I have to say I think this is a great time to be a Celtic fan, Champions elect for the seventh time in a row and just the cup final v Motherwell between us and a Scottish record of two domestic trebles in a row .
The last time we saw Celtic win 7 in a row it's only us auld ones who remember, 46 years ago, I was younger then .
However there is something wrong, many of our supporters are at odds with some of our players and even our manager . How, come, do we not remember the 1990's . Surely we should appreciate the consistency of our success . Most of us fans appreciate what Scot Brown has done for us over 10-11 yrs, but even Brown wiould be first to say he couldn't do it without his team mates . Should that be Lustig who has played a major role for I think 6 seasons . What about Forrest, Mc Gregor K T who all do a good job for us nearly every week and who joined Celtic when they were about 8 year old . We often speak of the Celtic family, surely we should have special pride in these children .

The problem we have before big games is the MSSM trying to upset us fans and supporters by scare stories re our players wanting to leave, an EPL club wanting one of our players, trouble with manager leaving, trouble with board . All types of nasties, but most of us finally see through their game .
However I think the media have create a sense of insecurity amongst fans and supporters, we don't enjoy the good times like now, because we don't realise how big a club we are, how good a team we are and how good our individual players are .
We are so good now that we should be walking on air all day and kneeling down at night and say a prayer in appreciation of what Celtic have given us .
Now be realistic how could we expect Celtic our manager and our players do better . We are yr 2 of a journey which will finish with us in yr 5/ 6 as competitive at the later stages in Europe .
Keep the Faith and reap the rewards.

Good post OMC, I'm just old enough to vaguely remember the 9th title of 9 iar. It was the 90's that makes me appreciate what we have now. One trophy in the first 8 years of the 90's and enduring years of gloating from the fans of the now defunct club, for this reason I will gloat till my hearts content to those same peepul who are fans of this tribute act. It's frustrating that many Celtic fans today don't appreciate what we've got and overreact when we have a few draws. Maybe last season set the bar too high and some can't accept we were never going to do the same again, even although the end result ( a treble) may be the same. In fact if we do secure the treble it has been an even more successful season than last season.

OMC. Good times indeed and long, long, and even longer, may it continue, Can remember coming out Of Ibrox the season, or the season after they stopped TIAR, and some Celtic fans shouting for big Jock to go after they beat us 3.0.

And it dos`nt seem that long ago I was standing on matchdays out side the main entrance with The Celts for change protesters. my worst time supporting this great Club. where we were then to where we are today, is night and day. Thankfully the right man came in and showed us the light.

Thats why when we get SIAR I will party like its our first and love every moment of our sucess.

Brilliant post Chris, remember this. The old Co under the control of Moonbeams would have gladly put us out of business in the 90's. I was there in the lean years watching humiliating defeats in a near empty Celtic Park. Whist that mob over the city gorged themselves on borrowed cash, we were going through a transition when the bunnet arrived.

A season at Hampden was so depressing as a Celtic fan and still, that mob were taunting us and humiliating us. I will never ever forget that day they won it at Celtic Park. Talk about scum? They showed their true colours that day up Duke Street. Then Jansen won the league to stop them getting 10, Larsson arrived and a bit of feel good factor came back to us. Over 60,000 for a game against St Johnstone!
What goes around comes around. Get it right round them. That's why a win tomorrow will be the sweetest of victories for Celtic. Tomorrow, our invincibles will become champions for the 7th year running and no one is going to stop us.
Mon The Hoops! šŸ€ šŸ€ šŸ€ šŸ€ šŸ€.

Ed is Dembele injured or just not fit enough for the whole 90? Lots of people saying Edouard from the start.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Dembele and Armstrong both trained today and are due in tomorrow for a check up and fitness test.}

27 Apr 2018 21:20:07
I'll be back tomorrow night with the same question! Cheers!

{Ed007's Note - I can't wait.}

27 Apr 2018 23:54:21
Would love to see Armstrong start - even though it may jeopardize McGregors' place - who has never let us down against Sevco.
However having him, Dembele and possibly Lustig available is a real boost to the squad and I feel sorry for anyone that misses out.

28 Apr 2018 03:32:27
Think the starting 11 anyway won't feature Armstrong or Dembele.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Apr 2018 14:30:07
So back earlier than expected Ed but any update on their fitness and could them returning have any impact on the starting 11?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I've not seen or heard anything yet. If they're both fit Dembele will start and I imagine Armstrong will be on the bench.}

Appreciated!

{Ed007's Note - You're welcome.}

Heard anything this evening Ed? Would have thought the media would be all over the story by now if they were out.

Miby Rodgers is sick of his teams being leaked n he's put a false one out to see who's leaking it. The guy that sent me it is a good mate n said he gets sent it from a guy that works in dakota, apparently the team stay there before matches.

I thought Lustig is injured! Iā€™d have Robertā€™s on over Forrest for this one.

27 Apr 2018 20:49:41
Same here, I'd have probably played Griffiths ahead of edouard although he took his goal really well. We'll have too much for them anyway.

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Apr 2018 22:07:42
Griffiths was absolutely rotten against Hibs. Edouard has more physicality which is what gives their defence nightmares. Just look at when they play against Dembele. Iā€™d go with this team.

Every time someone posts a Celtic team . Some genius comes out with I have Paddy on before Forrest .
How can Brendan be so stupid?

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Apr 2018 22:49:51
Apologize for the offense Chris, but the team hasnā€™t been officially selected, just speculating on players form and Iā€™d like Roberts to have a start for this one. If not, hey ho, no probs. I still think weā€™ll stuff them 4:0 again though. šŸ¤ŖšŸ‡®šŸ‡ŖšŸ€.

27 Apr 2018 23:16:55
Leeds Celt I knew that the team hasn't been officially announced , no offence to your good self but as soon as a Celtic team is posted with Forrest in it., someone will post that they prefer Paddy .
It's highly likely that u know more than me, I have become insecure in knowledge of players, but I would like to know what Paddy has done this season to merit a starting place.

Does anyone know if Armstrong has made it into the squad, or is he still injured?

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Apr 2018 11:16:25
James since the winter break hasnā€™t been at it. He has returned to his norm of bad final baw and nowhere near scoring. The reason people want Paddy in is simple. Heā€™s a better player. Thatā€™s it. He has been out with injuries and is due a run, especially since James form has dipoed, and it has.

He will start though, of that Iā€™m certain and unless he regains form we will have 60-65 minutes of him being ineffective then being replaced by Roberts.

I hope he scores a hat trick, plays brilliant though and rams my words down my throat. Nothing would make me happier. Canā€™t see it though. Subbed midway through second half for me.

My main worry is who and how we play at the back though. As it always is.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Apr 2018 19:41:57
Let's get this League done and dusted on Sunday. I know we where poor against Hibs last Sat but play to our potential and the 3 points are in the bag.
We have to up and at them right from the start, an early goal and they'll collapse. I hope Dembele is fit as he strikes fear into the Newco and how good would it be for him to get another hat trick?

I think the Celtic support in the main need to stop assuming that Celtic are certain to win a double treble and ten in a row. These achievements need to be earned and fought for, not just taken for granted. Who knows the lie of the land over the next couple of years, and my opinion is each individual honour needs to be savoured at the point of winning it and taunting others with songs if winning ten could leave us with egg on our faces.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

27 Apr 2018 21:47:33
I agree, letā€™s just get 7 in a row first, then take on the cup final, football can and has changed dramatically from one year to the next at times throughout the years, hopefully we invest in the squad over the summer, think thatā€™s important to.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Apr 2018 11:25:05
It shouldnā€™t be though, should it? Not now we have CL money. Securing the Services of better players this money affords needs to be done. The biggest threat to Celtic, is always Celtic. We dither and hesitate when we have the upper hand and always have. We play this right, ensure we have the players to qualify for the CL and no one up here will be able to touch us. We need to improve in the CL to stop the humiliation of humpings. If we finally address our shambles of a defence we are sorted beyond ten.

Fanny about and donā€™t step up and anything is possible, but it wonā€™t be Sevco who will be our undoing, it will be us.

The summer signings will tell us everything we need to know. Iā€™m old enough to remember times we could have buried them only to hesitate, then slip. To do that again from this position of strength would be an act of criminal negligence.

I still worry about that weak chink in our armour. Get a new chink Peter, Dermot and Brendan. We have the opportunity to truly bury them. Even if they get the sainted Stevie.

If I buy tickets for the upper tier 418, am I going to be in the away section?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

27 Apr 2018 19:08:21
Not for the Kilmarnock game you won't, but you"ll be lucky to have a seat to sit on or a toilet to pish in cos the Huns will be in that section on Sunday.

27 Apr 2018 16:56:58
Hoping the sheep win tonight for 2 reasons, the obvious one and also if they win only a victory on Sunday will do us. Don't want to be going into Sunday with the mindset that a draw is enough to clinch it.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

27 Apr 2018 11:44:54
Looks like Celtic need to play 8 games to get to the CL draw, anyone confirm that, if so, that's crazy for a team that won their domestic league.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed007's Note - We've known for quite a while that we'd need to play 4 qualifying rounds from next season.}

27 Apr 2018 11:56:44
Yeh thatā€™s been happening for a while now! Because the top 4 or 5 countries get an automatic 4 teams straight into it from next season! Itā€™s an absolute farce and the name of the competition should be ā€˜letā€™s make as much money for the bigger countries leagueā€™ could go on all day about what a joke football has turned into, but whatā€™s the point! Give it time and countries like ours wonā€™t be involved at all in things like this! Apart from watching us play Iā€™ve found myself going right off watchn any other football, and especially the ā€˜champions leagueā€™ just absolutely scunnered with it to be honest! And I never thought Iā€™d hear myself say that.

Agree4 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - The quicker they bugger off to form their Super League the better imo.}

27 Apr 2018 12:13:40
Couldn't agree more boys, if Liverpool win it this year it makes it even bigger a farce. How a team that haven't won their own league since 1990 can be champs of Europe is beyond a joke.

Agree2 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - I wouldn't worry about Liverpool winning the CL. Since Barca went out every other team's just playing to see who Real Madrid beat in the final.}

27 Apr 2018 12:21:52
I can only watch Celtic and up til recently Scotland the rest means nothing to me used to be able to watch any game at any time and get into it.

Agree3 Disagree1

27 Apr 2018 12:54:25

Ed I think Liverpool will beat Roma next week so at least we go into the CL qualifiers as a seeded team. Not much consolation but better than nothing.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I don't know, Johnny, Roma haven't conceded at home in the CL this year and if they can get an early goal hopefully the Scouser's ar$e collapses.}

27 Apr 2018 15:51:46
Iā€™ve seen people saying it will be more difficult to qualify which tbh isnā€™t really the case. The level of opposition will be lower than our usual first qualifier. It might actually work out well as it should be like playing 2 friendliest but with a competitive edge.

{Ed007's Note - That's the way I see it too, Kev. }

Roma good team at home and not concede, Liverpool defence query, if Roma can put 3 passed Barcelona then they can do it with Liverpool, but i think Liverpool will be the first team to score against them in Cl, cannot write off their attackers.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - And who would have wrote off Barca's? I do think they'll score but it will be interesting if they concede first I reckon.}

I donā€™t have a problem with having the qualifiers if we are equipped to win them. Which we should be. They are competitive games, get us focused and they will add at least another Ā£6m into the coffers with the gates and TV money. Thatā€™s treble what Sevco will earn the whole season.

Get the players we know we need and itā€™s a win win. Ready for the league and poakits bulging with cash. Bring it on.

I wish people who thumbs down would comment why.
If it's thinking I am ok with it then I am not.
It's a wee bit of sarcastic wit about how authorities in one country go apeshit over a small thing where as in others its completely the opposite.
(now I have explained it, any humour there might have been, is completely lost)
