In between the 5 months when Celtic didn’t win on our travels to Livingston.
We played in 25 domestic games altogether and won 24 of those games including the League Cup Final.
The only game Celtic didn’t win, was the Glasgow derby in December.
True Cham9ions.

Guys a wee question for all the stattos out there. Does anyone know the stats on Forsters penalty record for us in his 2 spells for us. It must be very good.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

25 May 2020 23:15:05
Rayman
I think he has faced 23 penalties for Celtic and Saved 11. ( almost 50% )
In his career Forster has faced 38 penalties and saved 15. ( 40% )

Agree1 Disagree0

26 May 2020 00:08:24
Wow 50% that's phenomenal. I knew it was good but not that good. Thanks buzz. got to keep this guy. don't think i ever seen a keeper have such a good season.

I think Craig Gordon is a great shot stopper which makes his record in penalty kicks strange.
According to the stats I checked, out with penalty shoot-outs Craig Gordon faced 20 penalties for Celtic and 19 were scored.
The one that wasn’t scored got put over the bar by Osman Sow of Hearts.
It also shows he faced 44 penalties in his career ( also out with penalty shootouts ) and 41 was scored.
The 3 penalties that weren’t scored were also all off target. So according to those stats Craig Gordon never saved a penalty in his career.
Those stats are not 100% accurate because he saved a penalty in the Scottish cup final against Gretna but the rebound was scored.
I am just wondering if any fans can remember Gordon saving a penalty for Celtic out with a penalty shootout?

What is Gordon’s lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 May 2020 11:18:06
I don't recall Gordon ever saving one. I might have missed it but surely can't be more than one lol always said he'd be as well stepping aside and leaving them an open goal as he's hopeless at penalties.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 May 2020 12:56:31
He saved one in a away champions league qualifiers believe . If they scored they could have made the tie very very edgy.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 May 2020 15:31:22
Duff and phelps you are right.
He saved a penalty away to Beer Sheva
Which took us to the champions league. 👏
When it didn’t mention his save in the Scottish cup final
I felt there would be other penalty saves.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 May 2020 15:32:41
Duff and Phelps
If that penalty was scored, it would have put Celtic out of the CL.
Massive save.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 May 2020 17:55:26
Buzz the reason Gordon doesn't save any penalties is he doesn't dive he just falls over, the one he saved in Europe was hit straight at him and rebounded to safety.

Does anyone think it would be a good idea to lend the SFA a couple of million to help out the wee Scottish teams. Perhaps Sevco would call it a bribe, but i think it would go down well with the lower division clubs.
It might give us the edge, if one of them discovers a wee gem, which fell under the radar.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

25 May 2020 18:27:28
I wouldn't have a problem with this or we could also split the TV money equally among clubs from all divisions for 1-2 seasons.

Agree2 Disagree0

25 May 2020 19:01:56
Clubs like Sevco should get nothing. Any club living beyond its means deserve everything they get.

25 May 2020 20:31:59
Have you seen their ideas on how to improve Scottish football? One suggests smaller clubs should merge as it would make " financial" sense. He thinks " greed" is stopping them. can anyone see the irony in this! How many clubs have they gone through lol deary feckin me😂😂.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 May 2020 21:29:04
aye the orcs and partick thistle could merge to be the biggest club in glasgow lol.

Under the circumstances I wouldn't be opposed to this. Not so much us doing it directly but something more along the lines of what L.A.W. suggests.

26 May 2020 07:32:25
send it to SFA?
We have spent hours on this forum discussing how corrupt, biased and bigoted they are and now a proposal to let THEM dish out OUR funds. I personally don't think so.

Kouassi away to Genk, I don't think anyone is surprised by that.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Genk are willing to buy Kouassi after he played only 4 games for them.
Doesn’t say much for Hagi if they are willing to let him go.

Kouassi didn't really get a chance here, I would have benched Brown and given him a good run of games to see what he could do.

ed 007. what's yer thoughts on Jordan ibe is it worth a gamble.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - He's a bit of a d1ck that seems to cause a lot of problems for himself and that's really affected his career. It's a gamble I'd rather not take.}

25 May 2020 19:08:20
seen he was done with a driving offence not long ago ran his car into a café or something. best to keep away then I suppose mate. not worth the hassle could cause problems in dressing room to.

Another that was supposed to be the next big thing. Obviously his attitude hasn't been right and he's fallen by the wayside.

What's your thoughts on the idea of Paddy Roberts? Loved him in the hoops and he could light up a game in an instant but between injuries and form he's struggled to kick on for me.

I've had a few TRIFC fans tell me this morning how EUEFA are planning to ban Celtic from Europe next season as the league was called early. But they will still be welcome! Firstly I have searched the internet and have not seen this anywhere. Secondly if the league's being punished for finishing early are they not part of that league and vote for the conclusion of said league. Their desperation and wishful thinking knows no bounds.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

25 May 2020 14:08:23
defo brains of a Pidgeon that lot. Scottish league is called early so UEFA are going to ban just 1 team out of the 4 who have qualified for Europe ahaha.

Bhoys, another random post but, IF we can't keep big Fraz (And I so hope we do) then I would go and get Joe Lewis from Aberdeen. They are talking about getting him over on the dark side, however I have always rated the boy and think he would be more than able should we not be able to keep Forster.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

25 May 2020 13:31:52
Is he any better than Bain? I don't remember him ever standing out.

Agree1 Disagree0

Would rather have big Fraser.
If not possible, Joe Hart available on a free transfer?
Would depend on wages, but surely if he wants first team football, can play European football, win medals, then why not.
Or is he past his best?

Just want to say. there has been talk recently of whether or not Brendan Rodgers would be welcomed back to Paradise for celebrations, should we achieve 10IAR. NOT FOR ME. I am a decent chap and wish no ill will to anyone. However, if I saw BR in the street I would pass him by. He is a crackin' manager and class operator, however I cannot forgive.

MON on the other hand. Now, that man is CLASS! Met him in the number 7 years ago. My pal was going through a hard time asked him to sign a card for her. He stood for 10 minutes thinking what to write. MON is aCeltic legend. BR (What a brilliant job he did) is not.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

25 May 2020 10:29:38
I would welcome Brendan back.
Although the way he left us wasn’t nice, I still think we should look at what he achieved.
Brendan wasn’t the best at signing players but he was a good coach and manager.
He basically took Ronnie’s team and turned them into the Invincibles.
When we won the league at Tynecastle, only Sinclair was his player. The 10 other players had played the previous season.
I think he took us to another level which will guarantee Celtic 10 In A Row,
and for that, I will always be grateful.

Agree4 Disagree0

25 May 2020 10:59:37
Ofcourse I would welcome him back, he transformed our team and created history.

There are Judas's in all walks of life - especially football. Rodgers, Kenny Miller, Mo Johnson. All had one thing in mind - there selves. They are mercenaries but the one thing that stands out is that they are winners. If they do what they do to the best of their abilities then the team benefits too. They chase the dollar and if that motivation makes them better then sobeit. Would I want Rodgers back? To be honest, why not, the guy's a winner.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 May 2020 11:55:27
I would also welcome back Brendan Rodgers. I hated the way he left like every other Celtic fan but he also gave me some of my best memories as a fan aswell and for me the many positives of his tenure outweighs the negative departure. I would be quite happy to see him return one day as manager again.

Another good post from Rayman. Maybe it's me. Maybe I should be more forgiving. Not being funny. I shall contemplate.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I wonder if everyone would be so forgiving if we hadn't won the league last year?}

25 May 2020 13:17:51
He should be snubbed, they way he snubbed us.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 May 2020 13:36:07
Not for me. I respect everyone’s opinion and have no problem with people welcoming him back but it’s a big NO from me. In my opinion the timing of when he decided to leave put 8 in a row in jeopardy. People will say he left us with an 8 point lead but there was still a lot of football to be played. What also sticks in my throat is how he constantly told us he was in his dream job yet jumped ship as soon as Leicester came calling. They say times a healer well if that’s I case I need more time 😂.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 May 2020 13:38:51
He’s a rat end of. Wanted to gut us of our entire back room staff. He left get him tae France and he can stay there.
Will be the same fans that chased the bunnet out all those years ago that want the rat back.

It's Danny MGrain I worry about. Has Neil told him his job is safe. Rodgers had 11 games to be immortalised with a Treble Treble. His choice was English Mediocrity which is fair enough but all the Celtic is my team nonsense we got. No Celtic man leaves with 11 games to go. It's a no for me.

Agree1 Disagree0

25 May 2020 14:09:36
not for me. the way he left and tried to take our whole back room staff with him the team morale could have collapsed and we could be sitting on 1 in a row just now because of him walking out when he did he had no care about that at all it was all about him getting to Leicester as quick as possible.

Agree1 Disagree0

25 May 2020 14:30:11
Danny McGrain has a job for life an absolute gentleman why wouldn’t his job be safe?

Ad crawl over broken Glass to play for Celtic and have done it for nothing. A so called fan doesn’t walk out on the club they claim to love. He’s a Judas and always will be in my eyes. Was a great coach but he’s a nobody now. Only way is down after celtic.

25 May 2020 21:02:02
I don't like the way he walked out on us but by the same token I will always be grateful for the double trebles he achieved the two years previously.
In his first year in charge I thought we played some of the best football that we'd played in years so I have to be grateful to him for that.
If we reach the ten then I would be happy to give him a round of applause along with Neil Lennon and Ronny Deila as all three of them played a part in reaching the milestone.
