A good test for celtic tomarrow and maybe toure against barca.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed007's Note - Toure won't be playing tomorrow.}

30 Jul 2016 08:58:45
Oh right, well it wouldve be a good first test for him in a celtic shirt against barcalona even though in only a friendly.

Hi Davie new on site but I just want to say how delighted I am about your good news. And to all who suffer from this horrible disease get well soon and keep fighting hail hail.

29 Jul 2016 22:07:25
So as things are a bit slow, here`s a question, and before I start let's not get into the politics of oldco/ newco/ sevco
You can pick 1 player that played from Rangers ( any era ) that you would have liked to play for us.
Now we all know which players crossed the "devide" so forget them.

I will start with Davy Cooper. When I was not watching Celtic I went to see Clydebank (Local team) he was a fantastic player.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I can't think of any off the top of my head. And certainly not Davie Cooper who if he was alive today wouldn't get anywhere near the plaudits he does except from Motherwell fans.}

30 Jul 2016 00:00:24
Is Motherwell the only team that Cooper played for that is still in existence?

Agree0 Disagree2

30 Jul 2016 00:01:56
unbelivably true ed. with the greatest respect if Davie cooper was still alive he wouldn't be spoken about In the same breath he is now .

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - There's no realistic argument to say otherwise.}

29 Jul 2016 23:58:36
I know it mite sound a bit childish, but I really don't want to think about any of there players past or present playing for us! Lol. yeh I can admit when somebody is a good player but wouldn't name any of them to wear the hoops! Maybe a bit silly but hey ho! On to transfer news now! Heard Kennedy mentioning Sinclair ED, maybe mean we're pretty close on that one for him to mention it in public? Any news buddy?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I was told it's only haggling over how the deal will be set up regarding add ons etc buddy.}

30 Jul 2016 01:09:25
Hi guys. reading for months now. first time poster. Hail Hail! .
How about Brian Laudrup. apart from last six months?
Best to all. F.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jul 2016 07:24:52
Got to agree cooper was tremendously over rated, I got kicked off the sevco site by ed001 about 2 years ago for saying Nakamura was a far superior player and then backing it up with stats about trophies and goals scored and I stand by every word.

Agree2 Disagree2

{Ed001's Note - you lying blert, I have never discussed the two at all. I have never even seen Cooper play. God you are such a prick. Why make up bull to make yourself seem like a victim? Idiots like you are why no editors will touch the Celtic or Rangers sites, because no one wants to deal with you. You will get deleted if you continue to lie about editors. Though I should just delete you for being a tit right now.}

30 Jul 2016 09:00:46
Sorry must have been the other ed that does the the rangers pages, we were discussing what to call Murray park and I suggested cooper park as the players coming out of it were overated like the man himself and Naka was a better player, I think your response was a bit strong for getting my eds mixed up, the rest is easy for you to check in rangers banter history.

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - I don't need to check, you were wrong. Why do I care who it was or what happened? Nothing to do with me.}

30 Jul 2016 09:18:55
Again I was not lying I made a mistake as I thought you were the rangers ed but having looked at it it was the ed 039 on the 5 Aug 2012, again I apologise for getting my eds mixed up, but the rest of it is 100% true and I feel your response was a bit over the top .

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - whatever. I don't really care.}

30 Jul 2016 10:13:10
You obviously care enough to call me a prick, which was a bit out of order for getting the eds numbers mixed up, but as most on here know, you are god and anyone who crosses you is banned, even people who have been contributed for years and you had no need to post about like that . Guess this will be my last post for talking back, shame I have enjoyed the site 😉.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - you have never contributed anything worthwhile. You are a childish little turd who never had to even bring up the argument with another editor at all, other than to prove what a tit you are that you annoy us enough to get banned from sites. What is wrong with you? You just have to be a dick constantly, making pathetic little jibes at us and then wonder why you get called a prick? You are one. Grow up and stop acting like a prick and you won't need to be told that you are a prick.}

29 Jul 2016 21:44:20
Hi Ed: Good to see new poster coming on and getting involved with theirthoughts. i'm sure there are possibly thousands of celtic fans who read this site every day. Regardless of what your views are guys / girls the more on here the better. The Celtic family is just that and we span the glode.
So Hail hail to all the Celtic Family.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

29 Jul 2016 21:20:44
So now we've went public with our interest in Sinclair do u think this means we're almost there with a deal? What do u think ED? I know there's been all sorts of figures banded about, anywhere between 3-6 million! U any idea what villa are actually after buddy?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I've heard that it's around £4 -4.5 million but that's including add-ons and it's them and the structure that's the hold up.}

29 Jul 2016 21:00:19
Seen somewhere that arsenal are looking to loan callum chambers out, would anyone make a move? He looks quite solid and can play RB.

29 Jul 2016 19:07:48

Davie my young 8yr old nephew beat lymphoma just before xmas and after a horrendous time the elation my family and friends felt is something i struggle to put into words so you take care bud and spoil those close to you as much as you can because the feeling of not having them is unspeakable.

Agree0 Disagree1

29 Jul 2016 18:51:45
Most people on here would prob agree we need a new no.1. What about Michel Vorm? Surely someone of his quality can't b happy warming the spurs bench. he has 2years left on contract but at 32 I'm sure he wouldn't cost that much! and IMO much better than gordon.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

29 Jul 2016 19:28:43
I'd take him. BR could seal the deal. Said down the page there are keepers not even going to be number one that I'd have over Gordon. He just can't have a good cup game. Vorm is the most likely of those I feel. I'd be happy with him at 32.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jul 2016 20:28:50
I'd like a younger GK! Surely we are looking for the next Forster! I'd like a long term solution to the problem!

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jul 2016 20:56:46
Ideally SOS yeah I agree.

Agree0 Disagree1

29 Jul 2016 21:33:49
I honestly believe we cannot bring in a "long term solution" anymore for any position as we have all seen 1/ 2 good seasons with us and England and £££ comes calling.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jul 2016 23:48:51
Haha so what do we do? Bring in players no one will want to buy?

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jul 2016 08:47:44
Not saying that at all but all i'm saying is that we don't ever have a long term solution it will be buy someone and sell them 2 years later then the same cycle over and over tjsys hardly a long term solution is it?

29 Jul 2016 18:38:13

I would like to share the following. I live in the south of England and i asked some friends what they thought would be a good season for them. The Arsenal fan said finishing 3rd in the epl would be good. The southampton supporter said getting out of the group stages of europe would be a good season and winning the Johnson's paint trophy. Given the ammount of money both clubs have spent recently how can your ambitions be so small. We should be grateful that we support a club who try every year to over achieve and we push ourselves and our players to be the best ever. Never settle for less.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

29 Jul 2016 17:46:03
I smell urine Southampton in theJohnston paint trophy that's for lower league teams only made up post.

Just seen the bhoys checking in at gla airport, I know were being well paid for it and I will be looking forward to setting down with a few cold ones myself to watch the Barcelona game, but surely we would have been better off resting up before the game on Wednesday than flying out for a meaning less friendly.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

29 Jul 2016 17:27:01
We are getting about a million pounds a game buddy. The board will be creaming themselves at that money.

Agree2 Disagree0

29 Jul 2016 17:32:21
Exactly Fab could do without this game, mainly because it could be a confidence knocker if we take a heavy defeat. Would play guys like Commons, Forrest, Johanson, Allan and Ciftci who probably wouldn't bother if they took a trouncing.

Agree1 Disagree0

29 Jul 2016 18:19:48
Its pity all the money for these friendlies never gets used to buy players.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jul 2016 20:44:49
Hopefully we might see the biscuit tin getting tanned in next few weeks. Paterson, Sinclair and a keeper. Could all be brought in for around 10 mill. Might be dreaming but we could be back on the road for real with that. A lot of players must know they've got till January to come up with the goods and a few youngsters will now be knocking at the dor too. Jozo hasn't started playing for us yet, Erik is solid and now we have Kolo! By January, I think we will be transformed.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jul 2016 15:53:50
The football world has gone mad! I just read that Pogba's agent is getting 15 million as part of the deal to take him to United! That's crazy! Just imagine what Celtic could do with that sort of money! Prob get in one player for £250,000 a 35 year old on a free and possibly a Chelsea youngster on lone! Lol got to love being a Celtic fan when the transfer window is open!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

29 Jul 2016 16:51:17
Sorry to disappoint u gaz but he's getting £25m.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jul 2016 16:55:57
Whats even more mad is Man U sold him to Juve for £800,000 only 4 years ago.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - That's not what happened, Stevie. Ferguson tried to force Pogba to sign with one of his agent friends and when the lad refused he was frozen out at Utd which lead to him leaving at the end of his contract, the £800k was training compensation.}

29 Jul 2016 17:25:23
Cheers for that ed, I thought Man U just didn't rate him and punted him.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - No mate, even then you could see he was a bit special. Utd actually got into a spot of bother over the way he joined them from Le Havre, they were cleared of any wrongdoing by FIFA after coming to an agreement (who said bung?) with the French club.
It's just another example of Fergie's arrogance and of him putting his own personal gain over the club. He thought he could bully Pogba like he did youngsters from the UK but the French lad was having none of it. Remember Utd fell into the hands of the Glazers after a falling out over a (swear) racehorse!}

29 Jul 2016 18:12:53
I heard a rumour about Pogba and a gold watch although can't really remember the details. Did you ever hear anything about this Ed?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Aren't you thinking about Ravel Morrison? There was a rumour he stole a really expensive watch off Rio Ferdinand but it was made up BS, Ferdinand himself came out and said it wasn't true. Morrison was not only one of the best young players Utd ever had, he was one of THE best young players England's ever produced, even Pogba was envious of Morrison's ability when they were team mates in the Utd youth set up.}

29 Jul 2016 18:46:28
Yip your right Ed, was Morrison, and totally agree with you about his ability, pity his attitude is shocking really.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - And it's still shocking lol.}

29 Jul 2016 19:07:12
What happened to him ed?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Morrison? He's over at Lazio but never settled over there either and has been linked with a move back to England, I think it was Aston Villa I seen were interested but there will be more than them I'd imagine.}

29 Jul 2016 19:48:33
love to see him in the hoops, don't think any manager could get through to him tho, which is a shame.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - If anyone could they'd have a top class player on their hands. I'd take him even if he's calmed down the gangsta/partying lifestyle, he would destroy teams up here and would give us that spark in Europe we've been missing since Lubo and Naka, not to mention that the fans would absolutely love him.

29 Jul 2016 20:44:08
Number 7 material? . Are lazio trying to punt him?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I don't imagine Lazio would be hard to deal with. During the last window they tried to ship him and Edson Braafheid (remember him?) to the owners other club Salernitana but both players refused to move. You're lucky if he's played a dozen games over there.}

29 Jul 2016 20:54:03
In terms of the opposite of all of Morrison's vices, I can honestly say Nathaniel Chalobah is the exact opposite. I work in the school he went to and saw first hand how gifted he was. Never taught him but he will still always call me sir even now. Well travelled on the youth loan front at Chelsea and has equipped himself well for most of it. CB or CDM, good either.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - And getting his chance at Chelsea by the looks of it, they took him to the USA on their tour for Conte to assess him.}

29 Jul 2016 21:01:58
I seen an interview with rio months ago and he was asked who the most exciting youngster was he has seen in his time at man utd and he answered quick as possible ravel morisson.
Have to say I was suprised but seen another interview with the old man utd no2 and he said the same.
Shame tho all that potential but his heads filled with rocks.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jul 2016 21:24:03
Looks a real talent Ed! Such a shame he seems to have wasted a good few years!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - He should be one of the top players in Europe by now.}

29 Jul 2016 22:32:38

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Copenhagen, Dinamo Zagreb, Legia Warsaw, Ludogorets and BATE Borisov. There may be more but those are the ones I can remember off the top of my head.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jul 2016 15:44:14
BATE, Dundalk, Ludogorets, Red Star, Dinamo Zagreb, Dinamo Tblisi, Legia, Trensin, Copenhagen, Astra Giurgiu.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jul 2016 15:57:12
One of the teams we could get drawn against are Legia Warsaw if they win their tie (& if we win ours lol. ) That would be a nice wee grudge match after they got threw out of Europe after they beat us a few years back for fielding an ineligible player. That would sell out Paradise, you can't beat a bit of needle for lifting the crowd a notch lol.

Agree4 Disagree1

29 Jul 2016 16:49:54
Whoever it is will be a really tough game! Hope we've a few in before that? Any idea when the the deadline for the next round is ED? Just keeping my fingers crossed that we're away first in the next round! Wouldn't fancy this team going away to Warsaw Copenhagen ect needing a result! But first and foremost we need to take care of Astana! Which won't be easy!

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jul 2016 16:57:36
Want to avoid them at all costs. They absolutely battered us when we had a stronger team than we do now. Dunno if same team are still together but would be a bad draw for us if we get thru.

What's everyone's thought on the transfer dealing catch 22.?
But lesser quality now in the attempt to secure CL qualification or gamble on what we have and hope CL qualification lures a higher class of player.
Are we trying to do both with the two new bhoys (plus Ajer) and save the rest of the cash for after the qualifiers?
Do we have enough right now to qualify?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

29 Jul 2016 11:09:13
I would say they're waiting for us to progress and thy have there targets and they are also waiting to see if they get champion league football.

Agree0 Disagree1

29 Jul 2016 11:15:04
Larbhoy that's what we told every year.

Agree1 Disagree0

29 Jul 2016 11:38:16
It's extremely difficult to lure players to Scotland - even though we are Celtic - and CL proper is the best incentive.
Qualification has become harder and harder, not only because of the amount of ties at a ludicrous time of year, but we have not been able to keep a half decent squad together for many years, due to selling our best assets and replacing them with cheaper, inferior players.
We do have some good young players at present, but we could do with more experience and quality to help them and maybe if we take advantage of that good result on Wednesday, we can convince one or two to join us?

We any every other team should be pushing for an earlier start to our season.
We alway seem to be at a disadvantage to the other teams in the qualifying because they all start a lot sooner than us.

BR was given the job to get us there, i am glad were waiting on the players he wants rather than getting players in that won't improve us, also our players will improve if his man management is as good as were made to believe, just keep the faith bhoys,

Even is seasons we did qualify for the champions league we never invested properly so why some people think we will now is beyond me.

2012/ 13 we qualified and spent money on Ambrose and Forster. kaminer and Miku on loans and Lassad on a free. 3 million spent. Ki was sold for 6 million that summer.

2013/ 14 we qualified and spent money on VVD, Balde, Pukki, Boeriggter and Bitton. That was the same season we sold Wanyama, Hooper and Kelvin Wilson. We brought in 10 million more than we spent over the course of the season.

On the basis of the last twice we have qualified we actually made a profit on sales in both seasons so I don't expect much to be spent. Also waiting for the "quality" signings. The last time we qualified we bought Pukki, says it all to me.

I would imagine that the people who know best, those who have the facts and figures don't see any alternative .
It isn't always the best idea, to run up debts and walk away and leave them behind.

I knew old Bhoy wouldn't be long behind with his usual "we don't want to end up like the real Rangers".

I am just trying to make those thinking we are going to spend 20 million when we qualify that it isn't going to happen. Just getting bored reading we will be buying better quality players once we qualify when there is no past evidence of this.

This board will continue to bleed the fans dry but that's great as long as we don't end up like Rangers.

My gripe is that we never seem to build from a position of strength. I know this was another lifetime ago and we weren't exactly in a strong position, but can anyone remember why Paul Elliot left the club? I remember it was something to do with a house?
