Why do Celtic not try to sign kasper schmeichel? think he's a great GK and if they are after one at a good price he must be in with a shout at £1million.
Also think if any one gets goodie for the £2million asked they will be making a great signing. better than what I've seen of the boy Best that Celtic are getting linked with although admittedly I haven't seen much of him. I wasn't particularly hinting at an anti-celtic bias, as I would like to hope that sort of thing would only count for a small minority of journalists in this day and age. I was more leaning towards how they manipulate the smallest of things and turn them into a huge scandal in order to sell papers.

Re the Bothroyd bit, he's a big target lad sort, decent touch etc but nothing like Super Hoops. Bothroyd is a bit too greedy, never seems to play the easy pass, would rather shoot from daft angles etc...we'd be better off wiv Stokesy or the Israeli lad tbh.
And he'll want silly money, for a bloke who's team couldn't get out of the Championship that's not on imo. Aim higher, Bothroyd does when he's shootin.

I agree, Brown wont be dropped because for some reason hees our captain. But tbh, i think he should be dropped, much prefer Ki. Wilson for the armband!
I think Brown had a cracking season last year and IMO will only improve next season. Definitely plays better down the right where he's got more freedom to go forward and doesn't have to get involved as much with defending in the middle of the park (where he's prone to getting involved...he still is mind you). He also works far better with Mark Wilson than he does Joe Ledley.
And as for the captaincy I'd give it to Kayal. For me he's the only one in the starting 11 with all of the required leadership qualities - good pro, a presence, barely gets involved with opposition players (cf. Broony), plays every week, and isn't afraid to speak his mind to his teammates. He's also a very intelligent footballer which in particular sets him aside from other recent candidates like Broony and Major.
Scott Brown is Celtic Captain and that aint gonna change, so stop bleating and get behind the bhoy. Kayal does get involved, he's just more subtle!!....Miko

I will be very disappointed if CFC do not BUY a GK this window. Schmeichel or Forster would do for me, they are both young and have their best years ahead of them. Was on Celtic's official Twitter and seen a link about up to date transfer news, rumours etc and laughed when I seen it said Celtic had been linked with Niklas Bendtnar from Arsenal! Also, another name was Marcus Hannamahn (spelling) from Wolves I believe? Again, I laughed at these and thought my fellow Tims would as well. I'll try and post the link soon so we can all chuckle. The last time I checked Liege was in Belgium, as for Mjallby "demanding", what a load of bollocks, in fact any Celtic supporter who reads the Scottish tabloids, far less buys them really needs their heads looked at. I really hope it's true that we have put in a bid for big Fraser. If he wants to play for us, he can let newcastle know this.I reckon the big man could be our best signing of the season. I really don't get the fans who say he is nothing special. We were dumped out of Europe before he played, since he came in, our defence has been better. He is a young Keeper who has made a couple of mistakes, and seems to have learned from them. I actually feel more confident with him in goals than Artur, Artur was always prone to an absolute howler every now and then, i don't get that feeling from Fraser. So, hopefully peter Lawell can get him signed up, as this guy will only keep improving, and we know exactly what we are getting from him.

Allan McGregor is a great example Paddybhoy. When he was young I thought he was ok made a few blunders sent out on loan to lesser sides but now look at him one of the best goalkeepers in Europe.

Same thing happens every transfer window, and as much as i like to read them, i think we have to be realistic about who might come to Celtic Park. Firstly, a lot will depend on who leaves to free up wages and create a space in an otherwise crowded pool, a pool crowded with dead wood. We are a selling club, and if the right money comes in, players will go and so the circle continues. I'd luv some big names to come, but think we might be better served in the short term with experienced players to compliment the quality we have. Key positions are GK and someone like Brad Freidel or Kaspar Schmeikel would do it for me, central defence(where i would rather we went back to a sweeper system behind a ball winner) and a target man up front to act as a foil for Hooper.Someone like Carew would do us a turn or Heskey, just someone to bully centre halves and win something in the air.These are only to get the title back and then to strengthen from a position of strength, like we should have done 3 years ago....
Isnt EVERY club a selling club is that not how these businesses work?
