Celtic done a professional job today to win with the players we had on the pitch.
We were missing a few leaders.
When KT went off our 5 previous captains were absent.
Brown, Lustig, KT, Calmac and Izzy.
The players showed character and done well to see the game out.

Just seen the goal got to feel for Bain . I can remember seeing something like that happening in a Liverpool game a few years back can't think Of the exact outcome but am sure they replayed the game.

are you not thinking about the beach ball incident v Sunderland? The game was not replayed as I recall.
The Motherwell goal technically did not breach any rules. However, there is an expectation when a ball is deliberately played out to allow an injured player treatment, the resulting throw-in is passed back to the opposition goalkeeper. It is deemed professional and morally correct. That would explain why it did not happen today - Motherwell have no integrity.

Arsenal v Sheffield United mate. Arsenal scored after failing to give the ball back from a throw in just like today. Steve Bruce attempted to take his players off the field he was that incensed. Arsenal won the game however it was agreed due to sporting integrity that the game would be replayed.

The Motherwell goal was really poor stuff from them. I also thought their players got away with murder in the first half but then Eddy gets booked for a clash of heads. Well done to all involved for digging out the win and putting that gang in their place!

kevbhoy i totally agree with you. going forward i would like to see Celtic issue a statement saying in the future we WILL not be putting the ball out or give possession back to ANY club after this disgraceful behavior by mini rangers (motherwell) . this is the type of behavior we will be up against in the run in to 10iar, hh.

24 Feb 2019 20:34:15
Why punish every club when its Motherwell that should be punished by All clubs in Scotland for that. Just had a look on the net and for there Manager coming away with his Excuse is just as bad really poor and SHAME on Motherwell FC. can't even blame the ref on that as it was legal but really unsportsmanlike.

tony2bhoy, as much as i respect your views i think you need to open your eyes to what is going on. this sort of behavior will get worse as the run we are on extends. there is a couple of clubs we could probably trust, but the rest we need to be wary off. PLEASE mate i hope am wrong but i doubt it. hh.

I don't agree with putting the ball out of play, and then expecting it back, it's the refs job to stop the play if there is an injury, sure let a player put the ball out of play if he's worried about a teammate or an opponent, but don't expect it back, hate seeing that happening especially in really tight games, when suddenly it becomes, 'after you Claude'for a few minutes, when before it was a really competitive game, also, this practice of putting the ball out of play is open to abuse in situations where one team is trying to waste time, as seen in European foot ball .

I don't think anyone could be blame for calling referee Clancy a cheat or other name Clancy didn't seem to see no wrong with the tackles by Motherwell players who didn't seem to care whether they seriously injured a Celtic player. As usual every time a Celtic player looked sideways at an opponent a free was given against them . I have to say I didn't expect Clancy to be so anti Celtic as he was today .
Clancy and Motherwell got what they deserved four excellent goals by Celtic, the goals and the form of young Henderson plus return of K Tierney and N Briton did much to help to soothe the tempers of the Celtic supporters after the dreadful bad sportsmanship of Motherwell.

Gerrard has said he didn't want to see or hear that sort of behaviour . Nothing new there then, they haven't been seeing or hearing that sort of behaviour over the short time of their existence . Much the same as the fans of the extinct team .

Where are the days upon days of reports about sectarianism at their game? No story on the banner either!? Anyone know what it said?

Must say was a bit disgusted by the Motherwell goal, or should I say the build up to it, but when I caled down I was left wondering are there any precedents for this behaviour.
Must say it always seems that the team that puts the ball out of play is not the team of the injured player as a gesture of goodwill not to continue playing whilst an opponent is on the ground in need of assistance. Then when the throw in is taken it is given back to the team which was in possession as a sign of recognition as they were not obliged to put the ball out.
I'm not saying I liked what happened and in fact I didn't but was wondering if the same rule of sportsmanship apply on this occasion when it was Celtic themselves who put the ball out. Curious to know what people thin. Thank God at the end of the day it didn't do us any real damage as we son comfortably in the end.

There is no written law regarding giving the ball back, it’s generally given back as a show of sportsmanship. What really angered me was the shocking display from Kevin Clancy, dishing out yellow cards like confetti to Celtic players, not just the cards his handling of the game left a lot to be desired, and Dougie (red card x3) Ross wasn’t any better, the standard of officiating is at an all time low. oldkilly.

I have only seen the one in the past when a team scored. They let the opposition walk the ball up into the net. No chance of that happening in our game. Good to see KT back. Young Henderson had a good game. We have quite a few talented young players waiting for there chance in the first team. We have had some amount of injuries this season to key players. Onwards to Tynecastle and Easter Rd and a home game V Aberdeen. Win those 3 and the league's done and dusted. 🍀.

As a few of us have pointed out it's not the opponents we really need to worry about in this league it's the blatantly biased and slanted officiating, uneven and inconsistent rulings and lack of protection.
There are too many of these clowns at present - in fact there is probably a team and three subs trying desperately to obstruct us.
Fortunately it's going to take a lot more than cheats to stop us.

Aye Leicester will have a lot to offer Brendan . EPL or Championship football.
Unfortunately after the tragic deaths in the helicopter the Board has lost its most influential Director/ Owner and nobody can be sure how Leicester City performs in the short medium time . No matter how good the manager is, a club and team will perform badly if their is poorly functioning board.

Hey ED007, just wondering a bit on how Ajer is playing and how he is developing? don't hear much about the scottish league in Norway.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Nice to hear from you 👍 Ajer is developing into a great player for us mate. He had a couple of niggly injuries earlier in the season but seems to be over that and with Benkovic now out injured he's been playing regularly and playing well, he was unlucky not to score against Valencia the other night.
Vidar Riseth had an interview in our press yesterday:

NorwegianRed the laddie definitely has potential and looks more like a centre half now he’s had his eye socket, nose and/ or jaw and whatever else he’s had broken in Scotland. Good article Ed. Was Ajer not bought as a midfielder?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - He was but the plan was was always to move him back to play CB. I remember Ajer himself talking about it when he first came over and saying the coaches in Norway felt he wasn't physically strong enough to play there yet.}

24 Feb 2019 13:16:45
I can remember Ronny saying he could end up a top class CB when ajer was bought.

Danny long legs is a brilliant prospect.
He could potentially be the future captain of Celtic.
I am a big fan of Ajer and I can see him playing a big part in the future for both Celtic and Norway.

With Broony suspended I wonder if we will see Brendan go with two up top today with Christie dropping in beside McGregor and possibly Eddie and Burke up front. There's obviously a few options. Biton can replace Brown or Johnstone can play the 10 role. We shall see 🍀.

Think McGregor will step in and we also have Ntcham fit again, I believe and with Sinclair, Weah and KT also in contention, we should have a very strong first eleven - and bench even without our Captain.
