Use our rumours form to send us celtic transfer rumours.

I see Cassano has been released by Parma. Was good enough to be in the Italy world cup squad in Brazil and in my humble opinion would be a player to bring back the fans if we had the balls to sign him.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Would be great as our CAM/CF however I reckon he'll be on some wage.

Agree0 Disagree1

Players with any decent reputation don't wind down their careers in scotland anymore, we don't even look like letting our own players wind their careers down with us.

Agree0 Disagree1

@1 No transfer fee to pay though so maybe the wages are possible!

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - he doesn't train well and has a real attitude problem. He makes Balotelli look like a workhorse.}

Think you're right jim sadly. However we will never know unless we actually try. Its a double edged sword in a way. If we were regular competitors in the CL then wed have a chance of good deals (?) for players like this, but we won't be CL regulars without players like this. I'd like us to oush the boat out a bit and bring in 3-4 quality players, on Bosmans, who would walk in the side and add pedigree and experience to each department. The best of our already young squad can make up the numbers. Anybody over 26/7 who hasn't done much should be sent to the first or only bidder. Cut some losses and rebuild.

Agree0 Disagree1

Nice insite Ed001. Still more quality than any attacking player we have though.

Agree0 Disagree0

"Players like this. "?

Cassano has been on the decline for years now. Getting into a (very poor) Italy squad LAST SUMMER isn't reason enough to sign someone. Neither is his past playing career: who he played for etc. He barely trains, has (by all accounts) a terrible attitude and is, as I say, nowhere near the player he once was. That's saying nothing of his recent health issues.

If he was that good Parma, who are facing the drop, would have kept him in order to bolster their chances of staying up.

Terrible idea - and we need to get away from this "oh look, someone has freed INSERT. He was once at INSERT. Maybe he'd bring back the fans. Or maybe he'd be the difference. Or INSERT any other ridiculous statement."

I'd rather GMS than Cassano - any day of the week.

Standard Liege: Re Steven Defour: Banner
I know we have / had our rivalry with rangers but this mob must be hammered by UEFA.

The banner they displayed is beyond belief.
I cannot believe for 1 second that the club, did not act swiftly to remove it or the gate staff did not see it going in.

disgrace, absolute disgrace.

Believable3 Unbelievable2

26 Jan 2015 21:14:12
Thanks for putting it in , I did not know if it would pass the clearance.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - (yes)

Totally disagree mate, nothing wrong with the banner it means if you don't play for them you are dead to them, exactly how I felt ( feel) about Judas when he signed for them . The banner was not going to hurt him, he acted totally out of order and should face a long ban, the ball he kicked at the crowed could have seriously hurt a child or anyone.

Agree2 Disagree1

26 Jan 2015 22:30:05
Quality banner that is! He knew what to expect when he signed for there big rivals! And your rite fab, exactly the way we felt and still do feel about judas! Great piece of workmanship by the standard fans :D

Agree2 Disagree1

Not really acceptable in this day and age. Especially when there are so many innocent people being executed in this manner. Each to his own opinion and I have a sick sense of humour but I find this one in bad taste

Agree3 Disagree6

Totally disagree with above posts saying this is a disgrace. This was about his defection and was CLEARLY a reference to Friday 13th/Jason Voorhees.

This is no different to our very own Zombie banner - and much like said banner, it's easy to say it's in bad taste and relate it to some tragic world event whilst ultimately ignoring the real intent behind it.

Classic case of hypocritical Celtic fans.

Agree2 Disagree1

I think broonie will definitely pick up a card unless rd puts a muzzle on him and slips a valium in his water bottle

Agree0 Disagree1

Who would've knew Jason Voorhees was a Liege fan

What are UEFA going to do? As far as I am aware they only have jurisdiction in European competitions and this was a domestic game.

Folks, I hope the two Johns take time to sit down with Ronnie and stress the importance of keeping cool and totally focused. Don't get caught up in anything, drive it home to the players, don't get involved. Stay onside, play fast and direct, put the ball in the net at every opportunity. Don't give the Ref any opportunity to book you. Your top level of fitness will be invaluable. Make the most of it. Make history.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

I don't think we have to worry about Ronny, I think he will be his usual self. The players, if we play the way we have been, will be ok as sevco really will not see much of the ball. I expect a lump up to millar with aird and shiels trying to support.

Agree2 Disagree0

27 Jan 2015 02:54:30
Will be like a training match anyway they will play the high ball when they actually get the ball and without just sit and and try and unsettle and wind up brown

Agree0 Disagree3

I think Broonie is my concern. He gets so passionate and this will be his chance to rub a few faces in it. Just hope he stays on the park because they will have a go at him.

Right guys back to football. Our next game will no doubt be the biggest of the season for us in many respects.Lose it and all hell will break loose, win it and it will be expected. We not played them in . well never lol. So how do you think they will approach it as we know how we will play. Will they just defend and hope to hit on the break? Or will the try to match us? My feeling is our pace and tempo will blow them away esp on a big pitch. My only worry is our strikers are misfiring and can only hope they sort it this weekend.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed007's Note - Get your money on McCulloch to get sent off.}

That is my only worry ed, we get caught up in something and get a man sent off.

Agree0 Disagree0

They are not good enough to beat us, end off. They have attacked Hibs n Hearts and got hammered.

All we need is that early goal, this could be the day when they all go in.

Agree1 Disagree0

I just hope we want it. I hope the current team know exactly how they will be spoken of if they turn up expecting to win - and don't.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2015 19:16:42
Ed: what ever do you mean. lol

Remember they have not kicked a ball in 3 weeks and although that`s a break, I would rather have game to be match fit.
every player will want to play.

4-1 (as I said before)

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks for the tip ED probably a cert, I might be tempted to double it with two goals for Griffiths

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - We all know he's not the most stable-minded member of the diddy team and he'll be sitting stewing all week. I expect Scott Brown to be on top form with him..}

I expect game to be the dirtiest game in scotland this season. Realistically game will be that mobs biggest attendance this season and i'm confident we will run amock and see plenty of vicious tackles from them. 3-0 Johansen score first

Agree1 Disagree0

If it ain't Jig with the elbow trick it WILL be Iain Black for sure! No way will he handle it

Get your money on a first half sending off cover your bet IMO

Probably Black or Simonsen have it on all readies :-)

They ain't coming to play that's for sure with about NINE of them out of contract, no manager or structure its got a hatchet job written all over it! IMO

Agree1 Disagree0

McCulloch gets away with his constant use of the elbow just hope its dealt with! The have no pace up front Miller or Boyd won't outrun Denayer or VVD so we can press them up the park. If we are gubbing them they will try injure a few and get sent off. Mohsni is my shout to be off then McCulloch

Agree1 Disagree0

VVD needs to be on his game been really slack recently needs to stand out in this one if he really wants people to sit up and take him on in the summer when I think he will leave for pastures new.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Playing against a team from the SPFL Championship, I doubt it. Surely the Inter Milan games will give anyone watching VvD a better idea of how he plays at a higher level than the SPFL Premiership?

26 Jan 2015 17:29:25
Great news that supposedly there's only around 100 tickets left for the europa league match. i'm hoping we see a good performance that will get folk interested in the team again and start turning up on a Saturday

Believable1 Unbelievable2

26 Jan 2015 17:22:09
I know I may get stick for this but having closely watched Commons the last couple of games I whole heartedly hope he goes. In my eyes he provides nothing to the team. He can't hold the ball up (lost the ball nearly every time he got it on Saturday), he can't find an effective pass and he just doesn't have the legs.

During Saturdays game Ross counties counter attacks must have been close to 70% down to Commons losing the ball then standing staring into space. He had a few shots that just weren't appropriate and should have had his head up for the pass.

Now I'm not saying it's purely down to him, but for those saying we need to be more clinical. How can our strikers get a look in when this guys taking anywhere from 5 to 20 shots a game and missing the majority of them.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

I will be totally honest and say he is nowhere near the player of last season and the hype and contract speculation is becoming a distraction before the game on Sunday.
There is no doubt he is one of our better players (on his day) but he was out of the team for a long time and is not as sharp as last season.
He was never the fastest or fittest player but last season he was lethal in front of goal and we don't have any strikers on top form this term.

Agree0 Disagree0

The point is he is the only 1 taking shots. Don't ever moan again when we sell 1 of our better players then if you happy to let our best player go.

Agree0 Disagree1

God the guy scored the winning goal on saturday

Agree0 Disagree0

Regardless of anyones views on commons, I just don't want to see another player go unless a suitable replacement is brought in.

At 31 he has reached his peak and isn't going to get any better, but I would rather have a player in team who you know is not shy to find back of the net.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wud you have kicked out Lubo at that age?

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - Hahahahaha! That's a good one, Ray. I wonder what Mrs Lubo would have had to say about you comparing her man to Commons.}

Agree with OP, he was our best player last year and this year he has been poor.

But what I will say is, in the last 4 games he has started we have won and not even conceded a goal. He has that ability to create but too often shoots and should be more of a team player.

Club is right to offer 1 yr plus a review after games played as do all clubs nowadays.

Agree1 Disagree0

Ed I not saying he in Lubo class, but in the context of KC the only play maker we have and good for a goal and only 1 who can do something different, that's what lubo did but in a better team.

Agree0 Disagree0

Kev

I have said that before. Getting offered 1 year doesn't mean he won't stay for another 2 or even 3 years as others may be offered.

interesting reading comments attributed to Lennon earlier where he states "kris gets Celtic". That is what has been lacking a lot with us with the likes of Hooper and VVD who want to jump ship at the first opportunity.

Agree0 Disagree0

He needs to learn to keep his shots down at least bring out a save from the keeper rather than skying it into row Z

Agree0 Disagree0

@Bravetart, there is barely a game he plays in where he doesn't make the keeper produce a good save or score. wish we could say that about the rest.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jan 2015 10:58:54
Yeah no wonder because he shoots constantly . never looks to play anyone in. Him and young Mcgregor constantly shoot from any angle. Time for commons to go I think. He has been Rank rotten all season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree Rayman people need to learn to have a pop now and then but Commons does go overboard with it.I like him and he does produce some good goals but his chances to goals ratio must be very poor

I see our favourite rag is displaying shock and outrage at the silly little piece placed by a bunch of numpties supposedly representing Celtic fans. You can remove me from that one (the grouping not the fact I'm a Celtic fan). It also questions the paper concerned as showing responsibility in publishing the ad. (bet the editor was peed off as they had not chosen his we Daily Ranger rag. Anyway, the paper was so upset at possible incitement that it chose to give people a chance to agree or disagree with the sentiments of the article. Talk about pot, kettle and black. If these papers would stop giving the publicity to all these nutters (beheadings, bombers, adverts etc.) then they would soon fade away. Anyway, sticking with football, I really am dreading the game against them as I don't see football being the winner. Maybe on the pitch but off. Please keep the heid.

Believable2 Unbelievable23

Don't think it'll fade away when some of our fans are paying a few grand for full page adverts which in their head was to shame the media (and also give them a wee bit of fame)

Agree2 Disagree3

True Mrs E. Sad state of affairs but there you go.

Agree2 Disagree15

26 Jan 2015 11:42:13
Mrs E I thought this was an interesting article.

http://www.onfieldsofgreen.com/a-little-bit-of-history/

If the media did it's job properly then there would have been no need for the supporters to do this.

Agree4 Disagree1

Henrik I’ll read it later but you might want to consider where the advert is placed and who took money for it – the Scottish Media

The same Scottish Media who in the same paper on the same day used the term Old Firm. I cannot see this advert being anything other than embarrassing no matter what way I try to look at it and today’s event have only added to this.

The advert is a Scottish journalism dream not only did they get money for it, they also have a least a weeks worth of stories from it.

Folk now saying they have ASA onside, the same ASA that sided with Rangers over their Rangers now, then, forever?

Wake up, they’ve paid a couple of grand to play right into the dreaded and hated Scottish Media's hands.

Agree1 Disagree3

If that ad was designed to dampen down tensions then you can all start calling me St.JimTim.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jan 2015 13:26:28
Mrs e have you given up slagging the team now we have won a few games and the media have calmed down the rd witch hunt ( don't worry it will be back with our first defeat) . Now you have turned your attention to the fans, they have every right to be pissed of by the cover up in the media and the rewrite of history that is going on , I know I certainly am . All it takes is for people to ignore a lie for it to become the truth. The TRUTH is rangers died along with their history and honour's, that is what happens when a company or team is liquidated. Tell me this what is to stop all other teams spending 100s of millons of pounds of borrowed money , then washing their hands of the debt and reinventing them self with the same name and history?

Agree8 Disagree2

I seem to have had my opinion on this matter blocked for one reason or another? Has any other regular had their opinion rejected (press agree).
If indeed, this post gets printed?

{Ed007's Note - You've lost me, Jimbo......

26 Jan 2015 01:57:58
Had to post this! Just read a bit from the daily mail about the ad took out in yesterday's paper! All the old Rangers 'legends' are not happy about sevco being called a new club! De boer konterman even that diddy big Eck is havin his say! Lol.but an absolute classic from one of the finest players Ever to grace our game Alex rae() sayin that its Shockin putting out an ad like that and it's askin for trouble! Then he says sevco would never do anythin like that because they no how to act with dignity!!! A think this clown must be back on the drink by the way! DIGNITY and sevco don't belong in the same sentence! This is going to make the spankin we're going to hand out to that mob all the sweeter! We'll see how dignified they are after we destroy them! Hail hail!

Believable8 Unbelievable0

Airdrie became Airdrie United, Wimbledon became MK Dons and i'm sure there are a few other teams who went to the wall and had to rename why does that mob think they are different?

If they don't get promoted this season, there's a very good chance they will go to the wall. If that does happen, surely in interests of fair play the SFA will close book on them for good.

Dont like commenting on that mob, but its been annoying me recently lol
