Had a listen to clyde tonight and it's the usual drivel but what grates me is our very own Ronnie has has a not so smooth ride in his celtic career but there are signs of s young exciting squad gathering but no he is not good enough and they are discussing his probable replacements similar situation to us at the newbies The bread man similar lead in the league to us and pumped out one cup but I forgot in the prestigious Petrofac cup final but he is deemed a tactical genius who waxes lyrical about his visions to take Scottish football forward and every vision has gaping holes in it but the laptop loyal lap it up! I know Ronnie has had many downs but the press set it up bur no Sevco so we should have had 4 trebles of course. how many celtic managers in 127 years have won a treble? But you MUST do well in Europe is another call from the press to make fans bite oh aye why can't Ronnie get it right in Europe? If giants like man city and man utd can't do it abroad what gives celtic the God given right to be able to succeed. I would love more positive performances in Europe it's always a wee boost doing it against foreign opposition. And at home when team play two banks of 5&4 it's hard to break down without a Messi or neymar in your team. We shop bargain basement as the last figures showed break even if you deduct the vvd sale so the cries to spend spend spend the cash generated is just enough to tick away. Just fed up with our fans biting to the Scottish press 's bait. just my opinion mind?

Forget about sevco and forget about europe, and just look at the domestic games if you are happy with Ronnies team selection, and the team performances, and the entertainment on the field, then you are a happy man, wish I could say the same.

I am not saying I am 100% happy far from it just scunnered with the way reporting is portrayed against both managers in similar positions in their respective leagues. We just struggle to attract quality now I do feel and by our managers own admission we need to downsize the squad hopefully trying to get bit more quality instead of quantity in place. A few young ish players in place looking hungry for game time which bodes well going to be an interesting couple of months ahead think there could be 8-10 out the door? Which maybe a good or bad thing? But players seem to be very positive in interviews which is good.

23 Feb 2016 22:46:09
I know the club have said they will be shedding the squad this summer, but unfortunately its a two way street. Clubs have to want some of these players that are deemed not good enough for us . On top of that, the player must agree to go . It's easier said than done as the last few windows supporters were calling for a cull on players. Boerrigter being a prime example.

Average to rotten teams the world over would be playing 2 banks of 5 if it meant the other team wouldn't get through and you'd get a draw. The worst teams in history would be escaping relegation! It's never an excuse for not scoring, - they parked the bus, nonsense! It might be harder, or different but you don't need Messi or Neymar to score against a defensive team! It's about having intelligence and imagination, and that's why you have a manager! Defending is an art, and there aren't many Baresi's and Maldini's around these days, so there is always a way through! You just have to look at our defence since Ronny walked in the door - there's always 2 or 3 ways through!

IT isn't easy for either R D or the Celtic players both have to suffer abusive shouts and jeers from loud mouths everytime a pass is misplaced . These people who sit in the Celtic stands are certainly not Celtic supporters as they are certainly not encouraging or helping to build confidence of the players or manager .
It appears these people are chasing both Forrest and Johannson from Celtic both players have had great periods for Celtic, Stefan player of year last season and biggest target of abuse this year . Forrest has had some great games and many injuries, now the abuse has drained his confidence, is it any wonder his form is patchy.
Good players are hard to come about, forum posters and loud mouth fans would serve Celtic better by encouraging them.

Aindoh never shows any appreciation to R D and the players for winning games . He prefers to harp back on unfortunate results last season and last year .
That 's the attitude that will rebuild confidence in both players and manager and make Celtic good again .
Aindoh you don't have to be pessimistic all the time, a wee bit of glass half full attitude, might help you to enjoy following Celtic.

Chris, fans have every right to voice an opinion, It would be great if the only thing that guaranteed success was fans cheering players who under perform, with that logic every team in the world would be successful.
Do you think the Liverpool fans were wrong to walk out against higher ticket prices, or should they have just sat there and said nothing. By their fans voicing their displeasure, the top brass at Liverpool actually listened to them and reversed their plans.
Fans are not sheep, just because we support a team doesn't mean that we can't comment on the decisions that the people running the club make.
Footballers are very well paid, some would say they are privileged, a lot of them earn more in a week than a lot of fans earn in a year, if they are so mentally weak that they are affected by what fans say on banter sites, then they really want to pack the game in and go and do a real job.

Agree2 Disagree0

24 Feb 2016 21:52:49
Old Bhoy, there is difference between being pessimistic and being realistic, and i was talking about this season, not last year and last season, its obvious Ronnies being picking the wrong teams for a while, he even says himself that he has been making mistakes, yet you are so blindly loyal to Ronnie, you can't allow yourself or anyone else to raise a critical voice, instead in your eyes Ronnie is the olny one that is right, everyone else is wrong.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Feb 2016 23:10:05
Gerryc you prove my point Liverpool were two goals up with only ten or so minutes left and their so called supporters turned there back and walked out. Liverpool hung on for a two all draw.
The Liverpool board did not reverse their decisions on price rises. They reduced the rise in some of them
Passionate support a lone may not win every game but we will win more games if the crowd is behind the team rather than abusing and shouting at individual players and manager .
Aindoh, u keep referring to our manager as a clown, what qualifications as a top SPL manager or manager at any level do you have .
Our manager at this point in time is R D, I support Celtic, manager and players, I don't have a la carte approach to supporting Celtic, as long as a Celtic players behaves as a professional player should and appears to do his best he will have my support . Similarly if I feel a manager has a vision and works hard for players and club he will have my support . In my working life of over 40 years I made many mistakes and I was never sacked for any, if a person doesn't make a mistake he will make nothing .
I am as optimistic of Celtic's future now as anytime in the last 30 odd years except M'ON early years .

25 Feb 2016 00:00:41
You're putting words into my mouth, OldBhoy, i never said Ronnie was a clown, you're mixing me up with someone else, i think Ronnie is still learning, and so far i don't think he has shown any indication that he has the potential to be a top manager, since he came to Celtic, i think he got lucky at Stromsgodset, and has been living of that.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Feb 2016 13:52:16
Chris, I never know if you're serious. What if a player is not giving 100% on the pitch, are supporters just expected to cheer him even though he's taking them for fools, and what about directors who put making money for themselves while weakening the team, are we supposed to give them a standing ovation.
You want to come into the real world Chris, a lot of people involved in running clubs are only in it for their own personal gain, fans follow their team for life.
If fans see a player not pulling his weight, or see directors ripping the fans off, the good on them for letting their feelings be known, in my eyes they are the people really have the club at heart.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Feb 2016 16:38:20
Name the directors you Of the club who you think is getting money he doesn't deserve Gerryc
In my opinion too many supporters criticise things they know nothing about . Fans going to matches and hurling abusee at players and manager are definitely not supporting the team and definitely not helping to win matches . Only an idiot would think different . Players working hard or not on the pitch is a matter of opinion . Those hurling abuse certainly can't judge .
Based on quality of posts, I doubt if you know who if any directors are ripping the club off .

Celtic v Morton Sunday 6 March at 12.00 on sky . Rangers live on saturday why wait 2 weeks then announce it just before final match gets played (Dundee/Dumbarton) ? I would rather wait till all matches are settled then make the draw with tv companies given an hour to pick their ties.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

23 Feb 2016 20:47:47
Good to see Celtic on the ball they are opening the whole stadium! The family section is being given to Morton so all the kids being moved. Seriously the last time we played Morton there was 15000 and it wasn't on tv so why on earth open the upper tier for this match,

Maybe they are planning greatly reduced prices as some have suggested to fill the place up generate some passion for the tie?

15 quid a ticket so no bigp that's no the plan

Sunday 6th March is Mother's Day. £15 a ticket. Games on tv. Probably not on the season book. This could be one of our lowest ever attendances and with the games being shown all over the uk and the world it's another poor showing for Scottish football.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Feb 2016 18:19:14
Celtic fans from the greater Glasgow area has had their poor support for the team covered by the loyal fans from all over the Uk and Ireland when the match is at an unsuitable time for distant fans the number of fans from the " greatest fans in the world " is expected to be very low . Surely we are better than that, are we allowing our club to be the same as all others?

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Feb 2016 21:48:54
Surely the greatest fans in the world, living within 50miles of Celtic Park can get along on March 6th to Celtic Park and support and encourage their team to cup success . Surely the greatest fans in the world will get 35,000 to 40,000 there to put on a show, surely not all our fans from within the West of Scotland, greater Glasgow area are not all mummy boys.

No why would they Ronnie has proved with every semi final, Europa league and European qualifier loss he is not up to the job and NEVER WILL BE, put him out of his misery and give the dof you have in mind the managers job, they could not be any worse, Ronnie is clueless his teams and selection have no direction or motivation.

I think that was probably needed when he took over, I have always felt that this is too big a job for a young inexperienced coach.
The type of player that plays for a club like ours is different, a lot of them have got big egos, and I daresay they don't respond well to coaches that, in their eyes, haven't achieved what they have in the game.
I think next season it's even more important that he's given more help, assuming sevco are in the league.
If Ronny thinks that there has been pressure these last 2 seasons, then it will go up several notches next season, I would like to see someone who is experienced, and can help get the best out of the team involved.
I wonder though if Ronny would accept this, or whether he would view it as the board shoving him aside, and basically telling him he's not up to the job.

No, at the very most I'm willing to give him the rest of the season. After that I'd call for Stubbs personally, we have to be realistic in who we can bring to the club and he's transformed Hibs over the last two seasons, he knows what the club is all about and what standards have to be met which is also a plus. Seen an interesting Michael Stewart article the other days who had a brief conversation with Stubbs. He said Stubbs said you need to have two things to be a successful manager, 1 being good recruitment and 2 being man-management skills, of course on top of this you need to know what your best team is and your tactics. All things I don't feel Ronny has shown in his time here so far.

Ronny should be grateful he's getting the rest of the season as this has been one of the worst seasons following Celtic for me.

Very, very bad move to bring in a director of football at Celtic just now . Ok to appoint D O F and Manager at the one time or to bring Manager in to to work with existing D O F . To bring one in now would be a vote of no confidence in R D undermine his authority with players and give the loud mouths more reasons to intimidate and abuse him.

Forrest rejects four year deal. Great news.

The fact we even offered him one, bad news.

Shows me there are people in charge who cannot see how effin useless he is.

They are talking £500k. Good luck with that. More likely they will just let him go to Crewe or Aldershot for nothing. That's his level.

No offence to people who support these, I'm sure, fine clubs. :)
