I really think we are going to have one hell of a team if not next season then the season after. I mean half a dozen of those guys playing in the reserves today could become first team regulars and don't forget there are 3 or 4 crackers out on loan and oko flex I don't think can even get a game right now. I know young players that are hyped can often fall by the wayside but I am hopefull off an explosion of talent breaking through like the quality street gang. Oh just thinking that I don't even think Robertson that played against Cluj was playing today and that's another I was really impressed with. Ed taking out the obvious one in Dembele, out of all the young talent coming through what 3 in your opinion (or more if you think so) are most likely to challenge for a first team place in the next couple of seasons. I value your opinion. Cheers.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I really don't know enough about our young players these days if I'm honest mate and there's no guarantees that any of them will make it at Celtic, look at Islam Feruz & Calvin Miller that everyone raved about and then the likes of CalMac that was written off as not good enough for years.
It's really difficult for youngsters to make the breakthrough at Celtic these days as fans demand a big money signing in every position and the minute you misplace a pass or make a mistake you're labelled a dud.}

24 Feb 2020 21:47:49
I have a wee laugh when I hear lennon talking up McGregor ed. He was punting him if he had stayed on. McGregor is another one that owes ronny a big debt.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Shhhhh! Ffs, Kev you should know by now that you're not allowed to say anything against Lennon or even worse praise anything Deila done.}

25 Feb 2020 09:52:24
Ffs forgot about that ed.

But I've started so I will finish.
I can remember lennon being questioned on him while he was doing well at notts county. Lennon said hed probably need to leave to get the football he wants.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Feb 2020 12:31:57
Loaning McGregor out in the first place was clearly good for his development so a good move by Lennon you could argue. also it would be a lot easier for our young players to break into deilas team because we were rotten simple as that. its been said by you plenty of times kev that players that don't play for us just now seem to be seem to be better players in some fans eyes when they don't play. its the same with deila all of a sudden he seems to be s better manager all of a sudden when he's not here.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Feb 2020 13:34:03
Ronnys problem was his lack of experience at a big club player or manager. He didn't know how to handle certain players. Players like commons and mulgrew made his job more difficult by refusing to do what he asked with regards to nutrition (probably why rodgers got rid straight away) . Tactically he seemed okay and the structure he wanted to instill in the club similar to that of rodgers. I think his time with us came too early for him. But there where certainly positives, tierney and McGregor being 2 off them and he did get the best out of griffiths.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Feb 2020 14:14:47
Liam most of Lennon's players were still there when McGregor broke into the team so I don't see how it would have been easier.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Feb 2020 15:28:28
Kev there was plenty on here didn't fancy Callum then . like wise Forrest so that's just football young players need time. some make it some don't.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Feb 2020 16:18:48
kev because lennon would have these same players fitter and playing better football that's why. all this nutrition stuff that everyone talks about with deila is utter nonsense his team was one of the unfittest teams i can remember.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Feb 2020 06:37:27
Thanks Ed. That is very true. My problem is I get over excited by home grown young players. It is amazing seeing one of your own make it. But all good points and of course there is guys like Robertson at liverpool to back up what your saying. Hopefully a couple from this crop will do something. Cheers!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - ๐Ÿ‘

25 Feb 2020 17:29:04
Neil lennon would have had they players fitter? Are you actually being serious? Lennon's team was no where near as fit as Ronnie's and even players like brown and VVD have said he made them fitter. Man some nonsense spouted on this page these days.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Feb 2020 17:49:27
kev its you who's spouting it on numerous occasions brown has spoken about how fitter the team was when deila left we were dying on our feet at the end of games.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Feb 2020 20:50:03
Deila was a poor manager who couldn't get the best out of the players . because he was into sports science doesn't make him a good manager he's not exactly been working at the higher echelons of the game since he left. but he was a good guy.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Feb 2020 13:28:34
He didn't get the money to buy the quality other managers have had. Likes of Kazim-Richards, Cole, Wakaso, Tonev, Scepovic and Blackett are hardly going to light up a game. He lost the dressing room too as a few senior players undermined him. Probably the main reason I can't stand the sight of Commons as a pundit.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Feb 2020 20:55:54
Ajer has showed his class and potential in the last few games. It would be good to find another one at that price. We could have Ajer. B and Ajer. A: Just a thought like Ken. โ˜˜๏ธ.

JFP there is a 16 year old Norwegian, Fyeld I think his name playing for the reserves and is very highly rated. He played yesterday. Came from Rosenberg, maybe he's the next Ajer mate. They build them big in viking land!

Anyone see reserve game? Interested to see how Klimala faired other than goal. Reports tonight say "leak" suggests he hasn't impressed. Hopefully just scaremongering. PS see the Mousse Iooks to be pushing for a move from his "dream team" he would only leave us for to his next "dream team" Man Utd. Money talks ยฃยฃ.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

24 Feb 2020 21:09:55
Yip money talks, thatโ€™s how it works, he would never have signed for Celtic if he wasnโ€™t promised a move in time and Rodgers almost cheated him out of a move so itโ€™s swings and roundabouts.
Heโ€™s not our player anymore so if anymore money comes our way then thatโ€™s a result.
Eddy will be away shortly too, enjoy them while it lasts,
Hopefully the scouting team find another 1 or 2 over the next few years, itโ€™s just the way it works.

Good to see the reserves get through to the final of the SPFL reserve cup with a comprehensive victory over Hibs. Connel opening the scoring then Young Dembele grabbing 2 goals and Klimala scored a good goal too. Good stuff.

I noticed the reserve team today v hibs and shved isn't even on the bench, is he injured? I thought cos he isn't in the euro squad then he'd be playing today? Looks a very strong team, that team would give most of the Premier league teams a run for their money.

Now that the league's wrapped up, who do you think deserves player of the year. It's effectively been done in February so who do you you think has made the biggest contribution so far?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Edouard or Forster for me, what about you, Brian?}

24 Feb 2020 16:21:45
Bribhoy, correct me if I'm wrong but did you say on the dark side that it's the same club?

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Feb 2020 16:26:22
Callum Mc Gregor for me.

Agree3 Disagree0

24 Feb 2020 17:04:11
Would be Forster for me Ed. And yes McAvennie I did. Would be the same if it happened to us. Same club I've loved seing getting beat all these years. If it wasn't then it wouldn't be the same feeling beating them. Not going to go into the whole bust argument, as that would take an eternity. Suffice to say they cheated and now suffer for it. And I'm glad for our dominance๐Ÿ˜.

Agree1 Disagree0

24 Feb 2020 17:04:35
It's a difficult decision to pick one player as I think big Forster, Jullien, Ajer, Broony, Cal-Mac, Forrest, Eddy and Christie have all had purple-patches that contributed brilliantly since away back last July and even Griff has made a big difference since the winter break.
Forster and Jullien won the league cup final almost on their own, with the big goalie giving us a really reliable last line of defense whereas Eddy has developed into a real class act and a match winner, at every level of football, he has played. Broony - legend. however,
At a push I would have to say Mc Gregor - (not Johhny Hayes as some people expected) - for his versatility, graft, creativity and goals. I really hope he stays for years to come.

Agree1 Disagree0

24 Feb 2020 17:53:48
To each their own Bribhoy, but that grates on me. They laughed at our sack the board chants while they outspent us, and won with the help of masonic referees. We had a broken crest on the front and back pages of the person papers. I suppose it was sweet poetic justice that when they could have taken action, the person papers talked of front loaded warchests and the like. Celtic never went into admin never mind liquidation, Rangers DIED and amen to that.

Agree2 Disagree0

24 Feb 2020 18:13:00
I didn't particularly enjoy that time either McAvennie. Which makes beating them all the sweeter๐Ÿ˜.

Eddy and big Herman share it.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Feb 2020 20:00:03
Cant look past edouard and the goals he's scored for poty but big fraz has contributed a hell of a lot, as have McGregor brown forrest christie ajer jullien. Got to be eddy tho he's on another level to the rest and we'll do well to keep him for another year. I would offer him whatever it takes and promise him his move when the ten is in the bag.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Feb 2020 20:18:31
It would be Eddie then Calmac for me. Calmac for his consistency, but Eddy has just been different class lately. His all round game has improved and his close control and range of finishing is a joy to watch. A real class act. The best player to play here since The King? I think so. Fraser is great, but he's not our player. yet. Although he's been fantastic for us, I'd rather reward one of our bhoys.

So the flat earthers have chucked it, threw in the (Deontay Wilder) towel, tapped out and bottled it. Relentless is the word I would use for us just now we just keep producing the goods.
Not trying to tell NL his job but my tactic/ motivation for the players over next few weeks is just keep being relentless and get job finished asap.
Apart from obvious reason I say this is the Scottish cup is played before league is done, so get league sorted and last game for top X1 can be Scottish cup final (assuming we get there) which means the top players will get another 2 weeks off.
This could help us going into qualifiers with fresher players totally rested and less panic about signings too as Lennon will have more time to mull over signings.
Also may help come December where we tend to flag (pun intended) a bit.

It's the same every season with rivals in league, they come out all guns blazing till winter break then come January fade away. Sevco are no different and sooner their club and fans realise that the better.

We just need to keep players fit and injury free.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Feb 2020 17:11:56
It's a tall order and unlikely the way the last five fixtures are set-out, even though they have been dropping points every 2nd game; but it would be amazing to win the league before the daft split.
This is a crucial week that will determine who remains in the Europa and who progresses in the Scottish Cup; so pressure is more on them.

After a busy weekend I'm just catching up on all news Celtic, can anyone tell me why Leicester are linked with 25 million Callum McGregor to replace 80 million James Maddison? These prices for our players to players down south are getting embarrassing. It's past the Wanyama and Van Dijk prices now! On another note I'm on route to The Isle Of Wight for work, bay ideas for places to watch the game on Thursday night friends? HH.

Neil Lennon's last spell in charge had the same consistency difference being Rangers weren't involved during season 13/ 14 it was Lenny's last championship of our first 3 in the bag we accrued 99 points having only lost one league game all season. It looks like the table will have a familiar look to it. The arch enemy are back but are they really.

The last Rangers game was a hard watch but we should have had something out the game when leaving the stadium I never felt that dreaded feeling that we were in any serious trouble Penalty missed hit the bar few chances off the line. We had little choice at the time due to injuries still top ruined my day right enough.

I'm looking forward to seeimg a genuine good guy who loves the Club take Celtic to 9 in a row he's not everyone's cup of tea but he's a winner and deserves to finish what he started.

We all seen that at Hibs Brendan and Slippy were put to the sword.
I was happy to see him back if he's backed by the board and supporters we will be in safe hands for a few more title's HH.

We can only beat what's in front of us and whether Sevco are a poor quality replica - even though they are said to be the same club and had the league won at the end of December - or an inferior replica and Aberdeen are not as consistent, we are a class apart bar none.
Not only has our domestic form been superbly consistent, but our group-winning EL campaign, has shown confidence, class and bottle.
All this with the handicap of losing at least one star-player every summer, malevolent media and that pesky random fixture computer ha ha.
