Is championship player the level. that people want celtic buying?
Should we punt eddy and Griffith in the summer? We could replace them with shankland and nisbet. 2 goal scorers.

Too quick to judge a player Kev. We just signed a nobody for 3 and a half million, Shankland is a proven goal scorer. Scored at international level, scored two against Hibs in the Scottish, definitely worth a punt in my opinion. You can use any example of player you want, they never scored goals like this lad!

It doesn't matter what level a player is currently playing at, it is what level a player is capable of playing at, that is the question, and that is the gamble the buying club must take, fortune favours the brave or is it fools go where angels dare to tread.

Hmm I give you the good doctor kenny Deuchar. 115 goals in 231 games in Scotland. At strike rate of a goal every 1.5 games. Even had a season of 41 goals in 41 games.
Stepped up to the spl with 3 different clubs and managed 6 goals.
Aindoh I prefer only an idiot doesn't learn from his mistakes and we've made them signing 3 failures from that division already. Allen morgan and watt. All of whom stood out in that league.

To be perfectly honest I have not known anything about most of our signings in the last few seasons and it's all a bit hit and miss.
Compper, Gamboa, Eboue, Benyu and De Vries clearly didn't fit in; whereas Scots signings like Allen, Mulumbu, Hendry, Morgan and Hayes all struggled to reach the higher standards required.
Bayo, Shved, Taylor, Arzani and Bolingoli are all on the fringe - along with the two unknown arrivals this month - who may be stars?
Then there are the likes of Sinclair, Dembele, Roberts, Eddy, Ntcham Frimpong (and El Hamed) who became significant first team performers.
There are obviously a few I have missed and I have not included 'academy graduates', but you will agree there is a mixed bunch there.

Some players develop later on in their careers. Am sure everybody would have laughed if someone said Jamie Vardy would be a top striker in the premier league. Where I agree with you with the likes of kenny deucher, but sometimes a player needs a break to make him go on to be a better player. With his ability to put the ball in the net and and a little more coaching, we could have another cracking striker. To just dismiss the boy, because he plays in the championship is a bit rubbish to be fair, the ābig name doesnāt always workā!

I know our model is to buy cheap from Europe, coach, improve then sell. The new lads fit that model. What I don't get is Taylor. Why make such an effort to get him then never play him. NL seen him often enough 1st hand so can't blame scouts/ YouTube clips, like maybe the case for Bayo. Different if our 1st choice LB was having a blinder of a season, we don't even have one that's playing! No point having him if he can't even get a game when Boli is injured. If I was him I would not be happy.

For me Taylor was a panic buy. We bought bolingoli and to be perfectly honest isnāt great and didnāt show well to start with so we went and bought Taylor at the tail end of the summer window. If Taylor had been good enough weād have bought him first as he played his football 20 mins down the road so we knew exactly what he was capable of. Letās be honest by in large bolingoli is a flop and clearly Lennon doesnāt fancy him when weāre playing a left winger in Hayes before him. Taylor must be sitting there wondering ā what have I done signing hereā he canāt get in that team ahead of bolingoli, and he canāt get in the team ahead of a left winger, who by the way is out of contract in the summer. And before anyone says about Taylor not being able to play a wing back position, if thatās how Lennon likes to play he shouldāve thought about that before signing him. For me Iād keep Taylor, try offload bolingoli and sign Meling from rosenborg.

Not a rumour, but how about giving Edouard a pay rise to say Ā£40k a week, if he extends for another 2 years. It won't stop any bids in the Summer, but means we would get really top dollar in the Summer. If he decided to stay, then great because it would show he really loves the club.

So now lennon has said said heās happy with the squad and wonāt be worried if we donāt add and heās happy.2 days after saying he hopes to add one or 2 and going on about bringing in experience. we've brought in 2 young guys who letās be honest wonāt get a proper run this season! We needed a couple of bits of quality and experience to push on for the 9! Really wish lennon would keep his trap shut about transfers honestly!

The way NL has had to backtrack and review his statements since the 'window' opened shows very little respect from Lawell and co considering what's at stake regarding continued success/ dominance.
Obviously it's still possible to add the quality we need, but time is running out and a reluctance to spend the cash available is risky.

Its amazing how we see things differently and take things differently too.
My take on what he said was he was looking for 1 more but if it didn't happen then it didn't.
That for me tells me they are trying to get a loan in prob from down south and seeing what the cost might be and the availability.
The situation will prob be if the team he is coming from get a replacement or no one else comes in for the player we have a chance.
Just no idea who it is.

The one where the guy who manages us says heās looking to bring in experienced first team ready players but brings in 2 projects players. who said 2 days ago weāre looking to bring in 1 or 2 Elyounoussi types who are ready to go straight in! The narrative is that lennon talks pish when it comes to our transfer dealings and consistently trips himself up! Letās not forget how we all felt on the 30th of December eh, we all wanted experienced quality first team players who would come in and push us onto winning 9iar! Which we have not done! If we want to go down the route of signing young unproven players just say thatās our strategy, donāt constantly repeat the need for experience being brought in then do the exact opposite!

So now Soro has signed and on a long term contract apart from the obvious reasons of helping take pressure of Brown or freeing up McGregor to move further forward, where he is most effective, could Soro even help us with Bayo, look at how our French players have come on with the company of their fellow countrymen, let's hope Soro can get Bayo to start showing us why he was signed as well.
