Am I deluded or not bhoys? I'm taking absolute pelters on twitter because I said the league is still in our own hands. The Sevconians are out in force sticking it to me. One in particular just told me I'm off my head cause the bookies have them as firm favourites. Then when I called that nonsense his reply was "let's make a bet my 4 bedroom semi detached against your caravan" he's now upset that I called him s bigot. What's your honest opinions are we deluded has the league gone?

Jaw it’s presently still in our own hands.
Unlike last season when they were 13 points behind with only one game in hand.
And with only 2 Derby games available, they basically needed snookers.
If Celtic lose or draw next week we will also need help from the other teams in the league.
But if Celtic win next week it’s back to being game on.

Jaw has the league gone? Has it feck. There is a lot of football to be played yet. It’s not over until it’s over. If you give a flying feck what the H**s or the MSSM think I can offer counselling at a very reasonable rate. Free. All donations to Ed’s foodbank or Mary’s Meals. Goodnight and God bless. Keep the Faith. ☘️.

We looked more like it today all be it the opposition wasn't great but you could see fluency and rhythm and pairing the griff with eddy is a must. best eddy has been this season.

Lose at Ibrox its over. Take a draw get the games in hand won then see if they can cope with the pressure in the final stretch.

Is that where we're at guys? It isn't even the new year and we're talking about the mathematics of the season? It hurts me to say it but it's about time some people got real. We're toast this season and 10iar is an unrealistic dream. It's all our own fault. HH.

I'm with u bestybhoy, the 10 is almost certainly gone. We frittered our transfer budget on players who don't make us a better team, just make us a bigger squad - Barkas, Ajeti, Duffy, Klimala, Laxalt etc. Money should have been spent on one or two quality additions like Toney. Never say never but they don't look like they will implode.

Even with our own prolonged 'self-harming' period, we have actually done something more than they have - and that's put a trophy in the cabinet already. However, what they have managed is to accumulate an unexpectedly high tally of points in an uninterrupted unbeaten run.
Circumstances have definitely contrived to complicate the campaign, whether it be CV related, or postponed games and I still believe the establishment influence is evident one way or another every week.
The task ahead is gargantuan and whereas they can afford a slip or two, we have probably got to win every game and although we have a few looking more like their old selves this past week, we still need a marked improvement and a return to the consistency of last January.

27 Dec 2020 10:36:42
Our recruitment gas been awful nearly 14 mill on barkas klimala and ajeti and none goìd enough. our 2 loans have been average and we are playing a kid in goals. saying that if we beat utd and sevco then we might jystvretrirve this but it's big if.

Agree2 Disagree0

27 Dec 2020 12:50:18
I 100% believe we can win this title. It is in our own hands jfp1888 I'd take his house off him It's going to take one bad game and they will feel pressure like never before I thought they looked vulnerable anytime hibs attacked which wasn't near offer enough. There is nothing to fear I say we go all out attack see where gets us. Even a draw not end of world. If win games in hand which we now look like doing it's 7 points 2 draws 1 defeat it's covered we to play them for 9 How fans can concede on here is totally beyond my comprehension.

27 Dec 2020 13:27:55
Remember a wee guy called Petrov? I recall everyone writing him off as he did not hit the ground running. If we had got rid of him after a season we would not to have had the pleasure of watching him develop into a top player.

I thought our recruitment was good in the summer as we bought internationals for the areas we needed to strengthen. Yes they have not been on top form but neither has the team. Let's get behind them and give them our support. That being said I would like to see elhamed gone in January and a RB brought in and a CB who can organise defence and defend set pieces. Would also love to see Forster back for 6 months.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Dec 2020 13:58:43
It's a big ask for the players to go on a long undefeated run and given our form this season makes it even more unlikely. If we can get all 6 points from the next 2 games, and the board have a little ambition and spend the right amount on what is required then the league isn't a foregone conclusion. They are 16 points ahead with us having 3 games in hand if you win those 3 games and the next old firm that will give us a 4 point gap.

I believe that if we achieve that and recruit well in January then 4 point is nothing to be over concerned with 2 old firms and plenty of games left in the league.

Mentally the media has set them up for an implosion talks of 19 point leads when the team in 2nd has 4 games in hand is ridiculous, the media wants Stevie G (ex England Captain, Liverpool captain-EPL) to look a tactical genius that can achieve the impossible on a "shoe string budget". His rangers trophy cabinet shows this is not the case. If the league becomes a gap of 4 points, fans begin returning to the stadium, Celtic recruit well the pressure on the serial bottlers will be like never before. I genuinely don't believe they would have the nerve to cope.

However as horrible as this sounds this coming week is a league decider. This Will be our last role of the dice. Our last chance at being able to really turn this round.

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Dec 2020 15:04:42
How is the league in our own hands we are 16pts behind we have 3 games in hand and 2 against sevco which makes 15pts plus there goal difference is far superior to ours so its in their hands not ours all we can do is win all our games and keep the pressure on and see if they collapse.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Dec 2020 16:04:29
Marco 88. We still to play them 3 times. 9 points win 3 in hand. We two in front. So that is in our own hands.

Agree2 Disagree0

27 Dec 2020 20:42:16
Oh yeah I forgot that I thought we had to play only two more times my apologises but its still in their hands they don't look like losing at all at the moment.

Think we've cracked it with this diamond. Now I'm no master at geometry but when we play them we can start with the diamond then change to a rhombus, or a parallelogram or even a square. Hey sub griff for broony and we got a Pentagon.

If we play with a diamond at Ipox they will destroy us.
They have beat us everytime they have bullied us in midfield.
I would play a 4-3-1-2 against them and play both Brown and Soro.

My team would be:- Hazard
Ajer Jullien Bitton Laxalt
Soro Brown McGregor
Turnbull
Edouard Griffith.

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Dec 2020 10:38:03
Broony played at CP and was woeful. We put him in its saying we fear you and we don't think we can beat you. We play the same team as yesterday and for once, take the barstewards on. Soro must start, Broony no.

Agree2 Disagree0

27 Dec 2020 15:07:20
We need to attack sevco from the off get in their faces and keep a high tempo in the game that's how we beat them. Play soro he won't give them a minutes piece.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Dec 2020 17:40:52
I said in pre-match post Celtic need to play two up front from the start today not Eddy on his lonesome-he's never a lone striker-and Sutton is well qualified to make the comment that Eddy needs Griffiths to light his candle. I think it might have been Ed that made the point he's nearer a number 10. Anybody that watches the pass from Eddy to Griffiths for the second goal which was absolutely sublime must reach the same conclusion. Eddys link up play today was outstanding and I've been giving him dogs abuse.

One game at a time. Forget who else is playing today or what they're doing. If we play to our capabilities for the remainder of the season other results will be what they will be and will take care of themselves. We can't influence them. Ourselves alone.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

26 Dec 2020 18:38:15
Completely mate every man and their dug has been saying we should play 2 up front. I reckon we wouldn't have dropped as many points if we had been playing with 2 up top from the start off the season.

Onwards to Wednesday get a good result and then put them back in their place on Saturday.

Agree2 Disagree0

26 Dec 2020 19:03:13
Fans like yourself JFP will be furious if Celtic start next week with only one striker up front and we get beat.
Most fans would rather we went with 2 up front and let them worry about us.
I would take the cautious approach but it might be time for Celtic to take a gamble.
Lennon is the man in charge and he needs to make the correct decision this time after getting it horribly wrong in October.

Agree2 Disagree0

26 Dec 2020 19:30:45
BB all our frailties are at the back so play to our strengths. Eddy and Griffiths up front every day of the week and take the game to them. I watched them today. Hibs were unlucky denied one possibly two penalties. If ever a referee was worthy of his initials it’s him. They don’t like you in their face. They like you standing off them and sitting deep letting them play in the last third. Two strikers and right in about them from the start. Taylor must start.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Dec 2020 19:52:05
The time for trying to be the best footballing side has gone it’s now the time to win games at whatever it takes and that means 2 up top pure and simple.

Agree3 Disagree0

26 Dec 2020 20:28:47
I’m not totally against a 4-4-2 because like you said,
We should play to our strengths and let them worry about us.
But I feel it will only work if Soro is starting in front of Broony.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Dec 2020 22:06:49
Buzz we can't change the midfield of the last 2 games, today's midfield has to start the match in next 2 games.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Dec 2020 22:28:14
After today I’m beginning to agree royjac.
Celtic can hurt them through the middle instead of going down the wings and putting hopeful balls into the box.
I also want Ajer at right back which will make us more solid as well as giving us more height.
And I would play Jullian and Bitton as CB’s at Ibrox, the same as last September.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Dec 2020 01:04:03
Should play a 442 with midfield diamond of soro, turnbull mcgregor and brown. We have consistantly lost the midfield battle against that mob in recent times. Eduard and grifiths up front.

27 Dec 2020 12:07:53
Maybe best to focus on dundee utd first?

Awful conditions today on a plastic pitch. Another 3 points and another clean sheet.
I'd prefer we gave the opposition defence something to think about and play 2 upfront.
If we can keep the wins coming including the game against them, then this is wide open again and they'll drop points.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Dec 2020 16:54:32
St Mirren get 2 players sent off, who do they play next, Sevco of course, Celtic players will have to be careful when we play Dundee Utd on Wednesday.

The Hamilton starting lineup isn’t as decimated as they would like us to believe.
Between the 11 starters they’ve played 119 league games between them this season.
That’s an average of 11 games for each player.
Hamilton were having us all believing they were playing youth players. Nonsense.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

26 Dec 2020 15:12:46
The Celtic players have only played 112 league games between them this season.
So much for Hamilton having a depleted team and playing youngsters.
Collectively the Hamilton players today have played more league games than the Celtic players this season.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Dec 2020 11:35:51
Celtic need to play two up front from the start today not Eddy on his lonesome and waiting until we're needing a minor miracle.

I think Sutton is spot on that Griffiths is the man to spark life into an under performing Eddy. Sutton is certainly qualified by experience with respect to playing two up front beside a quality partner. The benefits were evident during the week. Even Mikey gives us a spark up front as does Kimala or even Ajeti but Eddy is no lone front man.

I am no football tactician in the slightest but I just don't get playing with one striker in domestic football ever.

One game at a time Celtic.

Focus on our own game and forget about anybody else playing today. If we play to our capabilities over the remainder of the season other results will be what they'll be and will take care of themselves.

C'mon the Hoops! HH.

26 Dec 2020 13:31:53
I don’t think it would be wise to play a 4-4-2 at Ibrox with the diamond in midfield.
It would be too narrow and would give their fullbacks more time to put our defence under pressure with cross balls.
I would like to see a 4-5-1 similar to our victory there last season.
Try and boss the midfield and stop them from overlapping down the wings and Celtic can take it from there.
Celtic prevented them from having any clear cut chances for the full 90 minutes last September.
I would like to see the same and protect our young keeper better.
Lennon can always change it as the game progresses but I would like to see us start with a 4-5-1 formation.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Dec 2020 13:52:22
BB I agree 4 midfielders in a diamond makes us narrow and they have width which is problematic but Eddy is a lost soul up front?

26 Dec 2020 14:01:17
Sevco have recently played Davis, Arfield, Kamara, Aribo against Celtic in the last 3 games, they have used Barker and Kent in the last game, they have also used Kent and Defoe, they go for the experienced older Davis and Arfield, and others used upfront as the ones that they think will be the main goal scorers, along with either Roofe or Morelos, Celtic have Brown, Mc Gregor, as our experience midfield, And Turnbull and Soro as the young players with loads of energy, whoever we have to play on the left and right hand side, will have to be really up for this game, if they are Celtic can win.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Dec 2020 14:15:16
If we match their midfield with soro poss broony Callum turnbull Christie then it's up to our full backs to match theirs.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Dec 2020 14:29:12
I would play a 4-5-1
Hazard
Ajer. Jullian. Bitton. Laxalt
Christie. Turnbull. Soro. McGregor. Elyounoussi
Edouard.

Stick to 442 as we are winning and keeping clean sheets.

Kempton 1.15 Galahad Request 14/ 1 (Hills paying FIVE PLACES in a 10 horse field)

Kempton 3.35 Runswick Bay 14/ 1 (Skybet paying SIX places)

Bet each way singles and an each way double

I’ve bet Celtic to win -4 goals @ 11/ 2 and -5 goals @ 12/ 1 on the handicap list.
Another good bet is for Celtic to score 6 goals today @ 9/ 1.
Livingston had 16 shots away to a depleted Hamilton team on Wednesday.

Tim
I put my bets on a couple of days ago when I heard Hamilton had selection problems and the odds have been slashed even more.
For Celtic to score 6 goals is only 11/ 2 now.
And -4 goals is only 17/ 5 and -5 goals is a terrible 17/ 2.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Dec 2020 18:39:27
Unlucky on this occasion Tim, both nags came in second last with the latter pulled up, Neil Lennon praised both horses and both jockeys and waxed lyrical about their attitude, workrate, professionalism and incredible will to win and reiterated how proud he was of their efforts, in an entirely unrelated event both horses were spotted leaving Kempton in an Ivor Williams trailer with the sign ‘knackers yard’ on the side.

Merry Xmas Ed and all the usual suspects. Its been 1 hell of the year. You do a grand job mate so a huge thanks for putting up with us fickle disciples. We have a turbulent season so far but 1 wee shining light is there's now a groundswell telling our unofficial Director of Football your times up. Time for a new fresh
modern direction. i've never had a thought of thinking the Leagues gone and will always keep the faith compared to the hysterical doom and gloom mob. At the end of last season we were 13 ahead with the manky mob having a game in hand reducing the gap to 10 (if won) with 8 games to play. If we win our 3 games in hand we would be only 7 behind with 19 games to play.10 in a row still in the making. HH.
