NTCHAM ROGIC

AJETI

Christie RW
Elyo LW

Rogic and Ntcham ahead of McGregor
(I don't see why we need two holding midfielders tomorrow)

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Oct 2020 19:37:06
Move moi to a front 3 and replace ntcham with Turnbull beside McGregor and Rogic. Play a 4-3-3.

Agree2 Disagree0

24 Oct 2020 20:02:02
Shammy, are you having a laugh? Ntcham is a waste of a jersey! As is MOI!

Agree2 Disagree0

24 Oct 2020 20:18:48
I thought Ntcham played very well the other night as did MOI when he was moved wide left.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - As did McGregor took over the Brown role as a deep-lying playmaker.}

24 Oct 2020 20:24:40
I would have Christie and Moi as the 2 behind Ajeti both as CAM while pushing out wide to offer some width. Other than that I'd start Turnbull over Ntcham but that's the formation I've hoped we would deploy seeing as we are short of future strikers.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Oct 2020 20:56:18
Me and mate were talking about

Ajeti up top
Rogic as a 10 in behind
Moi left
Christie right
McGregor and brown centre mids rotating defensive holding position

Ajer cb
Duffy cb
Frimpong rb
Lexalt lb

Barkas

The only issue was frimpomg as he ain't a right back but of Christie plays as a ACM . then we have no right sided midfielder and then you are back to a 3 again .

The other option is welsh at right back and drop Frimpong.

{Ed007's Note - Woah hold it - you've got a mate? There's hope for me yet I guess. 😉

There were some green shoots of recovery against Milan, especially second half. Lennon needs to look at the difference between the two halves and question why that was? Who went off and who came on etc and act accordingly - no old pals act.

For me it's about energy, attitude and organisation - we haven't been showing it by and large and I have a nagging worry that the improved performance against Milan was no more than the lure of the shop window for some. I hope I'm wrong and tomorrow will let us know the answer to that. IMHO we have the better players individually but our neighbours over the road have the trinity above over us in spades at the moment. There is no point having a Ferrari if it refuses to pass 50MPH.

I like Lennon but it's apparent that he hasn't the tools to sustain a successful managerial career. In my opinion he was benefitting from the methods of the previous incumbent but the legacy left to him has slowly been degraded through time to a place where we find ourselves traversing today. That is to say more his team, his tactics his training methods and his team selections. I've no doubt at all that he is trying like a bear (pardon the expression) and is hurting like the rest of us but the phrase " you can't put in what God left out" is becoming more and more apparent.

As it stands we have lost nothing more than one game against them, we are only 1pt behind. We still have the destiny of all the trophies in our own hands. The time for panic is not now but the time for a radical change in the trinity is now. Over to you, Lennon, if you can?

Later Champions.

Lennon has won more as a manager than gerrard ever will. All this talk of him being hopeless and has lost the dressing room is just nonsense.

Agree1 Disagree0

24 Oct 2020 19:24:06
Tomorrow we will know if the players have grit for Lennon which I am sure they have . Looking for an aggressive start from the off tomorrow because that’s what we will be meet with that’s for sure with plenty of balls punted into our box .

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Oct 2020 19:58:37
LAW how do you explain us being beaten in the last 2 games and dominated in the last 3 against slippy despite having a far superior squad if it isn't down to tic tacs.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Oct 2020 20:57:20
Paythefacepainter he cant.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Oct 2020 22:45:05
@Paythefacepainter

Let's take it one game at a time.

The League Cup final we were missing our main right back El Hamed and no strikers as we played Lewis Morgan up front. Add to that the players looked knackered.

The new year game we had just played 5 games in 15 days and looked absolutely knackered.

Recent match, we had 5 key players out and only fully fit striker was someone who is 4th choice.

Don't get me wrong, I do think Lennon made mistakes with tactics and team selections as well but that does not make him clueless.

If he is so clueless how come we have had massive results in Europe under him? How come we have won so many trophies with him at the helm?

If players are not playing for him and there has been a fall out then how do you explain our come back after new year last season? How do you explain that we are potentially only 1 point behind Rangers if we win our game in hand, despite them being such an amazing team (allegedly) who are on amazing form?

I am not saying we have been great this season as I know that is not the case but we have had a lot of key players out and have not had many games with a full strength defence, add to that the fact we have been impacted with C.V. on two occassions. I am confident that we will bounce back and clean the floor with Rangers once we have our team full fit and everyone to chose from.

LAW - you sound like Neil himself excuses!

Lennon is hopeless.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Oct 2020 01:04:19
If he is so hopeless how come he has won us so many trophies and got us some great results in Europe as well?

Don't get me wrong he is not without fault and there are things that annoy me about him.

And people are saying NL has lost it?
What he has lost, is half his team due to C.V. and injury.

Agree1 Disagree0

24 Oct 2020 20:08:20
We have the biggest and best squad in the country and are still able to field a very strong side with a decent bench.
This isn't about two bad defeats at home.
The questions about unsettled players, dressing room bust-ups, tactics, formations, substitutions and poor performances started way before these injuries and forced absences.
The two consecutive games with Aberdeen give the manager and players a chance to jump-start the campaign and show a statement on intent?

I have finally become a "modern man" and cast aside my male chauvinism (well as long as the female jockeys I back keep winning lol)
Last week it was Hollie Doyle who saved my bacon after paying out my ex bears and kept Mrs T from banishing me to shed lol
Today good old Briony Frost and even older mud loving horse Frodon kept me in profit
So have I just become an expert tipster overnight, NAH, my girls kept nagging me to place a bet on these female jockeys and I succumbed to their nagging, er listened to their sage advice, cough
Now only problem is they both want a share of my winnings groan.

Was talking to my cousin today who's a Motherwell season ticket holder about Turnbull. He says he's not a number 10 and that he can play as a 6 or 8 Or either side of that. also said he reminds him of John Collins . Just passing on a bit of info about him 👍 hopefully pump the sheep tomorrow and get the season going 🍀.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

I was thinking phil o'Donnell. either that or John Collins. both brilliant.

Would love to see a middle field 3 of McGregor, Turnbull and Rogic. Front 3 of Christie, Ajeti and Frimpong.

24 Oct 2020 17:05:26
He must be better than Ntcham has been; don't know what the bhoy needs to do to get a game? Wait for an injury or suspension.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Oct 2020 17:13:13
If we’re playing Turnbull in the wrong position maybe it’s worth a try playing McGregor in front of Turnbull.

Agree1 Disagree0

24 Oct 2020 17:42:50
Kipper. steady. there’s not many Paul McStay’s about. Although I did describe his through ball for the goal the other week as McStayesque. Legend and as hard as nails too. 👍.

My team for tomorrow would be

Barkas / Bain no preference

Ralston Ajer Duffy Taylor Proper full back staying deep and narrow

Frimpong CalMac Christie Laxalt
push the wide men forward and play long

Ajieti and Griffiths up top.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

24 Oct 2020 13:42:44
Ralston? On what basis?

Frimpong hasn't earned a place in team on recent performances. For me Soro deserves a chance with Turnbull. So midfield 4 of
Christie, calmac soro and Turnbull. Soro sitting deep and the other 3 given free reign. Energy and goals in them, unlike playing with Brown and Calmac sitting and Ntcham doing nothing.

Agree1 Disagree0

24 Oct 2020 13:58:46
I would play a 4-1-4-1 formation
Barkas
Frimpong. Duffy. Ajer. Laxalt
McGregor
Christie. Rogic. Turnbull. Elyounoussi
Ajeti
We need to stay clear of playing 4th choice right backs,6th choice CB and 5th choice striker ( Elyounoussi)

Agree1 Disagree0

24 Oct 2020 14:59:43
Seen Ralston's name mentioned a few times recently. Lad is nowhere near good enough for our squad never mind the 1st 11. Personally go with a 433 with pace to hit them fast on the counter.

Barkas

Ajer
Welsh
Duffy
Taylor

Brown
McGregor
Christie

Laxalt
Frimpong

Griffiths.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Oct 2020 15:56:40
Buzz bomb . loving that ream

Albeit when all fit . elhamed for frimpomg

Eddy for ajeti.

Agree1 Disagree0

24 Oct 2020 15:58:51
Interesting big bubs

Aberdeen are physical and so I expect to see brown and Ajer and walsh and so that would work

Ajer also scored from RBS a wee while ago up there

This could work as middle 2 CBs only need to be CBs . no fuss.

Agree1 Disagree0

24 Oct 2020 16:36:03
Soro might be pish and that's why he's not playing? Away to the sheep in our present run of form isn't an ideal time/ game for finding out ifsomebody is good bad or indifferent.

Agree2 Disagree0

24 Oct 2020 17:07:02
I think Lenny is that stubborn about that formation Buzz as that was the formation Brendan used after that half season Lenny came in he started to change the formation and IMO we started to gradually get worse and worse as the time went on.

Agree1 Disagree0

24 Oct 2020 17:10:27
And I agree about Elyounoussi far better wide not a striker but a good player wide but Lenny has him as striker when we have some on the bench.

Agree2 Disagree0

24 Oct 2020 13:21:05
Did you see Celtic commissioned a survey of season ticket holders to gauge opinion as to whether we'd wish to return to the stadium with the appropriate safety measures in place with a view to presenting the report to the Scottish Government. The overwhelming response was yes.

St. Mirren’s last league game was on October 2nd and they won't play another league game until November 6th.
The SFA picked a good weekend for our Semi Final because I think the St. Mirren game would’ve been cancelled.

Teàm for tomoŕrow barkas Welsh Duffy ajer laxalt. brown McGregor. Christie. ajeti. Frimpong. Moi
Although ad be tempted to throw rogic in after his cameo on Thurs and give him 60 mins.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

24 Oct 2020 12:06:52
I would definitely put rogic in mally. If we can get an hour out of him then play him. I rather see us start guys and if they are spent change them rather than giving them 15 or 20 mins to save a game. We need someone who has an eye for a killer pass.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Oct 2020 12:42:40
Totally ter the few wee glimpses we've seen recently he's looked good he's got a bit more guile and ability than Christie although he doesn't have his engine.60 mins and change him.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Oct 2020 13:08:21
Has everybody forgot why rogic hasn't been playing?

Agree1 Disagree0

24 Oct 2020 14:28:34
He's been injured and his record at Aberdeen is pretty decent. we need a spark so why not ad also consider turnbull but lenny will play ntcham as per.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Oct 2020 15:01:13
Absence makes the heart grow fonder when it comes to Rogic. Everyone remembers the handful of good games he's had in the last few years and not the majority spent contributing nothing.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Oct 2020 17:08:59
Well unfortunately there are a few players out there at the minute contributing little to nothing. What harm can it do to start him and see. He looked decent when he came on the other nite. Or do we stick to the same as we have at the min!

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Oct 2020 09:49:12
To play a 3 at the back your cbs have to be excellent on the ball and have ours don't. your wbs have to be good going forward and able to defend frimpong is neither and Diego looks the part. uf your constantly giving the ball away and Duffy is the main culprit then it won't work. get back to a 4 a solid midfield and get a settled strike force time to step up Celtic or forget the 10.

24 Oct 2020 00:10:46
Hopefully Lenny is now going to go back to the 4231/ 433 that has served us so well the past 5 seasons.

The worry for me is that we signed players to fit into a 352 e. g. Duffy Ajeti etc. If we play a 4231 he needa to try and get 4 strikers happy, tough ask. I was thinking since we are short on wingers he might play eddy on the left and moi on the right with ajeti up front. Going to be interesting to see how it pans out.

Any update on when Forrest and Johnstone are back. They are our only other wingers.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

24 Oct 2020 01:41:09
Need to go back to a 4 until team start to play with confidence, start to get the basics right. then switch between formations depending on opposition.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Oct 2020 03:22:51
Mickey Johnstone is back full training not sure about the flasher . Once wee get a full squad it will start clicking. Let start By kicking it into gear Sunday and I think wee will. Forrest has been massively missed no doubt .

24 Oct 2020 09:47:34
Well duff and Phelps the impact it had against Milan was clear to see. The tempo increased big time and we looked much smoother. The ball and players moved quicker as a result too allowing us put them under pressure and create chances. Something we have not done for a while. Surely Lennon has to see that too.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Oct 2020 11:29:25
Duff and phelps was it necessary to mention James Forrest as the flasher, way below the belt in my opinion .
