Not a chance Timalloy mate. I've tried before and failed miserably. Something about monkeys who wear slippers as I recall. Reading through some of the Celtic fans posts, you're all clearly loving what is going on over at the stadium formerly known as Ibrox, as I would be if City went bust, but does the quality of the SPL not concern you? Sure you'll be odds on to win the next 10 SPL titles but do you not worry a lack of Rangers will mean a lack of interest/revenue which in turn may affect your European chances? Maybe not in terms of the coefficient as Rangers never progressed anyway.

TK-Red

Believable0 Unbelievable2

TK Red, yes all us Tims are enjoying our neighbours demise, it has been a long time coming.
To answer some of your other points about lack of money etc..
If Celtic get to group stages in Champions League next 3 seasons we make about 6 times what SKY offer.
Also if that happens and one or more SPL picks up wins in europe our coefficient will RISE not fall.
You probably keep being told about loss of revenue because no ex RFC, well it has been worked out that if every SPL club (Celtic excluded) gained only 1000 more season ticket holders that would compensate for lack of ex club, so no doom and gloom in scotland. Timalloy
PS I am going to send wee Pat on to Man Utd site ....... LOL

Agree1 Disagree0

TK-Red, I am not for one minute condoning the finiancial wrong-doings at
Ibrox but the SPL could have become a much stronger league if it received anywhere near the amount of money given to the EPL. CM

Agree2 Disagree0

I hate to say it boys but "If 'Ifs' and 'Buts' were candy and nuts, we'd all have a merry christmas". My point being that Rangers demise creates alot of unknowns and the SPL could very well flourish and nobody would notice the demise of Rangers but it does rely on an awful lot of variables going the right way.

Awrite ED I was reading somewhere that green could get anything up to 25m for Ibrokes and Murray park. But also john brown wants the fans to buy them don't think he'll raise 25m. They're goin to disappear of the face of the earth.

Paulbhoy010 {Ed007's Note - Green can do anything he wants Paul, as long as Craig Whyte gives him the nod ;-)

It is astonishing the amount of fans that are swallowing this stuff. Why did all these great "rangers men" watch the club die? Did Fergus let us rot into liquidation for a cheaper deal? Guess he loved his club more than these guys............green jhedi

As much as i can't stand the wee bigot, i had to applaud him when he came out and said that no-one has had the davinas to apologise, and he said sorry on behalf of deadgers to the whole of scottish football

so...credit where it's due, he's officially the first man to publicly say sorry for all the sh^t they've put everyone through

Just listened to John Brown's interview on sky, another comedy turn from our neighbours. He was proud to play for the stadium .... I had to rewind it to make sure I had heard it right. I didn't hear what other jokes he has after that point as I had to go change my piss stained pants!

speaking too a few of the lads tonight about the whole rangers saga & a few points came up.

1st being the players walking - when you think about it, its over 10m thats just walked from rangers in the last 7 days leaving just 3 players so far for the newco. 2 who are in their 30s & one who would probz end up back at hearts if he says no to newco.

2nd- celtic/spl money - we have alot of players on big wages 1st one being our captin whos on around 20-25k PW.if rangers go down & we dont get into the groups of the CL i think we would need to sell our top stars to make the books balance.

3rd - rangers & what league - the biggest problem. this was a big one that had us halved.if rangers go into div 1 or 3 then will they ever come back up? when you think about it money will be tight they might not even have a decent team as div 3 is really part time players etc.if div 3 is the only route left then i cant see them holding onto ibrox, would have too many overheads to keep up so would need to sell that & maybe murray park.however if rangers didnt make it up within 3 years i do believe a new league of a spl1 & spl 2 would be formed in some shape or form so that rangers can play celtic some how.

4th - where does it leave celtic ? - they are a big team with a good rep on & off the park (ok forget the banner but other than that really) would we stay in the spl ?

5th - europe - our ufea points will go down with or without rangers & if our league is just a sunday league then will we ever do half decent in europe ?

just a wee debate to take the limelight off the saga thats been going on since feb lol

lenny

Believable0 Unbelievable0

1. I think that was the issue, the players did not want to risk being used as just an asset. There's no way they are going to risk less wages and playing in whatever league..if any. They've been messed about since 14th Feb, faced uncertainty and taken a wage cut. Where is the benefit of transferring ?

2. The players were on those wages last season and all we had was Europa league football. I don't think we pay wages just because Rangers are in the SPL.

3. I know I have my green tinted specs on but when I hear Rangers fans say we'll be back, I always ask them how ? Granted they have a bigger income than most in Scotland but they have the overheads as well. The only way forward for them, in my opinion, is investment in the youth and bring them through..this will take time as well. I'm sure Celtic U19's finished about 20 points ahead of Rangers.

4. I've already been shouted at in this page for asking is it realistic for a Scottish team to play elsewhere...enough said lol

5. Without a crystal ball, i've no idea about the co-efficient or the effect. Something else you can lay at the door of RFC with their arrogance.

Just a point here ed, I read somewhere that newco might have to take a year out of the game to get they're house in order, but if that were to happen would a team not take the vacant place in the sfl? If so surely next year there won't be a place anywhere for them unless someone else liquidates. Edd.
On monday their was a post in regards to the commentator saying he wished a injury of a player you remarked on my post that a tv pundit should not make remarkes of such.
On your comments about mccgregor i would say i take a dimmer view of that than a tv pundit not being impartial.
Your comments could easily put actions into other heads or anything posting comments of such are imature i thot better of you.
Didnt c johnstone in danger or kenny miller.
Anybody who would think or do anything to a human going from green 2 blue or vice versa are mindless and should have no place in society never mind football. {Ed007's Note - Obviously your brain has problems digesting and processing information. Where did I wish any harm to anyone? I was commenting on the society we live in. I am only responsible for what I say and write, I am not responsible for what you hear or interpret. well eds! my first post here and i was just wondering who do you think is going to challange celtic for the title next season? id guess hearts and motherwell maybe but they would both, along with any other clubs in the spl need to improve there squad, i think with rangers gone this would be a good time for other teams to challange for the title, this would help to increase the standard of the league as well, id rather celtic had to put a little effort into winning the league nxt year instead of runnin away with it, i think if the likes of motherwell etc dont spend now and challange for the league b4 rangers return then they never will.... what do you think ed, u do a great job here {Ed007's Note - Thanks mate and welcome to the site. I hope that there is a clamour amongst other clubs to claim the vacant 'second team' in Scotland spot. They don't need to spend loads of money, just be careful who they spend it on and bring through good young players. It could be the best thing to happen to Scottish football in years, there is only one team others need to beat now instead of two. I don't know what you mean by Rangers return though, there is no Rangers to return anywhere. After the club is liquidated that's it, over.}

I would love Dundee Utd to be the challengers from now on.If they keep finding gems in lower divisions and abroad then i think the games between us would be crackers.

Apologies to the Celtic fans for posting this on your page, I just want to get Ed007's take on something. Charles Green is stating that he intends to take legal action against the players who protest the transfer of their registration to the newco Rangers but I dont see that he has a leg to stand on. I'm no business expert but surely the contracts signed with Glasgow Rangers are now null and void as Glasgow Rangers no longer exist as a business? How on earth can he claim otherwise?

TK-Red {Ed007's Note - No worries TK mate (TK is a regular on the Man Utd site), welcome to the Love-Shack. Green has no claim on the players, he should know this and is just chancing his arm, he contradicts himself every time he opens his mouth. Under TUPE regulations, if an employee/player agreed to the transfer to the newco it would have been under the original terms of their contract (£25k a week etc). If they transferred over they would just have been sold anyway as there is no way the club could honour their old contracts. These guys took up to a 75% wage cut (it was supposedly a wage deferral, but no outstanding wages were ever paid), to try and help the old club TK, it done them or the club no good, so why should they lose out on a good signing on fee so that a brand new club can receive a transfer fee? They owe the new club absolutely nothing and are well within their rights to walk away. They have been treated abysmally by the old and new club since February.}

And I bet there is no correspondence from Newco to the players mentioning this mythical 24 hours.

K-Dot. {Ed007's Note - If that was the case the players or their agent would need written notification (and proof of the rule), I can't see it in any the TUPE Regs.}

Ed - you hearing anything about how Green intends things to pan out at Newco. Apprecaite there is nothing confirmed out there.

I keep hearing that he will retain the property assests in a stand alone company (and that his purchase contract by Newco from Oldco allows him to do this ) and he will sell the footballing side to another party who will opearte this as a seperate company, leasing the property assets from Green.

Hearing that in order to do this the preferred option is to take a year out of the game.

One of the difficulties I see if this were to be correct, would be the costs Green would have to incur to renovate Ibrox to a standard where he could then rent it out on a FRI lease.

Any thoughts.

Duff & Phelps wins UK - Corporate Restructuring Advisor of the Year

Jun 27 2012
Duff & Phelps, a leading global financial advisory and investment-banking firm, has been awarded UK - Corporate Restructuring Advisor of the Year at the recent ACQ Finance Magazine Global Awards 2012.

The award winners were selected following nominations from readers of the magazine, who assess the quality of service received rather than the size of billings.

Paul Clark, Partner, Duff & Phelps, stated: “The awards highlight outstanding performers across the professional services spectrum and celebrate the best advisors working across the world – as identified by the readers of ACQ Finance Magazine. It is a real achievement for us to be recognised, not only locally, but also on a global scale by our peers, and one in which our entire team can take great pride”.

The award win follows Duff & Phelps’ recognition at the ACQ Finance Magazine Country Awards in 2011, where it was awarded ‘Turnaround and Restructuring Advisory Firm of the Year’ UK and ‘Debt Advisory Firm of the Year’ UK for the second year running.

The ACQ Awards are presented across 49 different geographical regions, recognising organisations and advisors that have performed to exceptional levels over the past year. Since its launch, the Global Awards have grown in stature and importance becoming a focal point of the M&A community’s calendar.

i agree with one of the earlier posts on dunno why forster is gettin alot of stick. nothing wrong with someone trying to wanting to try there luck on a bigger stage. just the same as anyone else would do in a normal job i.e higher pay / promotion i mean he wouldnt even get in the england sqaud playing up here never mind being there second choice.

reading someones earlier post and i say i agree with about forster. personally i dont blame him for maybe weighing up his options. nothing wrong with that now is there same as what any other person would do in there normal job if they got offered a new job somewhere else with higher pay ! and lets face it if he has any ambition to play for england then hes no chance of even getting in the sqaud never mind there second choice playing up here.

Honestly,if you were part of a consortium trying to wrest control of newco from Mr Green, would you have John Brown as your spokesman? Sounding, and indeed looking, like a moneylender in the Govan pubs,Ultimatums and warnings were aplenty. It seems he has some overseas investors lined up(that rings a bell somewhere) and will organise a share issue(again bells ringing)where every shareholder will receive one share He also is demanding to know who owns ibrokes and murray park, why he would think he is able to demand this is strange as we have not seen anything of his money or consortium.I wonder where these "rangers men" were post administration and poss liquidation? Could they have been hiding because this was an inevitable event? This is what had to be done to move this toxic money pit of a club forward, but the "rangers men" could not be seen to do that to the club they love, could they? So,if they could not stop all that has happened so far, have they got the money to move things forward with a player budget, stadium upkeep and running costs? All this and you dont know what,if any, league you will play in next year.I would think Green might be nearing the stage where he thinks enough already. But instead of rolling over who knows what he might do,lets be honest he holds the aces. The biggest surprise for me though was quotes from an exposed high profile sectarian bigot.Donald Findlay, yes he is back,is supporting Browns bid.You must just be feeling warm all over John...........green jhedi {Ed007's Note - Don't forget they have Nick Griffin onside now as well ;-)

Believable3 Unbelievable2

I could be wrong about this but did David Murray not have some kind of share issue that failed miserably.

Everyone that comes in as the new saviour seems to be quoting and modelling themselves on the Fergus McCann takeover of Celtic. Big differeence though as Celtic had a team, league and (granted post 1994) stability. Mrs E

Wondered when Findlay would appear, looking likely newco wont be accepted for any league which leaves one option.... Buy another club
Findlay tied in with Cowdenbeath who will play in the first division could this be the game plan along...can see it now 'we had no choice it's our only option' no debt/sanctions and spl footy in a year....blinder

Agree0 Disagree1

ED007, Green Jhedi my two bear mates asked where were all these so called consortiums when the club really needed them? Now we have them all coming out of the woodwork arguing with each other.
It reminds me a bit of the old Ulster unionists parties, The UU, DUP, PUP etc..
all supposedly with the same idealogy but could not get on with each other. Timalloy

Agree0 Disagree0

Everyone, regarding Findlay do you think as a "QC" he is advising Sevco on a takeover of Cowdenbeath on the "QT?"

i have that beautiful verse by mary stevenson on my bedroom wall. it got me thinking, what if sally mcmoist was reading it. one night i dreamed i was walking along the beach with the lord. many scene from my life flashed across the sky. in each scene i noticed footprints in the sand. sometimes there was two sets of footprints, other times there was only one set of footprints. this bothered mebecause i noticed that during the low periods of my life, when i was suffering from, sorrows or defeat. i could see only one set of footprints.. so i said to the lord. '' you promised me lord that if i followed you, you would walk with me always, but i have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life, there has been only one set of footprints in the sand''. why when i needed you most, you have not been there for me''. the lord replied.. '' when you see only one set of footprints in the sand , that is because you are a dirty bunch of cheating b******* and no c*** wants you, not even me, so f*** off ya fat person and gie us awe peace.. shamrock

i know its not celtic related but for sevco 5088 to join the SFL in DIV 1 it requires a rule change.

Therefore 24 of 30 SFL members must vote in favour of this rule change (falkirk, partick and raith already opposed). this leaves SEVCO needing 24/27 votes and the 2 clubs that would be promoted up if SEVCO go to DIV 3 arent going to vote in favour.

therefore it is highly unlikely SEVCO can be put into DIV 1 without damaging the sporting integrity of the SFL and breaking the rules.

There'll be no trace of Rangers in any shape or form ate start of the new season. Too much crap, deception and crime to be investigated. Welcome back Dunfermline!
