26 Jul 2017 23:39:47
Well that was tough tonight.

But a little perspective, looking across all the ties from the 3rd round, we have 20 teams.

Of the top ten teams out of the 20, only two won their first leg - Olympiacos and Maribor.

Three drew their first leg - Celtic, Qarabag and Salzburg.

Half of the top ranked teams lost their first legs - Copenhagen, Ludogorets, BATE, Legia and APOEL.

It's a hard road, but I'm confident we can make it through.

We need to look at bringing in a striker if MD is going to be out for a while?

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jul 2017 00:12:48
Damn mb good shout but not feeling it brho hh.

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Jul 2017 08:19:47
MD is becoming a Daniel Sturbridge, permanent sick note. Have we ever had a striker off so much. That mob must be laughing at us. Mon the hoops πŸ€πŸ€πŸ€.

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Jul 2017 09:00:53
His injuries are becoming a slight concern ged. I was thinking about Sturridge last night actually, and that BR will know now not to rush him back. We certainly beed to get a striker in seeing as Aitchison gets overlooked. If LG is fit I'm confident we'll do the business over there.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Jul 2017 23:06:54
That was a very frustrating performance to say the least but I remain positive due to the fact we didn't concede whilst being very poor. Also if Dundalk can go over there and get a 1-1 draw then we can go there and win or at the very least earn a score draw. Having a striker of some description would be a big help!

Believable1 Unbelievable1

27 Jul 2017 06:19:13
It was the lack of chances created by us and the fact that they had 3 really clear cut chances that concerned me. This tie is far from over but a big improvement in performance over in Norway will be needed to see us through. Just hope Griffith's is fit for next week. No disrespect to Dundalk but it took 210 minutes of football for rosenborg to put them out, Dundalk scored home and away against them yet I felt we could still be playing them now and not have scored.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jul 2017 22:56:32
A small period of adversity is what we are dealing with here, all the carry on last week with linfield, griffiths and the GB, and now tonight. I was initially worried about the return leg after FT, but having time to see the bigger picture im positive. This group of players have been asked more than a few questions when the pressure has been on, and not one single time have they let us down. They will be working hard all week to rectify tonight. The group have a winning mentality and will be just as perplexed as us fans at the way it panned out. Id settle for a score draw next week, but the way our team have reacted to these kind of hiccups in the recent past i predict a win outright.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

26 Jul 2017 22:45:57
Underwhelmed to be honest. Think hayes needs to start next week, forrest was poor with very little In the way of any kind of final Ball.

And we need a striker or two, especially with dembele allegedly out for a couple of months.

Thought Ajer looked solid enough as a back up for this season.

Still reckon we'll scrape through right enough.

I can remember 2 Forrest just by the post and Armstrong worked the keeper.

Well that was pretty dire very flat lucky to get the draw. Surely can't play worse next week.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

26 Jul 2017 22:04:38
Tonight just proves we need another striker we should be beating teams like Rosenberg. We need griffiths fit for the next leg we need a good result next week.

Believable5 Unbelievable1

26 Jul 2017 21:54:42
Well that could make for a nervous game over in Trondheim. Still confident though we just need to sort the dynamics out. That just didn't work at all.

Believable6 Unbelievable4

{Ed007's Note - The team looked disjointed, JT. I don't think we played too badly but we done nothing in the final 3rd. I still think we'll go through too.}

26 Jul 2017 22:07:04
Guys I really hope we do this but just feel there was no drive in the team to make it happen no one wanted it till Hayes came on feeling a bit ****ed after that hh.

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - One goal over there and they need 2, I'm confident we'll score if we have a striker on the park.}

26 Jul 2017 22:25:30
Griffiths is injured too, so we probably won't have a striker on the park. Surely Ciftci should have been registered. At least he know's how to play the position.

Agree1 Disagree3

{Ed007's Note - I've just seen LG's a doubt but even at that, if we can't get a scoring draw against a team no better than the SPFL we don't deserve to be in the CL and there will serious questions asked AGAIN about the board backing the manager. We're streets ahead of any domestic competition but we need to be making inroads in Europe, the board have dropped the ball in the past and hopefully their gamble pays off.}

26 Jul 2017 22:25:53
I think having LG back will make all the difference. He doesn't just have the natural instinct and movement, but Rogic and Sinclair should be a lot more comfortable in their roles too. Hayes has to start being on the team sheet ahead of Forrest.

Agree1 Disagree1

26 Jul 2017 22:39:19
Ano bond but it's just galling that we can't put in a performance never mind s goal bud hope we get there but just seen that Griff could b injured omfg it's like you can see it happening but can't believe it πŸ˜₯πŸ˜₯πŸ˜₯ Mon the hoops need a talking cry here am still hiding under the couch πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚hh.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Imagine this had all happened under RD?}

26 Jul 2017 22:50:47
ED can we sign a striker for next week?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - No.}

26 Jul 2017 22:52:40
We were static tonight. It felt like a friendly. No charging runs from mf. The subs should of been made at half time. Rodgers looked a bit edgey 70mis on. Don't know what he said to big tam at ft but he didn't like it.
The bad part done above.
We controlled the game and with a bit of magic we will go through. If grif is fit in he goes but 2 of the mf need punted for the away leg. The hair and the forrest need cleared for reasons both of ability and concentration.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jul 2017 23:15:22
OMG bond imagine that happening under RD. no thanks bro thought the dire days were behind us onwards and upwards troops hail hail the Celts are here 😊😊😊.

27 Jul 2017 04:57:10
I know some of the worshippers, after that display, are already getting nostalgic for Ronnie's days, when we could have had Ronnie playing players out of position every week, just so he could do his squad rotation, but anyway that was the good old days, last night I think Brendan went wrong by not keeping the team and formation the same, that had been playing well, and just promoting one of the young strikers from the development team, I mean what's the worst that could have went wrong?, he made the same mistake that England and Man U, used to make when always playing Beckham, or Rooney, i. e. of playing your best players but not playing your best team, if you follow my drift, .

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jul 2017 21:51:03
Poor tonight needed a goal take over there at least clean sheet only positive.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

26 Jul 2017 22:04:05
Was working away and managed to get back and see the game, wish a hadn't bothered! That was absolutely woeful tonite! The only positive from the whole nite was they didn't score! Rogic running about like a headless chicken and Sinclair was anonymous! When your bringing johnny Hayes on to play upfront there's something seriously wrong! And for me Armstrong doesn't look interested anymore! I know they'r well into there season and there sharpness and fitness was always going to be better than ours, but I was shocked at how poor we were tonite! We could still be playing and not scored! I was going to rant about Forrest but he's not even worth the stress levels, total impostor of a footballer!

Agree1 Disagree2

26 Jul 2017 22:08:13
How long is Dembelle out for?

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - Reports say September mate.}

Forrest was awful god knows how he lasted as long all he does is cut inside he's ment to be a winger.

26 Jul 2017 22:28:29
Mally the guy is an utter waste of space! I usually sit in Lisbon lion upper but got a seat in Main stand tonite few rows from front and I witnessed him close up. the guy is awful! Worse than a man down honestly!

Agree2 Disagree2

{Ed007's Note - I've been saying it for years and took pelters over it, he's never been good enough to play for Celtic.}

26 Jul 2017 22:42:05

26 Jul 2017 22:42:42
Totally agree ED! Never been a fan of guy And never will! Just amazes me that he somehow manages to convince our managers that he's worth a place in the squad never mind the team!

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jul 2017 22:52:31
What gets me is he has pace but will just not use it he cuts inside so he's not really beating his man big lustig does more on the wing and he's a rb.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jul 2017 21:50:56
Wasn't a good result, but it was by no means the worst. We could have been going there chasing a couple of goal deficit, but for poor finishing by Rosenberg.

Let's put it into perspective, they are half way through their season and have a jump on us with match fitness. We are rusty and without a recognised striker. We will beat them over there with LG back up front. I think it is unfair to blame him for tonight's result. His ban was a joke.

I do agree though that it is unacceptable for a club at our level, and with our ambition, not to have a adequate cover. We can't keep persisting with this risky policy of signings late in the window, especially with 3 qualifiers to negotiate.

Believable3 Unbelievable2

26 Jul 2017 22:04:22
Can't blame Griff: rather blame the board for not challenging the ridiculous ban, and for closing down parts of their own stadium. For all the lip-service done to the fans, and for all the guff about keeping it about football, this was a real handicap in a crucial qualifier.

I don't like the fitness / early season angle and it'll be a nervy game in rainy Norway. For what? a lack of real planning for a known likelihood.

Agree0 Disagree1

26 Jul 2017 22:06:48
Totally agree about lack of cover. There must even be an experienced striker out of contract who could do a job as cover. The Griffiths ban is ridiculous, you can break someones leg and you'll get a 1 match ban IF you get sent off. But griffiths gets 2 for doing very little. It was stupid, but the punishment is laughable. Uefa obviously don't like us after we've been fined 12 times but continually offend, so we're harshly treated.

I'm not too disheartened about the result. They need to open up a bit next week so we will have more chances.

Agree1 Disagree1

27 Jul 2017 08:57:02
All our hopes that real money would be spent to cover the gaps my cat could see needed plugging adding at least one playmaker have again crashed in true Celtic fashion.

It has already been said, if they hadn't been rubbish in front of goal we were losing three nil. We got out of jail and we can only hope the shame of that utterly impotent display fires them up to step up to the plate.

I actually thought we had left these days behind. More fool me. If Forrest gets another game for us I will need to get a Valium prescription. He's a total imposter.

Times up James, bring back paddy! Use the VVD money add another Β£5m and buy him Lawell. Forrest and Hayes not good enough. Nowhere near good enough.

Totally effin ragin at that display.

The blind no 9 turned out just that. Back to the drawing board BR.

I still think we can do it but that might just be my insanity talking.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jul 2017 21:42:45
Guys sitting with my pint before I leave the ground and I think we will really need to pull it out the bag in order to progress over in Norway. The team couldn't get going tonight and up front is not worth talking about. We are actually underdogs in the next game, we didn't trouble rosenborg at all! Poor poor display, things can only get better.

Believable2 Unbelievable3

26 Jul 2017 22:04:23
We were very lucky to get through last year . I think rosenburg would've put us out at this stage last year and without a bit of luck and a great away display which we historically can't do will probably put us out next week.

26 Jul 2017 20:43:32
Rodgers please bin that weak pile pish Forrest and bring on Hayes. big tactical mistake. And play him upfront and let Regis and sinky drop into there natural positions, you can't expect to play all these players out of position and hope it clicks. Comes down to recruitment.

Believable4 Unbelievable1

26 Jul 2017 21:46:13
Bigmick. We have more problems than Forrest. Dembele is going. Hear what BR says but he is gone before window closes. We need to do it sooner than later so we can use money to buy a new striker. Griffiths stupidity put us st a dissadvantage but we could have plsyed Sinclair up front. No idea why we didn't do that. Need a big performance next week. We were lucky today. I am not hopeful.

Agree1 Disagree2

26 Jul 2017 22:26:13
Stop blaming LG, Youz where all loving it when he done it at Ipox. It's The Board and St Brendan's fault for not signing another striker sooner. Hail Hail.

Agree0 Disagree1

26 Jul 2017 21:47:02
Forrest is the scapegoat. sinclair couldve stayed at home for all he did Armstrong and rogic very poor ntcham done ok for about 5 / 10 mins then nothing. benyu not enough time but no better than McGregor . mgregor must feel very hard done by watching this Henderson also .

if we get through this and it's a big if I'd give Armstrong the ultimatum sign or go I'd sell moussa as we know its only time till he goes and invest in at least one more striker. we also need a playmaker I like rogic but he's not the most mobile / quickest and has no threat/ challenge in his position.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jul 2017 09:05:32
Forest I at the scapegoat. He us utterly push though and for how long can a man without a decent shot or final baw can get away with it for so long baffles and enrages me.

He wasn't alone but he was woeful. He flatters to deceive. Hayes isn't the answer either.

We had absolutely nothing in the last third. Zilch, it was like watching sevco fizzle out in the last third. And that's bad.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jul 2017 19:47:24
Lawwells final act was letting sevco on the board he walks they come in. Will give him a week but we no that they read our posts to get the reaction of the gullables that's not me it's the ones giving the thumbs down who are either young and don't no nothing how real Celtic fans felt in that era. Still hurting from then. Tax man got them and other clubs got hammered at that time for played ineligible players. STOP SAYING MOVE ON THIS DOES NIT IMPROVE THE SITUATION that's WEAK rant over HH.

Believable4 Unbelievable4

26 Jul 2017 18:56:31
How can we consider ourselves to be a big team in Europe when we find ourselves going into a crucial European game without a recognised striker. It just seems year on year we get to this stage but are still lacking in a number of positions.

Believable5 Unbelievable2

26 Jul 2017 19:56:05
The striker situation is very unfortunate - as is the loss of Roberts in attack, although we still have goals in the team. This untried defence is a wee worry for me and I hope Gordon doesn't have one of his nervy nights?

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jul 2017 20:13:27
Griffiths was out of order. Puts us in a difficult position. Just stupid. Hope we don't live to regret it.

Agree2 Disagree0

26 Jul 2017 20:50:27
Griffiths was irresponsible and the punishment OTT but big moussa has been injured far too often since the middle of last season and we should have brought in proper cover.

The real time live chat page is open for today's Celtic match at the below link for you to talk to each other during the match
Celtic Live Chat page

26 Jul 2017 16:29:05
Ed I was intending joining the live chat tonight but I'm a bit concerned as
(1) I think my t-shirt could be offensive to some

(2) my Celtic scarf is tied to a tree in my garden which I afraid could land me in bother with the authorities

(3) when I reheat the dinner the wife's leaving me after a couple of Guinness's. I could be in danger of inadvertently starting my own pyro-display accidentally! All things considered would you recommend in the current politically sensitive environment we appear to be living in, would you recommend;

(a) I join the live chat or

(b) just go to ma bed early. Thoughts appreciated Ed. Kind Regards. jfp ☘️.

Believable6 Unbelievable2

{Ed033's Note - (c) Your mission Jim, should you decide to accept it is to out do Project Veritas by getting Pedro to admit that Rangers will be a "Nothing Burger" this season and taking a picture of his Celtic tattoo.

26 Jul 2017 20:17:25
JFP what is wrong with you. Griffiths puts our progress at risk. BR has made his statement about political statements backing para military organisation inside the stadium. But you just ignore whatever you want. No matter the reprecussions it obviously does not matter to you. You would prefer to just write smart remarks. Welk done just whst we need.

Johny I'll post a previous post and await your apology.

Clear message from Brendan Rodgers to the Green Brigade tonight. 99% of the time you give us fantastic support but Ke ave the paramilitary stuff out. It's not what Celtic are about and it ls CERTAINLY not what I'm about! There are other platforms to express political opinions. Irrespective of our own political views that's the bottom line. Bring another 'Brendan at Work' banner to Celtic Park and potentially look for another manager. As I said I think he's principled enough to walk irrespective of my own or others political views it has to stop particularly where it involved him personally.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jul 2017 22:35:45
Why an apology. I am commenting on your post tonight. So looking st your previous post why post the nonesense you posted earlier? Do you think I keep a track of all your posts or maybe comment on what you have just written? So tell me why the change? You are so so funny. Really brilliant post. Well done. Should be on stage at the festival. Apology, don't think so.

Ed I subscribe every season started it years ago so I could watch the reseves/ development squad now we get a 3 minute highlight reel. Kept it going for the pre season games . but with decisions like this and the pitiful reserves coverage this could be my last time . I should imagine a few people feeling like this . a costly own goal by the club?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - They're too busy trying to stop people watching streams that they've forgotten the paying customers they already have. They need to make it more accessible to people as well, I'm not subscribing to something that you need to watch on your laptop, I want it on my big TV so why don't SKY/Virgin have it or even an app on the PS4 and X-Box?}

26 Jul 2017 18:05:48
There used to be an app I'm sure. Loads buy these android boxes if u don't know how to stream u could always go down the road of a mini pc under tv just as cheap. Drb get a vpn and there u go every game with your subscription.

On tonight's game. I think it's important not to concede a goal. It will be a bit of a risk playing Ajer at the back, due to his lack of experience in Europe. But needs must. You never know, he may play a blinder πŸ™πŸ™
If we can go over to Norway with a clean sheet then I fancy us to get through.
I'm still hoping on a 2-0 victory.
What's other people's predictions?

{Ed007's Note - Hhhhmmmm... Lustig from his time in Sweden, does that count? I'm pretty sure Jozo and Erik have played in European games too.}

26 Jul 2017 15:00:38
Ajer looks like a decent talent I'm confident he'll have a great game tonight. I also believe that Celtic will be clinical tonight. 3-0 or 4-0 Celtic win HH.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jul 2017 15:08:30
Ajer captained a side in Norway, I hardly think the bhoy is quaking in his boots at facing Rosenberg! The bhoy is going to be a quality player, trust Brendan he will know what f he's ready!

{Ed007's Note - He's obviously played against Rosenborg. For me this is an ideal time for the lad to make his debut.}

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jul 2017 16:05:48
I think everyone is underestimating Ajer a bit. Played a good amount of football in Sweden from a young age. What is it, over 50 appearances? Plus Roseborg are not the side they used to be. Hate to say it but I think Bendtner will be a problem, luckily he mucks up a lot of chances.

Got a feeling they'll score tonight. Clean sheets in Europe have been hard to come by for us in recent years. 3-1 Rogic first goal.

That's why I mean ed if the bhoy is good enough to captain against Rosenberg then he's good enough to play in amongst a much stronger starting 11.

{Ed007's Note - Definitely - and we'll find out soon enough.}

No fair minded supporter in Scotland expected any other outcome from the Mount Florida Mafia.
Cheating and lying has gone on for many years within the corridors of corruption that 'govern' Scottish football and any honest and decent fan of all other teams should be up in arms about the lack of integrity, honesty and transparency that defiles the national sport.
This is not just about unfair advantages, with tax evasion and registration anomalies; it's about the entire decision making and manipulation of forming a brand new club guising as a liquidated, defunct club with no credence or credibility as to financial records or registration.

Time to stand up against these teams that are bending over backward to ensure the blue pound continues to come threw their doors. Maybe starving them of the green pound will hurt just as much . An absolute shambles that they got away with it but to continue to have gotten away with it is unbelievable! !

Once a Bhoy was that Govern or Govan Scottish football? Lol.

I see SPFL have came out with a statement saying they can't legally punish Rangers No one I know says they want old Co punished or the tribute act what as I be leave is people want the tainted titles to be taken away Another sham and twisting of words from the SPFL things to keep them quiet its really scandalous It would just make some people wonder if the SPFL have something they want kept hidden if they did go ahead and in my opinion quite rightly take away the tainted titles.

Believable4 Unbelievable3

{Ed007's Note - People are too focused on the title stripping when the point of attack should be the overall governance of the Scottish game - done independently - since the original Rangers admitted to the DOS (wee tax case) which the LNS weren't allowed to look at. From there an examination of the Rangers 2011 Euro application, what Rangers withheld and what the SFA/SPFL knew at the time and ignored. And an explanation of why TRIFC didn't take Rangers place in Europe in 2012. I'm actually surprised no TRIFC supporter wants to know that, unless they're afraid of the answer of course.
If that's done the rest will fall into place, this is very far from over, Tony and will run for a good while yet.}

26 Jul 2017 12:24:51
I hope justice will be done in this case and ALL the people that were and are involved in this scandal will be dealt with legally.

Agree3 Disagree3

{Ed007's Note - There has to be justice done or the game in Scotland will never recover. This isn't about Celtic v TRIFC and don't let them make it that, this is about how the game in Scotland has been ran for years. The SFA and SPFL are just as guilty of breaking football rules as Rangers were, worse in fact because they were part of Rangers cheating for years.}

If we play false 9 then i expect the team to look more like 4-3-3

Gordon
Lustig, Jozo, Ajer, Tierney
Mcgregor, Brown, Armstrong
Forrest, Rogic, Sinclair

He might leave Ntcham out for this one.

If you use a VPN and sign up to Celtic TV only costs Β£14.99 ongoing monthly. You need to register an address from outside UK.

With Celtic refusing to sell to Norwegian tv it could be a struggle. Would try the usual VIP, dimsports, etc through sportsdevil but get your tranny at the ready. There's an app called ipvanish which hides where your ip address is streaming from and may help get celtic tv but think it costs a couple of quid a month and don't know if it's any good. Welshbhoy will likely know.

I pay Β£40 a year for Celtic tv as I can't get to the games. You don't get them live but they show the full game as if live from midnight. I just avoid everything I could here the score from until then.
