THEY'RE FC BOURNEMOUTH, THEY'RE PREMIER LEAGUE. well done the cherries with the smallest ground in the premier league

I don't think many people would have predicted that at the start of the season, especially when you look at some of the big names that are in the championship this season. Wolves, Leeds, Birmingham, Nottm forest for example.
I saw yesterday, that they need to do quite a lot of work to their ground, like getting new floodlights, putting in undersoil heating, and upgrading one of the stands, so it doesn't look as if they expected to go up when the season started, so it's a really good achievement for them.

Big Artur aswell. heard he has been brilliant between the sticks for them this season

I think the change from Championship team to EPL may be too much for them to take on board

I read today that Feyernoord may be thinking twice about offering Guidetti a contract, I also read that Deila may still be open to asking our board to give him a big contract, so my question to everyone is, Has Guidetti done enough all season to warrant Celtic offering him a 3 year contract? My vote is no, use his wages to sign another player more prolific.

If we believe and trust our manager Deila , the least we should do is trust his judgement of a player he has had for almost a season . How could we trust his judgment of a player we are considering signing from another club , who Deila and our scouts would probably only seen an odd time .
If the board didn't respect Deila's judgement on a player we have had for a season on trial, maybe Deila should consider his future at Celtic .

Having said all that , I don't think Deila will be making Guidetti an offer unless he knows for sure the board will back him .

Chris02 I think personally the decision has already been made and its a No. After promising start he has fell away and it would be bad business signing him, as he is not suited to this lone striker role

I don't think it would do Guidettis morale any good if Deila publically stated he has no future at club.

If guidetti gets his big contract at celtic I think he is as good an option to any to lead the line with Deila's formation. His hold up play and strength are what's been lacking to bring the midfield 3 into play. Griffiths could be a part of the 3 in behind guidetti. His goals have dried up a little bit I'd like to see his stats on assists and chances created.

PedroCelt Guidetti hasn't done anything to merit a big contract. Even Feyenoords former coach has pubically stated he is not worth it and Feyenoord should go for Kramic who plays for Ado Den Haag.

I know we have considerable financial constraints compared to other clubs in europe, but to settle for 2nd best isn't going to get us anywhere regards progression.

We are missing that right player for lone striker role. Player is out there, its just not Guidetti.

Sorry meant kramer of Ado Den Haag. Looked up a few goals on youtube, actually looks like would do damage for us

Dn30 , you may be right , all I am saying is that if Deila wants to sign Guidetti , then the board has to back him and it is rather stupid for posters on here to think they know more than Deila knows about Guidettii
I don't think any of us knows whether Deila wants to sign Guideti or not.

Chris02 fair point mate. I hope we don't sign him though

If he was worth a contract then surely we would be playing him from the start just now during the biggest games of the season. Imo no he doesn't even come close to have done enough not when Rooney is out scoring him at a rate of more than 2 to 1 in the spl .

I just don't know if I want JG any more he just hasn't treated our club with the prestige and respect deserved! Scroll if didn't want to come and flopped I want players who want to play for the jersey! Armstrong and GMS for instance appreciate the opportunity GMS more he seems as happy as a pig in sh*t!

I would also consider that maybe we have not seen the best of him while the contrat fiasco has been on his mind. He was devastating at the start of the season, then while approaching Jan and beyond has lagged, but this could be due to uncertainty over his future, affecting confidence, or simply trying to impress too much to engineer a move. Getting Gudetti on a 3 year contract may allow us to see the best of him, I certainly think we could do a lot worse.

Tompo88 say your theory is right that contract talks is effecting his game, do we really want someone who cannot concentrate with off the pitch issues?

Personally I think Guidetti has a big ego and thinks he is a superstar. One good season in Holland, never exactly hit success at Stoke City or Burnley and struggles to start for Celtic, yet the kid thinks he's worth £40k-£60k per week! He is having an absolute laugh. We can get a far better player for £20k per week tops

He's not starting many games and after his dip in form and his attitude and demeanor went right downhill.
There is a talent there and with the right coaching he could be an asset; however his commitment and focus needs to be correct and he needs to grow up a wee bit.

Don't disagree with you DN. In all honesty I would prefer somone else, but think like many that he has the potential to be somthing we could not normally afford. Wether anyone ever sees that potential. who knows!?

Guidetti clearly shows how difficult it is to buy a striker who will do a good job for Celtic for a number of seasons . Guidetti certainly came out of the blocks flying , he was playing so well for the first couple of months. , that even if he does reasonable for us now , we are not satisfied .
Sometimes it can take 6months or even the second season before a player can settle into their natural game . At Celtic we , quite rightly demand high standards, sometimes players cannot cope with this .

I just thought I would come on and sing the praises of Nir Bitton! I was excited at the time when we were going to sign him and rightly so! His control and ability to keep the ball in any situation has been excellent along with his short passing game yes he can improve especially with forward passes but that will come I really do think we have another potential world class player on our hands!

Yes he's doing well, but watching him sometimes, I think he looks quite lazy, but agree a wee bit more strength & experience, he could be a class player

I think he has come on a lot and a great addition to us looks a little like bambi sometimes for me when he is trying to trap the ball but none the less a great addition

27 Apr 2015 15:45:20
agree with you tony2bhoy although watching the game yesterday it's not just bitton that's having trouble trapping the ball a lot of players just can't seem to control the ball well at all also special mention for izzy he was pretty bad with his mistakes people were on here talking about getting him an understudy I think he needs someone to really challenge him for his place in the team.

Biton like all his team mates will never be a world class footballer . We just don't have players of that ability just now and shouldn't expect to have . There are so many more attractive clubs and leagues for world class players that it is inconceivable that Celtic will have any .
That's not to say we can't have really good played who when used properly by the manager can play better than their actual skills would indicate . Well coached players can help to build a very good team if everyone works for the greater good of the team

Agree0 Disagree9

28 Apr 2015 09:58:47
I think his control is cracking! He does have a very lethargic look but it's his style and works well he is very well positioned so doesn't need to run about like a headless chicken! Chris02 yes we can't just buy ready made world class players we are talking about finding players and coaching them to their full potential look at wanyama and he's young for his position Fraser Forster could be considered a world class keeper as 15 clean sheets in that league is outstanding!

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think he will be world class as there are flaws in his game like tackling and shooting - but I agree he brings style and composure and plays neat, short passes to link the play. RD obviously rates him and he seems an auto-pick and that shows how valuable he is to the team.
