When's it to be played?, I'll bet it's just after a European game.

{Ed007's Note - Sunday October 23rd I think. We play Borussia Monchengladbach on the 19th (Wednesday) and we were scheduled to play Accies at Celtic Park on the Saturday.}

I hate to play devils advocate and know we are under a new regime without clueless Ronny at the helm, but. this was the same talk before the cup semi in April and they will be using every underhand trick in the book to even the scores. The media will spin like never before to do us a disservice. Any win will do me, but we haven't played anything like as well since we spanked them. Let's do our talking on the rutted hampden surface.

If there was a genuine anti-Celtic agenda would they not have drawn us against Aberdeen?

Agree0 Disagree2

22 Sep 2016 23:58:04
I didn't say that Kevbhoy but now the draw is made you can't deny that the media will never portray us in a positive light ahead of them. I agree that a 'fixed' draw would have had us against the Dons.

I honestly think the players are still suffering from the Barcelona game.
But they will be well up for this game and we will show them the 5-1 game wasn't a fluke.
Does anyone think Barton will play LOL.

In the old days players smoking would have been much more common. Mind you, I'm sure there are a lot of professional players even in the modern era who smoke. Don't ask me who they are though. Anyone got any names? HH.

Agree0 Disagree2

{Ed007's Note - Paddy McCourt smoked, I don't know of any current Celtic players who smoke apart from the odd celebratory cigar. Jack Wilshere, Messi, Rooney, Sneijder and Balotelli are some of the top players today who have been seen smoking.}

22 Sep 2016 17:51:59
Think I heard that Henrik smoked, mind that was ages ago so mibby I fabricated it all.

I thought I remembered hearing Henke smoked, imagine if he didn't. It's pretty common gossip Berba was on 20 a day and I'm sure I read at the Euros that Nainggolan was actually specifically given a room with a balcony so that he could have a cig.

{Ed007's Note - His Mrs was 'smoking' too if I remember right. Gravesen's worth something like Β£100 million now after some shrewd investments and living the playboy life in Las vegas - the jammy baldy (swear).

22 Sep 2016 20:42:44
I don't think Larsson smoked I think he just ate chewing tobacco and Sutton Lennon Thompson and co followed suite wasn't it bhoys?

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - It's called Snus I think, it's revolting stuff and I could never understand why they took it up. I've seen Larsson smoking a cigar a few times over the years. I remember seeing Craig Burley smoking quite a few times about the pubs and clubs in Glasgow and Scott MacDonald smoked as many as the old welder I served my time under. Bobo was a smoker too, as was Boruc and I've heard Lubo was a smoker but I don't know if that's true.}

22 Sep 2016 21:39:42

To be fair, Snus is almost like a swedish national "dish". I think almost any swede has tried snus st one point. i'm from the neigbour country, and snus is a lot better than smoking, it dosnt affect your lungs but contains a lot of nicotine. I do nus a lot myself at work and such, and as i tried to stop smoking its a much better sub. But Bond, it looks kind of disqusting.

Agree0 Disagree2

{Ed007's Note - We had a thing maybe 25 years ago called Skoal Bandits which were the same idea but they didn't last long after it was found out the risks of mouth cancer from using them AND the sods were targetting schoolkids as customers - it was a bit of a PR disaster for the Government if I remember correctly as the company had received strong government support and grants to open their factory in East Kilbride. Older posters will probably know more about it than me.
I hate smoking, it's a horrible stinking habit - and that comes from a smoker! I wish I had never started and would love to stop. I'm thinking of trying those e-cig things but are you really stopping smoking or just changing what you smoke?}

23 Sep 2016 09:57:35
Im on you on that ED, hate smoking myself and i wish i never started also. Different times back in the early 90' when everybody did it.
It has been a lot of studies towards snus and mouth cancer and by norwegian law, it is not harmfull so it has no warninglabels like siggarets and after the health department cleared it it has become like a trend.
You now also get it in portions and nicotine free so even girls do it now.
Even some of our best footballers and skier do it cause it dosnt harm you lungs.
So i would recomend portion snus over e-sigs.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - Women chewing tobacco? That's classy lol}

23 Sep 2016 10:09:25
Ed I've been off them for 9 months, went on patches, and they gave me headaches and sickness feeling, so whenever I wanted 1, I just stuck a half patch on for 10 mins, and the headache I didn't want s ciggie.
I'd stay away from the vapour cigs, heard they're not that good for you.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Well done mate, that's brilliant. Keep it up. I stopped for nearly a year about 10 years ago using patches and only started again on the morning of my wedding. Yet another reason why it was the worst - and most expensive day - of my life.}

23 Sep 2016 15:47:10

He quite simply crapped it to our benefit IMO (y)

To me it wasn't last man or a clear goal scoring opportunity. Its a yellow for me.

Agree0 Disagree1

22 Sep 2016 10:32:00
If ever there was evidence then last night proved it beyond doubt. Craig Gordon is an absolute liability. If that tackle was during a European game he would have been off and facing a long ban. Our goalkeeping situation is deeply worrying. Gordon is probably a better shot stopper though parries it out into danger too often, De Vries is too casual with his passing and clearances and both of them are an absolute nightmare at set pieces. We are being sussed out at the back in every game now.
BR has to look for a new keeper now to get him in for the January window.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

22 Sep 2016 11:38:35
Why would a red card be dished out for the challenge in Europe and not here; as all the refs are anti-Celtic here apparently.

Agree3 Disagree7

22 Sep 2016 11:59:25
We certainly have a goalkeeping crisis lately and surely we must be able to sort this out with four on the books at present?
If we decide not to add another in January, maybe we can approach the SFA/ SPFL to introduce a policy of 'any man saves' or a 'backie-in'.

Agree1 Disagree0

22 Sep 2016 23:59:06
Although it would never happen I'd love Vorm with Fasan as back up and punt both Gordon and De Vries in Jan.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Sep 2016 18:27:38
Gordon seems to not to be able to play under pressure . In many SPL games he used to be reasonable enough, made a few saves and few enough changers . When the stakes were higher in Europe the mistakes were plentiful . On Wednesday when he has a reasonable challenger for the number 1 spot, he seemed to be a nervous wreck and a mistake never seemed to be far away .
He seems to have a particular problem going for a ball that isn't his outside the box and loses himself.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Sep 2016 10:08:36
Enjoyed last night's game, strange but true. With a little more luck, cooler heads and better finishing could easily been 10-0.

But last night's game does tell us somethings, We are a very young team and players need to learn how to break down this type of opposition.

Sorry to say watching a replay of the Barcelona game would have been a good training video on how to score against inferior oppenents.

I have some concerns Gordon is turning into a new bombscare he lacks confidence makes rash decisions and panics under pressure, sorry but he needs to go.

I also have worries over Armstrong he made no short telling passes around the penalty area. Compare this to both Rogic and Christie who continue to improve.

We need to find a strong forceful midfield player and that must be a priority for January.

Enjoyed Siminovic but prefered when he played on the right side of the central defence, think him and O'Connell could be the defence next year.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

22 Sep 2016 12:01:48
I like the look of Christie and even though he has had very limited chances, I hope he gets a wee run in the side soon as we certainly improved in and around the box when he came on - even though they were tiring.

Agree3 Disagree0

22 Sep 2016 13:54:44
may be a little left field - but what about getting a decent left back and letting Tierney play further advanced?

he was impressive last night and just thinking he was better that JF and PR last night - not afraid to take a man on or have a good shot.

Agree0 Disagree2

22 Sep 2016 17:29:13
I thought Rogic was terrible last night.

Agree1 Disagree0

22 Sep 2016 17:35:10
Thought Ryan Christie was excellent when he came on, fast good ball control and v good vision . Thought James Forrest had an excellent game, thank God Brendan Rodgers quickly seen what he can bring to the table . Some fans wanted rid .
It's very seldom K Tierney doesn't play well and last night he was really v good . However it's a completely kettle of fish, getting the ball facing opposition goals and often getting time to move forward before coming into contact with opponents, than what Forest and Roberts have to face, often receiving ball and defender (s) at one time .

Two great goals eventually, maybe Dembele would be better playing in the Rogic role with maybe a little bit of space .

Agree3 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - Apart from his goal Forrest was rank rotten and was back to being as bad as ever with his decision making, watch the game again and see how many moves broke down when the ball went to Forrest, how many times did he beat his man and when he did his crossing and passing inside the box was pitiful.
There wasn't one Celtic player had an excellent game last night - Christie done well when he came on - but it was an overall dreadful performance against opposition we should be running over the top of.
Going on his form over the last few games I expect Forrest to pick up an injury in the next month or so, some people call it deja vu.}

22 Sep 2016 17:54:04
I thought forrest done well.

Agree1 Disagree3

22 Sep 2016 20:55:41
Have to agree with Ed, he took the goal really well, lovely ball from Christie, but he still isn't consistent enough in terms of end product, I hope he does manage the season without layoff but for me I'm genuinely not sure how his final pass, shot, cross etc hasn't developed. He has been with celtic a good while now n is it confidence in game situations or just not enough practice of the parts of the game he is weak on.
Look at how Beckham pinged a ball in for man united from right wing, it should be 1 touch n cross it n also on the run past a man n cross that should be drilled over n over again.
Certainly not a vintage performance from us, we are through none the less but gordon was truly awful, didn't rate him for hearts n I don't rate him now either.

Agree0 Disagree1

23 Sep 2016 00:02:04
I'd like Christie to be Rogics back up as the number 10 role he has better pace and would be more creative and goal threat than Armstrong.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Sep 2016 09:41:14
Forrest cannot get his final baw right. He scored a great goal but if you watch game again and count the number if times he fecks up the final baw it's clear he still has a way to go.

How either Mcgreggor or Forrest get a game before Christie, will develop into a bigger mystery to me than people who like semolina and prunes.

Could have been 10 nil. Should have been, let's hope we save that type of tanking for our friends across the city I. the semi final.

Hopefully they will have been gubbed by the Dons and Farts before we do them ensuring the not so magic hat is finally shown up for what it is.

Delusional wishful thinking fanned by sevconian journos who build them up for everyone to enjoy them crashing.

They believe anything.

Think it was Tosh McKinlay scouted him I remember him saying he was like for like with VVD. You can really see that with the way in which he looks to carry and play the ball forward, as well as his composure. Not sure he can hit 30 yard free kicks but he's got to be a regular for me. I think he can be a top player in time.

Openly admitted i gave up season tickets 2 seasons ago due to losing job and very nearly moving to Germany. Point i'm making tonight, recently all the big games have been a good attendance. What happened tonight? I don't know if it was a season ticket allocation or general sale, but i would of loved to take my 2 daughters and never bothered enquiring cause i thought it would be a sell out. Not a rant just a bit annoyed as i would of loved to of took them tonight.

DN30, I think that you can get tickets for most Celtic home matches, the only exceptions would be the Sevco match and most European matches.
The crowds this season are better than last season, but I'm pretty sure that you would still get in.
I don't know how good the seats are that would be available, I suppose they are the seats that season ticket holders don't want, but they should be okay.
