I know it's a one off game on Sunday but I wonder what that BAD LOOSER to Celtic excuses are going to be this time for sure he won't say better team won we were out classed the full game we could not get near them.

Maybe he will use the bread man's famous "there isn't much between the sides".

Let's not get too cocky lads it's a cup final n Aberdeen are no mugs.

The old saying 'pride comes before a fall', is an old saying because that's what happens, pride comes before a fall, if the team are'nt 100% concentrating, and treating it as a must win game, anything can happen, they might be a bit deflated after the Barcelona game, but thinking Aberdeen will be a walkover will B a mistake.

I would have thought that Aberdeen will be well up for the match, so we will need to show the same determination as them.
Where I think that we are a lot better this season is that you don't look at games and think that the opposition are hungrier than us, that wasn't always the case in the last few seasons.
We weren't really unlucky against Barcelona, so there won't be a feeling of being robbed, equally we weren't hammered by them, so our confidence won't be affected too much. If we play to the same level as we have done so far this season then we won't be too far away.

They've had all week to prepare and that wee slug will have them well pumped-up, so we will have to be on top form to win that cup.
Never taken any cup-tie for granted since I saw big Jock's side lose to Dunfermline in 68 (my first ever time seeing a defeat) and the LC final of 1971 against the Jags when we lost 4-1.
There have been a good few cup disappointments since then and although we are hot favourites, anything can happen (including honest mistakes) - However, on our game, we are the best in the land.

For sure the sheep will come out n try n get in about us n kick us off the park, that's their way. As broony said after the win at pittodrie we stood up to it n that's what I'm sure we will do tomorrow. You win the battles n earn the right to play n i can see us winning 3 1.
Hard game as all games against the sheep, specifically in any final but I see us being too strong for them. Roberts n forrest in if sinclair is out, other than that I'd start Roberts rogic n sinclair.
Hail hail.

Old bhoy. re forrest I think this is his best season for a long time (spl particularly ) and i think he is more effective than roberts but he is guilty of the same mistakes on a regular basis which he never seems to be able change or willing? to change (same as mgeady who was far better than both ) but my point was in europe we are playing 6-7 who aren't quite up to the standard which means they all have to play at their peak every game which isn't always possible and imo opinion that's too many to carry.

Patrick Roberts is a better player than both Forrest and McGeady in my opinion. He's a class act and I'd absolutely love to keep him at the club.

Totally agree Kev, just hope there's a deal in the pipeline as br obviously prefers to use people who are going to be there full time. Roberts is by far the more gifted of the 3 players and would be a first name on the team sheet. Here's hoping 🍀🍀🍀🍀.

I have to say that apart from looking at the next game or so, I believe Brendan Rodgers would always. Pick his best team . He invariably picks Forrest ahead of Roberrts . I trust B R, he hasn't got much wrong.

I agree again with old bhoy, Forrest is obviously Rodgers preferred choice, and I personally think he has more impact in a game than Roberts has.

Agree with keV, Roberts is a class act n our own player or loan I don't care u play the best player.
Don't remember folk shouting the odds for Forrest starting last season, when he had done the exact same as this season started off really well n then blew hot n cold as usual, no consistency n final ball/ end product have always been his main areas needing improvement.
As for loan players old bhoy, don't mind u moaning about us playing denayer over our own player or guidetti over Griffith's when guidetti was banging in the goals (correct me if I'm wrong) . Not really sure where your love in with Forrest is coming from, I get that he's a Celtic player but he isn't better than Roberts, that's just a fact. I back Celtic to the hilt n as many know back n backed Rd to the hilt, so I'm not 1 of the boo boys always needing someone to have a go at or criticise etc but Forrest, despite brendan picking him is still not better than Roberts just like boyata isn't better than big erik, did ok when he played recently n no doubt would be alright in alongside big Erik or simo I'd still go with our main 2, same as Roberts rogic n sinclair rather than Forrest for me.

Bigshaw your opinion is that Robertsis better than Forrest, it's your opinion not a fact. Just because you state something. It doesn't mean it's a fact.

It's so refreshing to read some of the comments coming from Moussa Dembele. That he sees his future here, isn't thinking about moves etc. Of course we might have our hand forced with a bid at some point, but it's nice to think that like, say, Henke, we could enjoy several years of a top talent scoring goals for us who appreciates where he is at.

He has 4 year contract and Celtic won't let him enter last year in case they lose transfer fee. My guess is we will offer him new contract this summer or next summer and hope he stays. If he does not sign I can see him being sold in summer 2018.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - And if he's leaving in 2018 hopefully it's after he's been to the World Cup with France.}

25 Nov 2016 16:56:33
I certainly think we should be looking to extend his contract at the end of this season Rab. Perhaps even with a good buy out clause? That's a fair point about the World Cup too. If he continues the way he's going for the u21s he could easily be called up by then.

25 Nov 2016 17:14:14
I would be happy if he left in summer 2018 and I think that is the most likely date
The MSSM seem v anxious to upset him as they seem to enquire every week about when he is leaving.

25 Nov 2016 19:34:52
Oldbhoy and you are supporting the MSSM by discussing it just like them.
Personally if he goes I think the refs will be to blame lol.

I think u misunderstand what I am doing, I am posting Dembele to stay 3 yrs, MSSM are asking him is he leaving in January .

Was just reading that as of 2018, club's European coefficient will no longer be tied to the nation's coefficient but instead will be solely based on the individual club's own merits.

This is good news for us and glad we will news longer be toed to the fate of the sissy clubs in the league.

Thank goodness for that. None of the others have put much in the overall pot so it's nice to see a more fair system coming in.

Guys but next year our own club coefficient goes down by 10 points as the 2012/ 13 points drop off when we won 16.82 coefficient points, this season we have only earned 6.80 coefficent points, we are paying for losses to Red Imps and Beer Sheva in the qualaifying rounds and a poor group stage especially at Celtic Park, hopefully next season we will still be seeded in all 3 qualifiers but I fear we may not be.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Nov 2016 19:02:23
There won't be many teams in the qualifiers with a better coefficient than Celtic. So I reckon we will be seeded again.

25 Nov 2016 09:53:51
To say none of the other teams have not contributed much to the co efficient is an understatement! They've been nothing short of a disgrace! there's Dundalk going into theere last game of the europa league group stage still with a chance of qualifying! your Aberdeens hearts and the rest Have been an utter embarrassment! So this new ruling is great IMO! We no longer have to worry about the diddy teams getting pumped every year and put out before the schools go back! Should have happened long ago!
