Dunno if "compared to Tims" is a compliment Ed but cheers.

Just read Lenny interview bout Dublin Cup, on about varying formation and stragegy etc....

Anyone else think this means we're gonna sit in against Inter and see how we get on? I for one don't wanna start playing like the darkside do in European games. It became the norm for them to defend and look at em now, can't win home or away.

I know it's a friendly but it's a big team, good time to practice the plan if he's gonna do it.

Shaunybhoy

Believable1 Unbelievable0

TBH if we went out 4-4-2 at the san siro in a european game I would go ballistic If playing defensively now and then will bring success then you would need to be really stupid to complain about it, especially if your argument is simply you dont want to do it cos rangers do it.

Thats not a personal swipe at u shauny lol just mean in general

Lets start playing the Celtic way........Big Jock would have went out for the win, wherever we played.... that's how to win the European Cup.....we went at them and won

Evening Ed, see you've had another tough day at the office mate.

Not that I'm missin his jokes but figured it couldn't be much worse than Timalloys:

Into a pub comes Paddy Murphy, looking like he'd just been run over by a train. His arm is in a sling, his nose is broken, his face is cut, and bruised, and he's walking with a limp.

'What happened to you?' asks Seamus, the bartender.

'Micheal O'Connor and me had a fight, ' says Paddy.

'That little O'Connor, ' says Seamus, 'He couldn't do that to you, he must have had something in his hand.'

'That he did, ' says Paddy, 'a shovel is what he had, and a terrible lickin' he gave me with it.'

'Well, ' says Seamus, 'you should have defended yourself. Didn't you have something in your hand?'

That I did, ' said Paddy, 'Mrs. O'Connor's breast, and a thing of beauty it was; but useless in a fight.'

Shaunybhoy {Ed007's Note - Evening Shauny, that was not bad (compared to Tims).

Believable1 Unbelievable0

When are Celtic fans going to get it though their thick skulls that David Goodwillie will NOT sign with Celtic. He's Rangers through and through and would prefer a move to England but I can assure each and every one of you that if he goes to a Scottish club it will be the champions.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

What like kenny miller?

Agree0 Disagree0

He's going to Blackburn ya muppet (again no name on original post).

Kenny Dalgleish was a r*****s fan yet signed for us, and of course as the poster above states Miller signed for us.

Back to the darkside muppet.

goodwillie is like a throwback to a young bellamy , fast, strong, two footed . good goals ratio , hated by every clubs support . so why go for the ageing injury prone player . hopefully not because of aticipated shirt sales for what the board would claim as a marquee signing , or lack of a transfer fee . this failure (so far ) to invest in the last couple of areas that need strenghtening when we are so close to a very good team is very worrying .

29 Jul 2011 18:47:33
Hi ed. Am just wondering is Lenny thinkin about using Bellamy as a right winger?? The striker we need is a big target man that can score goals not like Bellamy.Bigirishmac {Ed007's Note - I agree that he isn't the type of striker I thought NL would be looking at, but I never thought about him playing as a winger. He could do that.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think this could be a mistake Bellamy is very egotistic and dont like being shouted at and told what to do NL is very much his own man and will let Bellamy know it i can see these two clashing often

29 Jul 2011 18:45:53
question here guys if Celtic do sign Bellamy who is going to be dropped cant have a guy that cost mega bucks in wages sittin on the bench

ed instead of deleting the vile tony spews out towards us why not just block him from the site and do us all a favour, he comes on here all nicey nice but before long the true tony shows what he really is {Ed007's Note - It was one part of of one of Tonys many posts I edited out, I have done that with CFC fans as well. People only get banned for constantly trying to post bile, or if it is particularly nasty and for trolling (posting nonsense over and over again.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Ed you deleted part of my post for reasons i understand can you confirm to some of the morons out there that are reading this that no part of the deleted post was Sectarian or bigoted in nature i don't even think it could be deemed inflammatory.

Tony

Tony {Ed007's Note - It was not sectarian in anyway, it was just something that was a valid point, but not in a footballing context. I have never had any problem with Tonys posts, he comes in here as a Rangers supporter and says his say without resorting to the usual childishness "4IAR" posts, (I delete approx. 30/40 posts a day and that is all they say "4IAR" must take ages to come up with that one!!), he doesn't hide behind anonymity and has discussions and banter with a lot of the regulars.}

SSN news says you are in for Bellamy i hope you get him 11 goals 35 games for cardiff slightly better than Samaras will eat up most of your transfer Kitty and will destroy your dressing room funny how no team in England want to touch him for the amount of cash he wants this could be the signing Rangers need to win the League lol

Tony {Ed007's Note - Be very wary Tony, Diouf has still not found a club and he is "one of our own" to a lot of Rangers fans, great role model that is. Surely things won't get that desperate at Ibrox, will they?}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Come on Ed i know you don't want Bellamy at your club do you disagree with any of my observations above as for Diouf i dont want him anywhere near Ibrox apart from being a head case the guy is 5hit and our young boys are better than him

can you imagine the likes of Kayal izzy hooper etc getting paid say around 25K a week if that's what they are on then Bellamy swans in and gets paid lets say 50K per week how well would that go down in the dressing room cause i can tell you this he wont put in half as much a shift as Kayal or hooper does.

Tony {Ed007's Note - I know what you mean Tony, that was exactly the hold up with Davis signing a new contract at Rangers, the press were told that McGregor, Davis and Whittaker would all be paraded after signing new bumper deals. The press got hold of McGregors wage and Davis pulled out of signing to renegotiate his deal.}

Agree0 Disagree0

You cant blame these guys no one person will win you the League it takes team work we have won the league for the last 3 seasons and we don't have any 90k per week superstars what got us over the finishing line was good team work big wages bring players with big egos.

do you have a room for the night asks the falkirk fan? the man say yes but one of you will have to sleep with the pig. fine i will sleep with the pig replies the celtic fan. at 02.00 in the morning the celtic fan appears at the door, its too smelly down there, says the celtic fan.
fine i will sleep with the pig says the falkirk fan.

Ally replies"ill tell u what ill do the left one so Neil can do the right" As Ally signs away the pen gets away from him leaving a bit of a mess.
The woman then turns to Neil, and with the skill of an artist, he signs his name in perfect handwriting.

Please can we put to bed this "Marquee" signing crap. Also, im sick of this "hallowed number 7 shirt". Its just a shirt number that some good players....and some crap players have worn. Bellamys wages are sickening, and so were Ljungergs..... who wore the 7 shirt. Lets just let Lenny get on with bringing guys in who can do the job, and can do it for a lot less than £80k per week.

Also, i hear on other forums people moaning that big Dermot should pump more money in simply cos the fact he's a billionaire. True, he could buy Celtic dozens of times over but he cant pump more money in without gaining more shares.....which he doesnt want to do and is his prerogative.

I am getting really fed up with R*****s fans posting on this site... how much have you spent? Stop stealing our players? We won the league last year.. etc etc
They have now resorted to 'copying' their biggest rivals... In Ally we trust, the new singing Green Brigade esq fans stuck away in the corner of Legoland, waving their flags and beating their drums
At the end of the day you may have a new owner but one thing I think you ALL forget is.... He bought your WHOLE CLUB for a quid, £1, a nuggat, shrapnel........ Call it what you like but please have a wee bit of dignaty, I just bought two items at tesco for more than that.... I could have bought your club and had change to buy them items too

just seen that the council have given the go ahead for an orange parade on the day of our home match with dundee utd just outside celtic park even though the police opposed it what chance have the government the sfa and the spl got to tackle sectarianism when glasgow city council are afraid to make a decision in case it upsets a few bigots

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Im probably gona get hung drawn and quartered for this but the Orange order should be allowed to March just as The Ancient Order of Hibernian s are and many other groups in order to celebrate their heritage whether we agree or not what i do not agree with is when they are allowed to March through pro-dominantly Catholic neighbourhood as i think this is antagonistic. we all have some type of beliefs and heritage but there is no need to inflict it on others to try and cause offence.

Tony {Ed007's Note - I am not being pedantic Tony, but to actually get an AOH parade these days is very rare. There needs to be an actual AOH in the host town and they are very few and far between nowadays.}

Agree0 Disagree0

My biggest fears Ed is when we start banning Marches or Demonstrations where will it end these marches of any kind should be restricted to certain areas or maybe should be restricted to a rally in some park were if you feel offended by them you don't have to go anywhere near them.

Tony {Ed007's Note - If you look at the statistics Tony, there were more arrests at this years 12th July "parade" in Glasgow than there was in connection with the "shame game" last season. If these walks were held in a park there would still be the same level of trouble, it is the aftermath of these events that causes a ripple effect throughout other towns etc.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed is this true about this march ootside parkhead on the day of a home game...

viewparkbhoy {Ed007's Note - Yes VPB, and it doesn't look as if GCC are for changing their mind.}

Agree0 Disagree0

It was me who posted the original post we had the same problem in dumbarton when the police and the council said no but the court overturned there dacision however in the current climate i think its madness to have one on the same day as a celtic home game and also the pipe band championships are same day same area anyway if they are serious about stamping out sectarianism all marches from all sides should be banned

Agree0 Disagree0

Well then GCC should take full responsibility for anything that happens at as they can stop it

Tony

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah I'm with Tony on this one. While I'm personally of the belief that the Orange Order are obviously very antagonistic and probably feed off and enjoy the negative publicity they get, they've got a right to march just as any other group as what they do at the end of the day is completely harmless.

But IMO they should stick to areas where they won't cause trouble amongst the public. For example, I couldn't see a Nazi/pro-Hitler march getting permission (assuming they actually asked for it) to march through a street in a mainly Jewish community and if it happened there'd be uproar. In a city as big as Glasgow it's ridiculous and nothing more than belligerent that they feel the need to march past Celtic park. It's bad taste, and only intended to wind people up. They know it'll cause bother - the notion that they'd "accidentally" or "hadn't considered ramifications" of going past CP is nonsense.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree tony gcc should be held accountable for everything from policing to cleaning up the aftermath surely any body can see this is a recipe for diaster its feeding straight into the hands of troublemakers on both sides

viewparkbhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

You just can't ban everything that causes offence, you can only try to control it in a sensible way. But GCC have shown extreme idiocy in agreeing to allow this march to be anywhere near Celtic Park, matchday or not.

Reeks of a dragnet operation.

Shaunybhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

How refreshing VPB one of the few that see both side have Ass holes who will be hell bent on causing trouble more people should realise that just because you Support Rangers don't mean you support any ulster paramilitary group just as much as all Celtic supporters are not 1ra fund raisers or supporters the sooner our clubs supporters can eradicate this perception of each other the better.

What have Strathclyde Police got to say, considering they were bitching about how much it costs to Police games at Ibrokes and Paradise

DazzaBhoy {Ed007's Note - I posted a link to the original story yesterday Dazza, absolutely abhorrent decision IMO.}

Agree0 Disagree0

True Ed, are the Police and Council hoping for a riot outside Paradise?

DazzaBhoy {Ed007's Note - I have no idea for their reasoning Dazza, the police didn't want it to happen to give them their due, they will be stretched to the limit throughout the city on that particular day. The World Pipe Championships are on in Glasgow Green that day as well and their are other "parades" in the city as well. Let's hope things pass peacefully though I have serious reservations about that happening.}

Right came up with a plan a wee while ago, give you all the jist see what yous think -

Have a match pre season or after the Cup Final. Have a Rangers and Celtic Select team of 18 players . 9 from each team jointly managed by both old firm managers, versus a similar team called the SPL select, each set of fans vote for their best player ( as is done anyways for fans player of year award) 1 from each team gets in, manager is national manager and he fills the rest of the team to give a balance to the squad only spl players) . Have a big doo dah at hampdfen in the sun, bile free, mixed support cos you not cheering individual team on, good for families could be a good money spinner through all the txt voting etc that you could have. any way lot more complex than this but thats the basic jist. I think it could be a good way to promote our game in a positive light esp with all the crap surrounding it that last wee while. obv pthere are problems, the mixed fans being one possible one but in a game that has no relevance than a good day out to see some good football by the best the spl has to offer it could be a goer. i have worked out a hell of a lot more to this and am going to send it to chairmen, sfa , spl etc but i want a fans perspective, maybe living in fairy land thinking it could happen, but i see it as a way to bring together the good honest supporters for a good game of football. Oh also forgot to add would be restrictions on tactics etc, no defensive , 3-5 -3 pr something to try and create an open attacking high scoring game soo tell me what you think , pick it apart, slag me off, suggest changes all welcome :)

Evinguu
sorry if half of this is hard to read can only see the first 5 or 6 words of each line in this box {Ed007's Note - I have spoke to people over the years about a game like that to open the season. Use it as a charity fundraiser (all fans would surely respect that) and encourage families etc to come, make it a gala occasion and a showcase of the good side of Scottish football. Keep me updated and anything I can do to help, just ask. If you leave an e-mail address I will e-mail you (nobody else will see your address and we NEVER pass them on to anyone).

Believable1 Unbelievable0

I think it's a great idea and I'd love to be able to take my son to a game like that.

Top job dude

Baybear

Agree0 Disagree0

A great idea on paper mate. I reckon it would draw in big crowds and would be a good money spinner etc. But on the point of bile and hatred, it would be ok for this game but after that people would just go back to the usual routine

Agree0 Disagree0

Ok meant to be 4-3-4 lol maybe it could be done with no goalies

Cheers ed, its not an original idea and many like you have thought of it before. and there are all star games in america and the world 11 thing at old trafford. But think the way i have it planned out in greater detail, there could be something in it, will post you my email addy at somepoint ed just not sure if its still sending out spam lol {Ed007's Note - Well I don't need any "little blue pills" that's for sure! ;-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Ok this keyboard is broken, bloody 4 puts a 3 lol, i give in putting up the tactics cant even correct myself properly right 3-4-3 yasss got it lol.....DOH

Baybear - cheers :) thats the idea

Other dude - fair point it would be back to the old routine afterwards for some( it is an idealistic idea anyways) but it would make some realise that you can be a football fan without having to resort to that sort of stuff, it could tie in with all the anti sectarian work both rangers and celtic do, show racism the red card etc etc etc it could be used as an education forum, put our game in the open and say look were not a backwards wee awkward country with the normal decent folk saying "look we can put our hatred aside ...can you?" and at least that show of solidarity could go a long way in the future, and encourage more to stand up to these idiots who pick up where they left off.

Evinguu

Agree0 Disagree0

Its a great idea n a aint tryna pi55 on it bt wot chance you got wen people like stokesy cant even be arsed playing for their country at the end of the season

Mikey - fair point, and eds right preseason prob is best, only issue you have is managers and players not being available for it, but what club would say im not giving my players permission to play in this game when the ideals are anti bigotry and fair play to all and proceeds prob going to charity aswell could make it very very hard for clubs and players not to participate. Even the likes of mr stokes.

Ed u sure about the spam. Wud never suggest you would need wee blue pills, you have the power of IP blocking lol. there are however plenty zimbabwean princesses looking for a dontaion of just a few hundered quid to release the millions their daddies have left them and they are willing to share it with you lol

Evinguu {Ed007's Note - The Zimbabwean royal family must have about 2000 princesses in it if they are all genuine, must have been a very busy King they had lol}

See the others have spent 15m to try rival our award winning matchday experience. Apparently another 20m to replace the plasma screens haha. Also introduced for the kids is union jack face painting, soldier outfits, Will and Kate dolls and to eat Billyburgers. Nurturing the young crop. They also get to meet the team mascot Kirk 'the clown' Bigfoot instead of blowing up balloon animals the kids will get to see Kirk and his team blow the league. Hail hail.
