Well well. All the people have resurfaced have they? Celtic dropped points for the first time in 3 months today! Still plenty more games including an old firm to go. So why don't you go back to mordor until you actually win something! !

Well, watching the carling cup final has cheered me up a tiny wee bit, a cracking game of football, and the underdogs winning. The mix up for the winning goal might cheer Mulgrew and Forster up as well, in as much as they're not the only two that mucked it up today. Why these players don't boot the ball out the park when they are not sure, i'll never know. Alex Mcleish and Peter Grant and Barry ferguson all cuddling, who would have thought it, anyway i'm away oot to drown my sorrows and face the music, whilst putting on a brave face. HAIL HAIL !

Just back from Fir park and very very disapointed with that perpormance today. Motherwell outplayed us in every part of the park, the bhoys seemed like they were beleiving their own hype after last week. The glaring difference for me was the absence of Kayal, we were back to playing the way we were before he came back in the team. Kayal has been my player of the season for his fight in the midfield, but without him today we were awful against a team rangers beat by six, and st mirren beat in midweek. I think Rogne needs to be back in for wednesday and Lenny has to drum it into the Bhoys that, we need 100% every game, but fair play to Motherwell they could have won by more, and this should be a massive wake up call to the team that every game is tough.

Thanks Ed. I take you point about Arsenal but there is no question that without Abramovich, Chelsea would still be a yo-yo team and certainly miles behind Liverpool (and Man Utd, Celtic and Rangers).

Atheist

{Ed002 note - Behind Manchester United financially before and after Mr Ambramovich, but not the other three clubs you mention if you look at the couple of years before the change of owner.}

The SPL might be a pub league in the grand scheme of things, but at least it's (largely) OUR pub league. Ok, Celtic have Desmond, Hearts have Vlad and Rangers have Lloyds and the UK taxpayers keeping those clubs afloat, but pretty much every other team is a 'local'. It's also true that those in charge of the SPL and the SFA don't have a clue. But anyone who thinks that the EPL is anything other than a house of cards needs to think again.

Compare Celtic and Rangers with the other two biggest clubs in Britain, Man Utd and Liverpool. The English clubs have had unbelievable amounts of money thrown at them through Sky and the like, and yet their debts make Hearts and Rangers look like small change. Yes, everythings relative, but given the investment the EPL has had, if the clubs had been run properly, there should have been little or no need go into significant debt. In addition, the EPL has seen the likes of Chelsea and Man City (comparative diddy teams, like Motherwell and Dundee Utd, who maybe had an occasional cup win) being taken over by foreign investors. They now have delusions of grandeur and actually believe they are suddenly big clubs. They're not. They're diddy teams that got lucky at the casino. But they'll keep on gambling until it's all gone. And when the Russians and the Sheiks leave the casino? What then?

They and the rest of the EPL (with maybe one or two exceptions) are living well beyond their means and it's only a matter of time before the whole thing comes crashing down (like the aforementioned house of cards).

Ok, Rangers have problems of their own making (trying to shaft the taxpayers being the daddy of them all. . c'mon HMRC!) and Hearts are propped up by Vladios Bankos (what happens when he also leaves the casino?). Celtic are, despite the fans impatience at times, run pretty well and within sustainable levels. The same is true of Hibs and others. There are lots of things that need to be improved, but give me the SPL anytime!

Besides, I actually quite like going to the pub! Athiest {Ed002's Note - Financially, Liverpool are behind Arsenal and Chelsea.}
