Lubo, jinky, Henrik and Nakamura for me. I would also liked to have included big billy and Paul Elliott (being a centre half myself) Paul mcstay, john Collins (who I loved as a player) Tommy burns, Phil O'Donnell who could n should have been a superstar for us, but for injuries and frank mcavennie (just for his goals and he was part of an exciting team)

Agree0 Disagree0

27 May 2016 18:13:41
I didn't mention Connolly although to my mind he was our best footballer since the late 60's . Unfortunately his career was all too short but I am sure all us old uns appreciate we were blessed to see such a footballer .

How's deneyar doing in turkey? Think man city would be willing to sell yet eds?

Believable2 Unbelievable1

{Ed007's Note - Even if they were I doubt we could afford him. Even more so if he gets his chance with Belgium at the Euros with Kompany out of action. I still maintain that it was terrible planning by the Club to have both CBs in Denayer and VVD leaving in the same window.}

26 May 2016 22:31:00
Fair point ed. they'd no doubt be looking for 20m for him. In fairness I don't know how he's done in turkey. yeah I know. Tbh I still blame that and the inconsistency in defence as the main reason for rd's failures.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Denayer's contracted to City until 2020 so they'll be looking for some serious dough. Even having Sviatchenko from last summer would have made a difference but any team losing both CB's is going to struggle.}

26 May 2016 22:59:07
Said same thing Ed.
Sold the complete spine of a great team at the one time. never replaced with quality.
Hopefully BR will be backed by DD and let us show Europe what we can be.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - If Simunovic is fit I'd like to see him and Sviatchenko start the season as our first choice CB pairing.}

27 May 2016 08:25:04
I agree ed both have looked not bad fae watch av seen and hopefully make a good partnerships

Agree2 Disagree0

27 May 2016 15:59:23
Just watched the Turkish Cup final where he won a winners medal, played well and set up the goal.
If Guardiola sees him as surplus again next season, there will be a queue of clubs interested.
Incidentally the game had flares, exploding fireworks and bottles being thrown onto the pitch so I wonder if anything will be done by uefa or other authorities?

Agree0 Disagree0

26 May 2016 21:13:45
Depending on signings etc and if br goes 4-3-3, I'd like to see a team along the lines of

Gordon (needs to get back to his best)
Lustig/ new rb simunivic sviachenko tierny
Brown
Christie Armstrong
Roberts griffiths new lw/ forward

Obviously simunovic and the others need to prove themselves and brown needs to stay fit but there is a good team within the squad.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

26 May 2016 22:33:13
Agreed, although I'd have either Rogic or McGregor ahead of Christie at present but I hope we see a lot more of him next season.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 May 2016 08:31:44
Yeah lm. Christie needs to be eased in more but I have really high hopes for him.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 May 2016 08:55:29
Gordon, for me, is a half decent reactive stopper.
He never seems to be in control of his penalty area and stands on his goal line waiting on shots too much for my liking.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 May 2016 19:27:46
Ed, I know we will end up getting linked with every available Liverpool player for the next couple of transfer windows, but what about martin skrtel? I wood defo have him in the defence, do you think we could afford him ie. wages?

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed007's Note - He'd need to take a massive drop in wages to come here, I'm sure I read he's on about £75k a week.}

26 May 2016 19:34:18
Maybe not then, lol.

Agree0 Disagree2

26 May 2016 20:48:44
Do you think we'll sign anyone from Liverpool Ed?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I hope not.}

26 May 2016 20:19:32
Hi Ed have you heard anything about the Graham rumour?

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - No mate. I'm treating it as garbage.}

27 May 2016 00:01:05
Aye me too I hope. But he will want in someone or two players who mows his style to push on the others.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 May 2016 08:30:45
RD would you take Joe Allan if he was available?

Agree0 Disagree0

27 May 2016 09:15:22
That was meant to say ed, not rd.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - No I wouldn't. We've got enough average players clogging up the place, especially in the midfield department.}

27 May 2016 13:29:55
Would like Danny Ward, to replace Gordon.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 May 2016 13:49:39
Theres only a handful of players from the starting XI I would actually say are worthy of playing for Celtic

Griff
Tierney
Sviatchenko
Gordon
Roberts

Bitton and Lustig (maybe)

Bin the rest.

Believable4 Unbelievable7

26 May 2016 14:02:50
Rogic, Christie, jozo, SJ, Armstrong all should be added to that list for me.
And A fully fit brown.

Agree7 Disagree1

26 May 2016 14:44:33
is this based on last season? cause i'm pretty sure we were raving about SJ and NB the season b4, i'd imagine that some will be moved on, but don't think there's going to be some mass exodus, if we get rid of 20 players and replace them all with the massive 15 mill warchest that's supposedly there then the same folks wi the same gripes will be back on next yr wi the same arguments, for me he will get rid of a few midfielders and not much more,

Agree5 Disagree1

26 May 2016 15:05:21
Id love to see Gordon leave.

Agree2 Disagree4

26 May 2016 15:23:20
Gordon is nowhere near our last keeper, and doesn't have potential to be. So it's a position we've went backwards in. We need a new no.1. Simple as.

Agree1 Disagree6

26 May 2016 15:33:44
Completely forgot about Rogic! 🙈 Of course keep him. And Jozo keep him 2.

Agree3 Disagree1

26 May 2016 17:07:19
Gordon has shot his bolt and should be a reserve keeper and coach? Simunovic has hardly played and still needs to prove himself. Rogic has not managed a full game never mind a full season and although he has bags of talent, he still has has a lot to learn - as does Armstrong, Christie and McGregor - who should all stay.
Johansen is a class act on his game, as is Lustig and I am sure Henderson has done enough to challenge for a place.
Allen, Cole, CKR, Janko and Ciftci may well join Forrest, Commons and Izzy out the door to make room for better, while GMS, Mulgrew and Brown need to find their best form if they are to impress the new boss.
Stokes has had his chance but if we get shot of Scepovic, Cole, Ciftci and CKR, it leaves Griffiths on his own, so we will probably need better striking options?

Agree2 Disagree2

26 May 2016 23:12:57
Id say emilio earned his hoops.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 May 2016 11:26:37
See press have Rogic strongly linked with Arsenal. I think he would be a significant loss even at £7 million. I would hold on to him if we could get rid of others first (big if. )

Believable0 Unbelievable6

26 May 2016 12:35:17
Problem is if he wants to leave though.

Agree2 Disagree1

26 May 2016 12:50:32
Can't see it happening. I like Rogic but IF Arsenal came calling for £7m, I'd take it.

He needs another full season under him to see if he can be consistent.

Agree3 Disagree2

26 May 2016 13:00:48
See gaston Ramirez has left Southampton, played well at Middlesbrough. Could be worth a punt of wages aren't a problem.

Agree4 Disagree1

26 May 2016 13:11:16
I really rate rogic and would be looking to build round him.

Agree4 Disagree2

26 May 2016 13:16:58
If the player wants to leave then sell him, I would never keep a player who isn't 100% committed to the club, having said that it might just be idiot papers making up crap as per.

Agree7 Disagree1

26 May 2016 20:20:22
Id snap their hand off for7m. I really like rogic but we have tonnes of players for his position, use that to buy a left winger and play Christie in that position. Was Ramirez the boy that scored loads for Southampton and then got injured?

Agree0 Disagree1

26 May 2016 21:00:38
Pretty sure your thinking or Rodriguez, ramirez is a cma who played alright in his first season but I'm pretty sure he had some falling out behind the scenes at Southampton.

Agree0 Disagree1

26 May 2016 21:14:38
Agh good man. So it was.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 May 2016 21:31:27
If Rogic's head has been turned by noises from down south, so be it. 7 big one's is a lot of candy for a player who has scored a few crackers this season has quick feet, and is a decent player. He is injury prone though and can't seem to last a full 90. He is no midfield maestro in my opinion and I would take the 7 million if true, and spend it on getting Gary Hooper back.

Agree0 Disagree1

27 May 2016 01:22:35
I think a lot of the Rogic to Arsenal chat started in the Australian Press . I seem to remember great excitement in their media when Rogic came to Celtic although they thought he should have signed for the Govan club .
If Brendan Rodgers really wants him to stay he will stay. I think BR will sell a couple of players as well as the players who are not really any benefit to us . This will boost his budget.
