back on again I stated in October that the current set of players at the club could not be relied upon to win a title decider on the last day no matter who they play and that the manager is taking the club backwards with the help of the board through lack of investment. Interesting fact that we have only won one match this season after losing the first goal which was against Aberdeen in the last minute. It is a disgrace that we play one man up in all matches and are playing a forward in guidetti who is on loan when we have griffifes and Stefan who are permanent as mccoist did at ibrox and should be removed before this happens

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - You posted that on 06 Oct 2014 09:36:42 yet you went on and also stated on 26 Oct 2014 at 21:24:06:

3 wins in row time to get behind the team as the next 3 games are vital if we beat thistle on wed night then we are in the semi of the league cup and can forget about this competition until jan next year and a win in the league on Saturday followed by a win away to Astra we are in Europe after xmas so can concentrate on the league.

I know we are not plying the greatest at the moment but with the additional matches in Europe allowing the team to gain more experience together it is time to get behind the team and ignore the negatives I the msm who only have the agenda to promote sevco at all costs and any negative against celtic.

Remember "faithful through and through"

Once again I agree with you Ed .
Is it not time that our supporters got behind the players, the manager and Celtic . Our enemies and MSSM can ridicule us and support Sevco to the cows come home, the least Celtic supporters can do is support Celtic and encourage Celtic, it might help.

Agree1 Disagree0

Ed: That is correct but we have moved on from then and anyone can see if not for craig gordon we would not be in the Europa league would expect nothing less from you are you peter lawell in disguise. At least SDM got rid of Le Guen also I will be auctioning my league cup semi final ticket for charity in mid January as unlike the club and the hard core element I do not accept this match as "old firm" what is your answer to this and will you be attending this event I suspect yes

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I'll answer that if you can explain why you are posting on the Sevco site as poster '72' as well as on here? SDM? You're stinking up the joint pal, do one. Nothing I do has anything to do with the likes of you and you don't have the intelligence to take me on, does this ring a bell:

long time since posting but think we have now reached a watershed and big changes required. I have been unable to post this whilst ally has been in charge as the player is currently involved with a family member of mine. Apparently ally was called into a meeting on the wed prior to resigning on the Friday and informed that the top assets identified were available for sale and the players who contracts were due to run out in the summer would not be renewed. Add into the mix that the players who signed in the summer are still awaiting their signing on fees and existing bonus payment due from last year have not been paid is why these guys are not playing for the jersey. I was also informed that temps was withdrawn on Saturday as fee has been agreed and he will be leaving in transfer window.

billyb: as always a good post spoke with honesty and from the heart although I do think Ashley will be good and hand over to the right people in the long run once he has the sponsorship deals tied up as he cant have any other angle as he is no fan so in the long run we need to get behind him in the short term to survive long term.

That's posts you have waiting to be edited. You never know, you might get a day out with your carer if the auction reaches high enough, maybe even a Happy Meal!}

This is becoming more and more like shuperallyism, in that one camp thinks you have to support RD because he is Celtic manager, and anyone who dosent is ridiculed as being a non supporter, but the guestion is how bad does the performances have to get before we can critisice RD?, this playing one up front sticks in my craw, you should play five up front, and those five should become five defenders if defence is needed, I was very supportive of RD when he came in, as a young forward thinking manager, but I am losing the faith, I think he has read some coaching manuals and got lucky at his first try at management and now is out if his depth.

We'll not be hearing from 67/72 again

Agree0 Disagree0

Aindoh I don't think formations matter as much as the player selection.whether its 4-4-2 or any other formation the games about dominating the opposition which Celtic have done over the last two games though they have only taken one point.when celtic attack are you seriously suggesting we only have one player up front?.when the opposition sit in as they do against us there's a lot of luck involved in keeping us from scoring.we havnt been getting the rub of the green in that respect and also may need a player who can open up defences with a deft touch.keep the faith and wait and see what players we can get in the transfer window.

Agree1 Disagree0

Lmfao why do these numpties even try & get the better of you Ed? a mean ffs do they not know you are 007 and an ex boxer a bet you have PUSHED better out the road just to get into a fight! lol atvb jb7

Its almost silly season with the transfer window opening. What areas/players do fellow readers think we should be looking to strengthen?
I feel this window is vitally important considering potential champions league qualifiers and I would like to see any new signings given time to adjust to the team/tatics from now until end of the season rather than being rushed in at the end of summer.
Is like to see a new goalkeeper, Gordon has been decent but I'm not 100% convinced just get a feeling it will go wrong. An older commanding centre half would be good to organise the defence and a midfielder who could take some of the burden of driving the team forward from Brown and eventually take over from him.
Who these players are? I don't know, thoughts? Ed?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We need creativity in midfield, A winger who can cross and cover at LB we will probably have a small budget or end up loaning more players unless we sell VVD looks like we are priced out of Kara Mbodj though

My main criticism of RD is his inability, or unwillingness, to adapt his tactics depending on certain situations. His substitutions were pointless because the team was creating nothing so you're just placing new players into a failing system. Ross County offered virtually nothing in attack but we continued with 4 at the back with only 1 up top. I'm sorry but for top v bottom that's pathetic, especially since their defending was spot on. The best teams in the world have distinctive styles but they also have a back up plan if things aren't going according to plan. RD has pigeon holed himself and the players with this system in my opinion.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Kevbhoy it's easy to look back and be critical but throughout the 90 mins yesterday we were only one cross or a lucky deflection away from a goal. There wasn't a lot available to Deila to make a change that would definitely help. We were completely on top from start to finish, he EVEN gambled in bringing on last season's man in the hope that he could eventually get something right this season. I think the
14 used yesterday have every bit reason to ask themselves, why they didn't score .

Agree0 Disagree1

@ 1) Really a "deflective goal" is that have what we have come to ffs! did we no get enough of them in our first load of games? ( Legia Warsaw / Rekyavic / St Mirren / Aberdeen / Motherwell / ) that is just off the top of my head btw am sure there was more!

Bottom of the league and we are wanting to win via a "deflective goal" dear oh dear what next? where are we headed with that level of acceptance?

Agree0 Disagree0

That's fair enough but if the players aren't doing it on the park then the manager has to take responsibility and change it up. We should be beating Ross County at home no matter what formation we play but these off days do happen (a wee bit too often may I add) and everyone in the stadium could see that they were there for the taking. It beggars belief that he can't play Scepovic and Guidetti at the same time. Johansson playing out wide didn't do us any favours either.

Agree0 Disagree0

Jamiebhoy reading your posts it isn't clear that you would want Celtic to win anyway . My point was that we had so much control of the match we could have scored at anytime . Of course it suits you to make a mockery of the situation, We have all come across the like of you before Jamie bhoy, full of yourself, man of knowledge want rid of manager, when the manager turns it round you disappear until there comes another wee falter .
Never think, that if YOU ARE a Celtic supporter, you should support, the meaning of support is to encourage, not to hurl abuse from the crowd or continuous ridicule on forums . There are enough people who don't like Celtic to do that .

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Dec 2014 00:31:05
Totally agree with u jamiebhoy7! Never thought I'd see the day when we would be needing a lucky deflection to beat the leagues bottom team! But sadly this is the norm and what's accepted by some of the people on here! We should be beating teams like Ross county convincingly! Matter who's on the park! But like I've said before, this ain't just Ross county! It's been nearly every game this season! At home and Europe!

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Dec 2014 00:37:00
Chris02 u talk one load of garbage pal! Jamiebhoy7 is spot on! U need to open your eyes a think! Just because a guy calls it spot on he doesn't want celtic to win! Behave urself ffs! If your happy with us needing a deflected goal to beat Ross county then I've got to question what kind of celtic fan u are! If are in fact one anyway! Keep it up jamieboy7! Hail hail!

Agree0 Disagree0

Chris believe me I want Celtic to win! And I care deeply or I would not be on here! but we should be doing so in a certain style and way, rest assured not only am a Supporter and stood up for CG, LG and even Tonev so my alliance can not be doubted

In RD's case have been patient and supportive but where do you draw the line Chris? I have NEVER wanted rid of RD in any post btw! Where is your niggle point or barometer? to win by a "lucky deflective goal"? That is not a scenario a subscribe too!

ATVB JB7

ATVB JB7

Agree0 Disagree0

The deflected goal point got a few wound up tight . Some youngsters here may not remember but the greatest and most important goal in our history was when Stevie Chambers got a deflection on to Bobbie Murdoch shot and us aulde ones remember well . Seems Jamiebhoy and Dangy wouldn't have celebrated winning the big "un" by means of a deflected goal. Messi and Ronaldo the two leading goal scorers of our time ( maybe Jamie and Dangly ) may have heard of them have benefitted from shots that were deflected and went into net and balls that have been deflected to them and they have scored . So was it alright for Stein to rely on a deflected goal and is it all right for Barcelona and Real Madrid to count goals that have come about by deflection but our special supporters pour scorn at the thought of us scoring from such a situation . I thought some of our fans are a tad hard to please but these two . take the biscuit .

Agree0 Disagree0

At 8) Chris02 . LMFAO! the Chalmers 67 goal was never a deflected goal btw! he INTENTIONALY stuck out his foot to redirect it! so your synopsis where you are trying to index-link a goal to make your point is quite frankly laughable and it's not dangly its Danggy as for a tad hard to please if by winning a "deflective goal" is your contentment level it is not mine an clearly others share that view!

Agree0 Disagree0

Dangy1888 you have some nerve suggesting Chris 02 May not be a celtic fan it's only last week you were forecasting Rangers could score a barrowload against us in the cup semi final. What true celtic fan would suggest such a ridiculous score, as I said In my reply to your above post, behave yourself.killy.

Agree0 Disagree0

Jamiebhoy I see you have one or two agreeing with you . So I am happy for you to have "many " agreeing with you.
The deflected goal that caused so much sarcasism from you and your small group of people who agree with you included in my mind the same type of deflected goal that Stevie Chalmers scored . I don't think I ever mentioned unintentional deflected goals . I would prefer to be seen as someone who encouraged Celtic, the players and manager . Not one who ridicules and posts insults after two bad results .
The more I read your posts the more I think that some Celtic fans are becoming like the dead club's fans . We deserve better, we should win every time we go out to play .
"We don't

Agree0 Disagree0

Is it not past your bed time Chris02? an "unintentional deflected goal" or a "deflected goal" Chalmers was neither! it was a quick thinking movement of feet! But am glad you are happy for me next time you are let out get yourself a happy meal and then we will both be happy! :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't worry about my bedtime . I just wonder are you thinking that Chalmers didn't change the direction the ball that was played in by Murdoch, I was sure he did . In the English Language that is a deflection .
Of course you are an expert trying to deflect from your negative posts ridiculing the manager after two poor results . Try helping and encouraging does the Scottish media not ridicule Deila enough for you or are you hoping for a career with the Record.

Agree0 Disagree0

Keep trying Chris! A deflection is where it hits a part of them usually not meant or a part of them like there back, chest etc

In Chalmers case he quickly repositions his feet, reaches/reacts for/to the ball, connects and steers it goal ward that is NOT a deflection, that is a GOAL no English PL dubious panel needed a simple goal!

Agree0 Disagree0

There was no dubious goal panel at that time. At no time have I said that the deflected goal that could have come at any minute wouldn't have involved movement, intentional or non intentional. I just cannot understand your childish pursuit of my remark . It's not the approach I would expect from a sane adult man .
What the hell ails you. Have you nothing better to do with your time . I came on to this forum to discuss with various different Celtic supporters and discover their views on different topics. I have no intention of becoming involved with something like you on a one word subject .

Afternoon all, IMO what we are watching the now is dire & drivel in comparison to what we are used too!

At this time in the last two seasons our opposition are nearly exactly where they are now in terms of position / points it again IMO it is not the standard of the SPL that is getting better it is that we are slipping backward towards them!

Four of our next FIVE games are away from home there is nothing of recent form to suggest that we will win them if RD loses the lead in this title race he will come under some serious pressure whether you like him or not! and this will bring us up to the most meaningful games we have the two cup games and the Milan game!

I am glad someone typed earlier that the level he has managed at is similar of that to the Irish Leagues & I think this is his problem folks he will never have encountered a setting where the opposition are as countermanding/negative as they are as where he managed their is realistically four of five teams that can win there!

I for one am not filled with confidence you would think a bright articulate man would have figured out by now that our game is won by bullying/bulldozing the opposition? and I think this is where mines and a lot of other people's frustration lies in the fact that domestically we are usually way way out in front and at this juncture we are far from it

ATVB JB7

Believable1 Unbelievable2

{Ed007's Note - So 6 wins, a loss and a draw in our last eight matches isn't much form wise? Football has moved on from bullying/bulldozing teams, that's why we got a new manager in.}

We have had shaky spells over the festive period before, but we are usually a good few points ahead of the pack.
As a supporter, I am not as confident as previous seasons going into games and worry about the players inconsistency and our inability to score from so many chances created.
The final ball and quality of cross is one thing that could be a lot better.
I hope they use this (unwarranted) mini break wisely as there is no room for complacency or relaxation with so much to play for and so much improvement required.

Agree1 Disagree0

Am not getting into an argument with you Ed but the belief that our opposition is getting better reminds me of the "emperor's new clothes"

In our league the backwater of Scottish Football it is ALL about "battle winning" a don't think our league has moved on in any shape or form a think most clubs are now debt free because of there "risk/adverse" strategy! Although a accept many other leagues maybe it is just me but I am used to watching many a Celtic game where the contest as a contest is over by H T and a enjoy exactly that "steamrolling the opposition" and we are a million miles from that!

ATVB JB7

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - Where are the 3 trophies from Scottish football sitting? At 3 different clubs, either these teams are getting better or NL failed last year.}

28 Dec 2014 18:44:54
So Aberdeen have the chance to go top on Thursday! Does that not seriously concern anybody? And every time I here the manager it's we're making progress! Is he havin a laugh! Do u think if we fall behind in the league and don't beat sevco( and I know they're crap, but if!) there's ground for changing the manager ed?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - No. Is that what you want to happen?}

How's the standard he managed at similar to Irish league, explain? That's an absurb comparison with no basis. Norwegian teams have done a lot more in European competitions than any Irish team I can think of.

The truth of the situation is the quality of players at the club has declined since Lennon took control, but yet there are people who were happy with situation cause Lennon was manager.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Dec 2014 19:25:40
No I don't want it to happen.i just feel that we're going nowhere! I'm willing to give him time and see the ins and outs in jan! But in February we've got 2 crucial cup games and 2 games in Europe, and at the moment I'm not confident about us beating anyone! And as a few other posters have said,to only go 1 up front against the leagues bottom team is disgrace! And when it clearly isn't workin the manager can't or won't change it! Worrying times are ahead I think Ed.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed, In the league cup we had other matters on our minds ie CL but we should have beat Morton granted

Aberdeen beat us when whilst a goal up nerves got the better of us and lost two silly goals 1 of which was very fortunate but again given home advantage we should have beaten Aberdeen

But can I ask you seriously (POINT 3) if Sevco beat us giving what we are enduring right now you seem to be saying he will NOT lose his job?

Let me make my end clear I THINK HE SHOULD!

Agree0 Disagree0

I think it might be a blessing that we have five games away from home, as it appears that our away fans really support the team . The odd abusing fan can't be heard above the genuine supporter . At home the groans, the abuse even racial abuse been hurled at our players can be clearly heard . Funny enough we were told before that the next four games would be critical, when we were unbeaten in them we were told the next three games would tell the tale whether Deila should be kept on . Now he is been given another target of games . Why do we not like Deila?

Agree0 Disagree0

@ 4 ) DN30 read it again a said am glad someone ELSE earlier typed earlier of the similarities! of the Irish league

Not many Scottish players move from Scotland to Norway do they as it is a drop down, Norway may be better than Ireland maybe not, but IMO it is not as good as Scotland's

I do not know why again you bring Lennon into it? we all know your opinion of him! his time is gone and if am only concerned about the present mate! & if RD struggles / loses over the next 8 / 10 games or so he will be lucky to survive it & that is a fact!

For the record a couldn't care less if wurzel gummidge was in charge as long as we were winning / stylish I can even live with RD trying to implement change but we have to see some improvement and fast!

Agree0 Disagree0

Jamie bhoy, if things work out the way you say and Celtic sack Deila, will the club be better off, worse off, or just the same .
I suppose an experienced failed ex Epl manager like Warnock would improve us!
Surely a young intelligent manager with modern ideas and the best physchological advice and the best medical people around him should be given a bit of time .

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi Chris, we would never move for Warnock IMO can it get worse than what we are witnessing? It is alien to me as a Celtic fan!

He might be young, bright & intelligent but that is not being witnessed / embossed onto the park/game itself you cannot kid me other wise!

I thought he had the best people around him that's why he went for John Collins right? :-0

Agree0 Disagree0

@jamie I don't need to read it again, I saw it in a post from TTTS earlier. You obviously agree with it so was asking you to explain your reasons.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Dec 2014 13:42:02
All the talk seems to be about either Guidetti signing or Van Dijk leaving, here is another scenario.
With the current form of Gordon who has impressed most people this season (ED007 excepted) if a bid of say £5m+ came in for him would you all be happy to accept it?

Believable2 Unbelievable5

{Ed007's Note - (giggle)

Timalloy . I am not sure of the relevence of your question . All the multi million £ sales in recent years have come about by players insisting on leaving . I haven't heard any rumour about Gordon wanting to sit on a bench in England, or even wanting to play down there again . Have you?

Agree1 Disagree2

I was optimistic about Gordon early in the season but the more I see of him the more unsure I become. I doubt he will ever command a transfer fee above 1M again. With his injury record it would be too much of a risk for any club to take on. I would think when he leaves Celtic it will be for a back up role somewhere else. I've been told a new keeper along with the permanent signing of Guidetti is the number 1 priority for January, this will see Zaluska leave and Gordon will probably become our number 2. No names as of yet but I would imagine moves have already been made. Ed may be able to shed some light on this.

Agree0 Disagree1

Leaving his injury history aside - he was never a goalie I was concerned about facing when he was with Hearts.
I was always confident we would score against him and although he was capable of a save or two, he was prone to the odd howler as well.
I know he has performed well enough, but he has had more practice than most Celtic 'keepers, with the dodgy defence we have at present.

Agree0 Disagree2

I don't think we signed Gordon to make a massive amount of money on him in a resale . I was worried about his injury record when we signed him but I am fairly well assured now that his injuries are in the past, although any player can sustain a serious injury any day in either training or in a match and I suppose some may say he is more suspect than most. Playing wise I think he has done good saved most shots he could and should save although I have to say that although he wasn't primary responsible for either goal against Dundee Utd he could have done better with both efforts .
I wouldn't get carried away with Gordon but he ok as first choice at the moment .

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally disagree with you JJ, I think he's the best Celtic goalkeeper since Ronnie Simpson, if you look at the howlers that every other Celtic keeper has made, Gordon must be in the top two for the least number per games played.

Agree0 Disagree0

You already forgotten about Forster?

Agree0 Disagree0

Gordon much better than Foster

Agree0 Disagree0

Gordon injury prone? Its much talked about. Forrest lustig, brown, denayer, Tonev, scepovic, Matthews, Tampon, Commons, Mulgrew. Have all missed many many games thro injurly. Our keeper has missed 1 game thro a neck problem which was more precautionary that anything else.He may have had a serious injury before but its not stopped him now and been outstanding (not my words but most commentators). My god the guy been out the game for nearly 3 yrs and done brilliant to come back but youcant wait to get onhis back even though he not injured or you hopin he does get injured? Call yourself supporters? Realy? You quick to have a go at anyone who has a go at RD and call them non supporters where is the difference? Havnt seen 1 post about the other guys bein injured and they have ripped their tights compared to what CG went thro.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - You're forgetting the Motherwell game he missed because he 'felt a twinge' in his knee.......
Don't worry, we probably won't need to discuss this next season, we should have a new fully fit GK and Gordon will be on the bench or a distant memory, hopefully the latter.}

28 Dec 2014 12:31:08
Ok let's look at where we are in RDs 1st season. We are in all competitions which is a positive. though out of CL which is probably the most important competition. The crowds are down (they don't lie). Are we playing this great free flowing football we were promised? Absolutely not. Yet the manager must be given time. It says a lot for me that there are many posts on here about the lack of quality just now and how we can't break down a team at the bottom of the league etc.Last season we were moaning about losing to Barca etc and if we just spent a bit more wisely we could push for a last 16 even a last 8 and the CL was a given for us.We had raced away in the league this time last year and beat teams relatively easily, this year we only a couple of points ahead (dependin on results) and teams are breathing down our necks.Sometimes we need to be careful what we wish for.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed007's Note - We're on course for a domestic treble and an appearance in the EL final - depending on results (see what I done there?). This time last year we couldn't say the same. We're in the business of winning trophies and compared to last year we are in a better position to do that, depending on results.
Without any real challenge the fact NL never won at least one treble is a disgrace and no amount of excuses can change that fact, FIVE trophies out of a possible FOURTEEN is embarrassing and if RD has the same kind of record I'd expect him to be sacked, in 20/30 years time nobody will be talking about how much money the club made in 2013, the club and their footballing history is measured by the amount of trophies they have won, that's how you dominate, by winning trophies, did CFC dominate a Rangers-less Scottish game under NL?
European football after Christmas and a domestic double, at least, will show a marked improvement on last season when we were knocked out the LC by a team who ended up relegated from The Championship! And you're happy with the club's recent trophy count?
Thank God there were board members who weren't before we were dragged down any lower - depending on results.}

The abuse hurled at some of our players from the stands, especially when the attendance is only half full doesn't help the confidence of the team as a whole . The ridiculing from posters certainly doesn't help. It's only right and fair that we make constructive critism when things go bad in the hope things will change and be better. After-all I thought we are all supporters who should want the players the team , the manager and the board to improve . Encouragement is a better way of getting results than been a cantankerous old bd .

Agree1 Disagree1

Good stuff Ed, I recall many single goal wins last year with Fraser Forster on MANY occasions saving our skins. I would say that most SPL teams have improved this year.

Agree3 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - The game is finally balancing itself out after years of everyone trying to compete with a cheating club from Ibrox. How many clubs have cleared their debt, one way or another over the last 1/2 years? Aberdeen, Dundee Utd, Hearts, Kilmarnock and Hibs are working on it just now and Accies debt was wiped out a few years back.
The only way I can see Scottish football going is up, people were moaning about there not being any challenge so why weren't we racking up the trophies over the last few years and now we aren't running away with the league it's the manager's fault? It couldn't possibly be that other teams are improving and they are now producing a better standard of player rather than throwing money at foreign mediocre players, something which we've been guilty of ourselves when you think back to some of our signings over recent years.
At least we brought in John Collins with his vast knowledge of the Scottish game (rofl)

Your comparisons between this season and others are laughable rayman. you have a severely bias view on things in my opinion, it seems very clear that you are not happy with the current regime and will take any opportunity to have a go at RD. whether or not we get into the champions league is not the defining part of the season.

Agree2 Disagree1

Its bitterness because Lennon is not manager with likes of Rayman and nothing to do with football.

If you look at league standings from seasons 2010/11 onwards at 18 games mark, Deila is near enough par 3/4 seasons lennon was in charge.

Had Celtic not been beat off Dundee United and drew with Ross County, DEILAS LEAGUE STATS WOULD OF BEEN BETTER THAN 3/4 LENNONS SEASONS POINTS WISE.

This combined with crucial point we are in all competions after christmas, something lennon was unable to achieve only goes to show a few folk don't have a clue what they are talking about.

IN DEILA WE TRUST

Agree1 Disagree0

@Kev yes there were many but those 1-0 wins have been turned into 1-1 draws or even defeats I know which one I prefer. As for Forster savin us yes he did on many occasions but it was usualy just once in a game. Gordon is havin to produce 4/5 a game.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - You must be watching different games to me, Gordon struggles to keep a clean sheet in every game he plays in, obviously that'll be RD's fault though.}

I don't agree that qualifying for the çhampions league is not the defining point of the season, the money and prestige is very important in attracting better quality players to the club.
Whether we like it or not, a large number of fans are not interested in domestic football, no matter whether we are winning or not. The only decent gate we have had this season was for the Maribor match.
Yesterday too many players needed 2 or 3 touches to get the ball under control, the standard is very poor.
Whether you blame Neil Lennon, Ronny Deila, or the board, things need to improve.
I don't think it's good enough to say we are still in 3 competitions, Rangers could say the same, but you wouldn't say they are having a successful season.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - So what has the club playing at Ibrox got to do with anything? Are you seriously trying to compare us with a team that's just been pumped 4-0 by Hibs and is trailing miles behind the league leaders in Scotland's second tier, that's just odd, why not compare us our own team from last season?}

I am comparing this season to last, in my honest opinion the football being served up this season is worse than last year.
There has been flashes of good play but not consistently, the players don't seem able to produce the goods for 90 minutes.
My point on the team from Ibrox, is that being in the competitions is no gauge of success.
I dearly want us to win the treble, but I think the quality of football has to improve for us to have a chance of it

Agree0 Disagree0

I never said it was good enough but if we WIN the treble then that is good enough for me, CL or not

Agree0 Disagree0

Surely everyone knows that the main reason for the dwindling crowds is the very poor economic conditions in Scotland the North of England and ireland. It's one thing buying a season book to, maybe share with a mate or members of the family . It's a totally different cattle of fish to pay for the journey, sometimes by air or over seas, to pay for food and drinks .
Celtic's support come from near and far

Agree0 Disagree0

I read somewhere that Ally McCoist has the besst ever record of any Rangers manager, the article went onto list how he had a better win against games played record, than w.smith, w waddel, etc, leaving aside the new team /old team argument, what I am trying to say is you can prove anything with statistics, the larkhall loyal and the bonkle brethern or whatever they're called, have had to watch a lot of **** in the last few years because shuperally just can't manage a football team, I am still unconvinced by RD and I think the equivalent of easterroad might be round the corner, I know it can all change if a quality midfielder, and centre half are brought in january, and he stars to play griffiths and scepovic up front, but after seeing berget I don't think RD knows quality.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yep your right Chris about economic climate. I tell you what though the climate must have got a lot worse these past few months.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed its always the Managers fault if we conceding goals just as it is if we not scoring them.To me the team has no balance to it, The defenders are never in their right position when defending. Take Utd 2nd goal for eg a throw in and Izzy is on wrong side of cifti that's just school boy stuff.Yet no mention of it, this guy like ambrose has cost us loads of goals time and time again yet we prefer to blame CG who can do nothing about his defence allowin the same teams as last season who had 1/2 shots at target per game get 5/6 now.The utd game bein the perfect example. We were all over them yet they had as many shots on target as we did.

Rayman, it sure has Tory cuts are cutting deeper and deeper and you are very lucky if you are not suffering from them .

Decision is coming soon from young Martin Oddegard, our offer is still on the table. I do conceded we are one of several options. Let's just hope that RD can work his magic on the boy, he is one of best around and could make the grade at Celtic. I actually think he would get some of the fans back to Celtic park . Fingers crossed the boy signs. Hail Hail

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Common sense says CFC for a few years then any club that wants him has a more finished article to go straight to the first team

Agree1 Disagree0

He could be the missing piece between midfield and attack why warm the bench of a super club and not progress when he could progress at a big club and have more chance of game time at a super club when he's developed. Surely his parents will talk some sense in to him

Agree1 Disagree0

But even by that logic he could go to an Ajax or something and still probably get plenty of game time for a better team than us.

Agree0 Disagree0

I wish the Bhoy well. I would love to see him at Celtic, but that is pure selfish thinking . I just don't think the boy would be safe in Scottish Football to many hatchet men in our football who could have a negative effect on the young lad's football future, especially as half our referees would turn a blind eye to it and our media would say " welcome to the big boys Scottish Football".

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree Kevbhoy but Rd gave him his chance. There is a loyalty in Scandinavia that you don't get elsewhere this may just give Celtic the edge. 🙏

Agree0 Disagree0

Kev - we have RD and that is a big plus point, in fact I would suggest it gives us the upper hand. Ed 007 do you have any information regarding his likely destination?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I'll be surprised if he doesn't move to Real Madrid.}

I agree Ed, I think it is almost certain he will go to Real Madrid or another super club . Not only would Martin get taken by the glamour of Real but in all
probability his father would equally put the glamour first of a club like Madrid .
It will be interesting no matter where Martin goes to see if he can make the step from a top class teenager to a top class adult player .

Agree0 Disagree0

Still think he will be a Celt. 🙏😀👏

Agree0 Disagree0

I think whatever chance we have had of getting the young lad has been completely ended by the posts on here and other forums wanting Deila out .
I would have thought the only chance we have of getting young Martin was his faith and belief in Deila . Now after two poor results posters here are questioning Deila's future. Does any poster really think that Martin and his father wants the young fellow stuck in the SPL without Deila here to monitor him . He would be as well in Norway .

RD has told us for months that we have the quality and once the players get used to his system and training then all will be good. Until yesterday that is, now he seems to have changed his mind and has said we don't have the quality. If anyone on here comes out with comments like that we are told we aren't real supporters, we are told that we are quite obviously out to get the manager. So what does that make the manager when he quotes what we have been saying for months? And forget the transfer window bailing us out, we will only spend if we sell Van Dike, so it won't be a case of adding quality to the team. Markie

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think we have quality, we just don't have the creator and a natural finisher. Our defence if we ever get the first choice 4 fit at the same time could be good ( Lustig, Denayer, VVD and Izzy )

Agree0 Disagree0

Not sure we do have the quality kev though I agree about the defence albeit I think the team has no balance. No creator and finisher is spot on that's the main reason there is no quality though as this is the most important part of the team mate.

Just a small rant (in keeping wth my overall stature).
I posted best wishes to all the Eds and everyone else on the site. Two people actually disagreed! Why would anyone do that?

Haha I wonder if the same 2 disagreed with this post!?

Are we really saying that it's ok to draw against a team like county! RD should know that most teams, especially the bottom teams will focus entirely on defending and why shouldn't they if that's their only hope of gaining points. We have been able to break down teams of that quality with the squad we have, c'mon don't make excuses, it's poor coaching and players not willing to fight for a win that cost us points.

The worrying thing about it all, in his mind he thinks things are improving. He will have his following, mostly those who would try to convince themselves that we are in a better place than last year simply for the reason who was in charge last year.
The man might be a great dietitian, a great fitness guru, even a good manager in a league similar to N Ireland but based on what I have witnested to date he is out of his depth .
I will have no problem eating a big slice of humble pie if things change, but I'm pretty confident that I would offer to eat my hat with 5 month old sprouts if things have improved by May.

Agree1 Disagree2

So we are turning up our noses and saying the SpL is really a lot better than the Norwegian . Maybe that's the problem we over estimate ourself . No country with Europa co- efficiencies as low as Scotland have European Football after Christmas, so we can't be all that bad . Did M O'N's team of million pounds all stars not struggle to beat teams from near the bottom of the league . Did Jock Stein, the best manager ever from these island not struggle to beat teams from bottom of the table . Did he not lose a L C cup final by been hammered by Partick Thisle .
It would be stupid for me to compare Deila with either of these maestros but it is equally stupid for Celtic supporters to ridicule Deila and decide he isn't competant enough to manage Celtic . He has more experience at a higher level than M O'N had before he took over Leicester City .

Agree0 Disagree0

We draw one game and the world is at an end Gone are the days we could spend 4-5 million on players just look at the crowds will tell you that its going to be a long time before we can do anything in the CL again We will still win the league all be it tighter than before but the players we have are not of the Quality as before you can only do what you can with what you have I know I am going to get pelters for this post but in RD I trust Happy New year to all you TIMS

Just read in a English paper arsenal are willing to pay up to 20 million for van dijk survey this can't be right but if that's the case he has to go alright saying want to keep our best players but in recent weeks or most of the season he has just been strolling about only plays for himself thoughts

I'd be shocked if any EPL clubs offered serious money for VVD - he's hardly been out of neutral and scouts are not going to be raving about him, we'll probably get a late derisory bid from a below mid table side EPL, looked to be proved wrong.

Agree0 Disagree0

If we were offered £10m we should take it. This new regime was always going to find things tough first year and that kind of money would really help build the team. I always thought young O'Connell looked bright when he played so the replacement might be under our nose.

Agree0 Disagree0

No EPL team will pay 20 million for one of our players. We might get 10 at a push. Markie

Agree0 Disagree0

Theyll need to pay 50 million, our board will still penny pinch buy the cheapest option that doesn't work and then buy more cheap options thrown in with a couple of loans to sit on the bench and cost more than investing in the one quality player they wouldn't buy at the start

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed, We will take 10m maybe push for more but we will get 2m on a replacement or a free transfer or loan further downgrading the quality of the squad

Agree0 Disagree0

I think it is right if we get £10m for a player who insists in leaving, we should buy a player for much less money to replace him . With the dwindling attendance plus the £110 discount for season ticket holders as well as special match day discounts, the board needs the profit from the sale of the want away "stars" to prevent the club having financial difficulties . It would be the height of stupidity to spend £8-10m on a replacement only to have to sell him two/three years later for four or five million . In the current economic conditions of Northern Uk, it's not easy to field an expensive team.

Get a grip guys. Only teams I know that can break down 10 man defences are the teams that spend ridiculous money on players.

As much as I believe RD will provide us with his style of football, we first of all need to sign at least 3 good players.

And please stop this Commons nonsense, he was good last year but has been Sunday league standard every game I have seen him in this season.

Believable3 Unbelievable2

28 Dec 2014 01:03:57
The only teams that break down ten men defences spend loads of money!! Hahahaha are u for real! U need to spend millions to break down Ross county accies st mirren and the rest! Are u havin a laugh? Honestly shows how much the bars been lowered in recent seasons if u can defend a team that can't break down the team that now sits bottom of the SPL! And we've to get a grip! And commons is a Sunday league player now is he! If that's the case I dread to think what scepovic mcgregor stokes Forrest and the rest who get on that park before him are! Commons is our best player by far! And with a run in the team would score more than the lot I've listed put together! Check his goals per game for the tic to back that up! And he's not even a striker!!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I'm sure that Stokes alone has a slightly better goal to game ratio than Commons.}

28 Dec 2014 01:24:44
I was wondering when u'd pipe up ed! Well get there goals per game up then! Keeping in mind stokes is supposed to be a striker! And how much longer he's been at the club than commons! Tryin to remember what season it was stokes scored over 30 goals.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - There they are, so now you've been proven to be wrong there's no point carrying this on now is there?}

Yeah you do hence the reason we can't at the moment. You ever played football against a 10 man defence?

Ross county would not play that way against any other team bar us.

Commons is done at Celtic we will need a younger, fitter and more talented creative force to take us forward and you hit the nail on the head Celtic standards have severely dropped since the days of Henrik, so get used to it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Commons seems to be spending his time helping his agent to get a 2/3 year contract at Celtic .
He would be far more effective proving on the field that he is capable of playing for Celtic right now . He is a mere shadow of the player who scored 32 goals last season, and it's only on last year's form that he is getting so many chances . It appears to me his legs are gone and he can no longer do it .
