Yet another win against Aberdeen and yet again McInnes saying they were unlucky to lose.

The guy talks absolute nonsense.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

26 Feb 2018 07:20:40
That's the same McInnes that says at the weekend" Celtic always turn up against us" he should be more worried about getting his own team to turn up in the big games.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Feb 2018 09:08:32
Yesterday was never a doubt, Aberdeen just can't win when it matters. Serial bottlers.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Feb 2018 09:49:26
He also said he can’t remember us having many chances? We could have been 5 up by half time. Dembele, Rogic x2 and Broony missed great chances as well as Sinclair and Ntcham hitting the woodwork. 🙈.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Feb 2018 20:29:13
If we win our next game, can we win the league at Ibrokes?

2 wins right?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

25 Feb 2018 22:36:34
There's ten ganes left all in. Mind it splits after 33 games.

So no, two wins, even if they lose next game then to us would only be 15 points with 24 left to play for. I think. Its been a long day and my maths has never been the best.

Agree0 Disagree1

26 Feb 2018 07:31:48
Can guarantee we will get them really early in the split to avoid us winning the league against them.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Feb 2018 16:43:52
If we win against Dundee and then beat them at Ibrox it won't be mathematically impossible to lose the league but we will be in a very strong position going into the last 8 matches.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Feb 2018 20:07:33
Well done Celtic on getting a very important win today. Not our best performance but we got the job done. The Aberdeen pitch is a disgrace, how can the pitch be so bad? Hail Hail.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

25 Feb 2018 20:21:15
Dug up on purpose probably.

Agree1 Disagree0

25 Feb 2018 23:50:44
I’ve been really critical of the players, I said earlier we’d see what they were made of today, and they won on a difficult pitch, so well done to the players and staff👍.

25 Feb 2018 19:32:04
And yerman Brown . Folklore . that's where he's heading . Legend of a man .

Believable7 Unbelievable2

25 Feb 2018 19:54:12
Scott Brown will rightly take his place amongst Celtic legends. His drive, bravery, skill, massive heart and love of our great club will never be questioned. He is an insperation, and I for one, will miss him greatly when he eventually hangs the boots up.

Agree4 Disagree1

25 Feb 2018 19:57:04
Indeed. Broon has earned the right to be remembered as a great Celtic captain. Green and White to the core! ☘️.

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - Didn't someone post the other week that he's only one trophy off equalling Hearts entire trophy haul?}

25 Feb 2018 20:09:19
Ed you should post the video of Broons reaction after that tackle against him today. I’ve just seen it and at a better angle than during game. He celebrates in front of Dons fans! A Celtic legend and a madman! That beats the Broony! ☘️.

Agree2 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note -

25 Feb 2018 20:17:11
He's got to be up there with some great captains I'd say. His trophy haul alone puts him up there but the way inspires people around him is what makes him a great captain.

Agree1 Disagree3

25 Feb 2018 20:19:34
Don't tell Craig Leiven that Ed fur fox sake he can't stand him as it is the now 😁🍀.

{Ed007's Note - Broony will probably let him know.}

Jfp it was in front of our fans.

Agree1 Disagree1

25 Feb 2018 20:55:53
Feck, that clip is magnificent.
That's Broony's way of saying, "This is what it means to be Celtic".
Hail Hail to our super captain, long may you reign boss! HH.

Agree4 Disagree0

25 Feb 2018 19:21:14
Did anyone see Madden when Ajer got the head injury? He put the whistle to his mouth to blow which is the rules with head knocks, has a look up and sees them 3 on 1 and let's play go on. For me it is scandalous that he is not getting asked to explain why he did not stop the game. Good to be able to point these things out after a win otherwise we'd be accused of sour grapes.
Oh, and while I'm there, that park was like something you'd see from the 70s. I'm certain teams cut up their park for us coming as a leveller. And showcasing that on Sky is just plain embarrassing. What decent player would want to come to Scotland and play on parks like that and the one at Killie and Hamilton? Surely a minimum standard must be brought into play if we've to move our game forward?
Finally, well done to the team today. I thought Ajer, Broony, KT, Ntcham and Dembele were good. Considering we landed back home less than 72 hours ago from a hard game in Russia and had the travel up there then they done us proud today. Bit of consistency in selection and performances now for the rest of the season HH.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

25 Feb 2018 19:50:50
Yes, head knocks are instant stoppage . Even at youth level where my son plays . His initial reaction was, why hasn't the ref stopped play? It was head on head! So no excuses 😔.

Agree3 Disagree1

25 Feb 2018 20:19:45
Guys bang on the point:
Is there not an official in the stand watching the game, that reports incidents like that.
What about the Refs committee coming out and saying something about this?

Agree1 Disagree1

25 Feb 2018 21:38:57
Don't get me started on that current. Anyone (and there are two or three at present) who held a season ticket at Ibrox, buying into their culture, mindset and beliefs (not to mention maybe singing or chanting their bile) - has no place impersonating an impartial official at any Celtic games. Only in Scotland would this happen.

Agree3 Disagree1

26 Feb 2018 04:25:35
Too right OaB. A shake up is long overdue with refs supporting/ officiating certain clubs.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Feb 2018 07:55:39
That was shicki g refereeing he should be up on a charge blood pouring from ajer and he let's play continue shocking.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Feb 2018 19:18:19
Back in your box, tittle challenge is on! Think again, Brendan's here for ten.

Believable4 Unbelievable2

25 Feb 2018 18:53:40
So McInnes reckons our 2nd goal was a moment of madness from them. Nothing to do with the fact it was a really well crafted counter attack and finish. And apart from the goals we didn't have any other chances? Total discredit to Woodman who kept them in it as well as the woodwork too! That guy is so bitter.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

25 Feb 2018 19:16:35
McInnes decided to commit men forward once we got Lustig sent off. When you do that you always run the risk of a quick counter.

If he did not want to run that risk he should not have committed so many men forward. The blame lies at his door, so he should stop trying to deflect away from his own inadequacies.

Agree0 Disagree1

25 Feb 2018 20:17:59
0-1 down and 11v10 if it was madness then I'm not sure what his gameplan was. Wasn't he wanting his team to commit players forward to try get back into the game? Or was he just hoping one of the many freekicks Madden gave then would allow them to launch it in the box and hope a goal will come of it? Just seems to have excuses for his own failings and that his team bottle the big games.

Agree0 Disagree1

25 Feb 2018 17:29:27
Young Ajer is coming on leaps and bounds . Marshalling the back line and those mazy run forward .

Believable3 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - It's frightening that Ajer's only 19. The Club should be getting his agent in to look at extending the lad's contract, that's his 10th start in a row in the league for us and we've kept a clean sheet in 7 of them and he's only picked up a solitary booking in those 10 starts too.}

We just have to win our next 2 league games and the league is in the bag.

If we do that we will be at least 12 clear with a healthy goal difference.

Therefore, we would need to lose 4 games out of the last 8 and they would need to win last 8 and score a bucket load to catch us, which I really can't see.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

25 Feb 2018 17:38:09
4 wins and 6 draws is all we need to confirm it, 15-20 pt gap by the end of the season I reckon 😁😁.

25 Feb 2018 18:27:02
Is that us winning the league again, lol. Not saying anyone who has posted in this thread was doom and gloom on Thursday.
Just happy to see folk happy again. I’m sure another 2 wins and we will be back on top of the world lol. Cracks me up.

25 Feb 2018 18:36:32
Av got a bet on with a hun in work that thinks they're going to win it. A thought a straight bet was too easy so a said Al concede it if we don't win by 15 points. Silly Billy took the bait. Offered him another bet before that one that no-one would stop us doing 10. He never took it tho, he's that daft that he doesn't realise if he doesn't think anyone can stop that then his bet won't come up.

Less than seventy two hours after playing, and obviously travelling and all that entails, in Russia. On a terrible pitch. With Madden, who i suspect may have adopted mclean, giving them every chance to launch balls into our box.

Well done.

Believable6 Unbelievable0

25 Feb 2018 16:57:31
I am chuffed to bits with that. Today for me was all about the result.
After the trip to Russia it was good to see us digging in and fighting for the win.
I imagine most of the rest of Scottish football will be feeling bit deflated tonight, that makes the result even more sweet.
Well done to Brendan and the players.

Agree2 Disagree0

25 Feb 2018 16:15:47
Happy with a few things today:-
A victory at a difficult venue.
A great response to European exit.
Goal and assist for The Moose
A clean sheet for Dodgy Dorus.
Re-establishing 9 point gap.
Holding firm with 10 men.
OK we are still not at our best and never created as many chances as I would have liked; but we still have a lot of injury absences and players struggling for form and sharpness.
However, we are still on course for a clean sweep of honours - even with The Establishment 'running interference' and if we do win a treble this season, it will be even better than last year, considering the situation we are in compared to when we had a fully fit squad and players on top of their form scoring for fun.
Not to mention, apparently we are up against a much better Sevco?!

Believable5 Unbelievable1

25 Feb 2018 15:37:46
Ed, I said last night 2-0 and Moussa to score. Performance wasn't great but the 3 Points are. Will get the Lottery numbers for you later! 😜😜.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Pittodries's never an easy place to go to and after playing in Russia a few days ago I'm more than happy with today's result.}

25 Feb 2018 16:01:10
Well it was job done today! Good result after a hard European away game. got to be top priority to get both Lustig and jozo out the team for the run in! 2 liabilities who we cannot keep in the team. lustig is done for me and jozo gets worse in every game I see him! Lost count the amount of needles fouls he gave away In that 2nd half!

Agree5 Disagree0

25 Feb 2018 16:03:24
Delighted with that, i thought that this could be the game out of our next 3 league games we could of slipped up with the travelling back from Russia etc. I hope this helps to put those that thought there was a title race on and were starting to go a bit biscuit arsed at ease. Lustig needs a long spell on the side lines he's been rotten for weeks now.

Well that’s the first part of the great plan the sheep were meant to do is today and then they do us in the next auld firm game (which doesn’t exist anymore as for that both teams need to be auld? ) wait till the MSM try to come up with the next strategy to keep the gullibles excited roll on Ibrox give that shower another skelping 🙂🍀.

Might be his first start back but Rogic been really poor and looks disinterested.

Get him off and get Musonda / McGregor or Edouard on.

Ntcham been poor at times as well.

25 Feb 2018 15:13:27
Ntcham has been outstanding. Keeping the ball under control and moving on a horrific surface.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

25 Feb 2018 10:27:00
Eds team today any thoughts I don't see many changes.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed007's Note - I wouldn't like to try and guess what Rodgers will do today.}

25 Feb 2018 11:28:03
Have to agree Ed, this is now a must win for me. I doubt there is any chance DDV will be dropped, it would shred him and leave Bain for season end, as our defence needs some kind of familiar look.

I think Gamboa will come in for his pace, surely the sheep will have two quick wide men, and the same other three. Commpar? Fit? Maybe the bench? Broony and Qllie Bhoy then Jamesy Rogic and Mussonda with Odsonne up top.

They will miss Shinnie, always stands out for them i have thought. An early storm, weather it and take control. A message needs to be sent loud and clear here.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I can't see DDV being dropped today and then reinstated for Dundee in midweek when Bain will be illegible to play. I do think Bain will play against Morton next week. If Ralston is fit I can see him coming in at RB today but I was told last night that Compper isn't even playing bounce games in training so I think it'll be a while yet before we see him.}

25 Feb 2018 11:40:18
4-3-3 with Sinclair starting. If no other RB cutting the mustard he could always put Tierney there with Miller at left back.

Agree0 Disagree1

25 Feb 2018 11:43:22
I reckon Rogic will start he has been a sheepskelper over the years and would like to see Roberts making an appearance at some point. It’s a game for Broon today. Game plan should be keep the ball away fae oor goalkeeper. Surely if Bain isn’t good enough there’s another keeper somewhere we can get on loan until the end of the season. Signing a goalkeeper because he’s good with his feet but can’t stop a shot is like employing an electrician that can’t wire a plug but he’s some tiler.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Feb 2018 12:14:56
Jfp1888 we can't bring another keeper on loan now the window is shut.

yes, overrated, overpaid, and over exposed by the parasites that feed off the bull. that's my moan over, got up this morning and smiled just to get it over with. let's see if our 10k+ a week players can win today. I reckon if i worked on a Saturday and maybe a day during the week, then practiced how to work on the other days that i don't work, smashing. Then play a game that last 90 minutes shared between 11 players, that's 90 mins / 11 = 8.18 minutes each to play. i want a rise, 10k is not enough for that hassle. have a good one today and let's rip the sheep's legs off. time for good old fight ad passion. hail hail.

25 Feb 2018 06:59:50
I hope aitchison, miller, Ralston, hendry and others are giving prolonged runs for the rest of the season. Lustig is done so now is the time for Ralston to stake his claim. Dembele shouldn't play for Celtic again as he doesn't want to be here so give Atchison his chance. Miller should be plying in front of Sinclair due to his form (why on earth Rodgers feels it's a good idea playing him at left back is beyond me) and hendry should be given a chance along side ajar as simunovic is all over the place. The sad thing is these players most probably won't get a sniff though as these other players will have to pay or there price goes down for the summer.
On a positive note, looking forward to paddy coming back.

25 Feb 2018 08:56:07
Ralston definitely but if we play young Jack and Miller and we get a few dodgy results the knifed will be out i am afraid.

No more excuses now about form, changing team selection's etc as it's domestic football from now on in. What's required today is a dominant strong performance from the bhoys and blow all this nonsense about a title challenge out the water. Only reason that other mob believe in a challenge is down to us and some really poor results this season so the lads need to put it right and there's no better place to do it than pittodrie. The likes of dembele and Sinclair especially need to start turning it on. Big result required today I feel, if nothing other than to put some people back in their place.

Agree1 Disagree0

25 Feb 2018 10:37:37
I think (injuries permitting) we have to play the strongest team available every week - including the Cup games with no room for sentiment or passengers.
Even without Griffiths and Armstrong, we still have the best squad in the country and if any player is incapable or unwilling to give 100% to find their best form from now until the end of the season, they don't deserve the jersey.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Feb 2018 11:02:26
Europe has hindered us to an extent so let's hope there's no hangover today bhoys in Brendan we trust.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Feb 2018 11:47:55
Just because players are young, it doesn't mean they are better than more experienced players.
Aitchison scored a goal for the first team a couple of years ago and has barely been seen since. Last season for a spell we played without a striker when Griffiths and Dembele were out, the fact he couldn't get into the team then probably tells you that he isn't good enough at the moment.

Today is the game that will define our season. Its massive! If we slip up the gap is 6/ 7 pts and we’ll have went 3 league games without a win. Not that Rangers are flying but they are in fairly good form. Given how the last old firm game went, them beating us at Ibrox is by no means a pipedream. Rodgers needs to decide on his best 11 and stick with it. This can still be a special season but we need to improve massively. Today is our chance to prove that we are still the best in Scotland by a distance! COYBIG.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

25 Feb 2018 09:10:37
We have rarely got out of second gear this season yet we are 9 points clear. As soon as we find our form we will blow everyone away. So let's hope we find it soon, today would be a good starting point.

Agree0 Disagree1

25 Feb 2018 10:10:13
As soon as. We’ve been saying that all season. Apart from about four games we have been sluggish and totally uninspiring. Too many players still dining out on last years performances. Time to stand up lads. Way beyond time to stand up.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Feb 2018 10:20:45
RAW 2 good games this season Celtic have played and we are almost in March, as soon as we hit form?

Where is this optimism coming from? It’s been such a poor season we are potentially only 6 points ahead of Aberdeen and Rangers and if Aberdeen finally stop bottling it then we have already seen the poorer clubs claiming points at Parkhead so Dundee will have more optimism in getting a point.

With our squad we should be streets ahead? Anything less than a convincing 2 or 3 nil win today should not be tolerated.

Agree1 Disagree1

25 Feb 2018 10:36:51
So what you going to do if we win 1-0 then, eh?

Agree0 Disagree1

25 Feb 2018 10:45:16
What if last season was the aberration? We're often saying how its most Ronny's team: maybe this is just how the team generally performs, and they had a hell of a streak last year . . . .

Agree1 Disagree1

25 Feb 2018 11:09:11
@KevT - I have to disagree that we have only played two good games this season.

1st Rangers game we dominated and won 2-0
We beat Astana 5-0
We pumped Kilmarnock 5-0
We pumped Hearts 4-1
We destroyed Anderlecht 3-0 away from home
We destroyed both Dundee and Partick 4-0
We played well against Bayern when we lost 2-1
We destroyed Aberdeen 3-0 twice
We pumped Motherwell 5-1
We destroyed Hearts 3-1 in January

These are just some of the ones I can recollect and am sure there are a few more.

I am happy to admit that we have been inconsistent and well below last season's form but to claim we have only played 2 good games all season is just wrong.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Feb 2018 11:25:17
Anything other than a 2 or 3 nil win should not be tolerated?

Kwaj - wins a win but we need a dominating one with a dominating score line

RAW - a lot of the wins you mentioned where when these teams where struggling not dur to us being anything great.

Kev - I don’t have a sense of entitlement, I do have a sense of Dejavu with Celtic constantly failing to build on a previous successful season. There isn’t a domestic challenge yet we are just ahead of Aberdeen and Rangers

Apart from the joy of winning the league, would you be satisfied if we only won it by 1 point?
