Guys, i do not think we will announce anything until Dominic Makay is in place. That will be HIS first big announcement.

26 Feb 2021 21:13:49
I don't think it's a decision that should be rushed👍.

26 Feb 2021 21:35:59
Something needs to be in place well before we are playing euro qualifiers.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Feb 2021 04:30:34
To be honest looking at teams we could get due to seeding in next year's qualifiers we've no chance. All about winning title next year and hopefully straight into champions league group stages if Sevco get some more co-officient points this season. But not to many one more round hopefully will be enough.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Feb 2021 06:16:29
Next season for me is about getting the foundations right stabilise our team get our playing identity back start to get confidence up again and as that happening winning and wining well will bring back titles.

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Feb 2021 08:39:51
Dominic McKay does not take up his position until July 1st, so you're looking at around four wasted months of limbo with CL qualifiers on the horizon. I would hope we would be addressing the football side much sooner than that if we are to take-stock, repair and prepare.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Feb 2021 09:31:59
doesn't matter when Dominic McKay's official start date is he will be involved with the decisions just now.

I see McManus has been temporarily promoted from the development squad to assist Kennedy and this had me asking myself a question.
I know that many will say that when a manager goes then the entire backroom should go with him. If that were the case then Kennedy and Strachan must just be keeping the seats warm until the season's over.
Here's my question: Does McManus fall into the category of 'must gos'? Or is he sufficiently well thought of that he may stay?
Who else behind the scenes is a 'must go' and who is a 'must stay'? HH.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

26 Feb 2021 15:12:09
When a manager is sacked its usually just him and his assistant and not the youth academy coaches.
The club also announced that Lennon resigned not sacked, in these circumstances its usually the incoming manager/ head coach who decides gets kept on from the previous regime.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Feb 2021 15:40:54
Strachan must go and Kennedy can stay as long as he steps back from first team and focus on youth development. If he is not prepared to do that, then he must go as well.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Feb 2021 16:40:31
Rodgers kept Kennedy but a posted a few weeks back that mick could get promoted odea is there also but the new guy is going to want his own backroom staff.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Feb 2021 17:03:19
Kennedy's contract doesn't expire until 2075 so the chances are he'll be around a while.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Feb 2021 17:38:17
We'll soon see if Kennedy should go!

26 Feb 2021 17:44:36
Whit? Another 54 years of John Kennedy; his nose will cover the Jock Stein Stand by then, Pedro!

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Feb 2021 18:19:39
OAB he was asked his thoughts on picking the team abd he said he’d think about it after he’d picked his nose. Expect team news at the Fare.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Feb 2021 18:59:15
Just saw Alex Rae on the news just now. Why does he have to mention Celtic. He looks like what one of them looks like. He is a twisted H- -. He is worse than Fatty Boyd. 🍀🍀🍀🍀.

26 Feb 2021 19:17:31
Hahahaha, . Ralf could rock up as the new D. O. F. with Cocu as Manager and a whole coaching staff in tow and JK will be standing at Lennoxtown waiting to give them the guided tour.

26 Feb 2021 19:18:34
Boruc, he's a wee ferret faced rat.

Interesting comments from David Moyes. His contract with West Ham expires in June but it includes a clause that he can automatically extend the contract if they finish above 13th in the league. Its up to him whether or not he triggers the clause.

Could we have possibly sounded him out about taking over at the end of the season?

I'd be happy with Moyes, I just wonder if he would consider us as apparently he believed the job was his prior to Lennon being given the job in the showers after the Scottish Cup final.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

26 Feb 2021 14:24:38
I wanted Moyes ahead of Lennon. I remeber after i left Hampden when we won the Scottish cup i went to Graces pub and had few good debates with a lot of fellow supporters who were all telling me i was mad for wanting Moyes ahead of Lennon.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Feb 2021 14:48:41
He doesn’t sound interested to me reading his comments.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Moyes will be at West Ham next season.}

26 Feb 2021 15:41:33
Hope moyes is at West Ham next season.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Feb 2021 15:42:14
Agree with Ed, Moyes was only considering coming to us to try and get his foot back in the door but now he has a foot in at West Ham, we won't be high on his priority list.

Are we expecting any changes from John Kennedy tomorrow. Any thoughts, will he change the style of play and formation or will he stick with the way Lennon played.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

26 Feb 2021 14:04:42
Think he has too change things otherwise we will see that he is simply not ready for management.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Feb 2021 15:35:23
He will definitely change something whether it's for the good has to be seen but he will have to show he is his own man. I just hope he won't get the job full time. If I had a say in the new manager it would be some one without any ties to the club and some one with his own views as to how football should be played.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Feb 2021 15:42:46
I predict 4-2-3-1 with plenty of side and back passing, with little penetration.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Feb 2021 11:16:24
Might be out our price range but liked the look of that Abdellah Sima for Slavia. Only 19 and could be a good replacement for Eddy. West Ham are meant to be keen on him though. 19 goals and 5 assists in 28 appearances this season.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

26 Feb 2021 12:45:41
I said yesterday bravetart, I quite like the look of his gaffer as well. He's just papped Mr Rodgers out of Europe which has sealed the deal for me lol.

Agree2 Disagree0

26 Feb 2021 15:43:28
@Kevbhoy - to be fair it is not hard to pap a Rodgers team out of Europe.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Feb 2021 15:57:49
Jindrich Trpisovsky has a top record and has yet to make a move outside his home country, we could be very appealing to him and i think he would be a top appointment he's drawing comparisons with Klop.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Feb 2021 16:14:23
Get the Slavia manager in then he can persuade Sima to come. Win win Kevbhoy 😏.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Feb 2021 19:31:20
I've actually done a little bit of digging and it would appear a major stumbling block would be that Trpisovsky speaks little-to-no English. The reason I fancy him, or someone like him, is that he's proven he can do well in Europe while still dominating domestically and on a much smaller budget than our own.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Feb 2021 20:08:57
There are plenty of managers out there that would improve us without breaking the bank financially. We rule most out going down the "Celtic man" route when we would be better getting the best man we can find that's available that will come to the club.

Agree2 Disagree0

26 Feb 2021 10:50:04
Three reasons why not named manager
1 have no clue who?
2 manager still in a job
3 kenndy on trail for job?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

26 Feb 2021 11:46:09
Option 4 - we are moving to a DoF model and want to appoint the DoF first - which makes absolute sense!

Agree3 Disagree0

26 Feb 2021 13:51:02
Makes me think it won't be any of the names linked who are currently out of a job as surely we would have them in by now.

Most likely waiting on DoF or waiting on manager ending their current season.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Feb 2021 15:44:11
Knowing Celtic it will be option 3. God helps us.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Feb 2021 08:13:58
If howe is the man we want then get him in now, it's serves no purpose wasting time, he's available and he'd have now and the end of season to assess the squad and see what he needs,

Believable1 Unbelievable0

26 Feb 2021 08:26:45
Howe has done nothing to merit the job.

Agree2 Disagree0

26 Feb 2021 08:45:50
Nonsense malky.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Feb 2021 08:52:27
If Howe is such a great manager (and has been for a while) available?
Surely a Championship Club or an EPL club would have had him in by now?

Agree3 Disagree0

26 Feb 2021 09:05:24
Malky what had Rogers or Lennon (the first time) done before they got the Celtic job?

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Feb 2021 09:29:02
I think DD will already be in discussions with the new manager. Hopefully he gets a DOF in place asap.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Feb 2021 09:39:18
I would also like a permanent appointment to be made ASAP. Hobbling on with Kennedy at the helm does nothing for me; While across the water, (as used to always be the case) , our pain and failure motivates and drives them on. We need to give ourselves plenty time to prepare for next season and show a huge statement of intent.
Otherwise we are scrambling about in the summer chasing shadows.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Feb 2021 09:59:16
Rodgers had took Liverpool to within a whisker of the title, the closest they had been in years. Lennon done nothing first or second time to merit being anywhere near the club. Unless you've been living under a rock I've made my feelings on Lennon over the years pretty clear. What has Howe done to merit the job?

Agree4 Disagree0

26 Feb 2021 09:59:17
i don't want howe. one of the eds says on here a few weeks back he can't set up a defence and defence is a big problem for us just now. we need DD step in and make the big appointment like he did with MON after they had just win the league and with BR after the semi defeat next manager needs to be big to push us on in Europe and continue our dominance. those two big appointments were made after there gloating and that's what needs to happen just now.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Feb 2021 10:12:14
He got 3 promotions with a tiny club in Bournemouth, and competed with the money laden big guns in the pub league while selling his best players, no he's done nothing, he reminds me a bit of Rodgers the way his teams play and how he handles the press, very intelligent and drama Free. But that's my opinion for what it's worth.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Feb 2021 10:14:23
Tiny how do you know he's not had countless offers and didn't fancy them. Rodgers was the same he said he had offers but was waiting on something big.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Feb 2021 10:18:04
How do you know he hasn't already been sounded out to take over somewhere in the summer TinyTim?

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Feb 2021 10:26:08
difference with rodgers and lennon compared to howe they had been at massive clubs were every game is a must win and know the pressure of it and could handle the pressure of it. Howe might do well if he got the job we never know but id rather we pushed the boat out.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Feb 2021 11:00:24
If Howe had been up here, how would he have done at Alloa or Hamilton?,

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Feb 2021 11:24:05
Howe has been runner up in league 2, league 1 and won probably the most competitive league in the world. Kept them in the prem for 5 seasons before failing on the 6th year. Builds him teams full of exciting young players and plays attacking football. What had Rodgers won before he came to Celtic? In terms of what we are looking for he fits the profile Malky whether it's a realistic option is another matter.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Feb 2021 11:51:16
You have to realise everyone that the managers mentioned above might NOT WANT to come to Celtic. All your doing is throwing up names. Clarke has gone on record saying he doesn't want to manage an old firm club. Why? Because of thd abuse.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Feb 2021 12:13:00
How do you stay in the pub league for 5 seasons if you can't set up a defence.?

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Feb 2021 12:15:47
He done well in lower leagues and managed to avoid relegation until he was finally relegated lol, he should've been playing attractive football with the prices they could pay for players!

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Feb 2021 12:42:13
I am not saying we need to panic for next season but I think we need to get the DoF in really soon IF that is the direction we are going so we can get the new manager in soon also so as was said he can look at the squad before the end of the season and get things starting to move for the full campaign next season There is a lot of work to be done to get the club working the way it should be and the longer the board take to make those appointments the less organized we will be for the next campaign.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Feb 2021 13:53:37
Mally Howe has done better as a manager than rodgers had done when he got the liverpool job.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Feb 2021 14:28:56
Spot on kev, a would take him reminds me a lot of Rodgers his teams and his calm manner. but hey ho time will tell.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Feb 2021 16:23:51
Agree Mally like Rodgers he seems to have a composure about him which is infectious on players. That composure would be tested in the goldfish bowl mind. For a small club a 9th and 12th place is good going. And they didn't go down without a fight they pumped Leicester and Man City near the end of the season, We've seen little fight from our own players.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Feb 2021 19:33:05
For anyone to suggest that Howe has done nothing to merit becoming Celtic manager is just crazy, I think Howe is a perfect fit for us. I would just like to say also not everyone is motivated by money so perhaps the kind of job he would like hasn't become available.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Feb 2021 06:29:01
See KT calling out Kennedy and calling him a "hero". Did he put anything out when Lenny walked?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

26 Feb 2021 08:00:15
Will need to have a look for the modern definition of a hero .

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Feb 2021 08:18:37
I always thought his move had as much to do with his thoughts on the the manager as much as it was to 'better his career'.
I reckon there are a few of the current squad that are not shedding any tears at the situation either. Players make or break managers.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Feb 2021 09:03:37
Players make or break our hearts. Disgusted with the effort they have put in this season. Every single one of them should be punted. Pathetic they get away unscathed while taking millions for the privilege.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Feb 2021 10:05:38
Auf that’s an over simplification the club is culpable at every level.

In terms of procurement we were out-bought not by value but in terms of quality and value for money which is ultimately what counts.

From a managerial perspective we were out-thought in the dugout and we’ve now taken the first step to resolve that.

And as you state on the park we were out-fought.

All three aspects of the collective failure need addressed.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Feb 2021 11:27:43
What Celtic players have came out on socials and wished Lennon well since his departure?

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Feb 2021 11:58:48
The players won’t be able to move if they’re under Kennedy’s nose.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Feb 2021 11:59:14
AUF. everyone at the club is to blame. Complacency has definitely set in. Everyone thought 10IAR was a certainty. We've been caught with our pants down. Rangers are determined and motivated and hungry. We are not.

Agree2 Disagree0

26 Feb 2021 13:01:47
Aussie Ray it’s fair to say everyone thought 10 in a row was a certainty, even if we were at our best we wouldn’t have been allowed to win the league. My reason for saying that, is look across the city everything has been going their way three breaches of C.V. rules no action other than bans for two bit players, last night being a classic example. On 3/ 4 occasions this season no red cards for their players for shocking tackles and the ridiculous amount of penalties awarded to them. Celtic, Aberdeen heavily fined for breaking the same C.V. rules and slaughtered in parliament, other teams had to forfeit games for rule breaking only to win their case on appeal. I just wish someone with the b***s would raise these issues the evidence is there if needed.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Feb 2021 13:02:47
All this 10 in a row labelling folk as failures does my head in. Was The cardigan labeld as the man that lost 10 in a row? Was the greatest Celtic manager that ever lived labels as losing 10 in a row?

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Feb 2021 13:12:33
Agree there has been complacency at every level but players not putting a shift in is criminal. At least in the 90s the players cared and put a shift in. Bunch of over hyped over paid mercenaries. Would have everyone of them up for sale. Disgrace the effort they put in.

26 Feb 2021 13:13:41

26 Feb 2021 13:17:03
Oldkilly. At the end of the day Celtic are in charge of their own destiny. We dropped points. Players not motivated. Redgers had the team playing out their skin. Also Lennon changed the playing style from Rodgrrs. WHY on earth would you change a winning Rodgets formula. VERH BAD MISTAKE.

The race is really hotting up now between Scotland and Ukraine for 11th place in the Association club Coefficient.
Whoever finishes in 11th place, they will get an automatic Champions League group stage place for the 2022/ 23 season.

So if Scotland finish in 11th place, the Champions of the Scottish Premiership next season will automatically qualify for the CL group stages in 2022/ 23.
After tonight's results I'm sure Scotland are still slightly ahead by 0.025 points.
Clubs get 2 points for a win but it gets divided by how many clubs represented that country in Europe this season.

So Sevco tonight had their 2 coefficient points for a win, divided by 4 (Scottish clubs in Europe) which becomes 0.5 coefficient points added to Scotland's total.
Ukraine now have 2 clubs who've qualified for the last 16 due to Shakhter Donetsk and Dynamo Kiev both winning tonight.
Ukraine had 5 clubs representing them in Europe this season, so each victory is divided by 5.

Each victory tonight would be 0.4 coefficient points for each win.
Before tonight Scotland were ahead by 0.325.
Add the Sevco victory of 0.5 points, it then becomes a lead of 0.825 points.
But with both Ukraine's clubs winning tonight they got a combined 0.8 points.
Although Scotland have a very slight 0.025 point advantage going into the last 16,
Ukraine will have two clubs representing them to only one club representing Scotland in the last 16 of the Europa League.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

26 Feb 2021 02:26:26
It would be a laugh if sevco got to the quarter finals and both Ukrainians got kod and when we win the league next season the automatic spot will be ours. Cool stats Buzz but it was that long I got half way through it and started picturing Vorderman and Rachel Reily in the scud teaching me arithmetic😂.
