Hi lads. Was just checking there where can I watch Celtic match on Sunday. Again sky sports are showing Rangers, any time I go to check matches on sky it seems to be always Rangers . I actually don't know when sky last showed a Celtic match and we are going for 10 ina row. It's an absolute joke for sky . The only time I hear about Celtic on sky is when they are creating stories to get our best players to move to premier league.

I hope you don't pay for Sky Sports then Paul? I honestly can't understand why any Scottish football fan would.

How big a risk is it to change manager this year? Will lenny get it right or will PL have the balls to change gaffers. We have the best squad of players for a while but really need to click big style soon or some new guidance. We are living game by game hoping the next game is the one where we will start to play.

Leave Lenny but ask Martin O’Neil to come in and help for rest of season.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Sep 2020 23:53:33
If we'd got beat tonite we might have found out. Probably not, alas. Lenny needs to step up or move off the pot. This team is capable of so much more its genuinely sad.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Sep 2020 00:27:22
It's similar to the start of BR's last season. We played really poorly but were still grinding out results and were just hoping there would be that one game when it all clicks into place. Tbh I felt we would have pushed on a bit after Ross County but it hasn't worked out that way.

Agree1 Disagree0

25 Sep 2020 08:04:48
I said the same about Rodgers last season but didn't get put up. Difference is we are grinding out wins this season when we were drawing that season. Also said hibs will beat us if we play like that. Taylor never a left wing back and rogic is our best 10. Forget all this Christie or Ntcham nonsense. Big tam is creative. Christie runs about and Ntcham does next to nothing.

Agree1 Disagree0

25 Sep 2020 08:06:04
I think Dermot Desmond will make the decision, he hardly ever said anything when we were playing good football and winning 9iar, but a slow start, out of champs league again and he's commenting in the papers. Don't think he's a happy chappy and one more bad result will see Lennon kicked out. DD will probably already have someone sounded out for the gig, Martin O'Neill?

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Sep 2020 10:19:24
As much as it's not clicking just now one result and Lennon is out us a bit harsh. We r all frustrated but we have lost one game against an average team who got lucky. let's not turn into sevco fans. There opinion on sloppy changes every week. Lenny wasnt my choice, wasnt most peoples choice, but has done a good job. His win percentage since he came back is incredible.

I genuinely canae see how Elyannoussi isnae a mainstay of this side. He's got so much to offer; and generally the stuff we're so obviously lacking.

Meanwhile, most of our attacking play goes through Taylor these days. nothing against him, but he is probably our weakest player.

I don't know what I'm advocating here, but I'd play our best players, in the formation that suits best, rather that a predetermined formation with whomever we can squeeze into the role.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

24 Sep 2020 23:31:57
On Sunday we could play a 4-4-2 with Taylor in his preferred left back especially with Hibs having pace on the wings.
Celtic would have better attacking options on the left with Elyounoussi.
The 2 central midfield slots would be Mcgregor and Ntcham/ Turnbull, with Christie playing right midfield.
Celtic have too many midfield options for Broony to be in the starting lineup.
The amount of bookings Scott is picking up shows he is getting slower in the tackle.
We only have 3 games to play before the Sevco game and the current set up is asking for trouble.
Starting from Sunday we need to replace Broony with a younger, faster and more energetic player. Hopefully it will happen and make a big difference going forward.

That was a poor performance again by the Celtic players.
I get the feeling the players are not playing for their manager.
The body language of a few players including Edouard and Forrest would suggest there’s something wrong behind the scenes.
It’s also been highlighted that certain players like Christie, Ajer and Ntcham want to leave the club.
There must be something quite not right because why would so many players want to leave Celtic with the chance to make history of 10 In A Row and 5 trebles in a row.
I wanted Lennon to be manager up until 10 In A Row was secured but a few regulars including Ed.007 predicted Lennon could lose the dressing room due to his marmite character.
Apart from the CL disaster, we have been fortunate to win as many games since the start of the season.
Our luck could run out soon if something isn’t sorted out behind the scenes.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

24 Sep 2020 21:27:27
Buzz, we could be in for a tough season. Broony is a legend but he is definitely off the pace. There are definitely a few players who want to leave and I suspect they won't be replaced if they go. Lennon doesn't seem to know how to handle the seemingly obvious cracks that are appearing. HH.

Agree2 Disagree0

24 Sep 2020 21:37:20
Totally agree, he seems to be out his depth tactically and has no idea what his best team is. Added to that our Captain's impact is waning and a few players are giving less than 100%, including Eddie. Something has to change.

Agree1 Disagree0

24 Sep 2020 21:38:42
We seem to be lacking a spark, it's not so good when Frimpong is our best attacking outlet.
We play a lot of games on tight pitches or even plastic pitches where the opposition sit deep and make things difficult for us, we should be used to it by now yet continually struggle to overcome it.
Whether it's the manager not being popular with the players or the players not understanding the manager's tactics the people above Lennon need to find out what's going on and do something to sort it out
I'm delighted with the result but I don't want to wait for a really damaging defeat before things get sorted out.

Agree3 Disagree0

24 Sep 2020 22:13:22
Lennon has to get this 4-2-3-1 system out his head. Its ineffective when teams pack midfield and drop back to defend.

Its got to be 3-5-2 or 4-4-2 for me.

We need a more natural lwb and Frimpong should be starting at rwb.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Sep 2020 22:24:59
Eddy, Ajer and nitcham and Christie are the same as most professional footballers, they are not nice people, they are in it for money.10 in a row means nothing to them, they have been agitating all summer with the exception of eddy who has behaved better than the others but has downed tools on the park.
That’s what is at the core of the problem and the manager has had to deal with that.
Christie’s father has been touting him around since June, Ajer has an agent who is a piece of s—-, nitcham wants to go back to France.
The real Celtic people in the squad will win the 10 for Celtic.
It’s not the manager we should be looking at but these prima donnas who are contributing nothing to Celtic. Sell them, get them out, they are rotten apples and the committed players are being dragged down by this.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Sep 2020 22:25:13
We could play a 4-4-2 Phil if Broony isn’t in the midfield.
I think playing 3-5-2 against good tactical teams is asking for trouble.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Sep 2020 22:49:31
Buzz I was very vocal about not bringing Lenny in full time and it was frowned upon on here and I'm yet to be convinced I was wrong we probably will go on to win the 10 but that is just papering over the cracks and allowing the board to justify their actions now I fully understand were a very well run club but we have no real ambition and for that reason I think we need a real clear out right from the too.

Agree1 Disagree0

25 Sep 2020 00:40:15

24 Sep 2020 21:07:07
Lennon has the tactical nouse of a lemmon.
He inherited a squad and style of the previous manager and the league won.
For the first months of last season he managed to stay in contention before the winter break when we changed formation and tactics. I am not sure this was Lennons or one of his Lieutenants.
As the opposition fell away we found the league cut short and we hoped we had found a system and style that would allow us to progress, instead he has regressed back to his old dreary slow easily defended system.

Great win away from home great substitute to have on the bench game changers. Frimpong and moi.
Most teams also in Scotland fully defend against us and don't do much makes the games demoralising to watch. But we prepare for hubs.
Glad Bitton getting a turn tough no messing sometimes to cool.
Just the midfield let's put broony on the bench on Saturday. Play
calmac entcham Turnbull
Bitton Duffy ajer.

Agree1 Disagree0

24 Sep 2020 22:26:43
Don't need a coaching badge to see that was utter celtic tank content. Getting results are one thing against lesser teams but you have to have the performance to go with it. Scrabbling on to win 1 nil against a top side we will always celebrate but it's not even the Riga team of note we played.

Frimpong the best player on the park and he was only on by accident. Taylor maybe a good defender and the jury is out on that point but he is not a wing back. Every pass is back the way. He does not commit to taking on the defending player and his crossing is poor at best.
The rest of the team were pedestrian and Eduard was nowhere near match sharp. Why leave out Ajeti when he is the form forward.
We are nowhere near being in the form we need to be in for upcoming games.
On a plus a wins a win.

Before the 'Lennonites' hit me with we won and we are through - Please admit, honestly that there is something wrong with our play.
Every team we have faced so far this season have been nowhere near our quality and resources, yet we fail to turn vast amounts of possession into chances - never mind goals. The midfield does not complement each other, the play is too slow and predictable; team selections are unbalanced and short of pace and we isolate our striker.
Most disappointing, is we should be a much better team to watch and enjoy, if players were played in their best position and formation.
I appreciate he has two players who may be on the move and others may come in? However, we can be a much better team than we are watching.

Frimpong's forced substitution when JF got injured got us out of jail.
Eddy has struggled for weeks and is either carrying a knock or badly needs a strike partner to share the load. Broony should not be starting EVERY game when we have so much talent - especially when he, Ntcham and Cal-Mac cannot function fully in the same midfield. It's so obvious to everyone except NL.

This season has seen convincing home wins against Reykjavic, Hamilton, Motherwell and Ross Cnty; but away from home (and obviously in European games) we seem to be a different side completely - even though we have the same players at our disposal, the same possession but not the confident performances to show for it and it's a worry.
OK we are through and a kick in the baws away from top spot in the SPL, but it's so frustrating when we all know what we can and should be doing going into October. Rant over.

For me McGregor, Brown and Ntcham do not work playing together. Its got to be a combination of 2 of the 3.

Lately there seems more teams packing defence anytime we play them. In my opinion Turnbull needs to be playing more, he can score from outside the box and I think he is going to be a key player for us this season.

There are more questions than answers after that performance.
What has happened to eddy?
Has duffy made the defence stronger? is he better suited to a 4 at the back?
Is brown a first choice anymore?
Where exactly was McGregor playing?
Its been a strange start to the season. But something isn't right.

Think they've relied on the same players all of the time and scared to change. The team looks like it either needs a reset or a boot up the backside. Lennon is terrified I think and he needs to loosen up. Wouldn't like to be in his or Slippy's shoes whoever doesn't win the league this season.

We talk about urgency, and strong mentality, and hunger and pride. let's see how many run through brick walls 2nd half and how many " hide"

I hope we get there.

It would be good to see us flex and snarl and dominate.

Who'd have guessed Lennon would wait until 70 mins to make a substitution even though we've had about 70% position but have created little?
This team are poor and are making us look good. They are offering absolutely no threat so why play 1 up front for so long? Eddy has done nothing and is tracking back to try and get the ball now which shows how frustration.
I still think we'll go though as this team are offering little going forward!

Pkay like that against hibs we will get beat. Although at least hibs come out. It was a sticky bobbly pitch not designed for football. We kept at it and got through. As has been said countless times taylor is not a wing back. If we are going to play this system we need someone who can go at defenders. Good old Johnny hayes would be better!

Agree1 Disagree0

24 Sep 2020 20:25:12
Fifer, you're surely not making excuses for that dross tonight in stating they didn't come out and that the pitch was poor?
Yeh we kept at it and Ajeti almost scored with his first attempt and the goal threat was there straight away and that had been missing all night despite out superior possession. I'm really not getting this leaving it till 70 minutes to make a substitution when it's clear what needs done and still playing 1 up front against that team and in the SPL.
We got through to the next round and for the prize money on offer I couldn't have cared less if we went out if it meant changes for the better and let us concentrate on securing the league as we're going nowhere in Europe!

24 Sep 2020 21:35:45
Shouldn't have been any need for a substitution, if Lenny had picked the right team at the start, I have always wanted for Lenny to succeed, but enoughs, enough, he keeps making these bonkers team selections, The rangers, Cluj, Ferencvaros, tonight, if he is not picking the wrong players, he is picking the right ones and playing them out of position, for whatever reason.

My theory (please shoot me down if you feel the need) is we're being careful with him and getting ready to sell. If they sell Morelos and/ or Kent I reckon our board will conclude we don't actually need Eddy to win the league and we'll cash in on him now.
Just my opinion.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Sep 2020 11:44:15
If that mob sell Morelos and Kent they'll have a bit of money and who they bring in for that money could galvanize an already rubbish team. It's up to us to continue winning and it's up to them to stop us, but even if we end up selling Ajer, Eddy or Ntcham we always need to be one step ahead of them. As I said before, the January transfer window could be key in all of this and we would need to have some money available while they've spent theirs. We cannot be complacent this year of any, and all it takes is one helluva focussed other mob to give us a fright. They'll see the four old firm games as definitely must win games.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Sep 2020 11:58:38
Stengo they've already spent the Morelos money. If Kent goes they'll only make a small profit given what they still owe Liverpool and the sell on clause. Enough to keep the lights on a bit longer.

New statistics on James Forrest are suggesting he has not received the same service when Celtic play a 3-5-2 formation as last season.
In the last campaign Forrest received the ball on average 39 times per game and this term only 23 times per game.
Lack of service has affected his crossing considerably.
His crossing accuracy last season in a 3-5-2 was 38% and this season his crossing accuracy is a very poor 14%.
That’s why the assist king hasn’t had an assist so far this season.
Strangely though his dribbling percentage is up from last season.
It’s just his final ball that’s letting him down this early on in the season.

Suppose it doesn't help when he has had to slot-in at left back and he has accommodated Frimpong a couple of times as well. Early doors though and when we do settle on our best team and formation, he will reach the form and consistency that provides many goals and assists.

What's the craic with Elyounoussi? I was really excited when he joined and again when his loan was extended for a 2nd season. But he can't seem to get in the team and the times he has played hasn't made any real impact. Is he just another overrated EPL player or is he not suited to us?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

24 Sep 2020 08:54:15
I think he's a decent enough player, but like one or two others is still finding his best form; plus, finding a system that gets the best out of him - without rearranging half the team is difficult.
I've read he had a very good partnership with Ajeti at Basel, but that is very unlikely with Eddy as our number one striker, so he has to play on the left or in competition to Christie as a number 10.
With the amount of games we will play and the increased substitutions I'm sure he will still have plenty to offer and there are others in the same boat who have to bide their time, so it's not too bad.
