Yes this far fetched but ED when u say u think we may get sign two more players what’s the chance of one being that wow factor big game player signing?

Believable3 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - The chances are 50/50 - it'll either be a wow signing or it won't depending on your point of view. We could sign Ronaldo and there's fans that would moan he's too old.}

27 Jan 2020 10:58:21
Make a good impact sub maybe 😂.

27 Jan 2020 15:11:34
True @EDD Its getting worse from the usual sources.

I'd love to see Benkovic return. I've said it on here before. I think he is a class act and if fit would be the best centre back at the club.

I also get the point put across by other fans that they feel he is injury prone and would rather we pursue other options.

So my question to ed and fellow posters is this:

Would you take Benkovic back on loan IF there was an option to buy at the end of the season?

Time for him to prove his fitness. We would have 4 natural centre halves with Bitton and Elhamed able to play there if needed.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - No, unless he was only going to cost £3 - £5 million I'd rather we went out and found the next VVD or Ajer. Simunivic made more apps for us last season than the Leicester reject and Jozo's apparently a sick-note and the jury's still out on Elhamed and Bitton's fitness.
Why sign players and gamble on their long term fitness?}

27 Jan 2020 11:31:07
Ed your not allowed the opinion that benkovic is injury prone.
Didn't you know he's the next VVD and will play every game for us and be a class act?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I didn't get the memo mate lol.}

Granted my brain is posted missing at the moment due to a long night of partying.

I'm glad of the six point's from the last two games with the addition of a nice bonus courtesy of the jambo's.

However, I'm seriously worried about our defence although I'm not a tactician but doesn't seem to be any cohesiveness and although I know their has been injuries it still concerns me that when we get a few injuries the defence goes to rubbish.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

27 Jan 2020 00:39:34
Bolingoli, Hayes, Simunovic and Bitton are all not good enough IMO. Elhamed looks good but is injury prone. Ajer is still developing. Jullien and Frimpong are the only two that have really stood out for me. A LB and CB are needed over the next two windows.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jan 2020 06:33:04
big bubs. simunovic is solid and very consistent when he gets going. he just has his fair share of injurys.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jan 2020 09:27:27
My opinion UI that's he's never been solid. Far too inconsistent for me in both form and injuries.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jan 2020 11:32:22
Big bubs frimpong has looked good going forward but he looks suspect defensively.

26 Jan 2020 19:57:25
Sitting watching the highlights of our game from yesterday, dear god we were horrendous at the back! It’s actually getting embarrassing watchn Johnny Hayes now to be honest! Mind boggling that he gets a game in front of Taylor! He’s abysmal!

Believable4 Unbelievable0

26 Jan 2020 21:12:23
Because he is not a defender.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Jan 2020 21:39:39
Hayes gives 100% and does his best you can ask no more than that of a player.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2020 22:14:17
While I agree JFP, that should be a prerequisite for any player. I'd give 100%, doesn't mean I should be getting a game.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Jan 2020 22:15:00
Aye rite then JFP! U can ask no more than a player to give his best! What about asking for some actual quality on the ball or maybe pick out a team mate with a pass! It’s the Johnny Hayes gives 100 percent pish that does ma box in! The minimum is u give your all! But u need to be able to play a bit to! He’s gash!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Some people say the same about Scott Brown.}

27 Jan 2020 00:40:43
He's technically not good enough for Celtic even when played in his natural position. Aberdeen was his level.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2020 22:44:27
True ed 🤣.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - 😁

27 Jan 2020 13:07:20
Listening to radio on way home from game on Saturday and Gordon Dalziell summed up perfectly re J Hayes, he’s an Aberdeen player in a Celtic jersey.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jan 2020 13:36:31
I've seen very few players in my time that don't give 100% every game. Even it they are playing bad. Why does that always become a plus point. for poorer quality players?

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2020 19:07:58
Hi ED
Have you heard about any new players coming in, if not do you still believe we will bring in another couple of first team players.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I believe there will be another 2 players brought in before the window closes.}

26 Jan 2020 19:51:01
You reckon Soro + 1 or Soro + 2?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Soro + 2.}

26 Jan 2020 19:58:39
I would like us to sign cover for CB and a top quality LB. I know some others would like a LW as well but I am happy with Johnstone and Elyounoussi, although I won't complain if we bring a LW in as well.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I think Johnston would be better going out on loan to another SPL team next season.}

26 Jan 2020 20:45:12
Cheers ED
I agree with you about Johnston, I think he would be better going on loan just like Christie and wee McGregor.
I just don't think he is up to it right now in a Celtic shirt.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Johnston's a bit too lightweight for my liking so it's a question if he can bulk/toughen up.}

26 Jan 2020 21:07:20
I don't think he can or will bulk up to the extent of the likes of Christie or KT.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - That's the BIG question for me, Kev. Get him on the slimfast & chips program and see where the dice land.}

26 Jan 2020 21:49:22
Ed I look at his body shape and I just can't see him beefing right up. He doesn't have the wide shoulders that KT and christie had even before they got bigger.
Also his game is being a wee nippy fast winger would beefing up affect that?
Sure by now everyone knows I don't think he will ever amount to more than a bit part player and I've still not seen anything that shows me different.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I agree, Kev but I will be surprised if he is even a bit part player for us in the future.}

27 Jan 2020 00:42:59
Anyone can build strength and muscle with the right training. He's never going to be a tank but surely they can make him a more physical player?

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2020 18:18:17
Lenny, watch hearts, put into our next game two up front against sevco we should waltz it put the fight in them put the thunder in them and it's 9 in a row.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

26 Jan 2020 19:51:33
Rangers set up differently against us.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2020 20:10:58
Hearts did to rangers what rangers do to us, harried them and packed the midfield . simple.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2020 18:19:37
I know it is unlikely but would love our club to produce a big name signing on deadline day to get everyone buzzing and them crapping it.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

26 Jan 2020 17:50:51
We don't want injured players he is more out the game than in benejovik wanted to leave never stayed injury free don't need him can't play all week no use.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

26 Jan 2020 19:01:47
He never had a choice to stay to be fair.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2020 17:10:44
It's back in our own hands.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

26 Jan 2020 17:41:46
Rangers hate a high press, a bit like us. 3 away games now and Motherwell away looks the trickiest. There will be more points dropped from both sides up until the next old firm, just need to make sure we are the ones on top.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Jan 2020 17:49:25
Great result for Hearts, I just hope we don't arse this up.

Agree3 Disagree0

26 Jan 2020 18:09:46
We give them a brilliant Christmas present, then they throw it back in our faces before the end of January. Long may it continue.

Agree2 Disagree0

26 Jan 2020 18:11:34
It was never out of our hands but not going to deny that everytime they slip up, puts us one step closer to our second 9 in a row.

We just need to ignore what is happening outside our club and focus on winning each game, one at a time.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2020 18:15:57
That was an unexpected surprise, and fecking hilarious.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Jan 2020 18:33:43
@Lennonatwork, it was out of our hands momentarily. Had they won all their games they would win the league.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - It was never out of our hands even with their game in hand - what would have happened if both teams won all their remaining games but we won the remaining two derbies? We'd have won the league by 5 points.}

26 Jan 2020 19:16:23
Ed007 that’s my point mate, had they won all their games which includes derbies they would’ve won league. This unexpected Hearts result puts it all back in our own hands. I just pray Lennon learns from the last game against them.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - My point is it was never out of our hands, it would still have came down to what we done.}

26 Jan 2020 19:45:34
It has never been out of our own hands this season because all we have to do is win every single game from now until end of the season and if we do that, it will be mathematically impossible for anyone to stop us.

Obviously to do that, it means we would have to beat Rangers in both league meetings between us.

Yes its true Rangers had a slight advantage after beating us but that advantage has swung our way after today's results. Obviously both teams have it in their own hands at the moment.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2020 20:07:42
Two draws against them will do Lenny.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2020 14:21:17
On a larger scale Edouard could be a moveable asset in summer do we try replace
Now or when it’s too late?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

26 Jan 2020 16:04:47
Eddys replacement will be bought before he leaves just like eddy was brought in to be dembele's king term replacement.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2020 16:29:53
It's a hard pill to swallow, that all of our top stars will be moved-on (whether they really want to or not) - especially when they make such an impact wearing the Hoops and help build successful teams.
However, it's some comfort that we always seem to either produce or import so many good players and long may that continue.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2020 16:46:44
I would suggest eddy's replacement has already been signed in Klimala.

Agree3 Disagree0

26 Jan 2020 16:51:04
Celtic_mad can you tell me one top player that's been moved on against his wishes?

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Jan 2020 17:12:49
Royjac73 I would agree that he could well be eddys replacement but I think we need a big boy that can hold the ball up and bring others into play as well as scoring.
Think klimala is to similar to griff in my opinion.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2020 17:13:32

Think Kev's still laughing at the Sinky post Kwaj.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2020 19:06:10
Naw sinky was moved on against MY bloody wishes.
Samaras was done. No top player has been punted when he wants to stay.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2020 20:09:15
I bet a good few of them have regretted moving on though Kev eh.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Jan 2020 21:11:28
Would think the major one would be Hooper. Think ledley regretted trying to strong arm a better contract and realising to late that he should stay.
The rest not so much. VVD is best CB in the world right now.
Wanyama has played at the highest level.
Forster had a good ride till recently

That's football. Players come and go. Hoops are what stays and what we support.

26 Jan 2020 13:46:14
I was at the game yesterday and there's no doubt it was one of the poorest performances of the season. So with that being said I'm happy with the result if not much else. One thing that was noticeable and has been a common theme for a while now was the amount of crosses into the box, especially in the first half, from Hayes and Bauer. Every single one found the head of a Ross County defender. I would like to see us look at big physical striker who is good in the air. I'm pretty certain it won't happen in this window but we need a striker who will rough up centre halves and attack our crosses into the opposition box. It gives us a different option to the strikers we have just now.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

26 Jan 2020 16:40:40
What we need is somebody like big Ikpeazu of hearts but with skill.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2020 18:21:11
I will take those poor performances from now until the end of the season if we win 3-0 and put another 3 points on the board.

It is getting close to the business end of the season and 3 points are all that matter as far as I am concerned.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2020 10:46:25
Big week on the transfer market for us. I think we still need 3 in all on loan if necessary.
Experienced CB, Winger and Striker.
A CB that can push for a start maybe like Winston Reid
A Winger to push Forrest and a Striker that can play up front on his own in the absense of Edouard.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

26 Jan 2020 13:08:39
U can forget getting another striker.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2020 14:00:00
@aarbee13, maybe Klimala can play as a lone striker, we don't know yet.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2020 15:32:54
Glasgow. green I hope he is, he's definitely one for the future but with 9 at stake I'd prefer to bring in one for right now even on loan.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2020 10:00:25
Ed mind you said that it was reported that it was a four year deal Sinclair signed then suddenly it was a 3 with an option. Same thing going on with jozo. He said he's in last year yesterday and now they are reporting we have an option for another year.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - It's bizarre mate, I don't understand why they do that.}

26 Jan 2020 11:52:57
Rich T you love a good old transfer window mate eh.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2020 12:32:15
Ed would you sign him back up or let him walk or hobble away?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - That's a tough one, Kev. I like Simunovic and when he's fit he is more than capable and plays at a consistent level imo but his injury problems are a worry. If the surgery he's had on his knee has cleared up that problem then I'd get signed up, what about you?}

26 Jan 2020 13:20:38
Ideal situation for Simunovic maybe if he played him self into a good move. There was consistent interest in him when he was in the team. I do think he could be a smashing player if he could play consistently.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2020 13:43:22
Truth be told I'd let him walk. We keep hoping this season is the one he stays injury free but it never seems to happen.
We play around 60 game and he only ever makes around half or less.
How do you build a consistant defence if one of the players are breaking down regularly.
Thats also my worry with bringing benkovic back. He didn't even manage half the games last season I don't think.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Most of his injury problems are with the one knee though and if that's finally been sorted playing as a back-up CB for us should be no problem. He might only have played around 30 games a season but if you look back he's been on the bench and not used so he was fit.
Playing at Kilmarnock on the plastic pitch the other night can only be a good sign as well considering people have said he couldn't play on those surfaces.

26 Jan 2020 14:31:01
It's all ifs and buts with him, rogic and now it looks the same with el hammed, who you know I like, if we can keep them fit then I'd punt them.
What you think of the benko return?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I really don't see the point of bringing Benkovic back if it's only going to be for 4 months. He'll be looking for game time and I'd much rather Ajer & Jullien were allowed to develop their partnership than help a Leicester reject keep his match fitness/sharpness up.}

26 Jan 2020 14:38:24
Lets see that three games in a row. What’s his record.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2020 15:01:38
Even if we had an option to buy I'd steer clear. Nursing jozo and him would be pointless for me.

GED he played a fair few in a row at end of last season after lennon came in did he not?

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2020 17:03:06
I understand the reluctance to take Benkovic back when he’s had his injury problems, however when he’s fit I’d say he is better than any other defender we have at the moment. I don’t think it’s something we’ll need to worry about though, as even when he was fit NL didn’t seem to want to play him.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2020 17:29:57
If we are going to go with 3 at the back more often I’d happily see Benkovic return. Good defender.

I think Soro will be the last in the door at Celtic this January what do u think ED 007?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Right guys last week ahead we all have an opinion on what we need to strengthen the squad we know it’s hard to bring in this window so far nothing really has come in for the short term goal of securing the league what would secure league 9?

I might be in the minority here but I think if we have most our players fit to choose for we have more than enough to win the 9.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2020 17:06:15
Agreed kev, was talking about this last night and couldn't ser where needs desperately strengthened. Team needs to hit form and there's more than resources to win the league.

I didn't manage to see yesterday's game
But judging by reaction of some our
Fans it appears we weren't great.

Well guys I've got news for you theirs going to be
A lot of games like that between now
And may . The pressure is on us and
The other lot big time . It's about winning games and I think we have the edge mentally to keep going . As I've said at this point all that matters is the three points . Let's see how they get on today before we judge our performance yesterday .

Believable0 Unbelievable0

26 Jan 2020 11:23:23
proudcelt1,you need to watch the game then come back on mate. yes 3 points is the end goal but we need stability in order to get continuity. that yesterday was until eddy came on absolute crap. the mighty ross county cut us open at will. bauer was the only player plus the goalie who should get there wages, the rest were rank rotten. pick your best 11 every game pick a formation and stick with it. i think lenny is playing with his xbox on fifa 2020 to much. if we don't get our act together the tribute act will win the league. and before the "your a panty wetter brigade start"wake up and smell the coffee.

Agree3 Disagree0

26 Jan 2020 12:13:29
I think we should have enough next few games then we'll have our strongest side to pick from for the trickier ties. Can't wait for Moi and Christie to be back in the team.

26 Jan 2020 17:14:19
Well I think that result today made my point perfectly it’s all about putting points on the board.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2020 17:48:31
proudcelt1 mate, no one disputes putting points on the board is the most important thing, but we need to win our games and not hope the diddy club slip up. let's get continuity to our games and we will blow them all away hail hail mate.

I know Klimala has only been here 2 weeks, but surely 3 up at home he is good and fit enough to get a run out? With league being so tight surely any new signings should be ahead of MJ, LG and Dembele? He might be a great long term signing but it's the here and now that worries me.
