I despise cheats and there was plenty about tonight. Was that the illegitimate love child of Hugh Dallas or what and the Inter players in the cheats face brandashing invisible cards to get Big Virgil sent off was stomach churning stuff.

Armstrong and GMS will do really well at our club, Biton really flourishing but he needs to work on winning the 50/50 ball and lose that few seconds of indecision.

We are a far cry from the embarrassing performances that typified our CL exit.

One negative, I think James Forrest should never wear a celtic Jersey again, lacks work ethic and is no where as good as he believes he is.

Keep the faith bhoys and ghirls, Rome was not built in a day

Believable2 Unbelievable1

27 Feb 2015 07:34:46
Forrest was not to blame last night as he was being asked to play the lone strikers role. That was the only mistake Deila made as he should have brought commons on instead. Deila thought pace was needed but it turned out we needed someone to hold the ball up. Judge Forrest when he is played in position.

Agree0 Disagree1

27 Feb 2015 08:37:54
Forrest is a bit low on confidence just now I think but I certainly wouldn't get rid. Ronny is a fan of wingers and we've seen how difficult it's been to replace players like Hooper etc with the lure of bigger wages down South. Let's see how he progresses under Ronny.

Agree1 Disagree1

28 Feb 2015 00:12:25
I think that it is time to nip in the bud immediately this idea that Bitton doesn't make 50/50 balls .

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Feb 2015 23:27:28
Well done bhoys, can't say any more.
We got beat by a wonder goal that would have ended any Euro tie.
No complaints, let's look to Sunday, we've got a much bigger game. Onwards and upwards, MTH!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

26 Feb 2015 22:04:38
You would, nt have known we were playing with 10 men. Full of hope for rest of season. Treble here we come

Believable0 Unbelievable0

26 Feb 2015 22:25:09
I think the only thing Ronny did tonight was bring on forest not a patch on GMS done nothing and I mean nothing proud of the team only looks good for the future bring on Aberdeen on Sunday put them in their place and win his league

Agree1 Disagree1

26 Feb 2015 23:01:53
Was thinkin the same thing! The only complaint apart from the ref!! Was bringin Forrest on to play up front! That baffled me! Forrest has done nothing for months and he puts him on and takes Guiddeti off when we need a goal! Why not put stokes on? But I can't complain to much! The Bhoys ran there selfs into the ground and couldn't have done more when we went down to 10 men! Proud of the effort and bodes well for the future! getting back to ref now,guy was a total disgrace! Van Djik 2 fouls to cards! shockin! Johanssen elbowed in the face in front of the ref by the guy who scored the goal! Yellow card! Total disgrace! Actually embarrassing!

Agree1 Disagree1

26 Feb 2015 23:11:30
All 3 subs were wrong! Thought the ref was a bit shit all round with a stone wall penalty and a man sent of its a completely different game! But we held our own!

Agree0 Disagree1

27 Feb 2015 07:40:13
I disagree, GMs for ambrose was the right choice and Armstrong for commons was the right choice. The only one he got wrong was guidetti for Forrest, I reckon Deila thought we needed pace but Forrest was not suited to the role.

Agree1 Disagree0

28 Feb 2015 00:21:07
Yes Ambrose had to come on for Virgil who was both unlucky and stupid in his sending off.
GMS was a natural choice for coming off to allow Ambrose on .
I agree with Deila putting Forrest on, but it didn't work out . Forrest was hoping for the right ball behind the defence and when it didn't come Forrest was left very idle . I don't know if he was instructed to cover back or not. Commons replacing Armstrong was to my mind perfect timed and the right substitution . Celtic's midfield moved up ield to help in the quest of a goal and the game got a bit loser . Unfortunately Inter got a goal scored by a player who should previously been sent off.

26 Feb 2015 20:40:26
Just thinking how I felt after the Legia game to where we are now after a few short months, well done Celtic and Ronny!

Not going to pour over the game, it's in the past now. Onwards and hopefully upwards :-)

Believable3 Unbelievable0

We will be even stronger next season without Van Dijk in defence.

26 Feb 2015 21:11:36
Two relatively innocuous tackles, two bookings = 1 Red, uphill all the way after that. Fitness stood us in good stead, I just wish we'd had the chance to show what we can do 11 versus 11. Mrs E - Treble on with hope in your heart:)

Agree1 Disagree1

26 Feb 2015 21:20:24
I won't lose sleep if VVD goes, good player and all that but thinks he Virgil big pants.

There Ambrose done just fine tonight and against tougher opposition than we have in Scotland.

Agree4 Disagree1

See there was more flares let off during the game. Do these people have any brains. Won't be happy till were playing behind closed doors!

Agree3 Disagree0

26 Feb 2015 22:34:03
VVD thinks he is such a good player that he deserves better than Celtic. What he needs to do is buckle down and play as well as he can. If he is that good clubs will come calling. All the nonsense about Arsenal, Man U etc wanting him got £10mill is paper talk or agent talk. If we can get the suggested £8 to 10 mill for him take it. He is a good player who I would love to see committed to Celtic, but he has a lot of work to do if he is to progress to EPL level. Having said that, well done to the Bhoys tonight. Come on Vigil, Europe is a big step up from the SPL so
Vigil, you must do better. Tonight's Referee however must do much much better.

Agree1 Disagree1

There was a lot more to talk about than a flair or two.
Virgil unlucky but clumsy and should after getting the first soft yellow made sure he wasn't going to get another . Ambrose showed he can defend as well as any . Bitton again showed his progress . Ref. Looked after Italians better than the Scots . The goal scorer should have been red carded before he scored . Forrest needs to improve, and I am not sure about Guidetti.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Feb 2015 23:12:44
Far too harsh on VVD he's one of our best players

Agree0 Disagree1

01 Mar 2015 00:37:49
Doesn't matter if a player is our best player or not, he is as good as his last game .
Just as Gordon had played well in many games, he made two blunders in Parkhead which probably put us out of the Europa League . Virgil had a game to forget in Milan, he didn't do an much to warrant the first yellow, but surely to Christ been on a yellow card he shouldn't have given the referee another chance to wave the card . I can certainly see why he got the second yellow .

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Feb 2015 20:17:08
Hard watching. Obviously VVD's sending off scuppered the game plan, which until then seemed sound. It was the weakest sending off I've seen recently in European competition.

As to the referee: immature and inexperienced. He gave a foul against us every time he could (one exception bellow).

A couple of things to be honest about tho: Guidetti's diving did is no favours, and he did cut us a bit of slack on a comparable incident to Armstrong's. That just shows he's taking the game into his own hands in my view.

Shame the European Season ends just as we became ready for it, but as others have noticed, we'll kick on from here.

Don't think we need Guidetti

Believable4 Unbelievable0

28 Feb 2015 00:32:00
I cannot remember Armstrong diving, he was interfered with from behind both by a push on the shoulder and a coming together on the hip.
If a referee could deem to card Virgil for the first instance, I cannot see how he couldn't give a penalty to Celtic . Unless he had another agenda .
Guidetti did get a bit of a knock but I think he made something of it, but I think the referee had to either give him a yellow card for the meal he made of it, or a penalty.
I cannot understand why he didn't yellow card him, as he seemed keen to yellow card every Celtic player .

Rocket of a strike to win it for inter. Got to say proud of the team tonight especially playing with 10 for so long. Hopefully they will be up for it again on Sunday to play at a high tempo and finally put Aberdeen and the rest on their place. Treble is still on, let's go get it!

Hail hail

Believable3 Unbelievable0

I was proud of the team tonight, they can hold their heads high.
I hope Peter Lawwell will let Ronny keep the bulk of his team, and hopefully add to it, we are making progress.
One small gripe, I see there were still flares being let off. Do these people realise the damage they are doing to Celtic's reputation. If they don't start wising up, we'll end up playing a match behind closed doors, is that what they want?

Agree1 Disagree2

Do flares do damage to a club's reputation? really? & the beautiful banners?

This is just the corporate line that we are forced to take. & the fines are small gravy. Let us stand up and be the proud club that we are and never mind the traffic cops.

Agree1 Disagree3

Regarding the flares, why don't those in that area point the finger at those setting them off.you are correct Gerry c closed doors is on the horizon shame on those responsible.killy.

Agree1 Disagree0

Why do you say that you hope Peter Lawwell allows Deila to keep most of the squad .
I don't think Lawwell can do much if a player and his agent insists on a move . Deila and Lawwell may on some occasions be able to get a player to delay his desire to depart until the next window or so, but once a player insists on going there isn't much can be done . Over the last 4/5 yrs all the better players only left because they insisted .

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Feb 2015 20:00:51
Lots more plusses tonight than negatives . Ronny definitely has us playing at a high tempo which will cause most teams problems . Very proud, I hate losing but I have a really good sense we are really going places and Ronny has to take credit for that . My only concern is why he substituted Mackay Stevens then 20 mins later puts on Forrest . Mackay Stevens was causing them all sorts of problems . I rate Forest but gms looks a far better player. Maybe should have sacrificed guidetti . Harsh sending off, never a booking the first one but second one vvd had to go. Don't mind players pointing out players should be carded, I've done it myself whilst playing . It's like appealing for a pen. Any advantage take it . All in all though looking good although we will need a defensive rebuild in the summer . Vvd away and denayer most likely too

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Didn't really see the high tempo until the first part of the second half. Sort of wish we brought it earlier - but I can see the wisdom in keeping it low key till the end. Well played Ronny, I'd say, and unlucky Bhoys!

As someone said, to take GMS off only for forrest to come seemed to be an error forced by the urgency of the situation. Live and learn.

Agree1 Disagree0

In all away European games I've seen with celtic in the past ten years mate this was the highest I've ever saw us up the park .
It's not normally enjoyable watching celtic away, I enjoyed the way we tried to play
It looked like we went to win. Don't be fooled by people saying inter are poor. They maybe not the force they were but both besiktas and foirentina join them in the last 16 beating 2 teams who apparently 3 weeks ago played one of the best games the english premier has seen this season . Point being celtic had possibly the toughest game off the lot and with a bit of luck may have pulled it off. Until the sending off it was good to watch, never felt that way after a European game . Even after sending off we looked decent . All down to higher tempo were playing

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Feb 2015 07:48:52
Did some of you actually watch the game. Della did not take GMS off for Forrest. Taking GMS off for Ambrose was the correct choice as he offers the least defensively.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Feb 2015 20:20:51
I think your missing the point mate . Why take off our most effective player then 20 mins after put a player on in a role where gms could have played with probably greater effect

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Feb 2015 06:38:21
I already explained why gms was subbed. When you go down to 10 men away from home in Europe you are going to have to defend. As gms offers the least defensively he was the obvious choice to make way for Ambrose. The only mistake deila made was putting Forrest up front on his own as he is not suited to play that role.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Mar 2015 01:46:34
again you've missed the point . I can't help you if you can't see it .

Terrific performances from everyone on that park tonight and we've got our dignity back on the European stage.

Five years ago Inter were the champions of Europe and we had Tony Mowbray as manager.

Look how far they've fell and how far we've risen!

The players and management will have learned plenty form the europa this season and I think we'll be far better off this summer going for the Champions League.

Back to deomesti business now and getting this treble in the bag.

Hope your next shites a hedghog referee, first one is never a booking.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

There would have been a horses heid in his bed last night and a good few grand in his bank book tomorrow.
This has been going on for generations (especially in Italy) and as we are 'minnows' in the UEFA food chain it will always be.
Referee apart - we did OK for spells although I think taking off GMS was a mistake as we could have spared Bitton or Armstrong from our posse of midfielders. Bitton was caught in possession too many times and the game plan went to pot with the red card.
Guidetti must cut out this diving about as it's embarrassing and he needs to grow up a wee bit.
Forrest is a poser and should never have been put on before Commons and Gordon made up for his melt down in the first leg, but that's what probably lost the tie anyway.

Agree2 Disagree0

Pretty much spot on jj, but I personally would have taken off Johansen.

Agree0 Disagree2

Thank God Johanson was left on. Always willing to run with the ball and should have gained us a big advantage when he raced past the future goal scorer only to be stopped by a vicious elbow. A most definite red card which could have turned the game back towards us.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Feb 2015 18:55:45
Poorest Referee a have seen in ages folks!

Easily swayed by the Italian's over VVD!

Missed a stone wall penalty, even a SOFT penalty with Guidetti, and that corner they missed ok it was only a corner but FFS! shocking officialdom "meek" does not cover it IMO!

Were the better team till VVD ending off! pretty raging typical Italian opponent push, shove, cheat!

Believable4 Unbelievable0

What a disgrace I thought the days of homer refs were over, the guy who scored goal should have not been on the park, for the forearm smash on johanson.

Agree2 Disagree0

26 Feb 2015 18:52:58
These Honest mistake merchants sure get about!
Armstrong's was a definite penalty and every time Inter get a free kick - it's get another wan free!
After refusing us an obvious corner the move leads to the VVD foul - and the imaginary card waving Inter guy and the wee whistling wally could not wait to send him off.
To be honest Van Dijk was very foolish to make the challenge and must have known the risk so he needs a kick up the jacksy as well.
Apart from that we are doing OK but that will be a huge turning point against us and I am certain this dodgy official is not finished there.
GMS has been our sharpest attacking player and has been hooked because of the sending off and although we are holding our own, I am worried that we will struggle to get the goal we need.
I am just a wee bit worried about Izzy and Broony who look out of sorts, but the sense of injustice might spur the team on to get an amazing result?
Whatever happens, at least we kept a clean sheet for the first half and I wasn't expecting that.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Ref was a complete joke and was booking ever Celtic player after a tackle. VVD ifrst tackle was never a yellow and there was not much in the second. Its hard enough to play against teams that are operating budget wise in another world without coming up against a lame coward of a ref!

Agree2 Disagree0

26 Feb 2015 16:18:44
I think Celtic victory today would be a excellent thing but a defeat by a small or big margin would not be the end of the world neither
I think Celtic in Europa league this season has been more beneficial to the team than champions league which teams we would of got the players wouldn't of learnt anything from.
Sometimes you have to walk before you can run.
Aberdeen game is of most importance but that won't sell out people forget that the title is the ticket to champions league and bread & butter of the club if Celtic were to be filling the stands that would generate the money to enhance the squad fully but instead want champions league glory first

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It's good to know that our under 20 year old side won today by 5 nil .
A good start to the evening .

Agree1 Disagree0

Better Celtic teams and managers have not been able to win in Italy, so I have more hope than expectation.
That is no bad thing preparing to watch this game as I feel calm and hope the players are the same.
We must not let them score as early or as easily as the home leg, but we can't afford to be nervous or fearful or the games a bogey!
Whatever the result we need to come back full of confidence, ready to defeat the mutton molesters.

Statement from Celtic FC
CELTIC have been fined 10,000 euros by UEFA following the Europa League away tie against Dinamo Zagreb in December.

UEFA's Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body announced the fine today.

A club spokesperson said: "Clearly everyone is extremely disappointed that the behaviour of only a handful of people and in particular the use of flares, have led to a further fine from UEFA.

"We have repeatedly called for the use of flares to stop. We cannot and will not allow the safety of our supporters or the reputation of our great club to be compromised by the actions of a tiny minority.

"It is time those responsible understand the damage this does to the club they claim to support."

As for me please stop those people if you can damaging our club

@Tony2Bhoy yes I agree these idiots and their flares and their banners are causing us no end of problems, the galling thing is that it is about 20-30 of these idiots bringing shame on Celtic FC and what it also does is allow the biased Scottish media to lump us together with the dark side fans. That is what annoys me our clowns are numbered in tens while theirs are numbered in thousands but it does not matter to the media who always are quick with the "whataboutery" ie look at Celtic fans to deflect away from the poison at Ibrox.

Ed001 I seen last night the poll from the other day was about Social Media being to aggressive on football players.

I have been using twitter everyday for a year or so now but gave it up this week. I honestly can't say I miss it for the football. I'm keeping my account because I use it for other stuff as well but what a year lol

Some folk treat the team they support like a real live version of Football Manager obviously with themselves as the Manager! Win, lose or draw is an irrelevance to them now, it's went way beyond that.

Are some to aggressive, definitely. Whilst we all have an opinion, players wouldn't be at the Celtic or English Premiership level if they were complete crap.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - I have an account for the sites, but I rarely use it as some of the things I see on there make me sick. One look on there is enough to see why we have to edit the posts on these sites, as people just can't be trusted to police themselves! You can imagine the kinds of posts we have to delete each day just by looking on there. I really don't get the attraction of it.}

26 Feb 2015 08:34:28
And that should just be about respect and common decency.

Some folk definitely think they're invisible online and can say what they want.

What gets me is, I'm born and brought up in Glasgow like many Celtic and Rangers fans. Some online stuff would have you believe we don't mix, maybe same as Liverpool and Everton.

We all live together and actually get on (shock)

Some posts are pure venom and nothing to do with being a football fan

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - it is bizarre, why do people think they are safe being as nasty as they can be online, when they wouldn't even consider doing that offline?}

26 Feb 2015 08:43:25
It can actually take the enjoyment out of being a fan which is ridiculous!

I think we know why the biggest majority hide behind a keyboard.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - it really does ruin it for me, which is why I avoid 'social' media, as it is completely antisocial for me. It does make me wonder if the best thing to do with offenders would be to make their online life public to all, so they can no longer hide....}

When a trolling keyboard warrior is exposed, they usually tend to be geeky wimps who wouldn't say boo to a goose. This type of poisonous vitriol can cause great upset to people on the receiving end. The problem with Tw@tter and Mugbook is there is no mediation you get on the rumours sites. On these sites you can get your point across with a reasoned debate with no fear of it resulting into petty name calling and/or derogatory remarks.
Personally I always keep my social interaction to a level where I would have no problem stating my point face to face with another person across a pub table.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mrs e I hear what you say but leaving the site let's them win it is easy to block people who offend you
I would carry on as the good people will dissapear and let the fools win

Agree1 Disagree0

There are Celtic fans on social media that are some of the worst cretins to walk the earth. We've got total brammers like Paul the Tim and that horrible Jake the Snake then we get to Phil and his lickspittle Haggerty.

Phil only started following Celtic when Neil Lennon started getting sectarian abuse, he's a fake and he's a w***er, I've got no time for people like that. I can just imagine the tweets Phil and the Hag were private messaging Collymore?

I hope someone gave Stan a nod about them.

What about the losers who tweet players and their wives and as if they know them personally.

Every single one of them there are more of an embarrasment to the club than any song.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - If I was married to Commons' wife I wouldn't let her on the internet, even if she had finished the housework.}

I agree there is too much venom .
However despite the over the top hatred for the team from Govan, I am annoyed by the hatred against Celtic players and sometimes in the past the Manager .
What is posted about Ambrose is not right .

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Feb 2015 20:45:41
That Phil is an out and out bigot, everything he states he dislikes and his sidekick is the same.

They used to embarrass me just because they were Celtic 'fans' but they are actually nothing to do with me and I class them the same as groups like the Vanguard Bears. Just leave them to it.

Agree1 Disagree0

Phil has been a good source of information of what happened down Govan way . He has also told us what was going to happen .
He has accurately informed us in a way that there should be no need to.
However the Main Stream Sottish Media avoided informing us about anything . If it wasn't for Phil we would be in the dark. Would that be in our interest or not?

26 Feb 2015 02:17:13
What does people think the team should be tonight? After seeing last weeks game i'd stick with same 11 but with Commons in the frame. There was space for him in that game but it would be harsh to drop GMS. Should we start with GMS let him tire the defense then bring on Commons or start with Commons and bring on GMS when Inter tire as they looked there for the taking in the 2nd half?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

BT I would go with Gordon, Mathews Denayer Van Dijk Izaguirre, Mackay-Steven Johansen Brown Biton Armstrong, Guidetti. 2 Inter players moaning about tiredness whereas Johansen has come out and said the players are getting fitter with each game so for me i'd like to see Griffiths come on for the last 25 and really stretch their defence, Also take on Commons & Wakaso in the later stages and really go for it, All this based on us still being in the tie after an hour of course, Which I expect us to be.
