Just noticed something funny on the sites main page, it says that Arsenal fans have put Dennilson up for sale on ebay Brilliant, i could think of one or two of our players i would put on ebay, and there would be no postage needed, i would drive them there.

Mccoist was quoted as saying he has money and has a budget but he's not saying how much.. does that mean its less than the 12m warchest? Probably less than 5m?
Hi Ed, with the striker situation chasing Aldo de Negris, Bothroyd, Bengston ect what would you think would happen if we get one.. end of striker search? Or can you see us replacing Sammi and/or Murphy also?
Lennons Lions {Ed007's Note - I think if a suitable offer came in for some fringe players they will be moved on. CFC need to find a player to buy, or from within, who can become a regular partner for Hooper. Let our strikers build up a rapport with each other in the way the Henke/Sutton/Hartson era was. IMO it would be better if Samaras was moved on and replaced with a good "old fashioned" CF, with a strong physical presence in the box. Anyone think Rasmussen should be given a chance to prove himself? Could save us money if it worked and could be sold if it still isn't working out. He would need to knuckle down and apply himself better to warrant another chance though.}
Agreed he deserves until jan at least
Rasmussen IMO deserves another chance. I don't see why he was moved on although whenever I've watched him he's always looked fatigued i.e. he's pretty unfit for a professional footballer.
That said he's got an eye for goal. Similar type of player to Kris Boyd. Could definitely do a job for us.
Samaras is too inconsistent to play for Celtic. I'd rather have a decent quality worker that did a job every week than someone who is brilliant one week but utterly useless the next 5.
Think someone like Mark Wilson (but up front). Not a bag of tricks, technically gifted, particularly pacey or ever going realistically going to attract interest from top European clubs but a decent all rounder that works hard, within his means and as a result is effective week in week out and IMO was one of our top 5 players this season. Sammy at times tries too hard to do the unexpected when all we want is someone to hold up play and link with the striker.
I've actually heard Sammy's on some sort of special consistency training regime that involves heavy input from sports psychologists. Hope it works as he'll undoubtedly be here next season and if he gets a run of form he could be an asset.
Kev666
Agree with you regarding Rasmussen.
This a guy who had 44 goals in 84 games before he joined us so I don't think he has become a bad striker overnight.
When he played along side Keane (ie a striker who ran at defences) he looked in his element. I think this is why it was a very odd situation when he was loaned out.
However I seem to remember a lot of talk at the time regarding the fact that he wasn't the best trainer which might lead to a lot of his problems regarding looking unfit but I think his loan spells away might be the wake up call he needed.
Lets hope as this might just save us a few million. :o)

Celtic to seal Wanyama deal
eltic are closing in on the signing of midfield starlet Victor Wanyama, skysports.com can confirm.
We can reveal that the 20-year-old has agreed personal terms with the Glasgow giants.
Celtic are now set to beat the likes of Standard Liege, Racing Genk, rivals Rangers and Aston Villa to his signature.
The Bhoys are now finalising the deal, believed to be worth around £1million, with the player's club Germinal Beerschot and the transfer could be concluded within 48 hours.
Speaking to skysports.com, the player confirmed that he was ready to make the move to Parkhead.
"I am extremely excited, Celtic is a legendary club, " he revealed.
"I am looking forward to this, I have had a great time with GBA, and I look forward to the next chapter of my career at Celtic."
The 20-year-old Kenyan is the brother of Inter Milan star McDonald Mariga, and made his international debut in an unofficial friendly against Nigeria, aged just 15.
Taken from SkySports.com
************
Haven't seen this lad play at all but i trust Lennon's ability to know a player when he sees' one. Despite his age, i imagine he'll be competing for a starting place, i doub't we would pay around the £1mil mark for a youth player.
'Mon The Hoops {Ed007's Note - I know someone that watches football all over the world as his job (lucky so and so), he has seen him play a couple of times and says he should be a good player for us. He is only the same age as Petrov when he joined us and he wasn't an automatic pick so I think NL will carefully choose the matches the youngster starts.}
Re wannyama his Belgian coach spoke highly of him as a defensive midfielder but had problems when moved back to centre half with lots of bookings also this talk of mexican gold cup players i would be wary on two counts 1) look at how disapointing Juarez turned out poor attitude and 2) having played world cup last year and gold cup this time how much energy will these type of players have for a gruelling scottish season and trying to adjust to new country on top of that Timalloy
I dont think anyone can question JUAREZ poor attitude. whats the the boy done to indicate a bad attitude ???????
'kin pisses me off the wee man hasn't had a chance digruntled MARTY BHOY
how are you young ed? {Ed007's Note - I am fine Marty, hope you are well too. I think there is more to the Juarez situation than is getting out of CFC. He had that carry on at international level, but he is back in the fold with them so surely it isn't connected to that. That would be extremely petty. The player has never came out and said he was unhappy (apart from wanting to play more) or spat the dummy out over anything that I know of anyway.}

Just been looking on a few rumour sights and there is alot of chat about aldo de negris (excuse the spelling if wrong), came on here a few times today and it's popped up so started looking up on him.
Looks really good strong forward who would do really well with the hoops, with regards to bothroyd he waiting on the biggest deal for himself, so no respect for the badge of Celtic fc so not interested in him at all, but I know Lenny will be working hard to bring what's best for Celtic
In Lennon we trust
Cumby Bhoy
Would love it tbh although I have complete faith in Lenny's judgement and I'm sure whoever he signs will do a good job. Hail Hail

It's Murrel. The picture is from Murrel's Twitter page where he says he's a winger for Celtic and which is covered in "welcomes" from Celtic fans. @RhysMWilliamson.

Was basing my surprise that we would be interested in Tremmel due to his previous club history.
Gerhard Tremel
2004 Hannover not interested in signing new contract with the keeper. In July 2004 he signs two years contract with Hertha.
2006 Hertha not interested in signing new contract with the keeper (played 20 games in 2 years with 15 of those being for reserves only). In July 2006 he signs for Energie Cottbus.
2010 Energie Cottbus not interested in signing new contract with the keeper. In July 2010 he signs one year contract with Red Bull Salzburg.
2011 Red Bull Salzburg not interested in signing new contract with the keeper.
I doubt (hope) we wouldn't be interested in such a player.

Hi Ed, I'm trying to get into thon twitter site but I never know which is the genuine Celtic player page and which are fake Do you have a list of genuine pages by any chance?
Whilst on, I reckon that losing out on Forster and Bothroyd is excellent news for us. These guys are over priced and mediocre compared to Lennon's 'finds' from last close season. Lets just trust Neil and our scouting network to produce the goods once again.
Thanks Ed, keep up the good work {Ed007's Note - Sorry, I can't really give out that information. It really isn't my place to do that, as a lot of players keep their account locked to allow them to select who contacts them etc. Did you add my account? @JamesBonded007 Thanks for the compliment but I hope you understand my position on giving out players personal information so freely}

celtic have signed a new striker will be in papers the mora word is quiet a decent name with a good record all be onb the mora to see u s all sayen hes signing but a have beat yous all to it
-----
I think I know who this is.
If it's who I think it is he featured in the Gold Cup and is a fellow team-mate of Izzy.
I've mentioned him on here a few times but it might have gone un-noticed as his name is not know over here.
I'll hold my water for noo and see what happens.
HH
/BB {Ed007's Note - Aldo De Negris? He is Mexican and was a team mate of Efrain Juarez in Mexicos Gold Cup retaining team. There is also interest in Danny Ings, a 19yr old striker from Bournemouth}
----
Ed, I thought you have been taking notes my friend. ;o)
Not deNigris although I think after his performances at the GC he will be courted by EPL teams now. Missed the boat on that one.
Naw this player I'm thinking of is a 23yr old striker who scored 3 in the GC and was effective through-out the tourni.
Would also be a steal if we're quick.
Would be the perfect foil for Hooper

This kind of proves a previous point I made. I don't recall Rangers being linked with him but the media always want to make OF signings a tug of war between the two clubs when its very rarely the case.

Sky Sports website has confirmed thaf Victor Wanyama has agreed personal terms with Cetic and a deal WILL be done. I'm really excited about this signing because we're not exactly lacking in the midfield so Lenny must see something there. Honestly can't wait for next season. Strong Celtic, strong Rangers and hopefully a decent run in Europe. Mon the Hoops

Has Chris Burke signed for anyone yet ?
He would do a shift for us he's better than some of the wingers we have / had on our books last season.
Callaghan Cumbernauld en route for Turkey :-) {Ed007's Note - I think he has agreed to sign for Birmingham, but whether it is a written agreement I don't know. As Alex McLeish has left Birmingham now it might affect the deal unless a pre-contract has been signed}
From what I remember when it was report (late last month or earlier this month) there was a pre-contract so Burke is bound for Brum me thinks

Hi Ed, When did CFC leave Glasgow for OZ, ma mate says he saw them at Glasgow Airport today, Pics in papers say yesterday.Confused.com....HOOPIE007..... {Ed007's Note - From what I can see London was the meeting place, so it was up to the players to travel with the club or as by themselves, maybe foreign players were told to go to London as it seems the pics from Glasgow Airport seem to back up, to catch the flight to Australia:

Banter
"Nial McGinn just put on his twitter and I quote "Ragin nat going to Australia"
Maybe its one of the players with his phone taking the piss or maybe this is for real. If it is for real, I reckon the least the club could do before they punt him is take the Celtic supporting youngster with them on their pre-season tour, give him a good send off {Ed007's Note - It is his real account, Rogne is still in London just now as well}"
He also says further down the page that "He had a great time with @agentgerry"
Agent Gerry = Gerry Carlile who funnily enough happens to be his agent (and Paddy McCourt's as well as far as I know). However, STV news has already reported on an interview with Carlile that McGinn wasn't shortlisted as one that's being offloaded, but that a loan deal was a possibility.
As for Rogne I don't know why they'd leave him behind as he's very much in or around the match squad of 18 unless someone's made an offer for a loan deal or otherwise. He's also injury prone so it could be a fitness issue.
The other thing is - why pay for a trip to London (guessing as a stop-gap flight) then send the players home? Surely it's more economical and sensible just to leave them in Glasgow? {Ed007's Note -I have no idea why go to London, could be a shorter trip with less stopovers or something? Remember Rogne was at the Euro U21 Championship earlier this month.}
Yeah I'm guessing the flight is either direct from London or it's the only place that happens to have flights to Australia today.
My question is really why are they taking players to London who aren't going to Australia? Why not just decide who's going in Glasgow? {Ed007's Note - I am not sure if McGinn was in London TBH}
27 Jun 2011 18:21:22

hey Timalloy
ive prob got more dosh lying around than mr Whyte but we are very lucky we dont need 5 top class players to win the league we will just have to do it with the guys we won it with LAST YEAR which was less than the guys we won it with the PREVIOUS TWO YEARS lol

Hey Tonydom seriously what do rangers fans make of whyte do they trust him to keep his promises we all heard talk of "war chest" of £12m where is this money has it all gone to Gordon smith to keep his tan topped up Timalloy

rangers have come up with a new unheard of signing policy-they get a player in for talks ( not contract talks) in the hope the player signs for another club, it seems to be working very well, other clubs are looking into this setup, this forward way of thinking is set to change the transfer market even more so than the bosman ruling, dont you just wish we had gordon smith at parkhead

Celtic will track Mustafa Amini, teenager with Central Coast in Australia when they play against them on Saturday. Amini, who has been the subject of two bids by German side Borussia Dortmund - the latest being only 100k - was on trial in Germany but will return home to Australia so as Lennon can run the rule over the midfielder. I've heard amazing things about him for a couple seasons and, having seen him play, I think we need to do everything in our power to sign him.
Victor Wanyama - sibling to Internazionale's McDonald Mariga - is another teenager Celtic are keeping close tabs on. The Kenyan, who is also on Aston Villa's radar, says Celtic is where he wants to play his football and a bid of between 900k - 1million will be thought to be enough to lure him from Belgian side Germinal Beerschoot. Again, another midfielder who I believe will be sold on in a few years at top dollar. Unreal talent and could easily fetch us upwards of 8million in a couple seasons time given enough exposure and game time.
Jay Bothroyd's deal to the Hoops may be in jeopardy due to wage demands. It is thought the Englishman, who won his first England cap last year against France, is asking way over the mark for his pay. Unless the 6 foot 3 inch forward lowers his demands or a compromise can be reached, Bothroyd may slip away from a Hoops jersey.
Jacobo, the now free agent and former Real Valldolid goal keeper is back again on Lenny's wishlist. After being speculated about last season, the 27 year old may finally make the move to Paradise this time round. Subject to a viewing last pre-season by the manager when Valla played against Inverness, Lennon then asked if a Celtic youth side could play against the Spaniards. The keeper let in 6 goals in that game. I don't know if a keeper who lets in 6 goals against a youth/reserve team is who we need. Either that or maybe we should be throwing in more youth players in to our first squad if they can play like that.
Greg.
Wow Greg, you read the papers, in the know
Celtic lost the game 6-0 mmmm

Hey miko you are one sad little puppy m8 they way you are going on about happy days tells me you are basing your chances on winning the league on who rangers dont sign rather on who your team sign or how they play remember m8 we managed to win the league last year despite who you bought and we will win it this year to.

Leicester City have completed the signing of Neil Danns from Crystal Palace on a three-year deal.
- Sky Sports News
We don't need another midfielder and Rangers lose out on yet another decent player. This is good news.
if you think this is good news m8 you realy need to take a look at the big picture when both rangers and celtic cant compete with a club like leicester shows you how bad we are looked upon 11 years ago you where a big enough club to take thier manager now both sets of the OF cant win the signature of an above average player this is not good for scottish football m8 trust me.
all we are going to attract are over the hill hasbeans and un-known players who will jump ship at the first chance if you think Kayal, Izzy or Jelavic wont go to the first team that offers them more cash than we can you are deluded my friend,
Boughera has just stated hes not going anywhere thats because no one wants him if someone comes in with an offer he will be off. i am sick and tired of all these unproven mediocur players knocking back rangers its insulting and bloody embarrising, i dont know about Celtic but Rangers cant afford to pay over inflated wages and transfer fees and i hope whyte stands firm on this one. the reason for this is sky money how many ppl in scotland have sky sports package then. all we are doing is funding the EPL and Championship.
we both have a great youth setup its about time we started reaping the benifit of it.
Tonydom
Talkin some sense there Tony. Although I think if Celtic or Rangers really really tried to get Danns they would have but I doubt he was either team's top priority.
Kevbhoy
Kevbhoy if ppl could just look past the us and you carry on they would realise that Celtic and Rangers need each other i for one would hate to have a league without celtic in it as i have said all along i like a strong celtic as long as we are stronger lol. and i agree of your assesment of danns but it still sticks in the throat when we cant compete with championship clubs. previously the OF were to afraid to give the young guys a chance but last year due to circumstances Rangers had no option and as far as im concerned the likes of Wylde, Ness, hutton never put a foot wrong and done us proud. if rangers had plenty of cash these boys would never have had a chance.
Tonydom
I am sure i seen something about leicester city being bought over by an international consortium and have money to spend and are aiming to get into the epl. celtic have made some good signings from the championship like ledley, commons and hooper.
I would say Celtic have always been pretty fair with the youngsters. Maloney, O'Dea, McGeady, Forrest etc. but I would hope Lenny gives more of them a bit of playing time this pre-season and in domestic games (if we're winning comfortably). That boy Keatings must be wondering why Samaras and Murphy are keeping him from getting his chance but guys like Goodwillie and Jamie Murphy have shiwn that young strikers can score in the SPL on a regular basis if they are good enough

To the Celtic fan that said Jacobo conceded 6 goals against a reserve/youth team, it was Vallavoid that beat Celtic 6-0. Celtic said to Vallavoid they would play them at Parkhead and there was bad blood because they changed it to a training ground match or something then Vallavoid beat a weakened Celtic team 6-0.

Leicester City have completed the signing of Neil Danns from Crystal Palace on a three-year deal.
- Sky Sports News
We don't need another midfielder and Rangers lose out on yet another decent player. This is good news.

Celtic squad left 2day not yesterday as Joe ledley wrote on his Twitter last night #oztommorrow fact
######################
To correct you, Celtic did leave yesterday, from Glasgow airport to London as they are flying from London to oz, if you don't believe me Lenny pulled an all nighter to adjust to the oz time and some players trying it to it's on lennons twitter.
FACT LOL

RE:Jacobo, the now free agent and former Real Valldolid goal keeper is back again on Lenny's wishlist.
Greg.
I think you'll find it was the Spaniards who won 6-0.

Maybe he meant they would arrive in Oz tomorrow. Meaning they would have left yesterday
Twitter @ds2803
The team left for London late last night where they will fly to OZ today.

Greg, are you drunk.... Jacobo was never tested as it was the Celtic Reserves who lost 6 nil. The guy never even seen the ball never mid touch it thats why our interest cooled. We wanted him on trial never materialised..
27 Jun 2011 13:28:36
Shooter mcgavin? Lovin it ed He is not givin sally any serious cash, no way. How sure can we be that he really wants mccoist as manager in the first place? Av heard he is gone at christmas potentially the way whytes lookin at it just now, just what iv heard. The guy danns was goin to be a first teamer over there and they apparently offered 5k pw. Whytes at it a think for sure. Jamie mac {Ed007's Note - Good afternoon Jamies, I have said before I will be shocked if McCoist is Rangers manager after Christmas, regardless of results. Gordon Smiths appointment was the start of moves to remove McCoist, he was in Portugal last week while Smith was trying to sign players, surely any prospective signing would like to speak "football" with the manager before signing?}
27 Jun 2011 13:11:19
With regards to the bloke who posted the short story on our transfer dealings. Jacobo did not let in 6 goals. His side beat our youngsters 6 - 0. It would appear you have mis-interpreted the column in The Sun.
27 Jun 2011 12:59:20
Samaras goal ratio one every 3.6 bothroyd one every 4.2 , I've never seen the boy play but these arnt great stats , is this a step foward
He's done pretty well the last couple of seasons, he may well be a late developer. What worries me more is the collection of club shirts jay has gathered in his career.
Leicester will nick him like they have danns LOL

Hi guys Just Dropping By to see the news

I am usually the fist to have a pop at Rangers after one of their 'dead certs' transfers goes tits up but not this time.
It would appear Danns has chosen to go to Leicester instead of Rangers. Is that really how bad the Old Firm have gotten? When we can't even compete with the likes of Cardiff or Leicester for players?
What is our game coming too? :( {Ed007's Note - Leicester have very wealthy owners who are desperate to get into the EPL}
Hi Ed re Danns and other players rejecting the dark ones heard they are only offering £8k - £10k Max to you and me a FORTUNE but to a premier class footballer nothing. At least Lenny knows value of a player and offers wages accordingly with a promise of big hike if they perform. I also believe whyte guy does not trust sally's judgement in transfer market what do you think Timalloy {Ed007's Note - There does seem some truth in that rumour, even Rangers men I know have said that the wages Rangers are offering potential targets are "paltry" by their standards. Shooter McGavin is using the bulk of money to try and keep players rather than entice new ones.}
Fair point Ed, but Celtic also have very wealthy owners trying to get us into the EPL :D
It's a sad day when not even the lure of European football is enough to coax an average player to the SPL. {Ed007's Note - Sadly it shows the way the game has become, money comes before glory. You only need so much money, but you can never have enough medals to show your grandchildren etc}
Think you find championship football has more to offer than the SPL both in money and competition, Once both OF out of europe whats to look forward to cold dark trips every second week to play in front of a few thousand people most of which are OF fans anyway
27 Jun 2011 10:42:30
ed ..... I just read the article you where on about. I Think they are all valid points and I hope Celtic do answer all there points. {Ed007's Note - I am trying to get in touch with the appropriate department at CFC to see if I can get an official reply to it, I will let you guys know}

Danns set to sign for leicester city . he has a medical booked
source.....sky sports online
Yes heard Danns is having medical at leicester also that Goodwillie is going to Cardiff - pity I want Sally's mob to pay £2m for a guy potentially going to jail for 2 serious charges

Just read the 'Wake Up Call for Mr. Lawwell From USA' article. I couldn't agree more. I live in Ireland and try to get to as many games I possibly can but I do feel for the fans who just can't afford it any more. I see games on TV where there are plenty of empty seats and the more empty seats just show the larger number of fans who are getting a bit p*ssed off at how they are being treated. I will ALWAYS follow the hoops no matter what corner of the world I am in. WE ARE one of the biggest supported clubs in thne world but this hasn't been tapped into. We should doing deals to tie our merchandise with already established American sports clubs.... The Boston Celtics? The Fighting Irish? and let them do the same with our retail outlets (there is alot of interest in US sports over here).
The club should split the squad and send one to the US/Canada and one to Australia for tours as a show of appreciation for the support that these places give. Celtic is a world wide club, not just support from these shores Also the new idea to have Auld form games in midweek again punishes the thousands that travel to watch Celtic when they play...... I would have to take 1 and a half days off to accomodate this fixture...... not fair or right in my opinion We fans are the life blood of this club. FACT
