I'd be very very happy if we can't get another signing in to secure Paddy on a permanent 3 year deal. He's in the same situation as Craig Gordon with Chelsea in that he'll be going back to Man City to warm the bench at best and like Dembelle he's still a young boy with plenty time and his whole career ahead of him. In the final analysis it depends whether pay or play is the greatest motivation for both of them. 🍀

The fact that Dembele and Griffiths were both out and Ciftci didn't even make the bench tells you all you need to know. Unless he is injured too but I haven't heard anything.

Aitchison is still only 16. I'd like to see him make the bench from time to time with the odd appearance here and there and look forward to seeing him develop. Agree with Ciftci I would release him of his contract. Clearly he doesn't have a future with us and nobody is interested in taking him off our hands. Should never have been bought in the first place!

My god we need players who can beat rangers, Aberdeen and hearts in the league or molde, Gothenburg and the like in the qualifiers . Defo clear the decks a bit ed but think it's going to be difficult. Gamboa, Bitton best I've seen them. SS, KT class and Boyata good again. Stadium more or less full and great atmosphere for a 1pm kick off. Was thinking what a great year for the whole club to be playing like that, a real honour to the lions the way we're playing, attack after attack and goals all over the team.
Special time to be a Celt, hope it continues all the way to May this year and for a long time to come

Glad that three points are in the bag. We made so many chances in that first half, we should have been at least 3 up. Hearts had a wee flurry after half-time but they were never in it. CG gave us the usual heart stoppers with a couple of mis-kicks but our passing play and first touch was brilliant to watch.
I am old enough to remember 1967 and 50 years later, we made more history. I really hope this team can pick up the Scottish Cup (league is pretty much in the bag)

We have done so well this season. BR is the best signing we have mafe since Henrik. he has put new life into the team. On monday we will have adrian durham on tslk sport slagging us off saying its no achievement. On friday he said warburton should be consideted for scottish manager of the year? So here we go again. According to all the knockers our only yardstick is europe. Unbeaten in any league for this amount of matches is fantastic. Record stood for 50 years so that says it all and we are not finished yet. Who know, maybe unbeaten all season. They will still find fault in it. So well done to a great team.

It took the players a while to adapt to playing without a striker today but once they got into a rhythm they were terrific. Special mention to Bitton and Gamboa, both had their best game of the season by far! The entire squad deserve massive credit for breaking the record, everybody has played their part and hopefully the cherry on top will be a new signing by Tuesday night, even though BR has played down the chances of any deals going through. HH

Was just reading BR's comments saying that he won't have the perfect squad before the window closes and won't just sign a player if he does not believe he's the right one, which is fair enough. I personally don't expect any more in this window but I remain hopeful also hopeful a few go through the exit to leave an opening for summer window

Malay and Malay-KT is beyond doubt the best full back at Celtic Park since Danny McGrain and better than Danny was going forward. His crosses into the box for goals today and some of his general play was absolutely fantastic. He's a throw back to Paul McStay, Tommy Burns and the like in that he doesn't want to play elsewhere and is playing for the club he loves. If he wasn't on the park he'd have been sitting beside me in the stands today. 🍀

I'd just say it was good management Kev. I've been clinging onto a hope Boyata can do us a turn. Like BR has said, I think he has good attributes. I said when he came in he had all the physical depts. ticked, it was a question of his mental side of things. Whilst I rate Erik, I really like the prospect of Boyata and Jozo together. The most important thing managing a squad is that players who knuckle down and earn their shirt, who come in and play well, keep it. It's the only message to give a squad.

I understand that we need to use our whole squad but I just think that Erik might not be ticking all the boxes for the gaffer.

I do to ed007 but with the extra pace and hight I cold see boyata becoming the first pick if he does really step up.
{Ed007's Note - With the squad rotation and tinkering Rodgers does I don't think there is many first picks in the team. If fit I think only KT, Brown, Armstrong, Sinclair and Dembele are stick on starters. Not that I'm complaining it shows the strength and quality we do have in our bloated squad.
Simunovic, Sviatchenko, Lustig can play there, hopefully Boyata is finding form, Toure at a push if desperate and Ajer coming back next year, unless we're going to spend some serious dough on a top CB to kick on for the CL I'm pretty happy with what we've got there, we would dominate Scottish football and the players have a years CL under their belt - and Rodgers does like to talk about building and learning.
I would certainly only buy another CB if he was at a much higher level than what we've already got and I think Rodgers would think the same, quality over quantity.}

Heard Chris Boyd is giving his opinion in a rag today in the Craig Gordon / Chelsea situation. He reckons if Gordon and Chelsea want a deal to be done Celtic will have no say in the situation. Does he not realise Gordon's got 6 months on a contract with a further years option which Celtic will definitely act on which does give Celtic a say on if he goes or not and how much he'd go for aswell. Gordon will only go if the club get a fee they believe to be his worth and no less.
