The more I see of Aberdeen's Scott McKenna the more I like him, he's been excellent I both Scotland games, he liked well with Jack Hendry at the back tonight and is one Brendan should be keeping an eye on, certainly defends better than Boyata and Jozo .

6 CB's? Surely two of them can leave!

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Mar 2018 09:42:17
Yes six is too much but give the youngsters a year or two to gain experience. All young players lose form for a time Boyata and Compper would help them also i would like to see if Siminovic can cure his injury problems as he could be a great player for us give him one more year.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Mar 2018 10:46:51
rogic is the best player we've got.

Agree6 Disagree1

28 Mar 2018 17:51:49
Let Jozo and Boyata go, take what we can get for them
, both injury prone and neither is good enough, invest in Scott Bain, the young French boy Jean Kevin Duverne from Lens who can play right back and centre back, young McKenna and a left back to cover KT, we can sell Gamboa and Erik as well, sign John McGinn and try and get Paddy and Odsonne signed .

Pray tell why are we playing the Republic of Ireland for Broons testimonial? Why not play Derry City and let James McLean strut his stuff at Celtic Park with an appearance by the Derry Pele Paddy McCourt? Go to the Free State and you can't move for EPL tops particularly Man Utd and Liverpool with no interest in Celtic. Go to Derry no EPL tops and Celtic tops galore. Broony could have added the Ryan McBride foundation ex-Derry City player who tragically lost his life to the list of charitable beneficiaries. โ˜˜๏ธ.

Depends in the part of the free state you go to, the most of those liverpool and United supporters have Celtic tops, and the part I come from is mostly Celtic tops.
Go outside Dublin and you will see plenty of Celtic tops.

27 Mar 2018 19:35:57
Is that Roy Keane with a Man Utd top on your avatar Leahy12 petchance?

Derry is the best place in Ireland I've visited jfp. It's celtic daft n everyone a met were salt of the earth. It even had the celtic bar with the celtic chippy next door. Kinda agree with leahy tho, outside Dublin celtic tops are not uncommon.

They do Jim. It's like people in general come to Ireland and they go to Dublin. that's not the real Ireland. There's a clown up there running the country that No one outside of Dublin wants.
People in Dublin think Ireland starts and stops there.
They sold our soul a long time ago and are still doing it today.

The free state doesn't exist anymore . The free state became R O I about 70 yrs ago and only unionists refer to the ROI as free state .
S Brown's committee could have chosen Derry City as their preferred option . They probably gave all options consideration and decided on R O I.

Just read online that 55 years ago today a certain young player called
James Johnstone made his debut in an inglorious 6-0 defeat away to Kilmarnock, who could have predicted that wee Jinky would become our GREATEST EVER PLAYER.

"We've got Jimmy, Jimmy Johnstone on the wing, on the wing.
Jimmy, Oh Jimmy Johnstone
Jimmy Johnstone on the wing"

Those of us who saw wee Jinky play in the flesh were TRULY PRIVILEGED. hail hail.

On the point that Sterling ( england ) is asking the fans for some "love". Could you imagine the Lisbon Lions asking for some love from the fans.
I know we all love our club and our TEAM, however I don't think there will ever be a Team loved as much as the Lisbon Lions.

Hail Hail the Celts are here.

Only in Scotland.

Down in England the Labour Party is embroiled in an anti Semitism row (and rightly so to expose this)
Up here the Scottish version is embroiled in an anti Muslim row (and again quite right to expose this)
Meantime Scott Brown announces that Republic of Ireland will be the opponents in his testimonial match (with bye the way ALL the money going to various charities)
Yet apparently people (ra peepil) are OBJECTING because it is the Republic coming over. it has turned into the usual Anti Irish, Anti Roman Catholic bigot hate fest, yet SILENCE from our Scottish politicians over this.
Shame on the bigots but even more shame on the politicians.

Believable10 Unbelievable8

27 Mar 2018 11:44:59
On the anti semitism schtick Tim, It's nonsense. Look at Corbyns history re the Jewish problems.

Broony, whole different ball game. Why it would matter who Broony has for his testimonial, laughable considering the abuse he gets from EVERY away support, it his his day. This can only be construed as anti Irish bigotry.

Yes, the one form of racism that you cannot mention in Scotland. Ibrokes every week, broadcast on tv with hundreds of police at every match, where anti Irish bile never stops. this time it has been disguised as a question.

Why Ireland, Broony has no connection? What utter utter nonsense. Do you need a connection for a testimonial, is it really that important? Around a MILLION pounds will be distributed to charities of Broonys choosing. Is that not the headline here?

Liam Millers family will benefit. I assume cancer charities, given the case of his sister, will also benefit. This is a day for Broony. We love him, and the rest hate him. But they would love to have him!

Agree9 Disagree4

27 Mar 2018 13:56:43
He doesn't have a connection to Liverpool either as far as I'm aware GJ. But for the week that they were getting talked about as possible opponents no questions were asked. Personally I thought Celtic v Scotland would have been fitting but it's not my choice either, it's Broony's, and that's the only reason that matters.

Agree1 Disagree3

{Ed007's Note - How much of a crowd would turn up to watch an ex-Rangers manager - who admitted his club's cheating - and himself is a known tax cheat leading Scotland out at Celtic Park? Oh and Brown can't stand him.}

27 Mar 2018 14:14:50
A few points here regarding this .

So it's ok for them to play linfield every season with flute bands on the pitch? What's the connection with that ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”

Also we were rumoured to play Liverpool. Broony isn't a Scouser but no one objected there ๐Ÿคฃ

Broony is giving money to Liam Miller's family ( great token ) probably more than was raised at a recent leg ends game ๐Ÿ˜œ

But they miss all connections. Martin o'neil, ex Celtic manager, who also gave Liam Miller his break through? So very fitting Martin brings his current team to raise the money .

The crayons will be out just now, expect statements and petitions galore ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ maybe supercoopereleven could run a poll as to which will be more effective ๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿ™ˆ.

Celtic v Scotland! Couldnโ€™t think of a worse idea! Not having a go by the way Jim but for me that would keep fans away in there thousands! And especially like ED said whoโ€™s in charge now! Na for me the ROI is a great choice, and it should be a great day! Brendan v Martin in the dug out,2 treble winners who both love the club, proceeds going to charity and Liam millers family! Really couldnโ€™t get much better! โ˜˜๏ธ.

whats the problem we were formed by Irish immigrants, we fly the Irish flag for a reason, the only problem the sectarian orange bigots have is that us Irish immigrants are still in this country cuffing their establishment team all the time, some of them still haven't got over 1967 yet and the vision of big Billy hoisting the european cup aloft.
