So with 5 days of the transfer window left. who would we all like to see come in and leave?

IN -
Henry Onyekuru
Number 10

OUT-
Permanent - Bailly, Ambrose, Bitton, Commons, GMS, Ciftci
LOAN - Henderson

I think with a few youth players added, this would be a very good squad to work with.

GK - Gordon, De Vries, Fasan
RB - Lustig, Gamboa
LB - Tierney, Izaguirre
CB - Sviatchenko, Simunovic, Boyata, Toure
CM - Brown, Armstrong, Eboue, McGregor
AM - Rogic, NEW
RLAM - Sinclair, Forrest, Roberts, Onyekuru
ST - Dembele, Griffiths

Obviously come the summer we will need to bring another few players in to replace Izaguirre, Toure, Roberts (unless they sign new deals, or we some how manage to keep Roberts) and another Striker.

What about using Gordon to help get Fabregas in for 18 month loan any possibility?

Rich. Do you mean the fabergas that's on 156k a week. baaahahahahaha.

Sorry couldn't resist. What a signing that would be tho

Just a thought he's not getting a game the now and I think that we are in CL next season again he mite want game time in paradise you can never say never haha

Ed if we decide to sell Gordon do you think Rodgers will bring another keeper in or go with what we have? I know he's not wanting to sell but 3 million plus would be hard to turn down especially with Gordon getting on a bit.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I don't think we'll sell Gordon. Adrian from West Ham could be a possible replacement, his agent has made it known to Celtic that he would be open to joining us.}

26 Jan 2017 17:28:45
Is Adrian any gd? Not seen a lot of his games or any pundits raving about him

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - I've not seen much of him myself.}

26 Jan 2017 17:34:45
There have been spells where he's looked fantastic. But he's too prone to 'moments', like Gordon. A good idea to think about is that Randolph (who I always thought looked a decent keeper) is keeping him out the side. Adrian wouldn't be much of a step up in my opinion.

Would love vorm to replace gordon

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2017 19:09:10
Vorm was a good keeper but has spent years sitting on a bench now tae.
I always question what drives a player willing to do that.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2017 18:44:45
Ed what about vorm from spurs? Wasn't BR looking for a #1 keeper earlier in season. I just can't believe we would turn down 5 mill to keep Gordon. He has been a bit better but still makes dumb mistakes and cost us in Europe.

I'm sure he has targets and could upgrade in nets for CL

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - We approached Spurs in the summer about Michel Vorm but they said he wasn't for sale and they then gave him a years contract extension in December taking his deal up to summer 2018.
Unless he requests a transfer Spurs are happy with him as their No.2.}

ED mate any idea when the magician Rogic is back? I think the boy is shear class and there's such a big miss when the lad does not play. Cheers buddy :)

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed007's Note - Rogic returned to training on Tuesday so he should be in contention for the weekend if everything goes to plan.}

Did Rodgers not say the other day he was about 2 weeks away

26 Jan 2017 21:31:24
I know Ed and many others don't agree but I'd be massively massively disappointed if we sell Gordon. I know he has his (kung fu) moments of madness (and can get beat at best post) but I still rate him big time as a shot stopper and a keeper. Apart from Boruc and Forster we've never had much better than Craig over the (many) years I've watched the Hoops 🍀

With Moussa Dembele touted for a Massive money move away in the summer I would love Celtic to move for Daniel Sturridge. Clearly not liked by the "Messiah Klopp" Rodgers will again get the best out of him. He has been well out of form but it's quite clear Him and Klopp don't like each other. A world class forward on his day and a player I feel Rodgers could get the best out of again.

Wages would be a massive issue. And although I don't know the guy personally - he seems incredibly full of himself and wouldn't dream of coming to scotland.

The boy sees himself as quite he player

Spends more time in the treatment room that the physio does.

Agree2 Disagree2

26 Jan 2017 12:47:02
wages would scupper it mate, even if we did have a bid accepted, which would be 20+ . If we spent that money on a player id give sturridge a wide berth tbh, fantastic player but spends more time on sidelines thru injury than anything else.

Agree1 Disagree1

26 Jan 2017 12:47:05
Michael, there is no chance whatsoever of Celtic getting Sturridge, Liverpool will want 20m+ for him easy and the boy thinks he's a superstar so I doubt he will come if it was up to him and as everyone knows he's the most injury prone player in the premier league

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Jan 2017 13:32:37
Daniel Sturridge is done, guy has been an embarrassment to Liverpool this year, when he plays Liverpool are poor even Carragher said it's like playing with 10 men

Suarez made him look better than he was and it's now showing.

He'll end up at Hull or some mediocre club at that level

A think we need a bit of a reality check here, we're getting a bit carried away. Any player we get from England will either be a young boy like dembele or someone like sinclair that has something to prove. A don't think sturridge falls into either.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Painter and decorator booked, Steph - the wife's delighted it's getting done and I'm delighted with the price. Thanks again mate, HH.}

Feelgood factor at Celtic Park is off the hook! On a Class A level. Realistic or not, love the spirit!

Typical Gordon blaming others and shouting at them for his OWN mistakes that get him in to trouble and makes himself look dumb!

It's official Chelsea fancy the big man preparing a bid

26 Jan 2017 10:19:03
another booking for gordon, he must be close to a suspension?

Agree2 Disagree0

26 Jan 2017 12:24:15
You don't equal a record set by the Lisbon Lions if you don't have a decent GK in goal. Considering we got Gordon for free he has been very good for Celtic. If it is true that Chelsea are preparing a bid then I hope Celtic have a GK lined up as it's a very hard position to fill.

Agree4 Disagree0

26 Jan 2017 12:27:45
The way the team have been playing this season he has not had very much to do in domestic games and although he can pull off some really good saves at times - he is prone to erratic decisions, bad positioning and panic and has had some real howlers in big games over the years.
he is at the end of his career and 'won a watch' when Celtic came in for him when he was a forgotten man and hopefully this will be his final fling before we bring in a younger, better goalkeeper.

Agree3 Disagree4

26 Jan 2017 15:59:57
Chelsea are looking at three new keepers according to sky sports Gordon must be the cheapest option for them sell there number 2 keeper for 10m plus then bring in Gordon for buttons makes sense for them but could we use this to bring in someone who's not playing for them as much I. e Fabbregas (bad spelling) on loan for 18 months or so?

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2017 16:19:29
I for one wouldn't bat an eyelid If Gordon left for Chelsea! Was at the game last nite and twice he done the same thing in the space of 15 min! Ball played back to him on his 6 yard line and twice he made a mess of it! Yes I admit the goalie passing from the back is part of modern day football but this guy just can't do it, and attempts it at the most stupid times!

And when Brendan said he was as good with the ball at his feet as most outfield players I had to have a chuckle! Bring in a young hungry keeper for the start of next season, someone like big boruc! Unheard of at the time but a young hungry confident goalie who turned out to be outstanding! There must be some out there who wouldn't cost the earth

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Jan 2017 21:12:34
LH86 - if begovic goes to Bournemouth and Gordon to Chelsea why not take boruc back till we find another one haha

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jan 2017 00:02:39
A was about to make a fresh post about boruc but thought I'd scroll down and see if anyone mentioned him. Me n ma mates have been talking about him the nite, it's 50/50 wae us who wants him back and who doesn't.

i would have him back in a heartbeat. He's 36 so would still have a couple of seasons left in him till we find a replacement, av not seen much of him since he left cos a don't really watch any other fitba other than celtic or European games.

But unless he's piled on the pounds he must still have it. Add to that the memories of his crazy antics and his great saves, a would drive down n get him maself, but a fear the car would get ditched n a wouldn't be seen for days. Come home the holy goalie.
