Right lads can no one else see that football is going to be stopped very shortly, and I doubt it will start again until next Spring. Mark my words. This is the new normalšŸ¤.

Difficult to predict. Scottish football won't survive but neither will the pub league down south. They can't afford to not have the tv money so let's hope it continues. Those 5 months were awful without scottish football. What ever happened to the 10 million rebate in trifc dossier?

Stevie I don't think football will stop this time. I do think it will be a long time before fans are permitted into stadiums though.

As long as testing procedures are effective, I reckon at most there will be games rescheduled if any team has to self isolate. Think lower leagues might struggle.

We will just have to see what happens, and take what ever comes, this virus is airborne or whatever the word is, that means the droplets of the virus are so small, that when an asymptomatic person just speaks in a normal conversation, he or she sheds loads of the virus into the air around them, and because the droplets are so small they are suspended in the air, and infect the next person unlucky enough to breathe in that air, so mask wearing should be mandatory in public places, which will probably enrage the anti maskers, I say let them be enraged and healthy rather than suffer from life long side effects of this awful virus.
As for the football, I think it should carry on, under as strict a regime as possible, if I was the main man, I would build a huge complex on the top of that road going to Applecross, with enough accommodation and training facilities for all the SPFL teams, and just one dedicated football stadium, the fixtures would be played every day of the week, using every reasonable hour of the day, every match would be televised on a pay per view basis, but because not many people might want to watch the lesser teams, wee Nicola, will introduce a law, to the effect, that if you have a landline or satellite connection to your house, it will be accepted that you have spent Saturday afternoon watching Dundee v Patrick Thistle, even tho you spent, said, Saturday afternoon asleep in your garden, this will be irrelevant to Wee Nicola, and Ā£200 will be with drawn from your bank account or deducted from your benefits.

23 Sep 2020 01:22:32
I think the SPFL still need to pay back a couple of million spread over a payment plan of a few years.
Paying through the gates contributes to a large chunk of all the clubs turnover in Scotland.
In the EPL it is only a single figure percentage of their turnover which will be affected.
With no fans in the ground the TV companies will probably get more subscribers.

Angela Merkel's wee sister will make sure that football is not a priority.

It's a shame that you can't just pay for Scottish Football. No interest in paying huge fees for the standard sky package plus English Football. They are paying us next to nothing so why not have a Scottish football channel for tenner a month?

The virus is appearing more and more within clubs (David Moyes and players this morning at West Ham) and that's with ultra-safe testing and protection within a very controlled environment.
The smaller clubs have inferior facilities and can't afford the precautions and care of the rich clubs, so the danger is greater.
The laxing of lockdown rules was bound to increase risk of the C.V. spreading and as we approach winter weather, any cough, sneeze or symptoms will cause even more panic and over-reaction.
Therefor, I believe the season will be suspended at some point.

It's spiking again but the vast majority recover with no issues and even though are positive they are fine.

I 99.9% had it in April the 0.01% of doubt is I couldnā€™t get tested at that time? I had a bad cough and high temp for 6 days then my whole body aches and I still had the cough a tight chest and zero energy. I live alone and never left my house for 15 days. even now I struggle itā€™s hard to pin point but my lung capacity is shot to bits Iā€™ve less energy my joints ache and I just constantly feel done in. so I am testament it can f##k you long term šŸ™ but HH let's get behind Lenny and the Bhoys and HWG10IAR šŸ€šŸ†šŸ†šŸ†.

If Celtic win on Thursday we will play in the Europa league playoff next Thursday.
Will the St. Johnstone game which is scheduled for next Friday automatically get moved to the Sunday?
There hasnā€™t be any confirmation of this happening.
With Scotland having a crucial playoff against Israel on October 8th is there a chance the game will get postponed?

The decision-makers really didn't think this dilemma right through. Our close-season was extended and that was a democratic vote; however, asking players and clubs to juggle domestic seasons, European qualifiers and International Interruptions, during a backdrop of so much uncertainty and danger is too demanding IMO.
These are unprecedented times, with zero attendances, ticket money, atmosphere or other perks into the bargain, so why did everything have to start in tandem - we haven't even had 2019/ 20 Scottish Cup.
Internationals could have been put on ice for the time being for eg?

Agree4 Disagree0

22 Sep 2020 20:26:36
I think if international stopped they would struggle to get them back. I would not miss it it's been hard to watch for years. Read they are looking to implement even if you've played for a country you can still change. Rules like that add to the farce. Agree is should have been put on hold. Especially the play off. Could that not have been played end of season the week before the euros kick off.

I really don't understand why the majority of our Fan Base won't give Taylor some time to settle in. He's played 24 games. Has 9 assists and 1 goal. Domestically he is probably the second best left back in the league.

Fact is half of Europe are struggling for high quality full backs. What makes us so special that we deserve as good or better than what tierney was.

I think it's a position fans will always compare to KT; but even though he has done well in several games, he doesn't have the pace to go past players - like say, Frimpong on the other side - and although he has been involved in a lot of good stuff and will improve, we still need another left sided wing-back for competition and cover.

22 Sep 2020 15:29:32
We wrote off Bolingoli after a similar amount of games. I personally don't think he's a bad player but he doesn't suit our attacking team. He's a full back not a wing back. There's a place for him in the squad but I'd like to see an experienced attacking LWB brought in for him to learn from. Douglas fits that criteria but that seems to have went quiet.

22 Sep 2020 16:19:40
I like Fingprong, I think he has the making of a brilliant right back/ right wing back
I also like Taylor and cannot believe how he can be ridiculed by so many .
Taylor is probably the hardest working player on our team . He is highly thought of by our coaches and players who seem to involve him in almost all our attacks . He doesnā€™t take on players often, as he is our defensive lynch pin on the left, however he is very good doing one twos and either playing a colleague in behind or getting in himself.9 assItā€™s so far is a very good return .
Fingprong can take players on very well but is more recently taking the safer option of doing as Taylor .
We do need another left sided back to compliment Taylor, not necessary to replace him.

Best one! You would need some pair of green spectacles to not see that barisic is by far the best left back in the Country. Taylor will be fine domestically. Could do with a wing back who can go past players. Then we would have the option depending on the opposition. definitely need another one in to have cover either way.

22 Sep 2020 17:07:05
Didn't even know what position barsic played.

Agree1 Disagree0

22 Sep 2020 17:15:47
Taylor's job shouldn't be dribbling past defenders our any other definition of a wingers job . he does the right thing if he can't get passed his man he passes it back to the creative midfielders . look how often he pass it back then immediately makes a run forward beyond the guy he couldn't dribble passed and no pass is giving. he's willing and able to put that work in to go forward but the creative midfielder usually passes it side ways or back and gets applauded.

Agree3 Disagree0

22 Sep 2020 17:57:39
He looks for the overlap every time when the winger approaches the box which is pretty convincing. You can see he is trying at least. Iā€™d give him time, heā€™s not the worst we have had by any means.

22 Sep 2020 18:31:06
Don't understand this anti Taylor talk, I think he is a great player, he seems to get criticism, whilst others in the team can do no wrong.

if legends like forrest and brown can get and take stick the way they do then i think some supporters who are not taylor fans can give their opinions on him its the way it is.

22 Sep 2020 19:39:34
Liam . Agree . but he's getting hammered for an aspect of his game which in truth isn't really a full backs job if they can dribble past defenders it's a bonus. but a give and go beyond is every bit as valid a way of beating your opponent. and comparing / judging him with the superfan that was Tierney who choose to piss off doesn't help.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Sep 2020 19:58:14
From what Iā€™ve seen I think Taylor has a lot of promise. To those who want to castigate him publicity why donā€™t you go and support the Rangers? With regard to the Tierney lovers the difference between Taylor and Tierney I agree is indeed massive. One is wearing green and white hoops and deserves our support the other feckd off when we needed him with 10 in a row in sight and plays for a team somewhere in a foreign country.

Agree1 Disagree0

22 Sep 2020 20:21:35
A lot is being made of Taylor's inability to beat a man. Have to say I'm less than convinced by him defensively as well. Gets skinned too often and doesn't stop crosses into the box enough. He is decent SPL standard. In better. Hope he keeps working hard and improves though.

22 Sep 2020 20:26:34
its wrong to compare him to tierney and personally don't know anybody who actually does. deep river bhoy i agree taylor is decent on the overlap and though I'm not his biggest fan I've said for a long time that he is.

24 games
9 assists
1 goal
Pretty decent return for someone that is apparently not very good going forward šŸ¤”
He is a defender, his job is to defend first and foremost. He is pretty decent at that too, he keeps possession of the ball most of the time.
I think he is a decent player and is young enough to improve, he works hard and gives his all for the team. You can't ask for much more that that, put it this way I would suggest that if we sign someone no matter who they are Greg Taylor will push them all the way for the starting slot in the team.

22 Sep 2020 21:16:20
If we get a projected 10+ assists from him this season is that not a massive bonus? Thatā€™s what his stats project.

Every season in July and August we are subjected to how wonderful Rangers2012 players are by the MSSM and Radio and TV pundits, so much so that Celtic fans believe them and repeat their nonsense . This year Batisic is one of their golden boys . They were going to sell him for Ā£20m and we had fans speaking in glowing terms about him .
The halo has started to slip, even Rangers2012 fans werenā€™t happy with him on Sunday, so he will become average like the rest of them.

22 Sep 2020 22:55:14
No that's not a bonus he is a Celtic full back that's what he's there to do and should be doing.

Just read a piece fae Charlie Nicholas there. couldn't relieve what I read although thinking on it shouldn't be surprised. he reckons Celtic should've gone back in for McKenna as ( in his opinion) Duffy isn't significantly better than him. just shows how far out of touch Nicholas is with Scottish football.

Think wee Chas is permanently drunk Duffy is far superior in every way. Charlie needs to go for a wee lie doon all that champers is caught up with him.

When you see an article with charlie Nicholas' name in it, then it is best to save your time and skip it. I can guarantee there is nothing worth reading as the man is a moron in the IQ department.

I never read story today but saw headline. I think Duffy has done well since signing and once defence gets used to playing alongside each other, it will only improve. I would of liked to have saw us sign McKenna as well to play alongside Duffy as I think McKenna would of linked up well in back 3 with Duffy and Julien if Ajer goes.

Couldnā€™t agree more kev83, I new before reading the article it would be nonsense from him but signing McKenna would be another waste of millions, unless u think like Nicholas that in a few years time weā€™d be selling him with a considerable profit šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ aye right Charlie.
