ED007; Can you clear something up mate? now that sevco have signed, or appear to have signed, Daly, Law and bell, can they play as trialists? Rumours abound that they cannot. The rules say only players with no contract can play as trialists. If these guys have signed then they have contracts, therefore they cannot play. Cheers. green jhedi

Firstly pleased with the performance today. I thought all bar Forrest were excellent.

Looking at next season and onwards we will probably be discussing who should be coming in over the coming months. Long and short of my point is that I feel we should be tapping into the market of buying players with spl experience. The article (link below) shows how Porto have done this in their own league and the profits they have made selling the players on. I am not suggesting we have a Falcao or Deco playing in our league but after missing out on Fletcher and McCarthy and seeing their value treble or quadruple it is clear we missed a trick.

Our favourite has to be this one below. Batman's got the right idea:

So far there has been no official statement from the Achill Island Celtic Supportes Club - either because they're all out at prayer at the minute or because no one has updated their website since September 2012.

Either way, we're sure everyone at the supporters club is Achill-ing themselves laughing at this particular incident. Sorry.

Thanks to Ronan Laverty for sending in the pic to JOE. ie.

Hi Ed, I've heard Billy Sharp mentioned as a possible replacement for Hooper. Not sure there's anything in it though. Have you heard anything? Also who would you like to see come in this summer Ed?

Stuart McCall must be mortified clutching his bogus award, watching the real manager of the year lift his second trophy of a fine and successful season.
Of course it's not his fault; but the bitter fools who made the award got another reminder who's boss!

On the game itself; Wilson, Hooper, Commons, Broony, Ledley and of course Stokes were best for me with Stokes showing again that he might make a wrong decision or two in a game but is always involved and often makes things happen in attack. Wee Forrest sadly had a quiet game on such a big occasion where I thought he might have excelled? Not to worry; Well played Bhoys and thank you.
Farewell and good luck to Hooper and McCourt on their Celtic swansong and who knows, maybe one or two more in the summer window?
The majority of the squad seem happy to be here and with the release of the loanee's plus a few quality additions we will keep improving and developing a solid European reputation.
Celtic are the only burning beacon in the quagmire of Scottish football at present, with some encouragement and recognition, but sadly much resentment and jealousy from media, press and many others within Scottish Football.
The bottom line is Celtic are being run properly, have an excellent scouting and youth development system and are single handedly gaining respect in Europe.
If it sticks in your 'craw'? Long may it continue.

Thanks a lot Ed007 for all your hard work over a long, eventfull and successfull 2012/13 season.
I appreciate the chance to share, comment and debate all things Celtic with all the contributors.
Have a nice 3 weeks or so's peace and quiet lol.

just watched highlights of the game and have to praise Griffiths. When he went by Forster, at the time I thought he might go down. Having seen the incident, and knowing the ref, he should be commended for his honesty. Forster did get a slight touch on his hip, players have hit the deck for much less, but he carried on like a true pro. Well done to him.

I also did not realise young Forrest was so poor! Did he actually do anything of note? I thought this game might have been the making of him. Lenny made a big decision dropping Sammi, I just hope he is not blinded by Forrest. green jhedi

Gary Hooper 31 goals in all competitions for Celtic this season, not bad for someone who apparently hasn't been trying since January. Would love to see him sign a new contract

Hi All, Hope you all enjoyed the final as much as me and the Mrs did. It was her first cup final, and she thoroughly enjoyed it. She loved our neighbours banter at the game as well, cheers Pat and Theresa. On to the game, Hooper and Stokes were rightly in the headlines of the papers, but for me the standout was Ledley, once again he strolled the game and followed up his display with a cracker of a goal. One of the most underated players at Celtic Park, but deserves huge credit for the way he goes about his job. A player in the mould of a certain Bobby Murdoch. Noticed he has been given the right to play 5-10 yards further forward since he first arrived, and it is a masterstroke from Lennon. I for one would like to see Joe on a long term contract, I am sure that now he has got a flavour of the trophys and Champions Leauge football, it would surely take a big club to tempt him away. And while I am on it, a special mention to our captain, hugely inspirational, and a majestic performance, this young team can only get better.

I think NL will have his head turned and head down to England.
There are a few teams with vacancies, Everton, Stoke.
We should get ready to go for Paul Hartley at a moments notice.

Some interesting points here regarding player registration.

As the football authorities and media prepare to allow rangers to cheat again it is worth reminding people of the actual rules in relation to registration
SFA Registration Procedures
Registration Periods will apply to professional players who compete in football at Scottish Premier League and Scottish Football League level. The Registration Periods will not apply to amateur players.

1. 1 To those clubs to which Registration Periods apply, a professional player may only be registered to play for such a club during one of two registration periods per year as determined by the Board from time to time.

1. 2 A professional player who has failed to find employment during a registration period may sign and be registered for a club outwith the registration periods. "
ie free agents. not precontracts
the sfa rules state
" A player who has signed a pre-contract agreeing to join another club at the conclusion of his existing contract may only be registered for his new club after the expiry of his current agreement and within the Transfer window"

Have daly bell and law found employment with a club. ? Of course he have. are the media and rangers trying to cheat? of course they are! will the sfa let them? sadly of course they will.

Only saw first half yesterday as I had to leave for work. All round good performance.

Great 1/2 of football, young Wanyama is good but in his absence yesterday Brown was huge with a display of powerful soul searching football, based on what I saw yesterday in 1 half was enough to convince me our midfield won't miss Wanyama if he is sold on for a handsome profit. As for Stokes, if fit and raring to go pound for pound value wise he is worth the same as Hooper, I've always felt this.

Hoopers place will be a hard place to fill, could young Watt?. Watt is more of a Stokes type player and with rotation can and will develop his game. Think that Hoopers place will require a substantial sum of pound notes to fill, hopefully Desmond wants to go to the next level and instructs the board to do so.

Things looking not so bad I'd say, the future is bright. TTTS

Glad I spent yesterday celebrating Celtic's magnificent double and very memorable season.

I have just seen a few (and I mean a minimal few) Rangers fans misread a banner at Hampden yesterday which was bad enough but the way some Celtic fans went on & on & on & on about it is getting beyond a joke!

For the past 18 months or so we have watched as RFC descended into chaos and it was big news particularly last summer and I have laughed and watched the comedy just as much as the next person but its old news now. Its their mess, leave them to it. Celtic Football Club have!

There will always be the rivalry regardless of what league the Club that play at Ibrox compete in and their supporters watched for the Celtic results just as much this season as we did theirs. Old habits etc

They did cheat, the black cloud will hang over them forever more. They will be forever more trying to justify the same Club/holding company business.

I hope we can now concentrate on Celtic, we have CL qualifiers in a few weeks and a league title and Scottish Cup to defend.

I just fear for the sanity of some folk when (or if) this carry on at Rangers settles down. They are in for one almighty come down! ~ Mrs E

It wasn't nice yesterday seeing McCourt snub Lenny ok it looked a fifty fifty snub but Lenny at least went to him I personally like the bhoy and know he is Celtic to the bone and he will be very upset that he is leaving but it goes too show once again that Lenny puts Celtic before any thing or any one and that is good enough for me, so this should go out as a warning to all at Celtic that the boss will kick your arse out if and when your not pulling your weight, good luck paddy for the future and all players take heed, jodrok

looks like the mugs froms sevco are about to be relieved of their hard earned all new players quoting the "I want to play in front of 50. 000 fans line" if I did not know better I would think this a party line issued by jabba notice sneaky has disappeared currently and letting the new signings spout this rubbish expect to see st letters to go out shortly

Is anyone that surprised that the "independent" investigation at the down market south side club found no links between whyte and green? what else did you expect with a bunch of "masons" leading the investigations.
Only good thing is that it has cost about £400k to say this. Timalloy

Guys

Stokesy can be up, he can be down.
He can be in the team, he can be out of it.
He causes grief on the pitch and sometimes off it too.
But yesterday we saw what an on-form and in the mood Stokes can do. He was simply magnificent. He chased every ball, covered every blade of grass and harassed every Hibs player along the way. I think he was hugely responsible for breaking any rhythm they could have built up. And he really seemed to be enjoying it too. I hope he carries that attitude into next season.

PS. Thank you Paddy McCourt for your efforts at Celtic. A fitting tribute for him to wear the captain's armband when he came on yesterday. And top marks to Joe Deadly for being the gentleman and giving it to him too.

Folks
I know some of you will think I'm silly but how about Barry Bannan from Aston Villa coming back to Celtic?
It appears he could be available, he has shown enough promise to be a good SPL player and he was with us as a teenager.

Just a thought.
