Great performance today from the team. Aberdeen couldn't get near us and I've never seen such a 1 sided final for as long as I can remember. Good to be a tim at the moment. Mon The Hoops!

Nobody in Scotland can beat us as long as we perform to our capabilities. The best of it is we are only going to get better and we have a young team on the most part.

Yes a Young team with most if not see their future at Celtic for at least a couple of years.

Expected much more from Aberdeen today, not to take anything away from our victory but never seen a more one sided final. With the league being a given (no exaggeration there) we have the chance to make the 2017 fixtures a virtual training ground. Let's see Christie, Ajer, Aitchison, Kelleher and whoever else we can bed in for the CL qualifiers playing in all sorts of formations. Drop a few points here and there for the sake of it and find out all sorts of combos. Meanwhile, over in Grayskull, they're looking for a cheap roofer and bricking it about going to Tynecastle. That makes may smile.

Aberdeen played as well as they were allowed . They couldn't play better because man on man we were better than them.

Brilliant win and performance on what can only be described as a coo field. Surely there must be a solution to that pitch. How many players from both sides fell or slipped? It must've been murder to play on, it was moving like sand under their feet. Anyway great achievement 100 trophies. πŸ€πŸ€πŸ†.

Just seen the video of Bertie auld there hahaha what a character give us the treble for the lions! In the heat of Lisbon . thanks Celtic for another terrific day.

Great performance from all the players, as others have said broony was outstanding today n just drives the team on leading by example. Wee james played really well n looked a lot more dangerous than he has in weeks n took his goal well, hopefully he finds that consistency n end product more regularly. The absence of sinclair will allow Roberts n Forrest both to play alongside rogic.
Big erik n simo both great again as were the rest n rogic is now a mainstay of the team.
1st part of the treble complete, well done brendan n the lads.
Hail hail.

Not long back from match, a very dominant display from the bhoys which only "sore loser" McInnes will contest. Dare we dream of the treble?
Celtic now have a rare luxury of a free mid week, so team can now rest up then prepare for NINE games in December, only plus side of this being apart from the Manchester City game all the other 8 games are within 10 miles of Glasgow, ie Motherwell and Hamilton so no long tiring away trips.
COYBIG.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I don't buy into all that about long journeys, Tim. The furthest we go is Ross County which is about 180 miles whilst teams in England regularly travel over 200 miles and don't make a big issue about it. Look at the travelling Southampton or Swansea do over a season and it's around 200 miles from Old Trafford to both Arsenal's and Spurs' ground and a bit further for Liverpool.
How would our players handle the travelling if we were ever allowed into the English set-up or even worse a European league?}

28 Nov 2016 22:44:30
Travelling to Ross County is not an experience many people in life would choose . An adventure into the unknown .
In England it's all a first class road network 3-4 lane motorways for the most part . England has a modern rail net work with a full day time table . Scotland has ancient trains and a useless timetable.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - What's that got to do with anything? Most of the player's journey is on the A9 and they're in a luxury coach. Do you think the Club stop Stuart Armstrong from visiting his family in Inverness on a day off because of the travelling involved?}

27 Nov 2016 18:43:04
After seeing the players lift the trophy, my favourite part was laughing at that wee bigot McInnes.

What's happend to Ryan Christy?, I know he's a bit lightweight but I much prefer him to McGregor.

I like his strategy of injecting lots of pace into the squad.

Everyone of his outfield signings have bags of pace and I am sure he will continue this way.

Team with pace is so hard to play against doesn't look like whell tire lol domestically anyway.

Definitely Forrest gordon armstrong and brown have been the most noticeable imo.

27 Nov 2016 17:06:31
Gordon- not a lot to do but what he did he did well.

Lustig- as ever mister dependable.

Simi- strolled it. Guy getting better every game.

Svia-strolled it as well. Building a good understanding with big jozo.

Izzy. Very good game.

Brown- captains fantastic this season and again was great

Armstrongs- good game. Worked hard. Should have had a goal though

Forrest- great game. Scores one wins then wins the penalty. My MOTM

Rogic- really good game. Great goal.

Roberts- good game.

Dembele- good game worked hard tired things. Great penalty

Biton- played well. Help see out the game.

Mcgregor-not a lot of time but worked hard and was busy.

Griffiths- no time to make impression.

To be honest, I thought lustig lost his way for a bit in 2nd half, throw ins, and passes straight to an Aberdeen player, putting the team under pressure a bit but probably just being over critical, excellent dominant game from Celtic.

Kev83 Very good assessment and I certainly agree with Forrest and Lustig . Lustig showed he was still fresh as he jumped the advertising hurdle after getting a Swedish flag after the match.

Forrest for me.

27 Nov 2016 19:01:37
Both were exceptional today.

One of my favourite moments in the match was Brown's tackle to setup Rogic, he really is captain fantastic again and the driving force for our team.

I remember when Paul McStay was playing and often saying, "when McStay plays well, so do Celtic" and I think you can say the same about Brown.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Nov 2016 19:27:54
By the way I was not saying Brown is as good as McStay.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Nov 2016 19:55:51
Pretty sure it wasn't brown that set up Rogic it was Jozo was it not?

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Nov 2016 20:02:42
My mistake if it was Simunovic, I just saw a baldy guy bursting from midfield and assumed it was Brown.

Absolutely delighted with how game is going just thinking how good could Armstrong be if he can get that consistency in his passing really think the boy is so close to being the complete midfielder.

Enjoy the day bhoys

Anyone know if Sinclair is 'out for a month' as some reports states, or is there a chance?

My team if SS is unavailable would be:

Gordon
Lustig
Eric
Joao
Izzy (shame for KT, missing the final)
Brown
Armstrong
Roberts
Forest
Rigid
Moussa

I would want to see LG coming of the bench for a goal, as he has been top drawer for us, turned his career/ life around and has really turned into a great player for us.

The dons will be no mugs today, we need pass the ball with speed tonfrustrate them. I reckon they will come out the traps with aggression to try and stop us dominating the midfield.
Rogic (if starting) will be key

Hail hail.

If we put our chances away we will pump them.

All set for the match, got beers chilling, dinner all preped for after the match, wife and kds away for the day and just about to get the tunes on to get hyped up.

27 Nov 2016 12:58:56
The loss of Sinclair, along with the absence of KT leaves us very weak down the left and Izzy needs to step up and avoid mistakes.
Dembele was isolated on Wed, but today the other forward players will have more time and space to link-up and create and we should keep the pace and pressing as sharp as possible to take the initiative.

Agree2 Disagree0

27 Nov 2016 13:49:48
If I was as confident of the rest of the team putting in a shift as I am of Izzy i wouldn't have any worries .
Big deal Dembele was a bit isolated were playing one of the top three club teams in the world.

Agree1 Disagree1

28 Nov 2016 13:37:31
They will look to exploit Izzy. He is the weak link. I like him though and hope he can return to his former self. A worry though.

Taking our chances has not happened lately I hope today is the day.

I think we may be in for a tough game today, they are going to be physical again. I think we need to pay attention to Maddison for the sheep as I think he can be a game changer for them. I'm saying that if we fire how we should we should have more than enough for them. But they are certainly not there just to lie down for us, especially with that Hun in charge. I'm looking forward to him passing on his congratulations if we beat them πŸ™ˆ.

Poor cup final. Thought we were disjointed, never really got going and very exchanges m are. Aberdeen were worse. History books will show we won the cup so more than happy. Let's power on and wrap up the league ASAP then bring home the Scottish!

27 Nov 2016 10:26:49
Fabadad-Sinclair is a big big loss otherwise I'd agree with your 3-0 prediction. We can thank the cynical b******s who are Barcelona for that today. Although we have quality replacements Sinclair brings something different. Direct and has pace. I'm nearer agreeing with the Butchers Aprons 1-0 prediction πŸ€.

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Nov 2016 10:30:19
I take that back Fabadab-I thought the Butchers Apron had predicted us to win 1-0 which I think we will but she has gone for the dandy Dons πŸ€.

27 Nov 2016 12:41:35
Unless Brownie gets on the score sheet I can't see him getting mom, although I do expect him to be one of our top performers.

MoTM usually goes to keeper or scorers in cup finals.

What to what to do must be the question on BR mind after our CL qualifing who stays who goes, What do i need to compete at the highest level
Goalie perhaps but not right away
Defence needs pace and backup fullbacks
Midfield needs strengh and guile
Forwards the one area we look ok prehaps another winger or can we keep and develop what we have.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The vast majority of the squad has been inherited and it's obvious there are several (some out on loan, others floating about) that are not good enough or not in his plans and there are others who get a game, but are obviously not good enough for the demands at Celtic.
If he is here for the long haul, I am sure he has a list of potential targets right through the team to bring us up to the standard he requires and the supporters will appreciate - going by the difference he has made in the short time, so far.
