Would like to pass on my condolences to Green Jhedi I've just heard the news your beloved Real went down 2-1 in El Classico tonight.Stevie {Ed007's Note - Are you looking for a yellow card?}

I believe you've got posters of Ronaldo all over your house! If you scroll down to the post from Bigbadjohn on the 24th the one about his bhoy being a mascot you'll know what i'm talking about. lol. Stevie {Ed007's Note - Ronaldo has got posters of GJ all over his house more like!}

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he meant running out for real as in running out in the hoops for real, not running out for Real (Madrid) as a mascot.

Thanks for clearing that up mgc. Ed I despair. Stevie

Agree0 Disagree0

Stevie and Bishy you have completely misunderstood or misinterpreted Green Jhedi's previous post. He means "real" as in being or occurring in fact or actuality eg having verifiable existence. Not real as in "Real" Madrid which of course is the Spanish for royal meaning it unlikely GJ would have any affiliation with said team.

Glad I cleared that up as there seemed to be a bit of trouble on a conceptulisation issue.

db {Ed007's Note - What's wrong with following 'Real' Madrid??}

@stevie:The other posters are right mate, I meant running out for Celtic for real (small c)! But if he did not manage that Real would be a good second best surely? LOL

No way Stevie, get real!

Is Sneaky having a laugh with his comments . He's saying he hopes to be in the CL in 18 months . You may well be as a studio guest on ITV commenting on how Celtic are are in the last 16 again . DH

26 Oct 2013 19:41:48
Did he actually say this? If so he has totally lost the plot . The earliest the Sevconians could possibly play Champions league is 30 months away. Realistically I reckon around 10 years.Stevie

Agree0 Disagree0

No he didn't say that. He said he hoped to be in the top division by then.

With our biggest rivals gone and the new Club at Ibrox being allowed entry last season to the then SFL 3rd Division, I have wondered where our biggest league threat will come from.

Granted Celtic have swept aside the farce that is RFC like an irrelevance and concentrated on Europe and the Champions League.

In terms of fanbase and matchday income, the Club a poor second to Celtic is the one that plays at Ibrox therefore can maybe challenge Celtic, if they gain promotion to the Premier League by winning League One this season and the Championship next season.

If I was the Manager of this Club that's where my thoughts would be and it seems Ally is thinking much the same.

I was expecting to him to speak about investment in Youth who could challenge for the first team in 2 seasons time (after all it was a Celtic youth player that scored our goal to secure CL football and scored our first CL goal of the group stages this season) or maybe make savings just now and build up a transfer kitty.

But, Nooooo!

The plan is to play in League One - the 2nd lowest in Scottish Professional football and made up of mostly part time Clubs - with the 2nd highest wage bill in all of Scotland, pay himself £825,000 and hope some dude who was part of the old RFC board that steered them into financial oblivion will help him out.

HERE WE GO 10 IN A ROW!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Mrs E - I've been away from this site for a dew months and the minute I decide to view it what do I see? Yes, you've guessed it - posters still banging on about 'them across the road'!!

Personally I can't wait til they get back to the Top Flight - maybe then it'll mean I'm not having to sit in a half-empty Paradise every home game or having to put up with Big Game Hunters who are only interested in Champions League games.

Does it bother me whether they're a new club or not? No - I'm only interested in having some sort of challenge as soon as possible.

10 in a row will be great but I'd prefer it if that lot were in the same league for each year we win it. Let's face it, apart from the first year the next three or four should be gimmees.

Hail Hail

KOB 1967

Agree0 Disagree0

KOB, not sure if you have misunderstood my post or I have your post.

My post is about challengers and I have recognised it will be 'them across the road' in terms of fanbase and matchday income (albeit both these terms are second to Celtic)

I posted yesterday morning when I read Ally's comments regarding needing millions to challenge Celtic therefore it is relevant to Celtic.

I'm just flabbergasted at the millions being sucked out their Club and in particular by the guy (Ally) making the comments about challenging our Club.

'Big game hunters' do not bother me in the least and never understand the issue with this. If my budget allowed a CL game or domestic game then I know where it would be. Glory hunters is an age old debate that will not be going away anytime soon and one you could go on about until your are literally blue in the face.

Celtic can only play the Clubs in the Premier League, Rangers being there or not is irrelevant. If Rangers want to make themselves relevant then the guys inside the Club need to stop bleeding it dry and come up with a serious plan for the next 5/10 yrs.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mrs E. Rangers have bigger gate income than Celtic. Reason being. Rangers tend to fill their stadium every second week. Unlike Celtic who only manage on European nights as the second poster pointed out. As for better fan base. Let's drop the comedy.

Agree0 Disagree0

From season 2010/11 - just to make it fair as RFC's prices were similar to Celtic & it was quite a good season for them. Matchday Income:-

Celtic - 43.4m
Rangers - 31.5m

Not sure how this is comedy from a RFC point of view but hey ho

Agree0 Disagree0

Did you just magic up those numbers then? Rangers have the 13th highest attendance in Europe with an average of 46, 780, Celtic sit 20th with 43, 099 and our ticket prices are considerably cheaper than Celtics due to our circumstances. Let's be honest Celtic fans wouldn't turn up in their thousands to watch the team play the likes of arbroath every other week. Yous proved that in cup games when the stands are empty. What was that about a better fan base?

Agree0 Disagree0

@5 I wish you would leave a name.

I used season 2010/11 when the prices were NOT lower to make it fair. This was the season RFC won the SPL and League Cup yet Celtic had a matchday revenue of almost 12million more.

This gap has only increased over the past few seasons with, as you have correctly pointed out, due to your circumstances the prices are lower.

I cannot speak for every Celtic supporter about why they kept their money for the CL games rather than a Cup game against Arbroath but it does not take Einstein to work it out.

The year Celtic Park was fully completed the average attendance that season was 59, 224 which is much higher that your 46, 780 and without investment in Ibrox its impossible for you to ever reach this figure.

Unless Rangers increase the capacity of their ground, then they could always be 2nd to Celtic in matchday revenue.

Here's where I got my magical figures from:-

What about the flying pig's comment on keane? A complete change of story from the one he told before. This time stating that both neville brothers came upto him and said "hey goalie we don't talk to roy like that here" that fat one, on this new story of his now answered back "blah blah blah". Hard man in print only, check him on you tube being wound up like a wee rat that he is, in the bookies.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Why would Keane a true professional listen to a drunken lout
Tambhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

He comes across as a cardboard gangster but is nothing more than a vile racist bigoted person who attends the lowest of low establishments for the price of a bottle of wine . His bigoted racist comments about Pierre and Dale Gordon should be highlighted for everyone to see . An absolute disgrace of a person . DH

Agree0 Disagree0

For a long time I have found it very annoying the way this daywalker has been allowed to airbrush his bigoted and racist past. It was so disappointing to see MacAvennie trying to cash in by doing a Q&A in a boozer with him. Frank, your better than that surely? As for the Neville thing calling him goalie! What a crock of sh*t.

Exactly GJ 1m% correct.
