I imagine we're all in total agreement that we DON'T want the season to be called by FIFA/ UEFA or SPFL. Hopefully this won't happen and we'll wipe the floor with the Sevs and stop them from yapping about tainted titles and asterisks. HH.

{Ed007's Note - Ideally the season would be played out but I can't see that happening now. UEFA will give leagues permission to end the season and then it's up to the individual leagues to decide how (sporting merit) and we've already had that vote.}

There has been a lot of buck-passing by the Governing body, The Associations and The clubs and a uniformed solution will never be agreed as long as so many people are allowed an input or influence. Most of us agree that a completed season would be the best solution, but with lock-downs being extended and the First Minister saying today that social distancing will be a factor for the rest of 2020, it's very difficult to see a solution that pleases everyone, or indeed can be seen as 100% safe for EVERYONE.
We have never dealt with anything so serious and the little we do know is far outweighed by the if's, but's and God knows what?
The contracting and spreading of this virus is still too vague and risky with no cure in sight, so deciding titles and prize money at this time should be universal and decreed by these fat-cats that take so much out of the game but shirk the big decisions because they don't want a backlash from their super-rich elite top table.
Call an end to 2019/ 20 then plan and prepare for the new season.

I think the way this virus is, next season will be under threat as well, I just don't see the point of paying people top money when there is no work for them to do, they should be all joining the government furlong scheme and the ones that don't want to, should be thanked for their service and let go, when ever the football starts again, let's just do it with the young team and what's left of the seniors.

French Eddy keep or sell?

Hail hail everyone I would imagine that even through all this pandemic our club are planning ahead, there have been the usual negative stories about the value of players falling because of the virus, my ex bears are revelling in this which I will post later, apparently French Eddy and Ajer as two examples, their value "have plummeted" and "Celtic are worried about financial loss" I do not give these stories much credence because a talented player will always have a certain value no matter what.
I know this has been discussed before but I hope Celtic offer Edouard a new improved 2 year extension at higher wages, this would do several things, get us fans on board knowing that the board are serious, it would also reward French Eddy with a lucrative new contract keeping him here for 10, and at the same time in a year or eighteen months time after securing the 10, sell him at his proper market value which by then hopefully has recovered.

The same as most seasons, it could depend on if we get into the CL next season.
I think UEFA will need to change the qualifying format due to time restrictions.
Celtic might have a better chance to qualify this season and with a bit of luck we might get a bye into the group stages. ( wishful thinking)
By the time we are back watching Celtic, I don’t think there will be much savings left in the bank and that is also counting the season ticket money.
Celtic are quite lucky though that we have a few gems in our squad that other clubs will be willing to spend 8 figures to buy them.

Hope, hope, hope Eddy signs an extension. Not too worried about Ajer but if the club can get hime tied down to a further extension then whatever. Both contracts expire in 2022.
Problem is as what you say about value reduction but the other side of the coin is that the entertainment and hospitality sector relies on volume income from punters and the government/ health/ science experts say relaxing restrictions has this sector way down the list. Clubs are going to be going to the wall sooner than later with fans not being allowed to attend stadiums.
One possible way for clubs bringing in cash would be pay per view with games being played behind closed doors.

That would be good mate but if he is offered mega bucks he will go the days of players like larsson staying for the love of the club are gone look at tierney he sold out and he was born and bred Celtic so I can't see it and as for price he won't be leaving for any less than 4o million lawell said as much but Ajmer I think 25 like tierney and Celtic will let him go hope not I think he is broonys perfect replacement but we will see.

The transfer market will be impacted by this pandemic. Hopefully he signs a new deal and we can cash in when things settle. He is far too good for our league though. Mind Sevco though Morelos was a better player? 😂😂.

If Sevco have to sell Morelos in order to stay alive then it could tell us two things - first how much they are prepared to sell him for to keep afloat, and second, the extent of the transfer market. If they have to sell him and they get decent money then we should get better money for Eddy - although I would prefer him to sign an extended contract.

Guys i do not want to win the league without playing all games. On the other hand if the governing body who's rules we must obey say we are champions then they are determining we ARE CHAMPIONS.
