Use our rumours form to send us celtic transfer rumours.

Ed what's your thoughts on the transfer window so far?
Are we stronger with the new striker and possibly the new midfielder?
Or are we beefing up the squad without any players ready made players to walk into the starting 11.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - As usual when it comes to Celtic transfer windows it's a mixed bag for me, fans and more importantly the manager wanted players in earlier than has happened but to be fair that's not always the Club's - or Lawwell's - fault. Signing Klimala and having LG back gives us both quality & competition up front and Soro looks like he could be a player and add another dimension to the midfield area. We still need someone who can play or at least cover Elyounoussi on the left, maybe even someone who will replace Elyounoussi if we can't sign him permanently in the summer and we need another CB in the door too, especially if NL's going to go with 3 at the back as Simunovic can't be relied upon and the jury's still out on Elhamed regarding him being able to stay fit.
We've not really weakened the squad imo as Sinclair wasn't getting any game time and getting his wages off the books is a bonus, Hendry, Morgan, Kouassi and Bayo are/were also offering nothing and are/will be no great loss either.
Overall so far I'd say we're slightly stronger than we were as we haven't lost any proper first team players and added to the striker & midfield areas.
I expect there will be more players brought in - and probably some more exits - and we will have a stronger squad than we had 3 weeks ago.}

24 Jan 2020 20:43:03
Is Bayo definitely for the off in this window then Ed? Possible loan or are we keen to move him on completely like a loan with option to buy at the end of it?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Well he's asked to be loaned out and if it's loan to buy that's a bonus. He's awful and would never have been signed if it wasn't for Toure supposedly mentoring him, I wonder if he made any £ out of it?}

24 Jan 2020 20:44:47
Having missed so much of the season, you could argue that a fit elhamd and moi are like 2 new signings.
Yes agreed a CB is required along with a sprinkle of magic in the forward area and more importantly everyone staying fit and I think we are looking really strong.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I'd argue that a fit Elhamed would be miraculous.}

25 Jan 2020 08:31:42
As Lennon said yesterday press conference he definitely wants a winger but if anything else comes up and they can do it they will to me going by that means he’s not fussed at all happy with what he’s got but i do hope that if any cure ball gets thrown at the club that they will be able to act appropriately to counter that.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Jan 2020 22:09:56
We can always sell him to Leicester if Toure liked him so much. I hear they're looking for a backup to Vardy anyway so it's a win win 😉.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Maybe the rumours of them bidding £30 million for Eddy in the summer are wide of the mark and it's actually Bayo they want 😁

25 Jan 2020 00:53:22
Ed007, your summary above is spot on. I guess that's why you're respected as you are . even if your dug can't do a proper sh*te. lol HH.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Lol thankfully he's back to normal and mow I'm in hock to his gran for £520 because of the wee fecker!}

24 Jan 2020 19:01:25
Just seen something on tv about Saracens being demoted for breaking rules. Can anyone clarify if it's the club or the company that's taking the hit 😳?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

24 Jan 2020 20:44:46
I can't. but I can confirm they're relegated and definitely still the same entity unlike the cheating Hun **** that got liquidated.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Jan 2020 23:59:52
Saracens are being relegated at the end of the season. They were deducted point at the start of the season something like 12 or 15 pts. It is due to them breaking the salary cap in the rugby premiership. The owner used different ways to pay players huge wages while not declaring them correctly under the RFU rules. Remind u of any club!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - yes Derby County.}

25 Jan 2020 06:43:49
Unrelated but another rugby club celebrated making profit of £600k but seemed totally oblivious to the irony that they also had £4million of loans written off by shareholders.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - you clearly don't understand business if you think that is irony or something to be oblivious about, especially in sport.}

25 Jan 2020 09:21:46
Nice to have your contribution ed 001.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - just pointing out it is normal mate. They all do it. It is a way of an owner buying a club over a period of time to enable the company to stay in profit. They gradually convert the loans into shares over time, usually. It also helps the owners to keep the fans onside in a sticky patch by announcing another tranche of the loan converted to shares, as if they are doing the club a favour. It is usually the loan they took out to buy the club in the first place that is being converted to shares anyway!}

25 Jan 2020 09:39:32
I thought in business the shareholder aims to get maximum profit for their investment. Now in local sport there's always folks that fund their clubs-trustees and members who just keep dipping their hand in the pocket to keep the club afloat. My point, which you may or may not have picked up on, is that the club has spent in excess of £3million more than it generated resulting in loans of over £4million being written off.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I get it, most sports clubs are losing money. There are only a very small percentage that don't. That is why clubs used to (and still do in Germany and Spain) via a membership scheme, with members (ie fans) paying a regular fee to become members of that sports club. That, along with gate receipts, used to be how football clubs and the like got their funding. Very few sports clubs will ever make a profit.}

24 Jan 2020 18:01:43
Lennon saying transfer wise he wants a winger in was asked any other area? Not really he says but last week and still plenty of time there might be a cure ball throwing in there if right something might happen. He was asked then if any cure ball has been thrown in there yet he laughed said not at the moment and said that was a good question. Is Forrest in the squad for morra?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

24 Jan 2020 18:34:17
If he's going to play 352 we need another defender.

Agree1 Disagree0

24 Jan 2020 20:45:44
Strange how they haven't spoken to the Brazilian lad seeing as he'll practically cost us nothing.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Jan 2020 16:20:56
I’m usually not one for daft signings there’s talk of Martin Boyle signing but we need a striker that can score goals up here, Hearts have made an offer for Liam Boyce surely we should be interested in him we know he can score goals in this league and with the amount of chances we create he could get a few goals .

Believable0 Unbelievable0

24 Jan 2020 17:23:01
Naw and thrice naw.

Frimpong our fir morra no surprise there after what he took. Speedy recovery Frimpong. Team for morra could see a return to 4 at the back with Diamond 4-4-2 with Maybe Ajer at RB so team maybe

Forster
Ajer
Jozo
Jullien
Taylor
Brown
Ntcham
McGregor
Rogic
Griff
Edouard.

24 Jan 2020 19:03:45
I quite liked the diamond when we played it the other night.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Jan 2020 20:35:43
If we are going to play 4 at the back why not just play the fit right back instead of breaking up our CB partnership?

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Jan 2020 20:57:02
Stick with the 3-5-2.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Jan 2020 16:07:11
Can anyone explain to this Tim why the Compliance Officer is not looking at that tackle on young Frimpong, it was dangerous and could have caused serious injury, and with the referee, as usual, not taking any action, surely this is when the CO should get involved.
By the way, I blame our Board as well, how many bad tackles over the season have these shower of feffin refs looked the other way when bad lunges are perpetrated on Celtic players, over at Sevco they would release multiple statements about the injustice of it all, but Lawwell and our board stay silent.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

24 Jan 2020 16:38:49
Keep saying similar Tim; the blind-eyes that are turned every single game and only Broony seems to actually react (and leave himself open to repercussion) . Very little from NL and heehaw from our CE.
On the other hand there is 'Hue and Cry' from the manky mob if a referee denies them one decision or upsets them in any way.
The biased media and certain pundits should also be challenged on any treatment and opinions that are purely personal, yet very detrimental to our club, players and support.

Agree2 Disagree0

24 Jan 2020 16:59:12
We are becoming a nation of fairies
Your defender has to make that challenge the ball was there to be won. I thought it was a fair challenge and ad be happy if it was 1 of our own making it! It’s getting embarrassing moaning about players making gestures, fans singing songs, no heading footballs.

Agree3 Disagree0

24 Jan 2020 17:50:53
I've said it before it was a solid tackle. We'd be cheering if Brown done it.

Agree1 Disagree0

24 Jan 2020 19:05:14
I will explain it tim.
It wasnt even a foul.

24 Jan 2020 19:31:15
See if that was by one of our bhoys I’d be applauding the tackle blinkers off please bhoys.

I heard on the news that going to football is bad for giving heart attacks, your blood pressure gets raised with all the excitement, well the doctor said maybe they should try playing nice soothing music, she thinks it's worth a try, . I had a wee chuckle when she said that, because she was serious.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Jan 2020 20:38:11
That will be the rebs out the window then aindoh.

Big Simo on Miller, was far worse that what young Frimpong received, it was a fair enough challenge for me.

I don't know, I always found Boolavogue quite soothing.

23 Jan 2020 22:28:12
Ed007, I know Soro has passed a medical and agreed personal terms but has he actually signed a contract yet? If not then technically he isn't our player and another team could come in for him. HH.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - The hold up is waiting for a work permit to be granted, there will probably be a signed contract with clause in it saying dependent on a work permit being granted.}

24 Jan 2020 14:02:36
Lennon said today he was due tomorrow but there's been a hold up on paper work. Due in early next week.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Jan 2020 14:51:14
and now you know why Celtic try and keep things internally as foreign deals take time and can be complicated.
maybe now some fans can see the big picture rather than keep moaning about how celtic go about there business. its also gd tv media business to try and get the best payers from all over the world.

Ed007, dunno if you can shed any light on this but Rab Douglas is claiming to have a tape recording of a conversation he had with John 'Sevvy' Brown after the latter booted Douglas out of the Dundee team. Apparently Brown let himself down big time. Any idea what it's about? HH.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I've no idea mate but I remember the story from a few years back. After this length of time I doubt anyone would really care considering that there's not much Brown could do to make himself look any more of d1ck than he does..}

24 Jan 2020 11:55:15
According to Douglas it was very nasty and he's gonnae share it soon. HH.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Are you sure he's said that recently? I can't see anything on social media or that.}

24 Jan 2020 12:33:24
I seen him do an interview said something similar but it was away last year. Think he's saving it for a book.

We slag of more or less for his gesture but accept LG making a gesture was justified.
Sorry, seems double standards to me.
Both players should rise above the rubbish.
No doubt, Boyd is a ****er of the highest order and should be banned from CP.
LG just gave the twat more ammo and possibly could yet incur punishment (which we do not need right now)
You may disagree but once again we are giving all those against us more excuses to help stop 10 iar
Maybe in 3 weeks time we will find out that The ref gave a yellow card in the dressing room. The fact that both teams had left when it happened is irrelevant.

24 Jan 2020 12:20:41
What gesture did griff do except tell the fat one to be quiet.

Some of us seen nothing in the Morelos gesture or Griffs. Some people need to just chill.

Agree2 Disagree0

24 Jan 2020 13:08:24
So any time a player scores and cups his ear to opposing fans, that’s now an offence. Dear oh dear, reckon PC nuts have taken over. Let’s get to the point, all this rubbish is being slavered over to make a pathetic attempt at justification for the two orcs. If the ARSE that is the SFA had done their job and gave both a one match ban for inflammatory gestures, it would be more or less over with (apart from Sevco, s calls for a judicial enquiry) .
What irritates most is that Christie got a three match ban for feck all and and it took 3 weeks for a crap excuse to surface to justify the other.

Agree1 Disagree0

24 Jan 2020 19:37:05
I loved what wee griff done the other night same as when we were at ibrokes. On the same hand don’t give a toss about Morelos at our place enjoy it when it’s our lot and take it on the chin when it’s them or anyone else. If a gesture upsets you so much your watching the wrong game.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Jan 2020 00:25:38
Boyd was,
A . Out of order
B. Factually incorrect
C. Shown to be what he is - sorry Ed has to be said in no uncertain terms, a bitter Hun.

Ban him now? Yes/ No?

LG was IMO totally justified in his actions. Talk is cheap.

#itwillbe10.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

24 Jan 2020 12:46:31
Griff was behind Dembele. Understandable. Behind Edouard. Understandable. He's had personal issues which have seen him away from first team action. Understandable. Boyd's comments weren't really thought out and a bit inconsiderate. Again, understandable given that he's a bit of a muppet.

Boyle reminds me similar to Brendan Barker and use all know how well he’s doing right now so I am not sure if he would cut the mustard at Celtic.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

24 Jan 2020 08:24:29
I'm not that happy with the idea of us getting Boyle either, but have to say he is a far better player than that Barker.

Although I think we need to bee adding a bit more quality Boyle would certainly bring speed and a direct approach that we have been missing on the wings recently.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Jan 2020 09:42:18
Last week it was Shankland, now it's Barker; I/ m not only concerned about the standards we are looking at, but with the stark possibility we are getting desperately near the bottom of the managers list as the weeks fly by in what was a crucial window in cementing success.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Jan 2020 12:46:21
Who said we we are actually looking at them? Stop reading the papers.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Jan 2020 00:39:04
Why would Hammond need to see Boyle when Lennon knows the player well he managed him so should know his attributes what he can bring to the table? Surely be a no brainier for Lennon if he thinks he can do a job then bid and see what happens rather than than sending out head scout.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

24 Jan 2020 07:54:27
Because he's not just a head scout he's the head of recruitment? Because celtic work with a panel that handles transfers?
