Lot of chatter suggesting Paddy won't be coming back. Really hope we can get him signed up, talk of Onyekuru but guys behaviour and talk to media makes him a worry for me even if we get him. Fingers crossed we get PR back. Was at the charity game the day, great laugh and everybody talking about Paddy.

I've seen on Celtic Quick News that a deal has been agreed between Celtic and City, and it's now up to Roberts. Obviously, no idea how true that is.

I honestly think if its up to him he will be here next season, its obvious he's fell in love with us ( or teirney) , rumours of the number 7 jersey too when he signs, id be happy with that.

29 May 2017 10:21:02
God yeah - it would be great! Cifci to Roberts for the number 7 would be a pretty huge step in the right direction.!

Who do you all think will be offered new contracts soon for next season and even people like Armstrong who's contract expires next year. I personally would like to see O'Connell be offered one as he put in some great performances for us especially earlier on in the season and his contract is up at the end of June. What do you think about the likes of Bitton, Mackay-Steven or even Henderson?

Believable1 Unbelievable2

{Ed007's Note - I think the only one out of them that'll be in the Hoops come the end of August will be Armstrong.}

29 May 2017 09:44:45
can see hibs taking a few of our fringe players, lennon knows their qualities also, can see efe, maybe henderson and GMS going too, all 3 would enhance his squad, i hope efe stays in scotland tbh, really likeable guy and think without the pressure of playing for us he would be a decent player.

Agree1 Disagree0

29 May 2017 12:27:18
Maybe Henderson as well as armstrong, but it might be better for Liam to move on, more chance of a game somewhere else,

Got to say I was 10 when we won in Lisbon so this year was not the greatest but came very close, for me we have been as good off the field as we have been on it, my 2 highlights have been the emergence of Grace as a club anthem such a beautiful ballad and the lights tribute on 67 minutes to the lions, (it's Shirley my paranoia that once it took off we got so many lunchtime kickoffs) no wonder we are such an iconic club and support HH.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed007's Note - This gives me tingles up my spine every time I watch it and it breaks my heart that I'm not able to be in the middle of it all.

28 May 2017 22:10:12
Outstanding and unique gb different class.

Agree2 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - Everything about our Club is different class. For those of us not old enough to remember The Lisbon Lions this is a very special time in our history and it's only going to get better and better imho.}

28 May 2017 22:38:29
Absolute class I was under the green stripe on the left god bless Celtic god bless the green brigade πŸ€.

{Ed007's Note - Good man (clap) It just shows you can be an old codger and still get Ultra'd up when you're oot yer nut!}

I got puffed out watching them. A young man's game. Still miss it though. I would last about 20 minutes then be carted out unconscious. Brilliant to watch.

I just wanted to say how proud I was of the team yesterday.
With the anniversary of the Lisbon lions, doing a treble for only the fourth time in our history, and probably a once in a lifetime opportunity to go through an entire domestic season unbeaten, the pressure on these players was absolutely massive.
I think that because Aberdeen turned up and made a match of it, the win seemed even more special.
I must admit that when Brendan Rodgers was appointed last year, I wasn't totally convinced he was the best choice. I'd seen that for a while as Liverpool's boss they couldn't defend to save their lives, and I feared that he might be another Tony Mowbray, where we were okay going forward but defensively a shambles.
The job he's done here though has been magnificent, the way he has improved several players, the team spirit that he's created, and his tactical knowledge, has absolutely transformed us. I've not enjoyed watching a Celtic team as much as this one for many years.
My only worry looking ahead to next season is that how can you top this, I mean we could win the treble again, yet if we lost one league match, some people would say that we couldn't match the achievements of the previous season, that's how high the bar has been set.
Well done Brendan and the team, you have earned your own place in Celtic's history.

Think a lot of us were the same Gerry I have to admit he wasn't my first choice after some of the Liverpool stuff but as good managers and players do he has learned from his mistakes and has done an unbelievable job and lifted the entire support let's hope it's just the start. H.H.

At the charity game today with my tribe.
Good day out for my triplets 5th birthday.
Some of the guys look like they should still be playing.
A lot of then getting stuck right in tae especially big bobo ( guy looks like he hasn't aged a day. )
Good to see big rieper. The guy was a cracking player and so important in stopping the mob getting 10. If he didn't get injured I think he'd have been right up Martin oneills Street.

ED 007:
Big congrats on the Accies staying up, well done to them.

Believable4 Unbelievable4

{Ed007's Note - Cheers. I certainly wasn't expecting it to happen, Peter. They should try and get wee Hartley in as manager but I think they'd have a tough job convincing him. My mate's recently been promoted to the Head of Recruitment for them too.}

29 May 2017 11:08:20
Agree Accies staying up is good, they live within their budget and don't fill their team with Hammer Throwers like Inverness. I see them at home sometimes and good to see Docherty scoring, a hard working player.
Got hospitality there year and half ago for game against Dundee, won't say his name but guy showing us round spent half time talking about Hartley being local lad and good chance as future manager, even arranged for Hartley to come say hello after the game rather than Cannon.

Agree3 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Appointing Hartley would be the best way forward for them and I reckon he could keep them clear of the relegation spots and solidify their Premiership status. Next season will be another year of me wanting Killie relegated :)

29 May 2017 11:37:44
Yep If Ajer goes out on loan again I hope it's not Killie.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I'd loan him to Hibs or even Aberdeen if they could guarantee him game time.}

James you up at the legends game mate, I was with my 2 bhoys, felt a bit strange as 2 Celtic teams on the park but still wanted the team wearing the hoops to win, also thought they could have had songs playing throughout the match as it was a friendly. ( except from Bobo )

Man for man we had more talent when we were marching with O'Neill but (1) better football being played under Rodgers and (2) I think Brendans the best man motivator and most charismatic mangaer we've had since Jock Stein. Humble, hard and fair like the big man was. With financial backing I think he could even make a mark in Europe.

Ah, but who played the better football and who was the best to watch.? as great a team as MON's were, I think this team plays a more attractive style of football to watch.

Remember towards the end of his term as manager that the crowds were down and the was rumblings about them not being exciting to watch. you can't say that about this team.

Anyway, what ever your opinion, it's a great "problem" for us to have, debating between two of our great teams. joy

HH.

Agree2 Disagree1

28 May 2017 10:48:16
Man for man I still think the MON side wins. In simple terms, that team had Henke, this one has nobody close.

The two teams are not comparable in style in my opinion. O'Neill recruited man mountains and put a lot of emphasis on physicality. Of course we still had Lubo, Henke, Thompson etc., who were fantastic footballers.

He always like a battering ram up front like Hartson or Sutton, although it would be an insult to say that was all they had in their locker. They were also brilliant finishers. Sutton was also a brilliant partner to Larsson. On their day that team could also beat Rangers 5-1 or string 20+ passes together like the Lyon game.

This team don't deserve some of nonsense being written about lack of competition however. Make no bones about it, this clean sweep has sickened those opposed to our club like never before. We have just went through an entire season unbeaten, playing some wonderful attacking football. This is up there with some of the greatest achievements in our history.

Agree2 Disagree1

28 May 2017 11:59:56
Take henrik out the oneill era/ Seville team and there isn't much between them also mons team was filled with older seasoned players while this team still has a few youngstets in it.

What a season! Never have I been prouder to be a Celtic supporter. What a spirit there is in our squad. It's vital we keep Armstrong. I thought he was the best player on the park by a mile today. And watching KT go up for his medal at the end just topped it all of. The wee mans passion is incredible and he has the talent to match. now off to bed and I'll be continuing the celebrations tomorrow in ParadiseπŸ’š.
