Unbelievable, The word deluded gets used a lot when describing them but it's gone beyond that. Why can't they face up to the fact they are operating at a level miles below us. They honestly believe selling a few thousand shirts has solved all their problems and will now be able to compete with us . After all our previous predictions came true- Whyte, Green, Warburton, Joey Barton, finishing 3rd behind Aberdeen they still don't listen. We are now trying to tell them that Dodgy Dave is taking them for a ride but the gullibles don't believe it. I predict the Cypriot mob will pump them out of Europe before the season starts and Pedro will be getting hounded out by Xmas. 😁😁😁😁.

King is a real piece of work. I don't think they will qualify for Europa. As far as team goes let's see but would love to pump them again this season.

After the new season's fixtures were announced today, Celtic are planning to celebrate winning the league title by unfurling the flag at the opening home game against Hearts.
Meanwhile over at Ibrox, Mr King has announced that a special ceremony will take place at the new club's opening home game against Hibernian to celebrate the point Sevco gained last season against Celtic at Celtic Park.

Rodgers said we are looking to add 1 more before the qualifiers. Then wait till later in the window when players are more readily available. Again he mentioned the English markets. Think he must have a few in sight but need qualification before the go ahead potentially? What's everyone's thoughts? Do you know who this player he speaks of is ED or is there multiple targets?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Sorry I don't know who mate but it sounds like it's a specific target he's talking about. I was hoping something would happen before we head out to Austria but it doesn't look like it now.}

When did he say that there is that much being said don't know who to Listen too?

Seen a lot of Celtic fans moaning about the decision from the club to not take tickets for linfield game, but what do you expect when the police etc can't guarantee safety of the fans? My question is if that's the case then why is it not safe for the fans but safe enough for the players? The fact that fans can't travel to games in 2017 is embarrassing!

Believable3 Unbelievable3

23 Jun 2017 19:43:07
Players will fly in to Belfast on the day no doubt and have a police escort to and from the ground
A lot easier to protect 1 bus than it is to police a couple of thousand fans that will have crossed on ferries etc.

23 Jun 2017 22:20:51
Still a disgrace just like the marching. How can it be allowed? Go and march dosn any public road chanting slogans against jews, muslims, black people or any group person or organisation and you would get locked up yet the police actually patrol the stredts to ensure these marches can actually go ahead? We have not moved on at all. Disgrace.

Agree1 Disagree2

24 Jun 2017 09:05:10
It really is farcical and with all the other threats to public safety I think it's time marches are brought to an end

why not have these things in the halls and social clubs.

I've just noticed watching back the first game of last season. The amount of effort that went into that game winner. Shows right from the word go the effect Brendan has had on those players. Under deila you never really seen that in the team. That hearts game set the tone for the season and it showed. Brendan has near enough remapped the club for the better. Amazing season.

New fixtures announced today. I know there's the obvious ones to look at but my eyes were drawn to 13th December. Celtic v Hamilton on the Wednesday night.

Accies will probably bring about 100 fans, the game will be a drab 2-0 win as our players start to tire after a busy schedule hanging on for the derby and a week in the sun.

Surely now is the time to get right behind shaking this league up. Playing the same teams 3 or 4 times each season
(especially when I know a hot bovril is the only thing saving me from frostbite) is a needless turn-off.

The League Cup has expanded, the top 4 have European fixtures and a winter break has been introduced. An 18-team top flight with a 34 game season would make things a bit more interesting.

If I knew we were only playing Hamilton the once at CP a season then there's much less chance the miserable climate would put me off.

I wonder if most folk agree?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - What's with the picking on Accies? Gggrrrrrrrrr......

23 Jun 2017 14:06:35
Maybes unfair of me there Ed007 but it's rarely a classic. Apart from the 8-1 game I don't think we've had decent match since they came back up.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I know what you mean but they've made things a bit difficult for us at NDP although a lot of that is down to the pitch imo.}

23 Jun 2017 14:36:50
2 leagues would be my shout 20 and 22, 3 up and down.

Partick thistle came on a wet Monday night just before Xmas and at least tried to play football Hearts at homes a great way to kick off the league defence! How's our Ed have you been enjoying the close season or is all the rumours doing your box in?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - It's not that bad this window.... yet.}

23 Jun 2017 16:24:54
Celtic and Rangers not visiting clubs twice a season - what sort of impact would that have on the finances of certain clubs? Genuine question, and I'm glad I'm not the guy responsible for shaking the league up. In saying that, his plan is just to hope Rangers get better. The first port of call for me, would to have a 'summer league'.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jun 2017 16:34:57
That's good Ed how many times this summer has someone's paperboys dugs vet seen Robbie Keane at Celtic park? Jim how does a summer league work when there's the Euros world cups and champ leagues.

{Ed007's Note - Robbie Keane and Shay Given at the burger van outside Celtic Park!}

23 Jun 2017 17:28:40
We'll worry about Ross County's and Kilmarnock's World Cup players if we ever get to that stage. As for the CL, there's ways to work it, didn't do Malmo or Molde any harm. It's more about the league not Celtic. But of course, a better league, higher attendances and more lucrative TV deals would help Celtic too 😉.

The Irish League is now played through the summer and look how well Dundalk did last season. Read an interesting article on it recently it said already a better quality of football being played and crowds are up.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jun 2017 20:06:47
I definitely think expanding the leagues but rather than the spl reverting to summer football the lower leagues do so this while introducing colt teams, think in doing so more crowds at smaller clubs and then come the spl season crowds might increase as you'd maybe get fans of Albion rovers going to Hamilton Motherwell etc.

23 Jun 2017 20:56:49
16 team top league would be best imo.

Hearts having kyle lafferty in there squad will be a laugh next season, seriously though he will probably find some form then accidentally in purpose miss games against rangers.

Anyone worried about the lack of transfer activity so far I really hope we aren't waiting to see if we qualify for the champions league that's not good.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

23 Jun 2017 12:23:28
Sam don't worry about it. we just started pre season on Monday! There is no rush to bring players in. yes it would be good to have them bedded in but we've got more than enough to deal with the first couple of CL qualifiers! Brendan says he'll add 2 or 3 bits of quality and that's exactly what he'll do! This is a squad that just went through a whole campaign unbeaten, so there's absolutely no need to worry. we're in as good a pace as we've been in for years, both on and off the pitch. this is actually the most relaxed I've ever felt going into a new season!

Bhoys and ghirls I'm starting to wonder if these top players we are all talking about will only come with CL? Hh.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

23 Jun 2017 07:30:24
That's usually the case but if they signed for us and played the qualifiers it would give us an even better chance.

Agree2 Disagree0

23 Jun 2017 08:08:50
I'm comfortable with the situation, I'm sure quality signings will come in when we need it i. e once CL qualification is secured. Nobody apart from Paddy has left so we have more than enough to stroll things domestically again. Could be a lot worse if we were filling our squad with 2nd rate Brazillian speaking Portuguese Mexican players that nobody else wanted.
