Someone until the end of the season isn't really acceptable. They would need to be desperate to take the job on.

Leaving in the summer or next window will be Ajer, Ntcham, Rogic, Elyounoussi, Edouard, Duffy, Brown and most likely Christie.

Not all will be missed but a major rebuild will be needed. Whoever comes in next needs to be the right man for the job, not the best of what's available, not someone who's Celtic minded. It needs to be someone who can stamp an identity on the team and lead us forward. There can be absolutely no doubt that we are regressing at an alarming rate under Lennon.

Dermot Desmond will need to dig deep, just like he did with O'Neill and Rodgers.

A statement of intent is needed here. Either appoint a director of football and get a coach to steady ship until the end of the season while the director of football sorts the playing squad, or pay the money for a quality manager. Let him bring his own coaching staff and backroom team and give him full control of football matters.

Either way a transfer of power from Lawell to a DoF or a new manager needs to happen. We lost Rodgers as he wasn't given total control which has ultimately cost us the 10.

Who do we want?

Believable5 Unbelievable0

26 Nov 2020 22:03:48
Completely agree should have had the courage to let Lennie go after interim appointment, suitability rewarded.
Then appointed someone of similar quality and standing as Rodgers with similar philosophy. We need to pick one and stick with it we keep changing it. There were suitable candidates that close season had we been prepared to pay the money and keep investing in improving the infrastructure not disco lights.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Nov 2020 22:35:08
No, we lost Rodgers as he fancied another crack at EPL.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Nov 2020 23:04:18
The Buck stops totally at Lawell and his Ego, his short-sighted complacency and his player recruitment and selling incompetence.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Nov 2020 23:44:11
It's a really difficult cross roads here. there's not many coaches out there that we could attract that are of the standard of Rodgers.

It cannot be another puppet on Lawells string like Lennon or Deila.

There's a few names out there that I'd like to see us go for but realistically you know there's no chance of getting them. Mainly due to the league we compete in and the Scottish climate.

If an old timer was up for the gig for a few years I'd be happy with any of the following:
Jupp Heynckes
Guus Hiddink
Laurant Blanc
Arsene Wenger

As I said though I think we would have next to no chance of pulling this off. I can't see them coming out of semi retirement leaving behind the golf courses and sunny shores to rock up at places like Dingwall and Tannadice.

An up and coming manager like Marco Rose would be ideal but I don't think the overall pull would be enough to tempt someone like him from a Bundesliga club, albeit they are sitting about 8th in the table.

Marco Silva is also an interesting option and the fact he is unattached should appeal to the money men but this shouldn't make him any more of a preferred candidate.

Then there's middle of the road guys that don't really whet the appetite but could do a good job. Guys like Paul Lambert, Mark Hughes, Nigel Pearson, Garry Monk, Eddie Howe, even Davie Moyes. I think these guys are realistic targets that should be on a shortlist.

There are others who have been really good assistant managers have great reputations as coaches. 2 that spring to mind are Mike Phelan and Zeljko Buvac (Jurgen Klopps ex assistant at Dortmund and Liverpool) . Would someone like this be worth the risk with a Director of Football above them?

The worst case scenario for me is a temporary appointment like Malky Mackay or Owen Coyle. It would reek of lack of ambition and show that Lawell wants to retain control of football matters.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Nov 2020 11:32:43
Rafa Benitez, Ralf Rangnick or Nuno Espirito Santo for me.
Time to push the boat out, no cheap options please.
We may not get any of them, but surely you can ask the question.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Nov 2020 21:27:51
Of course we all want to win everything but going for another treble has been our downfall. Pl, DD and whoever runs the club have thought we are untouchable. Complacency has derailed us big time.

Seriously guys, if no action is taken we will get slaughtered at ibrox. We will lose 5,6 or 7 goals.

To show how far we've fallen, what is the weakest area of the team?
Goalkeeping?
Full backs?
Centre backs?
Midfield?
Widemen?
Strikers?

For the life of me, every area is pi$$ poor. They are not bad players but on current form and guidance we are not going to improve.

Our team is a shambles why players shambles why manager a shambles why results are terrible and we keep hoping and trying to beleive but we need to keep thinking we can come good again that's why we keep our faith but something needs to be done a quickly these results are not good for us well under par I hope we can turn it around.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Nov 2020 21:06:02
I can see Lennon resigning now before he gets sacked.
He surely must now know the players have stopped playing for him.
I knew nothing was going to change tonight after the first couple of minutes when we played a corner back about 50 yards and then nearly lost a goal because the defenders where out of position.
Crazy poor tactics.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

26 Nov 2020 21:25:25
If he really cared about celtic he will resign. Hopefully will be announced sometime tomorrow at the latest. there's no way back from this. Although im sure a lot of people will still back him.

Agree2 Disagree0

26 Nov 2020 21:30:01
Lenny won’t resign, he’ll be entitled to no financial compensation. This was probably his last management chance at this level and will require future financial personnel security. The board will have to come to a compromise with him to a settlement agreement I expect.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Nov 2020 21:31:54
He is still insisting he will turn things around and vows to battle on.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Nov 2020 21:34:03
It's a really sad time Buzz. Yes there have been some extenuating circumstances and problems, but we are almost back up to full strength and less and less of them seem comfortable or confident.
The goalkeeping and especially defending has been atrocious and there was no Duffy to blame tonight and the captain is a pale imitation.
We cannot go on like this or the damage will be irreparable.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Nov 2020 21:52:31
He'll never resign mate. This will be his last gig in football as a coach. There is absolutely no appetite down south for him and I doubt he'd have many takers in Scotland. He knows it and his agent know it hence why he's all over twatter arguing with supporters.

After us Lennon will be luckyvto get a seat on match of the day 2.

Yes I think they should come to a compromise agreement.
It’s best for both parties rather than having to sack Lennon.
Get it done now in a dignified manner.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Nov 2020 22:43:14
Surely lennon is on no more than a rolling 1 year deal. Give him his money and get rid. Livi are looking for a manager as will dundee very soon. That's his level these days, he only got the hibs job as they were a championship club.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Nov 2020 22:54:16
We are, the whole world that is, going into a financial crisis that there has never been the likes of before, there is no way, we can afford to sack Lenny and pay him compensation, I don't think Lenny will resign, the only thing we can hope for is that he starts picking teams that can perform as a team, and stop picking teams for sentimental reasons, at the risk of repeatinf myself I will say it again, we are suffering from the David Beckham syndrome, who kept getting picked for England, when he was way past his best, just because he was the team captain, and you can't drop the team captain, but I think the time that Scott Brown should have been used sparingly has long past, but the unfortunate thing now is, players that should have been nursed into his position have been cast aside, players that could have improved the whole team, playing instead of him, have been shunned, all because of this sentimental dream that Scott was going to captain us to 10iar, but the crazy thing is he could have or might still do that, from the bench, he showed in the StJohnstone game, he, now is much better coming off the bench, but unfortunately, I fear it is too late, players like McGregor, and Soro and Christie and Ntcham, who should have been playing regularly together, to build a sense of teamwork, never got the chance, because Scott's name was always the first on the team sheet.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Nov 2020 00:40:57
The way we end up playing balls back to the keeper from the final third is disgraceful, and it's not even all Scott Brown! Awful tactics/ coaching and it's been happening for too long. The only chance we have of players performing now is by getting a new manager.

My ex bears and The Suit are coining it in betting AGAINST us especially in europe they all got 3/ 1 on Sparta and the three of them lumped on BIG and I mean BIG.
As a punter when you see these odds in a two horse race you get your cash out, only the fact I NEVER bet against my team stopped me.
I now wish I had and use my winnings to keep Lennon OFF the fekin return flight home.

Scott Bain what's he playing at that piece of stupidity will cost him his place in the team and varkas will be back this weekend but that's just shows how much the board and manager fecked up in the transfer window extending Bains contract before tying up Gordon, Elhamed is distinctly average elyanousi is inconsistant and doesn't deserve his place week in and week out manager is average and should go, Lawell should go he is piss poor more interested in his bonus than results or improving the team D Desmond really needs to have a good look at the whole place and decide if he really wants to be a supporter or not personally I Wish he would take his lackeys and feck off back to Ireland/ RANT OVER TILL THE NEXT GAME.

Lennon's recent comment. Can you feckin believe it?

“My backroom staff are the same and the players are hopefully taking on board what we’re asking of them. "

Surely the board have a duty to share holders and fans and get rid of one of the worst managers we have ever had and I know we have had a few in the past.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Nov 2020 19:49:08
Seriously, where do you start with that?

* I didn't see any spark
* goals we lost were again soft, at best
* yet again we simply cannot defend set pieces
* Christies decision making is questionable
* Ntcham, waste of a jersey (going through the motions)
* we know we're fecked when sicknote comes on for Brown
* 8 goals shipped in two games against the 2nd best team in the Czech Republic
* Sparta again looked better organised, every player knew their job and tactically were superior and these guy's probably earn buttons
* does NL understand how counter attackkng works?
* that's 20 goals we've now lost in 9 games
* PL should stay out there and sign their LM and CF

But it's okay because the board are backing NL. Something here is far, far wrong from Lennon and his coaching staff right through that dressing room.

Sorry bhoys for the rant.

Answers on a postcard please.

Decent possession edfy fluffed his big chance for equaliser. and chasing the game you could see it being 3 or 4 against a no more than decent side we are far too open just look clueless.

Agree2 Disagree0

26 Nov 2020 20:10:46
Mally, the defending is school boy material. 20 goals in 9 games is brutal.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Nov 2020 20:12:47
All season been thinking it can't get any worse, but then it does. The transformation in the attitude, organization, and performances since last Jan- March has mysteriously evaporated and the players don't even seem to have retained the basics - especially in defense.
I know losing FF was going to be difficult, but I wasn't prepared for the implosion and utter mediocrity week after week.
Something has to change IMMEDIATELY - not next week - or we lose everything, including our respect for those who once had our hearts.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Nov 2020 20:16:27
But for the first why doesn't ajer just stick hid leg out why pass the buck. a said today we need a proper hard rb who likes defending and a winger cause if your relying on your full backs for width your wide open and get picked off it's not rocket science.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Nov 2020 20:21:06
This has got to be up there with one of the worst performing celtic sides at least in the last 30 years.

The first half was very poor, we seemed to have to much of a gap between midfield and defence and midfield at attack. The defence seems all over the place literally watched players moving off ball and they look clueless. The header out the box jullien puts it into a dangerous area of the 18 yard line, brown should be winning that ball and mcgregor looks like a deer in headlights. 2nd goal ayer let's the ball past him, jullien and bain appear to have no communication and no one had acknowledged the man behind. A ball into the six yard box is the keepers, for me bain takes fault. But again off ball defending is tragic to watch. We didn't look confident defending and looking lacking going forward.

2nd half changed approach we seemed to have a much better midfield to attacking approach, Eddie free kick unlucky, eddies shot from 8 yards poor. Moi shots or drives at goal pathetic. Christie doesn't find the space when out wide. But we did try push forward (i felt ntcham was trying to create, Christie wasn't given the opportunity, moi was on and off, Eddie looked more Eddie like when he got the ball. The defence over committed which caused our last two goals, but again communication someone chase the ball the other guy the runners. Its like watching under 9s defend.

Lennon days surely to be numbered, we are hearing nothing from board, manager and players to what the problems are. We have "virtual season tickets" £50-60 tops (for full family's) fans have invested in hope and are being delivered pi*h its unacceptable. How long can this go on?

Probably a lot less than our prima donnas. Absolutely hopeless the lot of them, its utterly embarrassing, how are we meant to encourage people to come and play for our team, its beyond a joke. We are rotten this season. I never want celtic to lose, but everytime the play that's what feels like is going to happen. Shambles.

That Karlsson would be a decent signing to compete with Forrest.

Agree0 Disagree0

With big Julien back the Defence should be more solid alongside Ajer. Elhamed and Laxalt gives s good back 4 Here's hoping for a good performance to put a smile back on our faces. I can't believe there are actual fans out there who want ius to lose hoping Lennon is sacked utterr🤡🤡s.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

26 Nov 2020 14:51:23
Unfortunately in the last window we signed players to fit the 352. Its left us badly exposed on the wings especially with Forrest out. I'd like to see Frimpong played on the wing with Elhamed covering behind.

Wouldn't mind trying that lineup out Bubs and seeing how it goes it may give us a better balance and width and an ideal game to trial it out in to see if it'll work for the league.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Nov 2020 13:20:51
We have three top strikers (plus Ellyannouusi and even Klimala) , so I would like us to play 4-4-2 and fully utilize two strikers every game Far too often, Ajeti or Eddy are isolated and outnumbered, while Griff (arguably our best finisher) is left on the bench far too much.
He has shown far too much favouritism to Brown, Christie and Cal-Mac playing every game and it's not necessary.
Bain/ Barkas
El Hamed Jullien Ajer Laxalt
Frimpong McGregor Soro Elyannoussi
Giffiths/ Ajeti Edouarde

Would still give us a strong bench.

Agree3 Disagree0

26 Nov 2020 13:53:58
Bubs the 4-4-3 would be a bold move playing bain upfront lol 😆.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Nov 2020 13:59:10
4-4-2 would probably save Lennons job. If Lennon wants to be here beyond New year, he has to keep Duffy as far away as possible and drop brown to bench.

He has to give Turnbull and Soro a chance. These 2 players will save his job.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Nov 2020 14:53:36
