Aye ed maybe he's better keeping his eyes on the road šŸ¤£.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - He said in an interview last week that he had been interviewed at some point for the Blackburn Rovers job - that's just another bare-faced lie that was easy enough to check out.}

26 Mar 2019 11:37:53
He's definitely not manager material and you'd think it would have hit the rags at some point if true.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Any chairman would need to be off their nut (or up to no good financially) to even consider The Slug as manager.}

26 Mar 2019 14:40:47
That would be a jail sentence if it was one of us. Shocking verdict. The courts are as bad as the corrupt troglodytes who run our game.

Hi, does anyone know anywhere celtic minded in or around St Andrews that would be showing the game on Sunday . Wife booked a hotel break šŸ™„.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

25 Mar 2019 21:17:51
Thereā€™s a few pubs that show games on the Main Street ; just up from the Main building at the 18th/ 1st tee off . How minded they are?

I have to say I'm sickened by the news about Gary McAllister. He might be a Sevconian but you wouldn't wish that on anybody. Hope they catch the person that did it.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Just another example of the amount of @rseholes that are out there on the street, COYBIG.}

25 Mar 2019 20:17:03
Iā€™m no Gary McAllister fan but wish him well and a speedy recovery. As Ed said the incidence of scumbags on the streets is a sign of the times.

Agree1 Disagree0

25 Mar 2019 20:22:03
He's a hero down there is he not? I was really shocked by this because he's not someone that has ever really drawn attention to himself over the years.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - They're now saying the guy that done it was American and had a knuckle-duster on!!

25 Mar 2019 20:26:43
Dominic Matteo said the attack left McAllister without three teeth and needing plastic surgery and 10 stitches. He added: "The attacker is thought to be American, and due to the severity of the injuries may have been wearing a 'knuckle duster' or similar! Absolutely shocking especially for his wife.

{Ed007's Note - I've just pointed the same thing out, sorry.}

25 Mar 2019 20:45:18
Bloody hell.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - It sounds like a nutter full of something who probably didn't know who McAllister was - probably a Trump supporter šŸ˜²

25 Mar 2019 21:22:52
No worries Ed :)

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Sounds a sore yin and there's no need for it. Hopefully the scumbag is caught soon.}

25 Mar 2019 22:29:31
I hope the severity of the injury is reflected in the severity of the sentence, when the perpetrator gets his day in court .

26 Mar 2019 01:08:06
The mad American attacked 4 more people. 2 of them woman. All 4 hospitalised. 1 sick coward of a man. I hope he gets street justice then jail.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Mar 2019 23:44:26
As you say Ed, he probably doesnā€™t even know who McAllister is. Pity he hadnā€™t tried to do that someone like Roy Keane or Artur Boric. Might have been a different outcome.

We will find out on Tuesday who will referee the game on Sunday.
I thought would be selected but there is a rumour from a former ref who has said bobby madden will get the nod.
Collum and beaton were never getting this game, so if it wasnt a rookie ref, that leaves Thompson or madden.
I am surprised Kevin Clancy has never been a referee in one of these games. He has been a referee for 8 years, so has the experience to cope, yet john fleming has never selected him.
With the amount of league and cup games we have played against them recently, you would have thought Clancy would have officiated at least one match.
Is it because he is a Roman Catholic and has not be schooled by Fleming, like collum has been since he was 14 years old, is that the real reason Clancy has never had a look in.
Fleming won't be taking any chances especially since Clancy booked fredo twice for diving in the cup recently.
Even though Clancy is a Catholic, I have heard he is a Partick Thistle fan.
I can only imagine how hard it must be for young Catholic Celtic fans who want to reach the top as a referee in Scotland under this current regime. Shame On Scotland.

25 Mar 2019 15:44:20
Leon bhoy 10 Willie Collum is a Roman Catholic who teaches RE, so Kevin Clancy being one is not the reason he doesnā€™t get old firm games, why, I donā€™t know, maybe heā€™s not good enough. oldkilly.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Mar 2019 16:54:44
Oldkilly, I am aware collum is an RE teacher but I am also aware that collum has been groomed by John Fleming since he was 14 years old, when Fleming was Lanarkshire refs development officer.
Why else would collum give the old club a penalty without even seeing the incident in his first old firm match as it was called back in the day.
Twice collum gave the old club a hat trick of penalties in the one game.
Once against Dundee Utd when he also sent off the 3 Utd players and he also gave them 3 penalties versus St Mirren before the old club died.
I believe collum is an exception who the Lanarkshire referee supremo can trust since he has mentored him and brainwashed him his whole career.
The question is why has Kevin Clancy never officiated one of these games given he has 8 years experience.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Mar 2019 17:22:26
Leonbhoy, i immediately thought the same as you, coz he's a Catholic.

Agree1 Disagree0

25 Mar 2019 19:18:22
Leonbhoy if the reason Kevin Clancy doesnā€™t get the old firm game because of his faith and he may favour Celtic, this will be the same Clancy who disallowed a perfectly good goal at Motherwell and I may be wrong here was he not in charge against the same team at Celtic Park when Motherwell scored a controversial goal, so on that evidence he doesnā€™t favour Celtic. oldkilly.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - To be fair there was nothing any referee could have done about the Motherwell goal at Celtic Park, they never broke any rules.}

25 Mar 2019 20:14:26
Ed was talking to my son in law who is a grade one EUFA official after the Motherwell game and said Clancy could have done something regarding that goal such as blowing for a retake . oldkilly.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Under what rule/regulation? As far as I am aware - and I'd be happy to be corrected - there is no rule or regulation about returning the ball. It is an unwritten rule and seen as the gentleman's way but there is no written rule that cover it:

Law 5 here....

{Ed007's Note - #MeToo

25 Mar 2019 20:33:40
I never said Clancy would favour Celtic.
I was just wondering why Fleming does not trust Clancy.
Scotland have only a handful of referees who get the big games like semis and finals
Collum, Beaton, Madden, Thompson and Clancy.
The first 4 mentioned get Celtic v sevco games between them, yet Clancy can be given Hampden showpiece games with his 8 years experience but has never experienced the glasgow derby. Strange.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Mar 2019 20:41:26
Kevin Clancy has been a ref since 2000.
He has been a referee in European matches since 2012.
Clancy was the ref in last years scottish cup final.
But he is not allowed to referee a glasgow derby, Why?

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Mar 2019 21:32:07
You are correct Ed there is no rule/ regulation, under the circumstances leading to the goal he could have used some common sense ie taken from the wrong place, the ref wasnā€™t ready according to my son in law, anyway its history now. oldkilly.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Referees and common sense? Behave yourself auld yin lol šŸ˜²

25 Mar 2019 22:01:10
I can't believe in this day and age we're still talking about religion in football and I'm not naive enough to think it doesn't exist but me personally I don't care what religion a ref is cheating is cheating and we seem to have more than our share of dishonest refs it's time they were forced to come out after games be shown the decision's and have to explain them on TV that would soon make them more honest I think.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Mar 2019 18:16:19
A guy my mate knows in work says there someone he knose whoose traning to be a ref and the traning place is full of rangers fans and they get some banter in there. I wonder what the banter is.

With centre half looking like area needing covered for new season would signing Sviachencko back be an option.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

25 Mar 2019 05:57:13
I liked Sviachencko. He appeared to be a nice person but i think we remember him through rose tinted glasses. He wasnt the best centre back. One of his problems was his pace so no thanks for me.

Agree1 Disagree0

25 Mar 2019 07:20:43
He never was good enough and no it wouldnā€™t be a good option in my opinion. We should be aiming for much higher than that. Ajer is already a better CB than he ever was.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Mar 2019 08:15:36
Good CB but lacked of pace was an issue with our style of play.

25 Mar 2019 13:22:34
Too many silly fouls in dangerous areas. A nice lad by all accounts but I donā€™t get why a lot of fans think heā€™s the answer. Mind watching him against linfield and Andy effing waterworth bullied him the whole game.

25 Mar 2019 15:12:06
I think we should start exploring some of the danish u21 market they are ranked 5th I believe so must have some good talents their at good prices unlike English u21 players who cost a fortune and they are ranked 4th in under21, a right back option could be rasmus kristensen looks a good player 7 goals in 16 games for his country, Joachim Anderson 6ft 4 cb would be perfect alongside ajar in my opinion Robert skov winger scored loads for Copenhagen would be a great buy along with Markus ingvartsen who is a great forward I think these guys could be bought at a good price low wages and certainly improve us.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Mar 2019 16:17:36
Also regairding toljan I think we should buy him if we can get him on the cheap as I think he will get better and better, if he was as good at defending as teirney he would be out with our prove range heā€™s a rough diamond with severe pace he will be a great right back as long as we give him the chance great talent.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Mar 2019 19:34:15
Correct me if Iā€™m wrong but was it not Simunovic and Sviachenko for most of the invincible season? If so, would that paring not work again?

Agree3 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Big Sviatchenko wasn't everybody's cup of tea but he was a no nonsense old type of CB and a massive upgrade on the likes of Hendry. Obviously Rodgers didn't like him because he wasn't the best at passing it about the back (and Boyata is?) but for me he would have been a Lennon type of player - and sometimes that's what you need.
I'd love us to find a 20ish-year old Nemanja Vidic type to nurture as a partnership with Ajer. 4 CBs, 2 ball players and 2 hard battling blood and guts warriors that would throw their granny at a shot to stop a goal and then mix and match as games/fitness etc dictate.

25 Mar 2019 23:00:15
I always thought he was strong in the air with an added touch of physicality that would make you feel reluctant to go up for a high ball with him again. A bit like Bobo although not quite as scary.
