' year and it does your / all head/ s in

How much is off the wage bill with letting 21 players go? I don't buy into it doesn't heat up till next month because the season does but if it does it must be again people's/ clubs fiscal margin change with impending window closing! It's NUTTY (Y)

Agree0 Disagree1

29 Jul 2017 13:54:13
You make a great few points ED, most importantly the fact that if there wasn't a hope of getting a deal done for Roberts surely Brendan would've been out by now saying " look we've enquired and a deal to bring Roberts here is way out of our reach". Just hope it can be done. Think he'd have made a huge difference last week against rosenborg.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - The manager knows the fans would love to see Roberts signed so it would be foolish for him to talk about the player knowing a deal couldn't happen. Rodgers must be a smidgen confident that it could happen for him to speak publicly about him.}

29 Jul 2017 15:22:23
After hearing what br said regarding the club being in a position to bring him back must mean the club know what city want for pat and what wages he would want as well. Id say it's just a matter of pep saying he's better off leaving.

Absolutely delighted to read the comments from BR saying that Patrick Roberts is still on the radar. That followed yesterday's comments that he wanted 'one in before the end of the window'. I think the timing of the PR naming was a public reminder to the board that this is his main target.

What if the lad thinks he has achieved everything in the scottish game ( he has) , is it worth him coming back for 6 champs league games?, or will he want to test himself against better players every week? . I think he will stay down south now tbh, End up at southampton or somewhere like that, If he dosent come home well good luck to the bhoy, he brightened up my season and was a joy to watch at times.

I think PR will sign for Celtic, the fee is rumored to be 8 million with add on's. Just my opinion but if we don't qualify for the champions league proper then the Celtic fans will not be happy. The spotlight would be a little less on the board if they signed PR. Where is sack the board when you need him πŸ˜‚.

This might fit in with Rogers' comments yesterday about not sustaining 3 quality strikers in Scotland, and not adding a player for the sake of it. He also reminded us at the same time that Paddy was able to play up front for a few games if necessary. They really should just bite the bullet now. and if its not going to happen, just say so to avoid the disappointment when it doesn't materialise.

It would have been a good idea to have got him in for the qualifiers. am sure he would have opened rosenberg up but this is the celtic way so we'll just have to get on with it.

Paddy has time on his side he can come be a history maker at Celtic and be worshiped for 4 years then go to the EPL with the experience needed to make it. Not saying he wouldn't make it now i think he could start for most EPL clubs but at this point in time CP is the best place for him. Signing Paddy would get rid of the doom and gloom that has infested over the last week or 2 brought on by 2 the injuries and the fine. We all want top signings but its only because of unfortunate injuries everyone is screaming for more additions and i agree totally with BR that we shouldn't buy any player just for the sake of it if they aren't an improvement or we can't get the players we want then why waste cash. We have a great squad and once everyone is fully fit and available we will be ok. If we get Paddy then we will be more than ok.
