Use our rumours form to send us celtic transfer rumours.

24 Nov 2016 19:55:28
Beer sheva pumping inter 3-2 and the sevco fans slagged us for struggling against them.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

The idea of that zombie clubs fans slagging anyone is laughable. Any fans idolising ex league 2 dross like Josh Windass and Matt Crooks should be keeping a (ahem) dignified silence. Roll on Hogmany when we put them in their place once again. HAIL HAIL.

@mallythetally - aye they've totally ripped that group apart? 3 - 2 against 10 men and one of the worst Inter teams in years and will probably finish 3rd. Great benchmark for celtic to aspire too.

@ union jack! This coming from a fan who's team took how many years to win the petrol station cup? Who's budget was more than all the teams in each division put together? This season was all about getting there and gaining the riches. How is # going for55 working out?

25 Nov 2016 13:22:25
Union joke are u serious your 4 year old club can only dream of playing at that level never mind beating a club the size of inter with all there resources ten men or not, have a word way yerself.

25 Nov 2016 15:13:52
@mallythetally and delbhoy1888 - Settle down! The original OP had nothing to do with Rangers performance but the comparison of how great Celtic are due to another teams performance against a bang average Inter side and who in all likelihood are not going to qualify for the next round. Are you therefore saying Sparta Prague who romped the group are a European heavyweight?

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Nov 2016 15:15:19
@mallythewally - it's UnionJack๐Ÿ˜‰.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Nov 2016 19:39:21
Jack by no means are Inter a great side at the moment but still a euro heavyweight and proud HISTORY (remember that word) .
You CHOOSE to call them bang average, so if that's the marker u choose, how would you describe your own team?

Agree0 Disagree1

25 Nov 2016 23:34:36
@rayman99 - I hate having to repeat myself but the OP wasn't discussing the quality of Rangers but how great Celtic are due to another clubs performance against a former top side.
Since you've asked I'll be polite enough to answer and say Rangers like all the other Scottish sides ( apart from Celtic, the slayers of the mighty Beer Sheva ) would struggle in the qualifying rounds.

26 Nov 2016 00:26:03
Union Jack I would advise you to post often about Rangers now, when they are still alive . Liquidation may not be far away.

Agree0 Disagree1

26 Nov 2016 03:19:03
So what will the new clubs coefficient be? That is if they qualify for Europe, its a big IF as top 6 will be an achievement for first time in the SPFL.

Agree0 Disagree1

26 Nov 2016 09:40:52
@oldbhoy - Every November since 2012, Celtic fans repeatedly mention liquidation. I'm still waiting. Pretty similar to their desperation to win the treble in the same period or go through the league campaign umbeaten - I'm still waiting.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Nov 2016 09:58:26
@kwaj - If Rangers qualify for Europe the only coefficient points they will have under current rules are 20% of those earned by the national team and a teams last 5 years performance in all European competitions. This would put us on a par with what Hibs etc have.
As we are currently 3rd in the SPFL there is a good chance we'll make it. Next 4 games will give us a better indication ( Glasgow derby, twice against Jambo's and the sheeps in between ) .

What a surprise, another tribute act supporter just making up what they want to! where in mally post did he say they'd ripped the group apart? They've beaten inter home and away! And no matter how strong this inter team is they'r still full of international players! Really does make me laugh when a sevco fan has the audacity to mention European football! U couldn't mask it up! Considering the wee diddy team that is beer sheeva would wipe the floor with scotlands newest club!

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Nov 2016 17:19:23
@wiss81 - beating Inter home and away means nothing if they don't qualify. Re-read the thread. The OP was saying how good they are - I disagree.
P. S. You are also guilty of making stuff up by suggesting they would destroy Rangers when you have zero evidence to back this up.

Just a small thing on Neymar, the judge in his case of fraud/ tax evasion with regards to his transfer from santos, yesterday asked for a2 year sentence to be given to him. I thought. He was a real rubbish yesterday, but this maybe ha de some baring on his attitude, I am only saying because he is regarded a one of the gentlemen of la Liga, never complains just gets on with everything and gives 100%,

He's a player with ability but is a little scumbag. Not an honest bone in his body on the pitch or of it.

I hope he gets the jail and has to share a cell with a 14 stone guy who is rather "fond" of him.

Read a translation of Spanish article slagging Brown off. Said he, "lives in a loop of aggression". I personally thought he had the game of his life last night. He was truly immense. While we do need new blood to take us to the next level, he is definitely capable of playing among and captaining any upper tier players.

Believable5 Unbelievable2

24 Nov 2016 17:46:22
Daviebhoy, I think, maybe Scot Brown did take a wee bit of a break last season to prepare himself for this season . He has been truly amazing and very often the best player on the field . You would have thought last night he was playing summer football with his arms so different from he rest on the park. Brilliant captain .

Thoughts from Airdrie by the Sea after being at the game last night. Always had a bit of respect for Barcelona which to a large extent was lost last night. Thoughts [1] Naymar is a prize fud and he should have been passed on from Lustig to Brown or A. N. other to be officially welcomed to Glasgow [2]Gnasher conned the referee for the penalty-it wasn't and you tell from the referees body language he knew it. Messi didn't even celebrate [3] They were cynical and well up for taking out a Celtic player and accepting a yellow card when required. Centre half [blonde]was an arsehole [4]when you're that good you shouldn't need to cheat and that's what it was [5] Celtic played very well and on another night could have got something [6] there were a few dodgy refereeing decisions ie. off-sides etc. [7] Brown was immense [8] Gordon is a seriously not too bad keeper [9] Naymar shat it when he saw Gordon coming off his line he must have seen the alloa game [10] Sinclair was a big loss [11] If or when they win CL the cup should be engraved with an asterisk to denote cheating b******ds.

JFP1888: add to that, Neymar and ratackic ( spelling ) for yellows intentionally along with the tackle on Sinky, that should have been a Red card for a Professional foul. As you said at the top, I lost a lot of respect for Barcelona last night too. Good teams know how to win at all costs, Great teams win the right way.

24 Nov 2016 16:45:40
Totally agree, Neymar showed no respect at all and basically wanted to come off. That said, his ball for the first goal was sublime. But if you can play like that, why be fud? Poor show.

Barcelona can play football, there is no doubt about that . Wrong things happened last night . Firstly whoever was the idiot that decided to welcome them to stadium with a band . Way over the top, giving them sense of superiority . Referee seemed to show he had met his all time idol when he met Messi . I thought it was a bookable offence to seek a yellow card for an opponent . Neymar was a hateful shoite the last time he was at Celtic Park . He hasn't changed . In fact quite a few of his colleagues are very nasty snide footballers and will foul in any manner they can if someone pasts them. Maybe they do pre- season training in Argentina .

Barca tactical bookings mis last game, a dead rubber, and clean slate for knock out, raticic and netmar.

Not on last night alone but imo Rogic biton roberts mgregor all too slow for top euro games all have attributes but in the team / game 4 is too many too carry against top teams. also unless armstrong/ forrest can learn to find a team mate with their final ball or stop losing it in possession they too fall short . along with the goalie who can make great saves at times is almost half the game squad just falling short . all good spl players and possibly hold their own against lower euro teams . but for either europa or cl we need an injection of quality.

I think a good creative midfield player would enhance the players around him, is a pity LG was unavailable last night. think he would have been a better pick than McGregor, maybe this American guy will be the answer, I wouldn't write Roberts off, he is only young,

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Nov 2016 15:03:28
Not writing him off. skillfull but I think when he gets the ball a lot of the time the momentum goes out of the movement he never runs by players. he faces them up before he commits which is good I suppose. but gives defenders (especially good ones) behind a chance to adjust. its just we have too many slower mids .

24 Nov 2016 18:11:00
Do we always have to pick on Forrest, he had a good second half and even I can clearly remember him putting the ball on Dembele's head . I doubt if Robert ever comes to much . Far too light weight needs to work on upper body strength and become harder to read . Too much of a one trick pony . One of the few in our squad who has regressed since last season . Armstrong could become a good utility or squad player, needs to improve if he is to become a first choice player in an improved midfield . But he works exceptionally hard . Rogic probably isn't good enough to play all the time . Young McGregor shows promise, although he is 23-24 I think he can improve as he seems to be learning all the time.

I was impressed by how well we passed the ball at times last night, it was night and day compared to the away game when the players seemed frightened to get on the ball. I'd say last night showed there's been definite progress from the first game and that's encouraging. Maybe in a different group we might have managed some form of European football after Christmas but at least after this setback the fans remain full of hope and optimism that we'll kick on whereas last season it was mostly dread and fearing the same again next time.

Kerb hoy, in a way our performances in the group this season, may work out brilliantly in the short& medium time . Brendan Rodgers has shown he is a good manager& if he is given a chance he will bring us to near the top. If we had performed brilliantly, and qualified the board may have felt Brendan could continue making miracles and didn't need much money spent .
Now with 2/ 3 players around the centre of the field we should be improving.

Wee bit of perspective in order i reckon i didn't expect us to do much against one of the worlds best club sides but to know we not at their level is no bad thing especially when i think back to 2 buns in my work talking about last season when they got pumped oot league cup by st johnstone their excuse was they weren't ready! Still enjoyed the game tonite.

No one likes losing but we're playing against the best team in the world, who can spend ยฃ75mil on one player! There's been a lot of positives n I think we'l reap the benefits next season. I know izzy was at fault but look who he's up against! I still enjoyed the game, I thought brown was immense, I thought he was done, but he's been fantastic!

Steviebhoy . Izzy was one of our best players in the first half but he was conned and cheated by low life from Sout America who created the penalty and Izzy bought it . I am not sure how Izzy could have avoided getting caught up with his arm wrapped inside and trapped inside Suarez' s rm

We have similar situations recently in Gaelic Footballer when the player with the ball traps an opponent's arm under his and makes his way to the ground and inevitably cons the referee.
