Ed
just seen Mario Balotelli been done for 4 games IMO a wee bit harsh YET Lescote's elbow looked worse and Crouch attempt at eye gouging was for me the worst of them all.Strange that 2 England players walk free with no case to answer. Take me back to the Alan Shearer i will refuse to play in the World cup if you charge me with the assault on Neil Lennon. I was in a pub in Dublin not long after they cleared Shearer and a man you might be aware of Eamon Dunphy was in our company and he came out with a belter of a line.
The English FA cleared Shearer no surprise there im just shocked he hasn't forced them to charge Neil Lennon with sticking the head in Shearer's Boot.

Bhaldrick {Ed007's Note - LMAO Shearer is an arrogant twat always has been, he used his position in the England team to get his own way all the time. I like Balotelli and really didn't see anything that bad about it.}

If. Dermot Desmond is serious about leading. Celtic into the premiership then he should get his fellow billionaire shareholders together , they should look into a buyout of Portsmouth FC who are close to being wound up , they could then merge the clubs to enable Celtic to play in the championship from Celtic Park , Portsmouth could start afresh further down the leagues , this should be allowed to happen as there are teams such as Cardiff , Swansea , Wrexham , Derry City , BERWICK RANGERS , teams from Lichtenstein , Andorra etc playing league football outside their own country , S*y TV would have no objections as Celtic are a huge draw , initial costs would be high , but they would re-coup their investment over a few years and Celtic would go from stregnth to stregnth and reach the premiership quickly .

Believable2 Unbelievable1

You make it all sound so easy.

Agree2 Disagree1

Heard it all before perhaps 15 years ago with Wimbledon. I appreciate the enthusiasm, but really do you think that DD needs advice? Mr Desmond is a VERY astute and clever man, be assured he is doing absolutely everything for the good of CFC we are extremely lucky to have him. Will we ever go to England? I really dont care. What I care about is having good players at the club playing attractive football and doing well in Europe. We can do both in Scotland...eventually. Chasing the Golden Fleece is all very well but the consequences of our impatience to win the Champions League could come back to haunt us. Believe me I would love to have the worlds best players at CFC, but I think we would also lose some of what makes us CFC. I enjoy being an underdog in Europe and when we beat the arrogant teams in England and on the continent it is all the sweeter. I also prefer seeing our Bhoys develop and playing for the Club. Its great to see JF and Charlie doing so well. They would have had no chance trying to squeeze into a team with the Bolltellis Rooneys etc of this world. Be careful what you wish for my old Mum used to say.. Sopot Celt

Agree1 Disagree0

It's not going to happen. If Celtic or Rangers for that fact, were to enter the English leagues they would have to start from the bottom and work their way up i.e League 2 or even Conference.

It won't be as easy to just MERGE two clubs together...

Unlucky Real Madrid I think you should have won. Never will be a Mourinho fan after his Porto days but Barcelona are similar to them with all the cheating and diving and rolling around. Great pity because if they stuck to playing their stuff with all those great players they are virtually un-beatable without all the histrionics and conning gullable referees.
Would like to see Madrid win La Liga.

Okay the whole thing with Jelavic and the dark side is dragging on a bit, but it is the juiciest bit of transfer gossip going.

For me the question seems to be around whether they can or should sell him now and reinvest in other players. The tax case makes all this conjecture, but the winding up order given against Portsmouth should be he clearest indication yet of HMRC's intent football clubs and tax owed. Also remember that an offer of around £15m was made and rejected, so clearly Her Majesty's (yes I get the irony of this) inspectors are going for it all.

It is possible that Rangers could win their appeal, and if so they'll have a plan for dealing with it, bu that result won't be known until a few weeks after the transfer window slams shut. If they sell Jelavic now they won't reinvest any of it in the team, as I think you would have an argument for reckless behaves by the directors in light of the potential liability against the club.

My bet is that he stays, an unhappy man, and when the cards are laid out for the tax case then the brown smelly stuff will hit the rotating impelling device. If they do go into Administration then players will be sold or released from contract, and staff laid off. The choice is not the clubs but the administrator, and high wage earners will be gone.

Apologies for the lengthy post, but it's why I think nothing happens this window. The rest is frankly smoke and mirrors to pretend that there is some activity going on. {Ed007's Note - If I was a betting man, I would have £5 on Jelavic handing in a transfer request ;-)

Believable0 Unbelievable2

Won't be known for weeks try months man!

CB

Agree1 Disagree0

The original poster stated "For me the question seems to be around whether they can or should sell him now and reinvest in other players."

That is not the question. They are skint and have no cash flow to operate. They have to sell him now to provide cash to run the business until May. The issue of selling him now to invest in players is irrelevant, the proceeds of any sale will be used as cashflow.

Not a rumour but an interesting read,

Uefa warns clubs about spending ......

Uefa new financial fair play rules , clubs which fail to comply could face player bans and point deductions,

the regulations take effect. from 2013 and permit loses of up to 37.5 million over two year period with the aim of eventuality breaking even.

Marco1888 {Ed007's Note - The FFP Regs are a bit more complicated than that Marco but that is the basic principle, clubs can only spend what they make.}

ED007, Bhaldrick I found these song titles, some are parodies but are genuine songs, some are spookily right on the ball. I defy any Tim not to have a wee smile at these Enjoy Timalloy

It's your money I'm after Baby - The Wonderstuff
You gotta say yes, to another Excess - Yellow
Working at McDonalds - John Costello
No Budget - Steve Kalafut
Return Everything - parody of Pitbull song
Taxman v Fatman - Michael Pacholek
and my personal favourite (and note the artist)
The Liar Speaks Tonight - by Call Me Lennie

Name of album - SCHADENFREUDE

Last season between the end of May through to the end of the August transfer window I counted between Daily Record , Scottish Sun and Radio Clyde how many players Celtic were linked with and the number I had was 26 and out of all of them they only got 1 that was eventually signed . Lets not get hung up on imaginative or speculative journalism because it is all mince. Also try and not get yourself hung up on ex-players that have turned football experts and radio panellists and newspaper columnists, with the money that's in the game just now for coaches and experts why are they on the airwaves and red tops . Because they are poor and failed in the dressing room after they hang up their boots, The daily record usually roll out some unemployed ex player for an experts view of the auld firm before the game and throw him the price of a football coupon as long as he put something controversial in writing that will get people wound up.

Bartender and The Thief--- Stereophonics

Bhaldrick {Ed007's Note - I've said it before Bhaldrick, look at the lyrics of Pink Floyd's Money and it ties in so well with Whyte is is downright creepy:

Money

Get away
You get a good job with good pay and you're okay
Money
It's a gas
Grab that cash with both hands and make a stash
New car, caviar, four star daydream
Think I'll buy me a football team

Money
Well, get back
I'm all right Jack
Keep your hands off of my stack
Money
It's a hit
Don't give me that do goody good bullshit
I'm in the high-fidelity first class travelling set
I think I need a Lear jet

Money
It's a crime
Share it fairly
But don't take a slice of my pie

Hi ed, interested in your preference for madrid. I been a big fan of barca since king of kings went there, went a few times so good to watch even better now. Are u aware that madrid consistently buy their way to success, are heavily linked with the royal family(who have bailed them out on a few occasions) and are forever gettin referee decisions historically. And every other football fan in spain hate them, remind u of anybody lol.
Rayman {Ed007's Note - Fantastic reason to support a team, because someone signed for them. Big CFC fan are you? Ever heard of If You Know The History? Have a read at something I wrote, it goes a wee bit further back than 2004 when you started supporting Barca, you might actually learn something:

jockstein67.blogspot.com/

Agree0 Disagree1

Yeah I read rumours that he was slagging off casillas and Ramos and ended up getting stick off the fans for doing so
Frankie Bhoy {Ed007's Note - Ronaldo's ego is causing problems as well, him and Higuain do not get on at all and I think it has became a 'camp' sort of situation. I don't mean 'camp' as in going for windy walks and talking about soft furnishings type of way, I mean the squad is taking sides over it.}

Agree1 Disagree1

Gut feeling that Madrid will be out in the steel toe caps tonight and look to damage a few Barca players as that would weaken them for future league games

As for Jose out end of season
thats looking more a stick on with the player revolt taking place
As for replacement my money is already on Joachim Low current Gemany manager

Bhaldrick

Agree0 Disagree0

Excellent article you've written there Ed. The Madrid game was indeed a very competitive match and as you say, two players were sent off. Before the match, Madrid and their fans were very annoyed that Celtic were European Cup holders as they saw themselves as European champions. This was nothing personal against Celtic, it was just their view that they were the best team in Europe and would have held the view against any club that held the trophy.

It did mean though that the match, although a testimonial, was played in as a highly competitive and charged atmoshpere, which included the two dismissals.

The old clips of the game are fantastic with Jinky receiving the Ole's from the crowd during the game and him holding the ball aloft in the centre circle after the game to the cheers of the crowd. However, the competitiveness of the game was also shown after the final whisltle. Whilst Jinky was holding the ball aloft, a Madrid player knocked the ball out of his hand.

A truly remarkable season for Celtic. {Ed007's Note - Thanks a lot.}

Its took the best part of a year but the Daily Record finally has a page about the state of Rangers with "club in turmoil" at the top. I remember playing pre season friendlies in Poland and not winning any and the Record had "Club in crisis" with the good old broken Celtic crest at the top of the page. We went on to win the treble. The reporters of the West coast are kidding no-one with this article. This will be the last we here of the plight of the tax dodgers for another month.

Jellyfish is an embarrassment, he forced Rapid's hand so he could join the 'shame', and now he's doing the same to leave them. And the only club interested after his form this season, is a championship club!

In fat sally we trust!

How is he doing the same to Rangers? The media haven't stopped linking with the EPL since he arrived in Scotland. Jelavic has always stated he wants to join the EPL one day, he wouldn't have much ambition if he didn't....

How many more times do the media want to ask him about a move to the EPL? Are they desperate???
