Hi Ed, seems like Griffiths won't be fit for next week going by Rodgers comments, Armstrong and Boyata too, how big a miss do you think they'll be?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - No more than they have been.}

27 Feb 2018 23:43:45
Do you think Griffiths should be sold if he can't overcome his injury problems? We'll have to get replacements for Demeble and Edouard in the summer and Griffiths is so frustrating with his calves.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - LG has earned the right to a bit of leeway when he's injured or suffering a loss of form. There's no way in the world we should ever consider selling him in the foreseeable future unless it was to a Chinese team for £25 million.}

27 Feb 2018 23:50:21
Any idea how long this extended period for Griff will be.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Well he won't be back this month.}

28 Feb 2018 00:15:06
Forgetting what Armstrong looks like lol and don't even remember the injury or why it's taking so long; Maybe he's in no hurry himself?
Griffiths maybe came back too soon last time and needs caution, but with Rogic and possibly Roberts returning, it gives us more attacking options and permutations.
I was wondering about the RB position with Lustig missing and if Ralston was fit - or do you think we will we go with a back three?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Armstrong got a hernia op during the winter break but every time there's an update it seems to contradict what's been said previously. Ralston is fit so if it's a back 4 I think he'll play but I wouldn't be surprised if it's a 3-4-2-1 again that Rodgers seems to be favouring.}

28 Feb 2018 00:26:08
He's a brilliant player but far too unreliable with fitness, hope we bring in a quality striker in the summer and maybe use Aitchison as third choice.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Unreliable? He played in 35 games for us last season and has played in 32 already this season.}

27 Feb 2018 22:23:41
I think tomorrow night we have to go out and ram in a few goals with a convincing win to keep the confidence up, with the derby at Castle Greyskull to follow in the league, I watched bits of their game in Perth, tbh they weren't all that great and scored with pretty much every shot on target, if we can hit a bit of form we will beat them, but we will need to play well, otherwise we won't.

27 Feb 2018 22:57:25
I can't help noticing when Griffith, Armstrong and Boyota are fit and playing many Celtic fans post how useless they are, but once they miss a few games through injuries they become star players again.

Agree0 Disagree3

28 Feb 2018 21:51:40
Who is Griffith and Boyota Chris? Seems Griffiths and Boyata miss a few games and you forget their names!

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Feb 2018 21:02:00
Watching Swansea v Sheffield Wed, Glenn Loovens playing for Wednesday, he must be about 100 year old.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

27 Feb 2018 21:08:57
Year older than compper n 2days older than me Stevie. Hills not even in sight yet though my sense of direction has gone along with the eyesight and the teeth.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Feb 2018 21:55:07
The eyesight just creeps up on you, It's mental you can see things 50yds away clearly but a newspaper 2 feet away you cannot read it.

Totally sick of this corrupt and money grabbing UEFA organisation. Champions (Celtic) of an associated country will now have to compete in 4 qualifiers before getting to the first round proper. There is something far wrong with that. It's about time other clubs caught in the same scenario join together and snub them completely cause that's what they are trying to do to us.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

27 Feb 2018 19:57:31
Said this a while back the cl us only for the top 4 countries it is corrupt.

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Feb 2018 20:25:38
As long as you can win the Champions League without being national league Champions it’ll be a farce! ☘️.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Feb 2018 21:08:17
I mean seriously is there really any point us playing against pish teams like TNS, Clintonville, Linfield, Tallinn or Hafnarfjarðar. They're never going to knock outhe someone like us as they're minnows. It's shocking they even made us play the 3 rounds let alone another one.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Feb 2018 21:22:52
Aye but in round -3 you might get the mighty red imps n then your season goes sideways in the most colossal way. Its kinda like jumping through hoops for a stunner who you know is horrendous in every other way. We'll still do it til there's a better option.

Agree0 Disagree1

27 Feb 2018 22:11:31
It's not about the football, that's comes second. its the revenue the greedy money men at the top can make from the fans travelling, spending, hotel's, etc etc. and the more games they make them play the richer they become. also drives the economy. We all agree the champions of their league should be straight into CL. criminals now wear suits and ties.

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Feb 2018 22:33:59
It's the way it is. We would be playing friendlies otherwise. At least thus gives us additional income but we should have been better prepared for it. A home crowd of even 30,000 at £20 a skull and TV money means we earn money,

We can moan all we want. It us what it us and as I said at least we make money. Hopefully the board spend some this time on defenders and a keeper.

Agree0 Disagree1

27 Feb 2018 23:01:55
I am not worried about playing the early rounds, especially if we play teams who are in their close season like ourselves . Cork City could be a danger as their season runs from February until November.

Just wondering that if Rodgers was to leave in summer for arsenal or spurs, what kind of fee we could hope for?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

27 Feb 2018 19:18:45
Rodgers is going nowhere until he does 10 in a row ☘️.

27 Feb 2018 23:05:36
Are we heeding the SMSM again . Jim White would love to act as B R agent .
Brendan made a wrong mistake leaving Swansea for Liverpool, I think he won't rush into making a similar mistake.

Agree0 Disagree5

28 Feb 2018 00:07:00
Apparently 'Grim Muttley' in Govan, is a better manager, so why is he not getting punted for any bigger jobs (snigger)

Wee Lenny having a pop saying is it only celtic that get a call to apologise for a bad decision? Was it Tommy wright that got a sorry phonecall when we got a penalty against st Johnstone a while back?

Believable0 Unbelievable1

27 Feb 2018 21:11:51
I don't recall us getting any calls and I'm pretty sure we didn't get any when Lenny was in charge of us either. The way he conducts himself on the touchline towards officials lacks class and wouldn't merit one when there is a mistake as he isn't well liked. Can't stand this negative spin like we get away with blue murder when we get far more dodgy decisions against us than we do in our favour.

My team for tomorrow

De vries

Raleston
Hendry
Ajer
Tierney

Brown
Kouassi

Forrest
Ntcham
Charly

Dembele.

Believable0 Unbelievable6

27 Feb 2018 18:55:14
@Kev I don't think Brendan will take a risk with Ajer after saying in press his eye was completely closed up and badly swollen. He will go with either Ralston (if fit) or Gamboa at rb, probably Hendry and Simonovic at back. Kouassi will probably come into midfield with McGregor. Paddy and Charly and Compper all probably on the bench.
So team along these lines
De Vries
Ralston/ Gamboa
Hendry
Simonovic
Tierney
Forrest
Brown
Nitcham
Kouassi
McGregor
Dembele
Subs Compper, Musonda, Roberts, Odsonne, Gamboa/ Ralston,

Think the team will be :

DDV

Hendry
Jozo

Brown

Musonda
Rogic

Dembele.

Ed any update on the fitness of Griffiths and Armstrong?

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed007's Note - Rodgers said yesterday that there's no time scale on when LG will be back and I don't know what's going on with Armstrong as he was meant to be back by now.}

27 Feb 2018 19:04:50
I think he will be keeping Armstrong and Griffiths underwraps to announce they are fit before we play sevco for a body blow to them.

Agree6 Disagree3

27 Feb 2018 20:06:23
He's not going to throw 2 players that ain't kicked a ball in ages straight into that game JB67.

Agree1 Disagree6

27 Feb 2018 12:28:37
With a few players set to return from injury, what do you all think our strongest starting 11 is when everyone is fit?

Tough to fit everyone in without dropping some quality players.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

27 Feb 2018 15:41:10
Seriously I would start playing Forest at RB now that Roberts has returned from injury. His pace will help us out no end in that area as Lustig is done now! There is no reason he can't be another Agathe. Therfore my starting 11 when everyone is fit would be

Gordon

Forest
Simunovic
Compper
KT

Brown
Ntcham/ Armstrong

Roberts
Rogic/ Musonda
Sinclair

LG.

Agree0 Disagree6

27 Feb 2018 15:50:24
Simunovic is dire. In team ahead of Ajer? Ahead of anyone? At least Efe had some footballing talent though being a poor defender like Bozo.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Feb 2018 15:59:36
Malky your kidding on? Our best centre half dropped for a guy we haven't even seen play in a Celtic jersey?
Move our best player this season from his best position to right back?

Agree0 Disagree4

27 Feb 2018 16:23:03
It's hard to pick without being harsh on a few players. My strongest 11 would be:

3-4-2-1

Gordon

Ajer
Compper
Tierney

Forrest
Ntcham
Brown
Sinclair (has to be on form)

Roberts
Musonda

Dembele/ Griffiths

*Armstrong and Ntcham competing for CM

*Rogic competing with Musonda

*Griff and Dembele competing for ST slot as unlikely they'll play together. I always lean towards Griff as my first choice!

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Feb 2018 16:28:22
Given the lack of cover we have at both full back positions I'd move KT to RB. We all know KT has a decent shot on him so would allow him to come inside on to his left foot. Everyone who was gushing over compper said he could play LB so throw him in there and see how he gets on.

Gordon
KT
Ajer
Simunovic
Compper

Ntcham
Brown

Forrest
Rogic
Sinclair

Moussa

Moussa over LG as he can hold the ball up well. Forrest over Roberts due to form.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Feb 2018 18:27:52
Gordon
Lustig
Boyata
Ajer
Kt
Forrest
Brown
Ntcham
Armstrong
Sinclair
Griffs
If all are fit lustig is best rb. commper unproven . forrest deserves place ahead of Roberts. i think with griff free kicks he edges it over moussa. and armstrong more mobile than rogic.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Feb 2018 19:05:38
i don't think there will be many changes against Dundee, i think he will wait until the Morton game to make changes with the Sevco game in mind.

Agree3 Disagree0

27 Feb 2018 19:06:41
@kev83, I agree Forest has been superb this year however Roberts is a far better option in that position. Lustig has been getting torn apart this year by half decent wide players with pace. I get embarrassed for him watching him play! To be fair none of our centre half's are first name on the team sheet so it comes down to preference and Simunovic is more experienced than Ajer so that's why I went with him.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Feb 2018 23:10:16
Its great that Roberts is back fit and ready, but he won't be starting many matches in the foreseeable future as Forrest is playing very well and can't be dropped for a player coming towards the end of his loan.
